Premonitions

Author's Note: Okay, I know some people got a little peeved that I asked for six reviews before posting this chapter so I figure maybe I should explain my reasons.

First of all, I have posted two other fics, one of which got only one review (and that was from me); the other got five, three of which were mostly complaining about my pairing (thus my warning). I just wanted to make sure it was worth my time to write more. Sorry if it offended anyone. Anyway, here's the second chappy.

Oh, wait…WARNING TO ALL ASH/MISTY-ONLY FANS: This is NOT an Ash/Misty fic. Do not review this with complaints about that. Please see chapter 1 for the rest of the warning.

Disclaimer: Alright, let's keep this short and sweet…I don't own anyone in this story, or the computer it was typed on, so don't bother suing me, it ain't worth it.

Chapter 2

))))))))))

"Misty!" James called and waved. "I love you!"

"Misty, what's going on? Are you and James together?" Brock demanded.

"Hold on a minute! Who are you to demand answers from me? I don't have to explain anything!" She answered haughtily.

"Misty, are you leaving with James?" asked Ash, still a bit confused.

Misty stood at the gate of destiny, trying to choose her path.

))))))))

"Misty, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you. But I don't understand, why would you want James?" Brock asked in confusion. It didn't seem right. Misty was his friend, and truth be told, he kind of liked her, even though he had a hard time admitting it, even to himself. How could she be with their enemy James?

"I think the three of us need to talk. Ash, could you go get some firewood so that Brock, James, and I can talk in private? Please?" Misty asked.

"Uh, sure, I guess." Ash still didn't understand any of what was going on but was looking forward to not being any more confused.

))))))))))

Misty, Brock, and James sat together on a blanket on the ground. "Well, what did you need to talk about?" Asked James.

"Yeah, Misty, what is it?"

Misty inhaled deeply, held it for a moment, then exhaled slowly. "I need to explain my feelings to both of you. This isn't easy for me, so please don't say anything until I'm done or I may not ever finish, okay?"

"Of course" Said James.

"Sure." Said Brock.

"Okay, here goes. I used to have a crush on Brock." Brock let out a short choked sound and Misty paused to let him regain his composure. When he was all right, she continued, speaking to him for a while. "I used to get jealous when you would start drooling over every girl we came across. I wanted to scream at you sometimes that I was the one you should have been with, not them. But I knew you didn't feel the same for me so I stayed quiet. I didn't want to make things weird in the group."

She turned to James. "And then you and I got together in the hotel a month ago. (It isn't quite what you think. If you are 18 or older check out Intimate Hormones by me for the whole story. It's rated "R" but I don't think it's really THAT bad…It's mostly just to insure no small children read it. The bad one is Rated NC-17.) When you helped me that night, I realized that there could be something between us. I fell in love with you. Brock is still my friend and I love him, just not the way I used to. I don't want to cause problems, Brock, but I love James." She reached out to James and hugged him. "I have something for you." She handed him a black velvet pouch. "I think these belong to you."

"Wait a minute, you two got together in a hotel?" Asked Brock, astounded.

"Yeah. I had a problem and he happened to be there. We got to talking and I fell for him." Misty responded.

James opened the pouch to discover his bottle caps. "Oooohhh! How did you get them from the woman?"

"Oh, I gave the woman the money for them. She bought them and gave them back to me. I felt bad for you, having to sell your bottle caps. I knew how much they meant to you. You should have them." James pulled her close and gave her a long, sweet kiss. Misty felt as if she was turning into water. She was glad that she wasn't standing, since her knees felt like Jell-O. The kiss was heaven. "I love you." He said when they parted.

I know, I know, it was short. I want to have another couple of chapters on this one so bear with me. Since it upset some people that I asked for six reviews (which I still don't think is all that much to ask, some people ask for ten or more…oh, well) I won't ask for a specific number this time. I do ask however that if you see something I could improve on in my story that you tell me, otherwise I may not realize there's a problem. Likewise if you like my story, tell me. Otherwise I don't know when I'm doing well.

The next chapter is already in the works so please R&R.

Ja Ne!
