Chapter 12: Flashback

"Good morning Toji." A cheerful familiar voice called to him.

Toji looked at the small girl a bit startled.

"Sorry, what are you thinking about?" She asked with a smile.

"Oh nothing." Toji was a bad liar and Sae knew it.

"Oh it wouldn't have to do with Momo cheating on you. Would it?" She asked with false concern.

"She is not. That's just a rumor and you know it." He was very sensitive.

"I know a lot of people around school are talking about it. You know they don't blame you. They all know how Momo is." She said in a snobbish tone.

"Oh and how is that?" He snapped. "She is a good girl and I love her very much." He almost growled at Sae.

She dismissively waved at him. "Fine, believe whatever you want. Be her little fool. If that's what you want? You know if this keeps going on you are going to be a laughing stock. You should end it now and go for a more respectable girl." She said.

He looked at her with daggers in his eyes. He knew she was right about the rumors, but they were just rumors. Right? "Like who? You?" He said in an annoyed tone.

"Oh Toji you know any girl would kill to be with you. Even me." She tried her best to be flirtatious.

"Look she isn't cheating on me." He snapped.

"But I can prove it." Sae said.

"What? How?" He was in disbelief.

"I live near her. You could come over to my house tonight and we could stake out her house. You can see for yourself. I didn't want to have to tell you this but I've seen Kiley crawling in and out of her window at night." Sae said in her fake sympathetic tone.

Toji stood like a stone not knowing what to do. "Fine." Was all he said before her slowly walked away.

Sae smiled to herself. `Now to set the trap.'

Yes this is a flashback. I guess you can consider it a little side story to explain Toji's behavior. I'm sure you'll all enjoy it. Let me know what you think. Oh and how does everyone feel now that Sae has entered the picture?
