Chapter 1
“Bringing Ranma and Ash from China. Saotome.”
Mr. Waterflower cried as he read it. “At last our two schools of martial arts will be joined! Daisy! Rose! Lilac! Misty!”
Daisy was on the phone with her boyfriend, gabbing her head off, while Rose was trying on makeup. Lilac was in the kitchen putting a chicken in the oven, while Misty was nowhere to be seen.
“What is it, father?” Rose asked.
“A great friend of mine, Genma Saotome, is bringing his sons here.” Aqua Waterflower said. “Now if one of you would marry one of them, then our schools of martial arts pokemon mastery would be joined!”
Daisy shook her head. “No way. Younger men bore me.”
“Well, count me out.” Lilac said. “I'm too busy playing the housewife.”
“Boys? Yuck!” Misty spat.
Rose looked interested. “Is he cute? I hope he's cute. I don't have a steady boyfriend right now.”
“So what are they like?”
“Er… I have no idea. I haven't seen them in twelve years.”
“WHAT?!”
“Father!” Misty cried. “This is crazy!”
“But they're coming over this afternoon!” Aqua said very helpfully. “You'll meet them and get to decide for yourselves.”
Three of the girls scowled, Rose did not; dare we say she looked a tad excited? * Maybe my soul mate will come… *
Elsewhere…
“You _what_?”
A girl with red hair in a pigtail and black Chinese clothes stood there, hands on her hips, as she faced a giant panda. Nearby was a red-haired boy with golden eyes was holding a black kitten in his arms.
“What do you mean I have a fiancée! You just told me this three minutes ago! I refuse! I'm not marrying a girl I've never met!”
The Panda growled, picked up a street sign, and hit the girl over the head with it, knocking her out, before slinging her on his back and walking on.
The boy with the cat followed.
A knock sounded on the door.
“Are they here already?” Lilac asked. “The tea isn't done yet… oh well, let's go see. Perhaps it will be all right.”
“I hope he's cute!” Rose said, following her.
Misty scowled, but followed, while Daisy went upstairs to her room and refused to come out.
A gigantic panda stood there.
“A panda?”
“Your friend is a panda, father?”
The panda growled and pushed the boy forwards, as said boy gave him a death glare, and the cat hissed.
“Are you-.”
“Ranma Saotome? Unfortunately I'm not. I'm Lance Dragyn, heir to the Draconsis school of Pokemon Training.” The boy introduced himself.
“Oh! I see…” Rose said disappointedly. “Are you engaged to one of us also?”
Lance twitched. “Not that I know of…”
The cat continued to hiss, as Misty reached out a hand to pet it.
“Wait!” Lance said. “Ash might bite you if he's not happy.”
“Ash?”
“But if you are traveling with them, where _are_ the Saotomes?” Aqua questioned.
There was a splash from the back, and a man dressed in a worn white gi with a kerchief tied over his bald scalp walked out carrying a fainted boy. “Right here, old friend!”
“Is that Ranma?” Lilac asked excitedly.
Genma nodded.
“Oh, happy day! At last our schools will be joined!” The two men immediately broke open bottles of sake and began drinking.
“He _is_ pretty cute though.” Rose sparkled.
Misty sighed. “I guess… then you take him!”
“Excuse me,” Lance asked, drawing attention back to him, “But do you mind if I get a glass of water from the kitchen?”
“Go ahead.” Lilac said absentmindedly.
“By the way, why _are_ you traveling with the Saotomes?” Misty asked, as she followed him in.
Lance poured himself a glass of hot water and turned around. “Oh. Well, I'm Ash's best friend.”
“By the way, where _is_ Ash?”
“Well, unfortunately he's gotten himself lost again. It tends to happen a lot.” Lance said, holding the cat to his chest protectively.
“Then do you want to spar for fun?” Misty asked.
Lance raised his eyebrows. “You want to battle me?”
“Sure! I won't hurt you too much!”
“Just a second… where's the bathroom?”
“Down the hall, to the right.” Lilac answered, hearing his inquiry. Lance thanked her, drank the water, and then walked inside.
The cat mewed as Lance poured a few drops of hot water on him.
“Sorry, Ash.” Lance whispered.
“Not your fault.” Ash said, frowning. “You have my clothes, right?”
Lance handed Ash his clothes. “Now, how do we explain your sudden appearance to them?”
“Same excuse you used earlier, bad sense of direction.”
“Same excuse you used earlier, bad sense of direction.”
“That'll work.”
Misty's eyes widened as Lance walked out, followed by a black-haired boy in a red Chinese shirt and black pants. “Where did he come from?”
“That's Ash.” Lance said. “He always seems to be ready to find me, despite his horribly bad direction sense.”
“… Oh.”
“Well, shall we go to the hall now?”
Lance smirked as Ash winked back, and followed her to the dojo.
Misty immediately attacked with a front thrust kick, followed by the jab/reverse punch combination, but Lance just dodged… and kept dodging, the roundhouse kicks and straight punches. Finally, he got bored and tapped Misty on one particular spot in the back, making her fall to her knees.
“It's impossible to beat Lance-chan.” Ash said helpfully. “Even without pokemon.”
“-Chan?” Rose asked, confused. “Isn't that a designation usually used for girls?”
“We're friends.” Was all Ash said, before the fourteen-year-old attacked Lance as well. Lance rolled his eyes, and dodged and parried, finally pinning Ash to the ground with a clever move, before letting go.
“Yes, well do quit doing that.”
“Hai!”
That was when a scream echoed through the house.

******************************Bonus Flashback**************************
Seven-year old Ash Ketchum at outside a monastery while Ranma and his father were inside, talking to someone.
“Hi.”
“Hi.” Ash replied, looking at the red haired boy. “Do I know you?”
“No, but my father is talking to your father.” Lance said. “I'm Lance Dragyn.”
“I'm Ash Saotome.”
“Do you do martial arts?”
“A little.” Ash said. “But my brother is a lot better…”
That was when Genma came out.
“Your father's dead, boy, you're coming with us.” He was in a good mood, since he had gotten $20000 in the deal to take Lance.
“All right.” Lance said, following Ash.
Ash smiled shyly, as he took Lance's hand. Maybe they would be friends.
