Pokemon Fan Fiction / Pokemon Fan Fiction ❯ Bitter Return ❯ The Long Walk Back. ( Chapter 4 )

Your words to me just a whisper…
Your face is so unclear!
I try to pay attention …
Your words just disappear…

'Cause it's always raining in my head!
Forget all the things I should have said…

So I speak to you in riddles…
Because my words get in my way!
I smoke the whole thing to my head…
And feel it wash away…'Cause I can't take anymore of this!
I want to come apart! Or dig myself a tiny hole inside your precious heart!

'Cause it's always raining in my head!
Forget all the things I should have said…

I am nothing more than…a little boy inside.
That cries out for attention, yet I always try to hide.
'Cause I talk to you like children.
Though I don't know how I feel!

But, I know I'll do the right thing!
If the right thing is revealed!

'Cause it's always raining in my head!
Forget all the things I should have said!
-Epiphany, Staind

He felt the pain deep down as he staggered back towards the stream he had left Riley and Bones at. He was stoned out his fucking head to start with and he couldn't get over the pain he had been inflicted with by Leliah. He could still see that burning rage in her eyes, the confusion as he spoke to her about his past misdeed. The worse was the fear in her eyes as she took Cepheus away.

He was just the lamb's father...in their society he wasn't considered having any rights to see his young. they just made them and that was supposed to be it. For him it was painful, he had loved Leliah and wanted to know their lamb. Why had he been so stupid! Why had he told her anything?

Well he wasn't thinking right at the moment though, he was wondering which stream to follow as he was seeing three in front of him. He was muttering gibberish as his stoned mind was barely keeping him on his way back. He looked at the stream, he considered what it would be like to hop in and never come back up…

What the hell was going on in his life to really keep him from doing it? Not much. Not a whole lot! What did he have to look forward too other than more pain? There wouldn't be many around to miss him neither. He had been living with the hopes of reclaiming Leliah. Now that was impossible, she hated him as much as the flock. Maybe she hated him the most out of the flock now for his lies, his sins from last year. They had caught up with him at last.

There were other ewes that didn't hate him, didn't love him either. That had been just mating. Leliah had been someone beyond that, one special ewe he had actually loved. Now she was gone what was he to do and it was his fault. He had poisoned what they had. He had killed Haris no matter which way he tried to look at it. He had given him a wound that lead to his death. Was he worthy of life for all he had done. For lives he ruined including his own.

But, there was Orin. He couldn't fail his friend. Again… He had been too young and weak fend off the humans that tried to catch them all. They had taken Orin and it was just luck Dori and Bones had gotten free of them. He had promised he would help Riley too…

He placed a flipper over the pouch and he could feel the power in the stone surging within. He knew going to the west to claim this stone would not change things around for him. Nothing could fix the fucked life he created for himself. He could only survive it for as long as he could endure the suffering. Orin needed help. That help was out there and he would find it then take hold of it.

What would happen once his goals were met? He didn't know all he knew was he had friends to get back to. And he knew he would not come through here again, losing Leliah was too much, he would never come near this flock again he had no reason to anymore.

He staggered back to them, he wanted to sleep, just sleep and worry about anything else when he woke. Bones could only really watch from the tree hollow as the rain poured down. The cubone sighed, Dori was stoned again and this time it had to been a heavy dose he took from the way he was stumbling. Dori flopped down in the rain just laying there with his eyes shut. He was just thinking, he didn't feel like moving an inch. Maybe tomorrow would bring a better day.
