Pokemon Fan Fiction / Pokemon Fan Fiction ❯ Dawn Chasers ❯ Beach Days ( Chapter 1 )
Warm sunlight poured over the sandy beach. Reflecting its rays off the water and shining particles of soft white sand. A crimson haired beauty and her cerulean haired friend sat under an umbrella basking in the warmth of the morning sun and chatting lightly. "Ah….it's about time we got a break. Don't you agree Jessie?" asked the young cerulean haired man who sat in a beach chair beside his crimson haired friend. "Yeah….it's about time alright. I'm sick and tired of wasting my valuable time on those twerps and their stupid, sadistic, rat." Jessie replied leaning back against her own beach chair and stretching out.
James chuckled and looked over at her. Even through sunglasses which added a tint to her pale skin, she was beautiful. "You're quite right Jess. But you know we can't go back to headquarters empty handed again." James stated in a melancholy tone. She looked over at him. She knew exactly what was plaguing his thoughts. "James, he already thinks we're failures. What's the difference?" He shrugged. "I suppose your right." He said, thinking it over. "But how did you know what I was…"he was interrupted by Jessie. "What you were thinking? James, I've spent most of my life with you. I think it's pretty easy to know what you're thinking by now." She smiled. He returned the favor, remembering now why she was his best friend.
His emerald eyes swept over her. She wore a simple black bikini and black sunglasses. He wore the same sunglasses but a Speedo instead of a bikini. His eyes lingered as he slipped into a daze. "James? Earth to James!" said Jessie, a tinge of anger in her voice when he did not immediately respond. Shaking his head he asked, "Yes?" Jessie blinked and asked. "You back?" James nodded. "Yeah. Sorry bout that. I kinda zoned out." "I noticed." She stated, looking out at the ocean. James noticed Meowth was no where to be found and, thinking perhaps he could start a conversation with this, asked, "Where's Meowth?" She slowly turned her head to look at him better and shrugged.
"You think maybe we should go look for him?" asked James making another attempt at trying to start a conversation. "Go ahead." said Jessie turning forward once more. He sighed, "But Jess…." He was interrupted by her quick retort. "If you're so worried, go right ahead and look for him. Now!" James stood up and began walking toward the trees in search of the cream colored cat. Jessie turned in her chair to watch him go, admiring his shapely bottom all the way. "You didn't really have to go moron." She said, smiling and turning back around in her chair. She wondered why she was so mean to him at times.
She felt a tinge of pain, bringing back many memories of times when she lost her temper and took it out on her friend. "Oh James…." she sighed. "Yes?" came the familiar voice. She jumped and looked up at him. "You needed me for something?" he asked sitting down beside her. "Uh….." she sweatdropped. "Is it lunch time yet?" she asked, quickly changing the subject. He looked around, "I don't see why not." He said, rising and walking over to the grill.
Realizing he had said nothing about Meowth since his return she asked, "Oh yeah! What about Meowth. Did you find him?" she queried, rolling on her side to better see James. "Oh Fuck Meowth!" James said, voice rising. Her eyes grew wide. "Really?" asked Jessie. "No! Jess! Not like that!" shouted James blushing and turning away quickly. She chuckled, "Oh James I know what you meant. But I just couldn't help myself. You should have seen your face!" she said, laughing uncontrollably at his expression of disgust and embarrassment. "I'm sorry James." She said, suppressing a smile. James turned and looked at her. "If you mean that, look me in the eyes and don't laugh." She looked deeply into his eyes and almost immediately after broke into hysterical laughter. "I knew it." muttered James sitting down on the edge of his beach chair. "No….James….I'm really…..sorry!" she said between sudden bursts of laughter. "Sure you are…." He said quietly. Her laughter stopped and she gazed at him seriously. "No, James, I mean it. I'm sorry." She said solemnly without and bursts of laughter. He brightened slightly. "Promise?" he asked. She nodded. "Promise." She said in reply. He smiled, "So….want some lunch?"
