Chapter 4

"Poor Nyu she seems so sad." Victoria said watching Nyu sleep in her brother's arms. "I only wish there is something we could do to ease her pain, I know she really wants a child but her emotions will affect the child more than anything else will." D said.

"Do you think there is a way to make her happy?" Leon asked. "She was happy when she died and for a time she was happy when I brought her from the dead, but the past few weeks she's been slipping in and out of a mix of despair and a depressed state, as each day passes it becomes harder for her to stay happy." Victoria said looking at Nyu then at D and Leon. "Has she been outside I noticed how focused she was when she was looking out the window." D asked as Nyu shifted in his arms and moaned.

"Are you okay Nyu?" Leon asked. "Mmm, I think I'm alright, thank you for asking." Nyu said getting up off of the couch. "You should be happy that you have a child brother take good care of her." Nyu said walking out of the living room. "Nyu where are you going?" Victoria asked. "For a walk want to come with me the sun is up." Nyu said.

"Let's go to the park." D said. "Yes it will be a day out for the petshop family." Victoria said. "Uh yeah, Leonona's awake." Leon said. "I'll get her." Nyu said walking into the living room and over to the crib. Reaching in and picking up Leonona she laid the baby in her arms and looked out the window. "You look like an angel you know that?" Victoria asked. "I guess I do don't I, an angel that fell from the sky and is suppose to fall in love with a mortal so she can live the rest of her life happy." Nyu said looking down at Leonona who looked back up at her curiously. "Such a curious child you are, I'm your aunt Nyu Al." Nyu said as Leonona made her happy noises and clapped her hands.

"Hey settle down what are you so excited about hmm?" Nyu asked watching Leonona continue to make her baby noises. "Hmm, I only wish I could give you a cousin to play with but I can't my body isn't fit for a baby to grow inside me." Nyu said as Leonona stopped her clapping and reached up towards Nyu. "She likes you Nyu she never takes to anyone that fast." D said. "You're really great with children." Leon said. "Thank you." Nyu said. "Come on now let's go." D said as the small family walked out of Victoria's house and down to the park. "It's wonderful in the light." Nyu said.

"I agree come on you can sit on the swing with Leonona Nyu." Victoria said showing Nyu to the swings. "Let's leave the girls alone to talk for a while my dear Leon." D said kissing Leon's lips. "Mmm, sure but you better not get pregnant again." Leon said kissing D back. "Don't worry I won't come on this way." D said pulling Leon into a small clearing behind a bunch of trees. "It's beautiful back here D." Leon said laying down in the grass watching D climb on top of him. "It is isn't it and do you know what else I find beautiful?" D asked lifting Leon's shirt up. "What, me?" Leon asked kissing D.

"Of course my brave lion." D said removing his clothes and laying back on top of Leon gently ran his fingers through Leon's blond hair. "Gotcha." Leon said flipping D over so that he was on top of him. "Leon?" D asked. "Don't worry baby I'll be gentle I promise." Leon said inserting a finger in D's entrance. "Ahh Leon!" D said closing his eyes. "Shhh it will only hurt for a little bit ok." Leon said kissing D and sliding a second finger in continued to stretch his lovers muscles. "Mmm Leon it hurts." D said tears falling from his eyes. "Just relax the pain will go away soon I promise." Leon said.

"Leon." D said looking at his lover. "It's okay D." Leon said gently lightly brushing his fingers against D prostate. "Uhh god that feels nice Leon please I need you in me." D said as Leon pulled his fingers out and positioned himself at D's entrance.

"Ready love?" Leon asked. D nodded his head in response as Leon slid himself inside D's entrance and held for a while. "Don't worry I'm fine go on." D said as Leon started up a slow pace then began going faster hitting D's prostate many times until D came over his and Leon's chest and Leon came inside D. "Leon that was wonderful." D said as Leon pulled out of him and layed down beside him.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it love let's get back to the girls before they come looking for us." Leon said cleaning off his and D's chest and putting his clothes back on and smoothing his hair he and D left the clearing and went back to the park where the girls were waiting for them. "Have a nice time you two?" Victoria asked. "Victoria all Leon and I did was go talk for a while." D said. "Oh what were you talking about?" Nyu asked holding Leonona who now looked to be the age of two. "My retirement." Leon said.

"Does being a detective tire you out that much?" Victoria asked. "I like being a cop. But you how worried D tends to get." Leon said. "I'm supposed to worry for you my dear Leon." D said laying his on Leon's shoulder. "Uh, is that Leonona?" Leon asked looking at the small girl in Nyu's arms. "Yes she grew while you two were talking." Nyu said shifting the small child in her arms. "Oh good I was wondering when she would take this form, I never expected it to happen just after she was born though." D said.

"Uh D would you mind filling me in here?" Leon asked. "Certainly dear it's just basically how it was with my pregnancy she grows pretty quickly because she is part Kami her growth should be regular now that she has reached this form." D said. "So she won't look like she's fifteen by tomorrow or hours from now?" Leon asked.

"Oh no her growth rate will be normal now, poor girl she must really be tired. Looks like I'll have to start shopping for cheongsams as soon as we get back to Victoria's house." D said taking Leonona from his sister's arms and holding her in his own. "She looks like a little porcelain doll." Leon said stroking Leonona's hair as D moved her to a more comfortable position. "You know her hair isn't completely black she has some blond strands as well." Victoria said. "Really I didn't notice any." Leon said. "Here let me show you." Victoria said as Leon looked at his daughter's hair. "Right here it's a cross between black and gold." Victoria said holding the end of Leonona's hair where it was a mix of black and gold. "Beautiful." D said. "Come on let's get back to Victoria's house." Nyu said getting up off of the swing she was sitting on. "Yeah I'm tired." Victoria said.

"Same here all that running we did." Leon said. As the family walked back to Victoria's house. "Ah home sweet home." Victoria said. "Let's sleep in here for a while most of the animals have my spare rooms and many of them aren't ready for guests yet." Victoria said sitting down on the couch as D and the others each took a spot in the living room. "Night guys." Leon said. "Night." Everyone said and fell asleep.

About three hours later Leonona woke up and looked around the room she was in and let out a tiny yawn. So you are awake Child of the Darkness. White Fang said walking up to Leonona and sitting back on his haunches. Leonona looked curiously at the male wolf and looked up to see Aniou standing on the steps. Leonona blinked her large blue and violet eyes a few times yawned again and then slid off of her mother's lap and stood on the floor looking at White Fang. Aniou walked down from the steps some time later and sat down beside White Fang as Leonona held out her hand.

Aniou gently nudged the child's hand with her nose watching to see if Leonona would move any. Come with us little one and we shall find you something more warmer to wear. Aniou said as White Fang walked up behind Leonona and gently nudged her in the back. Leonona followed the two wolves upstairs where Victoria's room was. White Fang turned the knob on the door and the three walked inside.

This one will do for now until your parents get you some cheongsams of your own. Aniou said showing Leonona a purple silk cheongsam with a white swan on it. Leonona put the silk garment on and fastened the catches on it and looked at her self in the mirror and then looked to the wolves for reassurance. It suits you. White Fang said.

"Leonona, sweetheart where are you?" D called out. Leonona looked towards the door and then back at the wolves. Go on now your mother's calling you. Aniou said watching Leonona walk towards the door and slip on a pair of slippers and continue out of the room. "Leonona!" Victoria called out. "Where could she have gone off to?" D asked. "She around the house I know that much the front door is locked." Leon said.

"I know that much." Victoria said turning around towards the stairs where Leonona was standing. "D I found her." Victoria said walking up to the girl and picking her up. "Leonona you had me worried sick where on earth were you, and where did you get such a beautiful cheongsam " D asked watching Leonona point upstairs.

"Up there?" D asked. Leonona nodded her head and kicked her feet. "Looks like White Fang and Aniou got her dressed for you what she's wearing used to be mine, but she can have it call it a gift." Victoria said. "Thank you Victoria, and you Leonona don't go running off like that again it's not nice to worry me like that." D said.

Leonona nodded her head in understanding and D set her down and let her run into the living room to see Nyu. "You know she's going to have to start school Monday right?" Leon asked kissing D's temple. "Leon she can't even talk yet." D said.

"Still she'll learn to talk eventually she has to go sometime D." Leon said. "But Leon she was just born last night I don't want to be separated from her yet." D said looking at his daughter who was playing with Nyu. "D she won't have to go until next week so you get to spend as much time with her as you like, but she has to go to school sometime it's required by law." Leon said. "Alright she will attend school Monday." D said and let out a long and sad sigh. "Don't worry she'll only be away for a few hours and then she will be back in our arms and will be her little energetic self." Leon said.

Monday came around pretty fast a little too fast for D Leonona had learned many words in just that short amount of time and had managed to form a few sentences as well. Now D and Leon are getting their daughter ready for her first day of school.

"Come here Leonona and let me brush your hair." D said as Leonona ran up to her mother and sat on her lap. "I take it Victoria let you have another one of her old garments hmm?" D asked brushing his daughter's hair. "Uh huh." Leonona said looking up at her mother and smiling cutely. "You have the cutest smile my Leonona." D said hugging his daughter close to him. "D, Leonona you ready?" Leon asked.

"Got get your things dear." D said setting Leonona on the floor and watching her run to get her backpack. "D you ok, I know it's hard to see her go, believe me it won't be the same around here without her here." Leon said pulling D close to him. "Don't worry I'll be alright." D said wiping a tear from his eye as Leonona came back into the room.

"Ready to go?" Leon asked bending down to one knee. " 'ep." Leonona said. "Well then let's go." Leon said reaching for Leonona's backpack only to her pull it from him. "I see you want to carry it yourself alright come on." Leon said holding the door open for D and Leonona as the three walked outside past the park and into the regular area of the city. "Feels nice to be around the city again." Leon said.

"It's such a nice day outside maybe once you come home Leonona we could play in the park, what do you think?" D asked looking at his daughter. "Mmm otay mommy." Leonona said. "We're here." Leon said. "Already that was a short walk." D said as the three walked up the steps and into the school where a man was waiting for them.

"Good morning I'm Mr. Damon one of the principals at this school.", "Leon Orcot pleased to meet you I assume you know Count D?" Leon asked. "Oh yes my son has a dog from your petshop how's business?" Mr. Damon asked. "I'm afraid it's not going to well you see someone broke into my shop and it's pretty much a mess now." D said. "I see I hope the petshop is back up and running again soon, this must be Leonona am I right?" Mr. Damon asked looking at the little girl holding onto D's hand.

"Yep this is Leonona." Leon said. "Well then it is a pleasure to meet you." Mr. Damon said. "It is nice to meet you to sir." Leonona said bowing. "She's so polite please come with me and I'll show you to Leonona's classroom." Mr. Damon said as the four walked down a long hallway until they stopped in front of a door. "Room 22 this is where Leonona will be, the other students will be coming in shortly so I'll just introduce you three to Leonona's teacher." Mr. Damon said knocking on the door. "Come in." A young male voice said as the four walked into the room. "Ah Mr. Damon good morning." The man said getting up from his chair and walking over to the chalk board.

"Good morning Mr. Diamond I brought your new student to meet you." Mr. Damon said. "Ah yes Miss Leonona Allison Orcot, I assume you two are her parents?" Mr. Diamond asked looking at the two men. "Yes that's right." D said.

"And this must be Miss Leonona?" Mr. Diamond said bending down to one knee and looking at Leonona. "Yes this is Leonona she's a bit shy though, sweetie say hello to your teacher." D said. "Hello sir." Leonona said. "Hello to you to do you go by Leonona or Allison?" Mr. Diamond asked. "I don't really mind." Leonona said. "May I call you Allison then?" Mr. Diamond asked. "Mmm hmm." Leonona said. "Well then come with me and I'll show you where to put your things, do not worry she will be well cared for." Mr. Diamond said showing Leonona where to put her backpack. "Want to go say goodbye to your parents?" Mr. Diamond asked watching Leonona walk back to her parents.

"Bye sweetie be good for your teacher and we'll see you in a few hours." D said hugging his daughter. "Yeah you be good okay." Leon said. "Otay daddy bye, bye." Leonona said. "Bye dear." D said as the two walked out the door. "Daddy." Leonona said. "Hmm." Leon said. "Bang." Leonona said making a gun with her thumb and finger. "Ha-ha bang." Leon said as the two men left and Leonona walked back inside.

"Your father must be a cop." Mr. Diamond said. "Yep." Leonona said. "What section does he work in?" Mr. Diamond asked. "He gets to figure out who killed another person." Leonona said. "So he's a detective?" Mr. Diamond asked. "Yep bang is our way of saying have a nice day and be safe." Leonona said. "I see, come on and I'll show you to your seat all of the other children have a seat of their own." Mr. Diamond said showing Leonona to a purple seat with her name on it. "Here you go this is your seat your parents said you like to sit by windows." Mr. Diamond said. "I like to watch the birdies." Leonona said. "They told me that too class will start soon so you can look around if you like." Mr. Diamond said walking back over to the chalk board and continued writing.

A while later the children began walking in and sat down in their chairs. Once everyone was seated Mr. Diamond stood up from his desk and began talking. "Class we have a new student today and I want you to treat her with the same respect as you do your other classmates. Come on up and tell the class something about yourself." Mr. Diamond as Leonona got up from her seat and walked up to the front of the class.

"Hello I'm Leonona but I also go by my middle name which is Allison it's nice to meet all of you. I hope we can become good friends I like to paint draw and dance and my favorite color is purple." Leonona said. bowing and walking back to her seat. "Thank you Allison class today we will start with the alpha-bet and do many actitives having to do with the letter we do each day. Now today we will start with the letter A now I want you to go find something in this room that starts with the letter A and bring it back to your seats with you ready and go." Mr. Diamond said as the children got up from their seats and walked around the room looking for things that started with the letter A.

Leonona walked over to a shelf that held different types of animal and fish figures and stuffed toys. "Angel fish." Leonona said picking up the stuffed fish and going back to her seat as the other children sat back down in their seats. "Good job class would any of you like to share what you found?" Mr. Diamond asked. "Apple." a boy with short black hair said. "Very good Andy, would anyone else like to share?" Mr. Diamond asked.

"I got an Ape." A girl with blue eyes and long brown hair said. "Ah yes our closest cousins very good Hikaru . Allison would you like to tell us what you found?" Mr. Diamond asked. "I found an Angel fish." Leonona said holding up the stuffed fish. "I always did wonder where that got off to very good find Allison. Anyone else?" Mr. Diamond asked as the other children took turns showing what they had found.

"You all did very well and as a special treat you all get to have what you found in class today." Mr. Diamond said as the children cheered. "Let's see here next thing on our list is snack time so why don't you all go pick a spot in the room and I'll bring the snacks around. Anyone that has their own snack may eat theirs as well." Mr. Diamond said walking over to a small refrigerator and pulling out some apple slices began handing them out to the students. "Allison would you like some?" Mr. Diamond asked.

"No thank you daddy made me some before we left home." Leonona said showing her teacher the apple slices she had. "Well then you don't mind if I join you do you?" Mr. Diamond asked. "I don't mind." Leonona said timidly as her teacher sat down beside her.

"Mr. Diamond how come you have white hair?" Leonona asked. "I you be curious about that considering how young I am, to tell you the truth I really don't know why my hair is white." Mr. Diamond said. "Your eyes are really pretty." Leonona said.

"Your such a sweet girl, and a pretty one as well." Mr. Diamond said looking at Leonona. "That's what my mommy says." Leonona said eating her apple. "Your parents are lucky to have such a sweet and beautiful looking child." Mr. Diamond said. "Why do you say that?" Leonona asked looking curiously up at her teacher. "It's not everyday you get a child that has two different eye colors and a mix of black and blond hair, you Leonona Allison Orcot are a very special child and you should be very proud of that." Mr. Diamond said. "Aniou said that same thing but I don't feel very special." Leonona said.

"Who's Aniou?" Mr. Diamond asked his diamond grey eyes holding some form of curiosity to them. "Aniou is mommy's friend's dog she's very pretty she's white like the snow." Leonona said. "I see snack time will be over soon then it will be time for recess so you can go out with the others and play." Mr. Diamond said getting up and taking the tray walked back over to the fridge and placed it inside.

"Okay class snack time is over when the bell rings you may go outside and play." Mr. Diamond said and a while later the bell sounded and the children ran out of class and Mr. Diamond walked out behind them until they got to the playground and the children went to go play on the swings and slides and jungle jim. "Leonona walked over to one of the swings and sat down on it and began to swing until a small girl walked over to her and she stopped swinging. "Hi I'm Arlene what's your name?" the small girl asked her blue eyes shinning like the ocean. "I'm Leonona it's nice to meet you want to be friends?" Leonona asked getting off of the swing. "I've never had a friend before." Arlene said shaking her head her long black hair fanning out over her shoulders.

"I'll be your friend then, want to swing together?" Leonona asked getting back on the swing. "Ok." Arlene said and sat on a swing next to Leonona as the two started to swing together until the two girls parents came to get them. "Leonona, Arlene your parents are here to get you." Mr. Diamond said. "Hey there squirt." Leon said.

"Daddy." Leonona said running up to Leon. "And how was your day dear?" Arlene's mother asked picking the small girl up. "I made a friend today mommy." Arlene said. "I see Leonona thank you so much for being Arlene's friend, come on dear let's go home." Arlene's mother said turning around and going back inside the school.

"Bye Arlene." Leonona said. "Bang." Arlene said. "Bang." Leonona said and snuggled into her fathers shirt. "You have such a polite daughter I don't think I've ever met someone as polite as Leonona. It is an honor to have her here." Mr. Diamond said.

"We are certainally glad that you enjoy having her company come here sweetie did you have a nice day?" D asked as Leon handed her to him and Leon went to go get her things. "Yep Mr. Diamond let me have a stuffed fishie." Leonona said. "You mean this thing?" Leon asked watching Leonona reach for it. "Here you go." Leon said handing the fish to Leonona who gladly took it in her arms and cuddled it until she fell asleep in her mother's arms."Poor dear you must be really tired from your day." D said.

"Excuse me sir may I ask you something?" Mr. Diamond asked. Certainally." D said. "Leonona's quite timid when she speaks like she's unsure of herself she's a very bright girl that she is but she seems some how unsure of the things she does." Mr. Diamond said. "I'm sorry I don't quite understand you." D said. "How do I say this when she speaks she knows what she wants to say it's just she is unsure of herself sometimes, is there a reason for that?" Mr. Diamond asked. "Not that myself or Leon knows of, is there any other concerns you may have about Leonona?" D asked.

"She seems to like to be on her own a lot and tends to shy away from the other children." Mr. Diamond said. "She's just frightened that's all, she only feels comfortable around certain people." D said. "Would it be any better if I let her bring Aniou to class tomorrow let her talk about Aniou in front of the class?" Mr. Diamond asked.

"May I ask the reason behind it?" D asked. "As I said before she is unsure of herself and I think this Aniou she speaks of may help her come out of her shell and learn to be more confident in herself." Mr. Diamond said. "I don't see a problem with that but is it alright with the principal, Anoiu's not a regular breed of dog." D said.

"Oh what is she then?" Mr. Diamond asked. "She is a wolf but a very gentle one." D said. "We have students bring in dogs that are part wolf and Mr. Damon does not seem to mind. Anyway we have a whole month in this school every year called animal day and students may bring any animal of their choosing as long as it does not harm any other people in this school of course." Mr. Diamond said.

"Now I see why my petshop was always busy this month." D said. "It was nice talking to ya, you have a nice day come on D." Leon said. "Alright Leonona will see you tomorrow sir." D said and left with Leon with Leonona in his arms sound asleep.
