ÿþ Charizard landed hard in the ground, a grim look on his face as he let Pikachu down. Pikachu spoke softly to the two of them, "Come on... He's... Not gonna make it much longer..." As Pikachu spoke, tears streamed from Delia's eyes.

"N-No... Not him... too... I lost his father... If I lose him... It'll... Kill me..." She ran to Charizard and leapt onto his back, motioning for Professor Oak to follow her. "Come on Charizard, get me to my son... I'm not gonna let him die on me!" Oak hopped on after her, Pikachu diving into Charizard's arms again. He held her tight to him as he flapped his wings, ascending high into the sky. He sped forward with a mighty growl, breaking speeds like no other creature before. Delia gripped hard onto Charizard as he flew, bringing memories back to her mind.

It was nine years ago when she first knew the pain of true loss, when her husband, Alex Ketchum, was lost at sea following the crash of his jet on the way to Silph Headquarters to begin a standard inquiry regarding illegal activities within the Silph Corporation. Alex was the second-in-command of the multi-billion dollar Rocket Corporation, and a master in the Pokemon League. It had been believed that Silph had sabotaged the plane, but they never found proof, or a body. She had never been the same since. It would be the end of her life completely if she lost her son too. She looked down as she saw the Pokemon Center and her tears stopped, " I'll be strong for him... I will not lose him now..."

Charizard landed on the ground, the two adults jumping from his back and running inside. Charizard and Pikachu were walking into the Center when he stopped suddenly and looked into her eyes, kissing her deeply. Pikachu trembled slightly as Charizard drew back, smiling.

"I love you Pikachu..." Charizard said as he walked to a seat, Pikachu snuggling into him silently. Delia and Samuel walked back into Ash's room, Delia sitting beside him and stroking his hair.

"Hold on son... I know you can survive this..." She lied her head down on his chest crying, "P-Please... Hold on..."
