Lazy Finally Does Something Useful - Chapter 6
"Lazy, you're not so quick yourself." Garnet laughed as he dangled helplessly and whimpered when he saw the dark, swirling water beneath him. "But look on the bright side, it's a chance of a lifetime to fly!" She joked and watched as she made him float all the way until he reached the submarine, landing neatly on the telescope part. Lazy turned a bit pale and shuddered, "Never will sail, never hope to. Never want to fly neither." He turned around to call to Garnet and found himself staring at the face of a Team Aqua member. "Lazy, you fool. You're standing right in front of the telescope, what are you thinking of? Now you've been spotted, great. Try escaping, please? Go attract attention and don't run off to the shore until you're sure they'll follow you, got it? Try drawing them farther away; can you at least do that? I'll see ya soon, I'm off to `save the world', and I'm not using an expression this time." Lazy shuddered. Was he hearing things? It had never been reported of a Slakoth hearing things and going crazy, at least some false alarms were realized to be sleep-walking, hmmm…what was it them? Then he suddenly remembered that he was seen and that the Team Aqua members were advancing on him. Screeching, he ran away and made an attempt to leap at the shore, but stopped when he saw the water. The dark, gloomy, the life-stealing, frighteningly scary, deep and mysterious water was at his feet, about to pull him in. Screaming as if his life depended on it, he screamed and screeched and howled, not caring about showing his fear, something he just felt like doing with no true reason. He suddenly was aware that the Team Aqua members were backing off, right towards the water! He kept it up until they had waded knee-deep into the water without their slightest notation, and pushed the nearest one as hard as he could.
All of a sudden, he finally remembered Garnet, the `wonder pokemon who had powers beyond his understanding'; at least, that's what they called her at Quiet Canyon, though she wasn't Princess of Quiet canyon anyways. Finally, after pondering about why were they so respectful towards her except for the fact that she was a good pokemon, he sort of understood. Garnet had secret powers that could save lives (if used correctly) and could do this like a breeze, in secret and unseen. Garnet could turn invisible, not to mention control many physic powers. Befriending her would mean getting her protection. So, it twas Garnet who whispered that, pity she didn't see this! He sniggered quietly and watched calmly as the stupid Team Aqua grunts tumbled into the water, not rising immediately. They finally dropped to the bottom, lying there in their watery tombs, forever the possession of the sea.
Lazy looked about. No more fools to conquer, how boring. He climbed on top off the telescope, trying not to fall asleep from boredom. I never get any fun, no fair. Garnet got the cool, action packed, life-saving fun part! And I'm left for the boring and pointless watch out duty. This is so boring I can't even be sarcastic about it. Typical…Lazy mumbled and decided to do something he didn't think he was supposed to do, but he did anyways because he was a naughty `little' Slakoth, and he did dumb stuff all the time when he got bored. He peered into the curved, skinny, telescope-like thingy and nearly yelled with shock when he saw an eye, peering back. Unlike Lazy, who got surprises all the time, the person screamed, making Lazy jump at the horrible noise humans can make when their scared. It was scary itself, though his scream isn't exactly normal neither. "Aagh! Eeek! Aaah! There's something there, aah! An ugly pokemon, eek! Bootbrain, do something! Turkeybrain, you too! Get someone to come! Someone with pokemon at least! Do something! Or we'll soon all be dead!" The ones referred as `Bootbrain' and `Dinobreath' winced at the names and hastily called the boss for some back up. Soon two Team Aqua grunts arrived, peering through the telescope and laughing. "This is what you call a hideous monster? A Slakoth? Yeah right, you must have looked in the mirror and mistaken yourselves for one! This'll be too easy, I wouldn't bother if the boss hadn't called us for it. And by the way, the battle between Team Aqua and Magma is totally boring to watch anyway, we are winning by a lot, so what's the point of battling, puh! What harm can Numels do?" "J-Just get that thing away!" The guy whimpered while the two grunts brushed pass them and on top of the submarine/lab. They both decided to use the pokemon they just caught, so this training could actually count. A Carvannah and a Crawdaunt appeared. Lazy backed off a bit. One against two isn't always so fair. "Carvannah, just finish this thing off with a bite. And Crawdaunt, do us a favor? Chase it off the sub, we'll have to wash it again if you don't!" Lazy, like any Slakoth was not fast until it evolved into a Vigoroth, and could not dodge the attacks. He clung on the sub for dear life and slashed at them whenever he could. Suddenly, a slowpoke clambered up and started to glow purplish. Immediately, the Carvannah was pulled into mid-air and started to do some summersaults unwillingly. The Crawdaunt raced, but Lazy had changed position so that he crashed headfirst into the Slowpoke, swimming hastily to the shore. The Carvannah fell with a considerably loud Clang! against the metal. Slowpoke was now rather provoked that he was touching water at all, preferring the shore and having to jump onto the sub. Swimming lazily back to the shore, it continued battling by crashing the Crawdaunt several times against some rocks until it fainted. By that time, Carvannah had shook off his dizziness and was charging at Lazy. Helpless, he sidestepped and found the Carvannah shooting water at him like missiles. The grunt that owned the Crawdaunt had reluctantly returned it when the sub had floated a bit and was shouting at the other grunt for `making' him use his new pokemon and losing his first battle with it. They ignored the fact that the Carvannah was getting some slashes when Lazy found it was rather weak and not high leveled, judging by the amount the water gun stung and how he was shooting bubbles now. After some time they stopped arguing enough to realize that the Carvannah had fainted when Lazy was thoroughly annoyed by getting bitten on his good arm (though rather weakly). The two grunts gaped at Lazy and the slowpoke, which had rejoined the battle, feeling quite unfinished when the he was done with the Crawdaunt. The grunts recovered quickly and ran off like chickens (they were in the first place, they weren't battling against Team Magma.) Lazy turned to the slowpoke with the same amazement. "How'd ya do that?" He was all he could ask. "Don't know." He shrugged back. "I surprised myself. It must be one of the attacks I can only use when I'm in a battle."
