Chapter 15: Period

She stared at her calendar and waited. She had two more weeks before she should get her period. Momo sighed `I'll just have to wait it out. What will I do if I am?' she wondered as she bit down on her nail.

Days had started to pass as she waited anxiously for it. She sat at the edge of her bed as Kiley sat behind her and rubbed her back.

"Everything will be fine Momo just wait you'll see. Your not pregnant." He soothed her.

"But what if I am?" She said nervously.

"Then we'll work through it." He smiled at her. The truth was he was just as nervous he just didn't want Momo to worry.

The time came and still nothing. Momo finally felt she needed to go to her mother for help.

She didn't know how to approach her on the subject. Nervously she approached her.

"Mom can i talk to you?" She asked her voice faltering.

Her mother looked at her with a worried expression on her face but padded the couch seat next to her.

Momo sat and began to tell her of her problems and worries. When she was done her mother could only stare at her a bit in shock.

"I have a call to make." Her mother said as she left the room and a very nerous Momo.

The two went to the pharmacy and bought the kit. Nervously she took it out of the box and used it.

Her mother held her hand as they waited for the results.

She picked up the phone to call him but couldn't. It took all her strength to dial his number.

She could hesitate no longer as soon as she heard his voice on the other end she blurted it out.

"I'm pregnant." She said in a dry tone.

"What are you talking about?" He asked.

"I'm pregnant with your child." She said again almost as if to convince herself.

"That's impossible. How can you be so sure. It could be anybodies." He shot back.

"No you were the only one." She started to yell.

"I can't." was the last thing she heard before he hung up the phone.

the boy ran a hand hrough his blonde hair and just stood there looking at the machine in disbelief. `It was the first time that's impossible. How could I have been so stupid?' He wondered.

Momo called Kiley over to talk. When he arrived she told him about a trip she had recently taken to the doctors office.

"I had to go in for an exam. It was really weird they poke at you and prod at you. It's so uncomfortable bt it was worth it." She said with a smile.

She pulled a small round flat object from her pocket.

"What's that?" He asked.

"Birth control." She said.

He looked a little stunned.

"I talked to my mom and we decided it was best to be safe than sorry." She said.

"Is she ok with this?" He asked surprised.

"Well I got one of those you're grown up made your own decisions but I don't approve of it speeches." She said in a mock tone.

He smiled at her and pulled her over for a kiss.

"It takes a month to work so can we wait till then?" She asked.

"Anything for you my sweet." He said.
