The Bearer
Karie and Buffy had finally reached The Dark Palace on horse back. It had taken them two days, two damned miserable days Buffy had to fake her happiness. She was getting a weird feeling thinking about Tyler. Would he be mad at her for the incodent with Nuka? Or would Nuka be the one to pay the price?
"Finally." said karie gratefully. "we're here." Nuka kept his silent stance. He saw the princess in her bedroom, She was always in there. Forbid to be let out by her father. And most of the time, she deserved it. She was, to be blunt, A wicked bitch. Buffy looked at Karie. "Yes, I can wait to see...." But she was cutt off by Tyler's own voice. "Buffy!" He sounded so alien to her.
She got off her horse, letting the men take it away to the stables with Karie and Nuka's. "Tyler." She said with more emotion than she felt. "I've been so worried about you." His voice was full deciet. What's he hiding?
She thought. She hugged him tight. Then followed him inside, followed by Nuka and karie. Karie was, much to Buffy's disliking, seperated from her in the grand hall. Tyler lead her straight up to her room. She was a little confused but followed him in and closed the dorr behind her. After doing so, she turned to him. His expression had changed dramaticly. He no longer looked his pleasant self, but was full of ragged hatered. He slammed her ruffly up against the wall, scaring her. "You think your so fucking smart, running away like that....." Buffy had never seen him this angry, or was he angry?
"But Nuka found you....Pitifly he raped you, from what i heard, you didnt even fight back." She was in complete shock. "What?" she didnt understand. "You havent got it yet, have you?" He smiled now, banishing his scowl. "One of you has it, the Ring." She stared at him blankly. "Excuse me? what Ring? You can have them," she chocked on a sob, "You can have all of them." She lifted her had and pointed at her desser. He laughed cruely, dropped her, and walked to the dresser. He opened th elid, digging out all the jewlery, The rings mostly. Then examining each one like it were a sacred treasure. But he didnt take a single one.
His scowl returned and he growled. "You dont have it." He turned. "But mabey your friend does? No, she doesnt look at all like the type anyway." He chuckled. "You were a good lay while it lasted." And he left.... She'd been nothing but a tool. A tool to find some ring she had no idea whatsoever about...

Skeeta had to get out of her room! She had to reach this girl. She crept to her door, and slid it open. As usaul, the men 'gaurding' her door were asleep. Again on her way, she slammed into someone. she growled, thinking it to be Tyson. "Well, well.." The voice was too deep and handsome to be Tyson's. Her eyes wondered up a very built body. His eyes were black. Only her father had eyes like that....Or so she was told. She was strangely unattracted to him, dispite his great build. "Dont you 'well, well' me!" She half whispered. His hair hung over his eyes. It was all orange like hers, but the tips of his were red. Giving his hair a flamed and on fire look. She stood, studying him. She felt as though she knew him. "Well sorry...." He growled back. "I'd be good if I were you." He smiled, "I learned the hard way. So be good little kidd or dad will send you to an army camp for hard training too." She stared silently. A brother? She pondered.
"Speaking of the man, where is he?" He oviously meant her-correction- their father. "Upstairs, in his courters likely." She watched him pass. He wore a made of leather, excpensive looking, he'd cutt it to make it tight on his throat. why she had no idea. And below it, hung a longer necklace with a wooden cross. Which was odd, because her family had no religion, her father fobid it. He had all the churches shut down when he became King. She continued on her way, meeting no one else in the hallway. She thought about the consept of having a brother. Were they blood related? Or was he a step-brother? She didnt even know his name.
She found her way down to the main enterance, to see Nuka speaking with a dark haired girl. He didnt sound himself, not at all like he usaully did. He sounded....Nice.
"Nuka?" She cautiuosly stept toward him. He snapped around. "Princess Skeeta." He was slow to an answer, like he was hiding something. Great....He thought,Here we go..... Skeeta's eyes wondered and came to at stop to meet the strange girls. "I dont belive we've met." She forgott about Nuka and was being polite going to greet this geust. Or whoever she was "I'm Skeeta." She smiled. She got a weird feeling form this girl, as thought they were destained to meet. "I'm Karie." They shook hands.
Nuka looked worried, Skeeta noticed. "Excuse us..." She pulled him aside, and began to whisper. hoping she didnt look too rude. "What's going on?" Skeeta demanded. "She's here, we suspect her friend has something your father is looking for. I had to befriend her to get her to come with me here." Now Skeeta got it. Her father was still on a mad search for the ring. And she had it! Knowing Nuka, he'd probley end up raping her afterwords. And she couldnt let that happen.
She turned back to Karie. "Come with me. The girl now known as Karie stared idoly for a moment, then nodded, following her. "Where you from?" Skeeta asked starting convertaion. "Here" Karie replied soundeing depressed, skeeta wouldnt press her. Not yet.
They walked back to Skeeta's room. Once entering, Karie gasped. "It's huge." She awed. "It is?" Skeeta had never seen a maid's room. at least, she hoped Karie was a maid. "Very big." Karie complemented. Skeeta put her hand over the ring, letters of blue had appeared on it. -a sign- she thought. Karie must be the bearer? But how to be sure? she would wait and see.

Buffy cried herslef to sleep. She'd felt rapped all over agin. After Tyler had left, she thought about taking her own life, but she had to help Karie out of this awful place first. The question was, How?
She lay awake now, in bed. Thinking of some way to get themselves out. She sat herself slowly up, and looked around. Nothing was as she'd left it. Everything was either torn, ripped, or suprisingly burned. Not to worry though. She didnt plan on being here much longer. And she wouldnt be. Would she?
She dressedherself finally, and went to find Karie. She walked into the hall, and was sized by to large, strong sets of arms. men....but what oculd they possibley want? Hadnt Tyler searched her place aready? countless times by the looks of it. She looked from one to the other. Then finally reacted. "What's the meaning of this?" She shreiked. The two began to drag her down the hall. She was startled to notice neither of them paied attention to her question or her scurming. She repeated her question, this time getting an answer. "If I tell you will you shut-up?" the guy asked harshley and she nodded."The High Lord wishes a word with you." They snickered and the man continued, "Though I highly doubt alotto talking will be done." She hope to hell he was wrong. But why speak with her? The question floated in her minds eye.

Davis stared at the road ahead. They were days to travel yet. Far from close to their destination, he was forced to watch as Kaley and Spike drew closer to one another, barely able to keep their hands off the other. he scratched behind the horses ears for something to do.
"Can we Davis?" Spike's voice flooded his thoughts. "Can we share a tent Davis?" Davis snapped back to bitter reality. "A tent? oh, i geuss." He shrugged. Why not? They probley ventured their way intoeach others tents late at night anyway. What a waste, spending all your time on some female. Davis began to think on again.
So far, with what he had, there was seventy gold coins. Plus, Spike had forty with him when Davis had 'picked him up.' Which put them to one ten. If lucky they oculd make some money on the road. Or Davis could send his owl to his 'friends' for more. He smirked, Spike and Kaley were to busy, again, talking, to notice.

Skeeta had given KArie a place to sleep for the night comfertably. They became good friends overnight. She did long to speak with Buffy, but Skeeta was nice and had let her stay the night, she shouldnt leave abruptly.
Skeeta could not get over the strange feeling she got form Karie. She had to be the one her mother had spoke of. But if the ring had as much power as her mother had said, she'd best make sure she was the one fisrt. she'd ask a few questions. "So Karie," she began, "Where were you born?" Karie smiled lightly. "That's quite a long story." Karie paused hoping against hope Skeeta wouldnt press her on the subject. "Go on.." Skeeta earged. "Well, I was born here. My mother was....well." Skeeta knew she'd hit a very personal question."Please continue.." Skeeta earged. She didnt want to be rude, but this was importent. "She lived in the woman's courters, she paid everything she ever saved up to make me in with the maids before she died." Karie sighed sadly, remembering her mother. Skeeta truley felt for her. She put a hand on Karie's shoulder. She was very honest. Skeeta was pretty sure she was trust worthy. But she was in a sense gulible to belive Nuka.
What was another wuestion she could ask? "Do you know of any myths or legens on a ring?" She'd have to! Kaire looked puzzled. "A ring?" She laughed. "I've heard of evil dargons and wizards, but never rings." She continued gigling. Skeeta looked somewhat disapointed. She'd try something else. "If i let you try on my jewlery, would you give it back?" Skeeta cautioned. "Of course!" Karie had care for others as well.
Skeeta slowly took the ring off her neck, handing it to Kaire. She slipped it on gingerly. It looked elegant on her finger. Without warning, the ring released a flash of light, blinding the two for a slight moment. Skeeta looked shocked at karie. The ring was no longer on her dainty finger, but on her neck. As Skeeta had once worn it. Only now, the rope was replaced by a gold chain. If everything her mother had said was true, Karie had emense paowers now. She was the only one who could remove the ring, she could make almost any wish, and it would come true. As long as the wish was an evil one. And she had the powers of an extreme sorceress. This was a true sign the ring belonged to Kaire. She was the Bearer.
