Chapter 9
Oak left, and both Red and Lance breathed a sigh of relief.
“What should I do now?”
“Master?”
Red nodded, than made a wish. “I wish that this dwelling was returned to its normal state, all the damage undone.”
“Granted,” Lance chanted in monotone, but his eyes were clearer when they refocused. He smiled.
“Master managed to bluff the Professor well.”
“I guess I did.” Red was quite relieved. “I won't let him take you away from me.”
Lance grinned. “Nice Master…”
Really though, as time passed, he was finding it harder to ignore his hormones… but he would persevere! He would!
Never mind that he was already of age should he consent to what he wanted…
“Red?”
“Yes, Lance?” Red noticed that Lance had dropped the `Master'. There was a bit of time lag after wishes, but it was cute!
The pokemon blinked, and settled his wings for a second and than smiled. “Why are you here?”
“Eh? What do you mean?”
“Doesn't Master have a home in Pallet?”
“Yes, why?”
“Then why doesn't Master stay there?”
Red patted Lance on the head, before drawing him into an embrace. Lance really wasn't that much taller than he was, only by a head or so, but comfort was something he liked. He'd grown taller, a few inches too, so now the height difference was less.
Red didn't mind being touchy-feely to keep his pokemon happy.
He sighed as he hugged Lance. “It's complicated.”
Lance blinked at him. Red smiled. “Don't worry about it. I'm doing it to protect you.”
“Protect me?” Lance's eyes cleared. “Ah, from the Professor.”
“Yes.”
Sometimes it seemed that Lance was shifting between states of being, and it was unnerving, but he'd gotten used to it.
It was… just something he was now used to. He did not think Lance was strange.
Acceptance was important to pokemon. Red did not know this, but his pokemon did, and they were glad that Red accepted them unconditionally, so it was lucky he'd caught Lance. Lance knew this too.
If he were condemned to be a pokemon for the remainder of his life, so be it.
However, he was going to stay with Red.
“I will do anything for you….”
Red snapped out of his trance. “Did you say something, Lance?”
The pokemon smiled and shook his head, laughing inwardly. Red could stay as virtuous as he wished, but his control was growing weaker…
Lance could have seduced him long ago, but no pressure…
Red sighed as he hugged Lance. “Thank you for staying with me. I know you don't have to.”
However, if Red did not stop being so naïve and actually got around to doing something… they didn't even kiss much, and that was saying something.
Red's petting was seriously turning him on… and Red didn't even know! Oh well. Eventually, things would come to a head.
Things did.
Not two weeks later, Crystal walked in on Red and Lance. Admittedly, they were underneath the covers, but still…
It was rather a shock for the pokemon girl.
“I love you.”
“I love you too, Lance.” Red whispered. It was fascinating, and Lance hadn't even cut him, even with all his sharp features. Amazing.
Lance smirked. “I know.”
“What?” Did he hear my thoughts, Red wondered. It couldn't be… but if he could feel Lance's feelings occasionally, why not?
It still made him blush though.
Lance smirked, and Red sighed. It was an odd blend of human and pokemon in his arms, but he appreciated it…
Red wondered what would happen next, but then again, he could handle it. He was confident that as long as he had Lance and his other pokemon, he could deal with anything. The boy was an optimist after all.
Crystal was not happy though.
She didn't count against Red's pokemon limit anymore, since as Champion of the Kanto League Red could carry as many pokemon as he wished, although he had not discovered the override password until recently.
It was quite handy, although he didn't keep more than two or three extra.
Red did have a pretty much-set team he liked to use, and no one protested it. It was just the way things were. Hmm. He hadn't seen Blue or Green in a while. How were they doing?
Hopefully, they hadn't become human pokemon. That would be scary…
“I don't like you.”
“I don't like you either.” Lance said, as he licked his claws clean of blood. Some rampaging Machamp had almost hurt his Master yesterday. Luckily, he hadn't lasted long. Then Master had captured that annoying pokémon and sent him off to the Professor.
Crystal bared her teeth. Lance shrugged. The girl was a weak Normal type, even being part ghost. All she knew was Scratch and Screech. Worthless.
Not like him. He was a Dragon-type and Ghost to boot.
Crystal did not like this person. She had been warned that Red might have other human pokemon, but had ignored it. Surely she was unique!
Now she knew how wrong she had been…
Lance smirked, catching that thought. Foolish girl. She ought to just leave and find another Trainer to take her in. She had no place here!
Crystal glared back. She was not giving up! Red was cute and Kanto Champion and she would have him! This freak of nature didn't deserve him! He did not even look human any more, unlike her, who was still her beautiful self!
Sparks shot between the two.
Red sighed as he watched. He didn't like Crystal either, but he was too kind hearted to just kick her out of his life.
If this continued though, he might have to. Lance could be awfully dangerous…
