Amy's Pokémon journey

Chapter 4

Narrator: Las time Amy got herself a little Oddish friend and met a mysterious boy named Taji, who seemed to find it odd that Amy could see him.

Amy blinked at Taji in bewilderment, "What do you mean? Of course I can see you…" she said and tilted her head at him, "Why would you ask if I can see you or not?"

Taji looked away, "Nevermind… I was just joking around…" he said and stayed silent for a moment before looking back at Amy.

Amy stared at Taji for a few moments wondering if he truly had been joking around. "It didn't sound like you were joking around… And besides, why would you ask someone if they can see you or not just to joke around? It doesn't make sense to me."

Taji shrugged, "I don't know… Just drop it, its nothing." He said and stood up from the chair and walked over to the counter, "By the way… Your Oddish should be done getting its check up by now." He said, not looking at her.

Just then Nurse Joy walked back into the room holding Oddish, "Miss, your Oddish is in perfect health." She said and smiled warmly at Amy.

Amy couldn't believe her eyes or ears. She couldn't understand how Taji knew that her Oddish's check up was over. She stood up and walked over to the counter next to Taji and stared at him.

"Miss? What are you looking at?" inquired Nurse Joy politely. "Here's your Oddish."

At Nurse Joy's words Amy quickly turned to look at her and blinked dumbfounded eyes at her. "Oh right… Thanks Nurse Joy.." she said before remembering her question, "Can't you see him?" she said as she lifted her hand and pointed a finger at Taji.

Nurse Joy looked at the wall past Taji, "See who?" she asked, sounding slightly concerned for Amy.

Amy's gaze shot to where Taji had been beside her, but he wasn't there anymore. She whirled around and spotted him outside walking away from the Pokécenter. "Umm… Nevermind Nurse Joy…" she said, "Thanks again." She then quickly left the Pokécenter and ran after Taji, "Taji! Wait for me!" she shouted after him.

A certain blue haired girl stared down from on top of the Pokécenter and raised an eyebrow, "Hmm… I see she's found herself a friend." She stated as she watched Amy trail after the white haired boy. "Taji, is it? Now why does that name sound familiar?" she asked herself trying to think of where she might have heard that name before.

"Oh well, I'll think of it later. They're getting away!" she said and jumped down from the building and ran after them while staying in the shadows.

Amy caught up to Taji outside the Pewter Gym, "Taji! I said wait up!" she said out of breath, not quite certain how Taji could have move that fast while still walking.

Taji turned to look at her, "What do you want?" he asked in a slightly annoyed, slightly curious, voice. He turned slightly so he could look at the gym before turning back to Amy.

Amy focused on catching her breath before answering him, "Well… Since you're the only person I know outside of my home town… I thought you and I might be friends and travel together, what do you say?" she asked and smiled warmly at him.

Taji stared at her before smiling back, "Sure.. I'd like that."

Amy stepped up to him and held out her hand, "Shake on it?" she asked, still smiling at him.

Taji hesitated for a moment before tentatively bringing his hand up to hers and taking it in his. He stared as she shook his hand almost as if he didn't believe what she was doing.

Amy grinned at him, "Traveling companions to travel all over the world!" she said and gestured around her. When he didn't say anything she stopped smiling and looked at him, "What's the matter? Is something wrong Taji?" she asked concerned.

Taji just shook his head, "No… Nothings wrong…" he then smiled warmly, "Nothings wrong at all." He said and then got a forlorn look on his face, "Ya know something… I haven't had a friend in a long time." He said wistfully.

Amy smiled at him, "Well, I'm your friend now, and we'll never be apart." She said and smiled, "And my pokémon can be your friends as well." She said held her Oddish up as an example.

"Oddish!" the small leaf pokémon said happily and smiled at Taji.

Taji smiled happily and pet Oddish's leaves. "I'm glad you're my friend Amy."

The blue haired girl, (who will henceforth be known as Aneko, because I'm tired of calling her `The blue haired girl'), sat on top of the gym this time, pondering from where she could have heard the name Taji before. She just couldn't place the name and it was bugging the hell out of her. She frowned, biting her lower lip. "He even looks familiar… But from where…"

She frowned and resisted the urge to groan in annoyance. She was sure she had heard his name and saw his face somewhere before, and she wanted to make sure she knew who Amy was making friends with. Deciding she couldn't keep it in any longer she jumped off the back of the gym and ran into the forest and screamed her annoyance.

Words from author: Sorry for not updating sooner… Just didn't have the inspiration to write… Apparently tonight I did… That, and I was listening to hyper anime music. Because I wrote this in… At least under 2 hours if not under 1 hour. O.o Do not ask my why I came up with anything that may have appeared in this chapter… Because it just popped into my head while I was writing, and thus wrote it. I don't know how long you'll have to wait for the next chapter, hopefully not long though/
