James walked along the silent halls that lead him to the arena, the crowds that had come were all gone. The silence filled his soul with a bit of fear, nervous about meeting with a royal family member. All he ever heard about royalty had portrayed them as obnoxious snobs, bickering over useless bits of information and forgetting about the leadership duties required of their position. He thought the reason they all empires died out was due to their own stupidity. He walked it the arena and a young man was standing there, his back turned.

"So you've come, young master... Welcome to this arena, closed many years ago. The royal family, long ago, used this floor to decide their Key Guards. Our Key Guards were in charge of maintaining the Seal of the Island Damned. They died out long ago... at least the originals did. I am Golem Heishazaki... Guard of the Stone Key. I will be your test to see if you are truly strong enough to see the representative from the family. Beat me, and I will give you my Seal Key, and directions to where you should go to meet the representative! I challenge you to a 2-on-2 Pokemon Battle for the Stone Key!" Hey drew out a Pokeball and smirked some, "Do you accept, you hatchling?"

James growled a bit, "I'm no hatchling! I will make you eat those words, guardian..." He drew out a Pokeball as Golem sent out his. Golem sent out an enormous Onix, and James smirked at the choice.

"Did you pay no attention? My Celebi will destroy you!" James sent out the Celebi, and Golem laughed some.

"Oh I did... But it makes no difference! My Stone Key voids all weaknesses my Rock Type Pokemon have in this gym! Which means Solarbeam and Giga Drain are useless against me now! Let's see how your intellect holds up now, youngling!" Golem spoke as James stood, puzzled. He scratched his head a bit as Onix started to attack. A thought popped in James' mind and he panicked.

"Celebi, I'll channel you! Dodge and release a Dark Supernova attack!" The room went black as Celebi began to charge one last time, releasing the chaotic attack of pure darkness. The blast enveloped the whole room, causing damage to all in the arena. Onix, James, and Golem were all hit by the force. James fell to his knees panting, having had to take the energy from the attack through himself to save Celebi from knockout.

"Haha! You caught me with that one.. But you'll never beat my next Pokemon..." He tossed away his jacket, bearing his chest and taking a fighting stance, rock plates covering his body. "My next Pokemon... is me! You must be your next Pokemon as well... Let's see if you pull this one off hatchling!" James pops his neck and takes his stance, willing to fight without a Pokemon ability. Golem smiles some at him, before deactivating the power of his key. "Here kid... I don't think I'm gonna need this thing now. This battle's mine if you haven't the ability to attack through my plating..."
