ÿþ The bright sun shone over Hariel as he sat atop the old warehouse. It had been a long while since he had been able to smile, but he felt calmed whenever he was around her. The calm wind blew over his features, a slight chill coming over him. He hopped from the roof and headed inside, seeing her drooling over Jet again. He sighed a bit and walked over to her, smiling at her. She smiled back at him a little, "So what are we doing for training today?"

Jet laughed a bit at the question and then looked at Hariel, "Today you get to teach her out in the field... I got a subject that I need brought here. She accidentally killed her trainer... after he tried to murder her! She's gonna stay with us for a while... A long while if I get my way. She's a Sableye, someone I knew well. She was last seen hiding out behind the Pokemon Center in the city. Hariel's there to assist you Kana, but you need to catch her yourself. Be careful though, her Shadow Ball and Psychic are hell if they connect. They'd probably kill Hariel if they hit him, so you're also to be his backup. Understand?"

"That's a lot of pressure to put on the girl, sending her after something that could kill her backup... You sure you really want her to do this for her first field assignment? I don't think I'm really in the mood to die either..." Hariel seemed a bit worried, but Jet just smiled at him. He heard words in his mind from the Alakazam, and blushed at them. He didn't expect it himself, but he had done exactly what Jet said in his mind. Hariel wiped away all his doubts and smiled at Kana, "Ready to go?"

"You bet Hariel, let's do this." Kana smiled as she said, the pair heading off together. They looked around cautiously as they walked, keeping an eye out in case the Sableye was closer than Jet had told them. Hariel looked over at Kana, who seemed entirely too calm for her own good. He worried that if she went into it too calm, she wouldn't come back from the mission.

"Kana, you're entirely too calm... Why?" Hariel's voice seemed troubled at the thought, and Kana just smiled at him, not answering. He sighed a bit, "Is there something you're not telling me? Some attack you never told me about in our training?"

"Wouldn't you like to know?" She giggled flirtatiously, kissing his lips softly. Hariel stopped, frozen in shock over her kissing him. He began trembling and stuttering as he tried to speak.

"U-U-Uh... K-Kana... W-What w-w-was that f-f-or..." He shook a little, never expecting her to do something like that. Kana just laughed more and continued on, Hariel following as soon as he got his bearings back. He stared at her as he walked, his suspicions confermed. He was in love with her, and he didn't know what to do. He had been set on death since Kana died, but this new girl brought back all the feelings he had, and more. He was about to speak up when he was interrupted by Kana's voice.

"Hariel, that's gotta be her!" Kana sighed, pointing at a scared-looking Sableye, trembling as she stumbled down the street. Her body was covered in dried blood as she looked at the pair of Pokemon in front of her. She eyes flashed slightly as Hariel was thrown back agains a pole. He winced as he hit, but struggled back to his feet as the Sableye began to speak.

"Stay the fuck away from me! Come any closer and I'll kill you, just like I did my master!" She had a psychotic look in her eyes as she spoke. Hariel began to move towards her, but Kana stepped in his way.

"Don't worry about this one, Hariel... This crazy bitch is mine!" Her eyes glowed red as the fire in her gathered. "Nobody hurts Hariel while I'm around..." She opened her mouth, releasing a tornado of fire that engulfed the Sableye within it. She screamed a bit as the fire knocked her out, dropping her to the ground with minor burns. Kana fell to one knee, panting heavily. Hariel ran to her, shocked at what she just did.

"What the fuck, you knew Fire Spin? Why didn't you tell me? You said you only knew two attacks, Scratch and Growl..." He held Kana and she shook her head telling him she was alright. He went and picked up the Sableye and the pair started back for the hideout. Kana limped with him, sighing softly.

"I never used it before. Master always told me only to use Scratch and Growl... I had to keep you out of the battle though..." She looked at him, worried over him, thinking he wasn't completely honest about being fine.

"You can't knock out a Pokemon using just Scratch... It would have to be so weak!" He looked at her frowning, puzzled at her face. "Did I say something wrong?" She looked so hurt by what he said.

"This one time, a Meowth knocked me out with a Scratch attack..." She sniffled back a tear as he laughed a little, "You meanie, you shouldn't be laughing..."

He walked to her and put an arm around her, "Let's get back home, okay?" Her face changed as he placed his arm around her and she snuggled into it. She had never felt feelings like this for anyone but her master, and she was beginning to doubt how much her master really cared about her. She was beginning to accept the cold, hard truth. Her master hated her, and she just put up with it. The two walked on in silence, returning to the hideout. Jet ran to the pair to check on them and sees the Sableye over Hariel's shoulder.

"Kyoko... I'm not letting you out of my sight this time... I can't believe I let them take you away from me before. Hariel, might I have her now? I will nurse her back to health, I'm a face she'll recognize..." Hariel nodded as Jet spoke and he handed her over to him as he faded once more into the shadows. Hariel winced a bit as he sat back down, holding his ribs tightly. Kana rushed to him worried, tears in her eyes.

"Hariel, you should have told me you were hurt! Ooh... You jerk!" She smacked him softly before falling to her knees crying, "Don't you ever leave me... I can't take that!" He went to speak, but as he opened his mouth to speak, she threw her mouth up to meet his in an impassioned kiss. His eyes opened wide in shock, but he gave in completely, caressing her head softly as they kissed. Seconds and minutes sped along, as they kissed nonstop. Slowly she drew back and Hariel smiled to her.

"I won't leave you... I love you too much... To do that..." He held her close as the pair drifted to sleep, lulled to sleep by the shadows and each other's arms...
