Chapter One
“Hurry up, Axle; we gotta get home in five minutes! You're the one who said we should go sleep early.”
“Hang on, Ken, let me just pay for this! I'm gonna need it for the start of classes tomorrow!”
“I dunno why you didn't buy it two weeks ago like you were supposed to…”
“I had a lot to do then!”
“Deciding what pose you want to use after you catch a Pokemon is _not_ my idea of `a lot to do'.”
“Oh, shut up…”
A boy walked up to the counter of the store balancing several textbooks in one hand. He had red hair and blue eyes.
He had a dark red long sleeve with a hood under a regular red shirt that was open in the front. He had a pair of black pants made out of a soft but firm material with many pockets sewn into it, and a couple of loops made of fabric hanging off the sides of his pants. His shoes were made of a decent material that wouldn't wear down so quickly. He had a pair of black fingerless gloves with a sort of a pale colored metal band on his wrist. He also wore a black belt with red edges that had a single red and white ball attached to it, along with a PDA and a red cell phone.
His companion wore similar garments, though the red was replaced with blue. He had no long sleeved shirt, and his shirt was a solid blue with a line of ice blue running near the bottom. His hair was blue with streaks of a lighter blue, and his eyes was a black-blue color. He didn't have gloves either, but had navy wristbands. His belt was black with blue edges, had two PokeBalls attached to it, a PDA, and a blue cell phone.
The blue head, `Ken' placed a book on top of the other books. “Well, since you're getting those, I guess you won't mind if you bought me this comic, since you dragged me here, huh?”
The red head, `Axle', replied. “Gee, so that's your payment?” he looked at the price and his eyes boggled. “This costs as much as one of these textbooks! No way! Get it yourself!”
Ken took the comic back. “Fine…”
After Axle paid for the books, they left the store. They passed by the Academy, and Axle stopped, looking at it. Ken groaned.
“Jeez, do you have to stop at this place every time we pass?”
“I can't help it! We were admitted to the Academy! This is gonna be our home for the next three years! Well, except for holidays and summer vacation, of course…”
“I'm ecstatic too, Axle, but you don't see me just staring blankly at it…”
Just then, a young girl quickly walked past them. She had black hair that barely brushed her shoulders in a braid with a light pink ribbon tied at the end. She wore a long sleeved black shirt with bell sleeves. She had a black skirt that reached her ankles and sandals. A similar pink ribbon was tied around her waist and into a big bow in the back. She had gone too fast for them to see her eyes, but they saw she had a pile of books in her arms.
There was silence for a minute after she passed.
“Hey, she was kinda cute…”
“Ken, shut up, you flirt.”

The Next Day
“Wow! Look at all these people!”Axle shouted, several suitcases next to him. He had a red and black backpack. [Like Ash's in Pokemon Advance]
Ken looked at him, placing his suitcases down. “You _do_ realize that there's only a hundred people here? These are only the first years.” He had a blue and black backpack. [Again, just like Ash's.]
“First years?”
“…You didn't read the handbook we got in the mail, did you?”
“Handbook? I didn't get a handbook!”
“And there's my answer.” Ken shook his head and sighed.
“So there's only about a hundred people here?” Axle asked.
“Yeah. All of them are new students. There will probably even more, tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?”
“Uh huh. Today all of the first year students get their stuff in their dorms. Then, tomorrow the second and third years students do the same. On the third day, that's when classes start.”
“Oh, I see. So, we get to sleep in our dorms tonight?”
“Yeah. But first, we have to go look up our dorms number on that board over there.” Ken pointed to a board in the middle of the courtyard.
The two boys walked over to it, a swarm of students crowded around it. They pushed their way to the front and scanned the wood.
“Alright! We're right next to each other!”
“On the first floor too…guess we won't be late to any classes…”
“Uh…right…huh, it looks like my dorm is the second next to the stairs…11B…and yours is the third…11C…I wonder who that Ashley girl is?”
“No idea. C'mon, let's get our stuff inside.”
They dragged their suitcases to the first year building and up the stairs. They passed the first door, and Axle stopped at the second. Ken stopped at the door next to his.
“Guess I'll see ya later. We're gonna meet the people next to us, right?”
“Yup. Just as soon as we unpack. After we meet, we invite them over to your place.”
“Okay. See ya! …Hey, wait a minute!””
Axle grumbled, stepped inside the room, and his eyes widened. There was a fully furnished kitchen, living room, and bedroom. The living room had a couch, TV set, and a glass coffee table.
He looked into the bedroom. It had a four-poster bed and a wooden dresser. There was a door that led to bathroom, which had a deep bathtub, a sink, and a cabinet.
After Axle took a good look around at what he called the `mini mansion', he unpacked his clothes and repacked them into the dresser.
He then remembered his Pokemon. They deserved to see their new home for the next year.
He released his two Pokemon. His Pichu shook its head and looked around. His Charmander blinked.
“Okay guys, this is gonna be our home for the next year!”
The two Pokemon stared at him.
“What?”
They shook their heads and started to look around. Axle decided to go and say hi to his other neighbor. Somehow, the Pokemon thought they were going too.
“I'll only be a minute…just stay here!”
A minute later, Axle stood outside his neighbor's door, looking a bit singed. Pichu and Charmander stood next to him.
“So just because I didn't let you go, you attack me with fire and electricity? So that's the thanks I get…”
He knocked on the door. There wasn't an answer.
“Maybe they're not in yet…”
“Um…help? Uh…can someone help me?”
Axle looked down the balcony. A girl in black was struggling to get her three suitcases along with a backpack to the staircase.
“Hey, do you need help?”
The girl looked around in surprise.
“Up here!”
She looked up. “Oh…um…yes, I would appreciate it…”
“Just wait there! I'll be right down.”
Axle ran down the stairs and stopped in front of the girl, thinking all the way he knew her from somewhere.
“I'll take two of these suitcases, and you take the other one, okay?” Axle noted she had black eyes with a tint of red in them.
“Okay.”
Soon, they were able to get all three suitcases up stairs. Axle stopped at the first door.
“So, what's your room number?”
“Um…I think it was…11A.”
They stared at the door, which had the same symbols she had said.
“Oh…um…I guess it's right here…”
“I guess you're my neighbor then. My dorm's right there.” Axle pointed to the next door.
“I guess you're right. Um…I'm Ashley Hoshi…”
“Axemelee Nova. But you can just call me Axle.”
He then remembered where he had seen her before.
“I remember! You were that girl that passed by me and Ken yesterday!”
“Uh…um…pardon me?”
“Oh, sorry, me and my friend Ken had stopped at the Academy for a second, and a girl that looked like you passed by with a armful of books.”
“I…_do_ remember passing the Academy…I think that was me you saw…I forgot to buy my textbooks so I had to run and buy them…”
“Ha…me too…say, do you want to meet up in my dorm after you finish unpacking?”
Ashley blushed. Was he…was he asking her for a…?
Axle saw her face, and started to blush himself.
“I-I mean, not as a date or anything, just as friends! You can meet Ken and the person who lives on the other side of him…”
“Okay…I guess I'll see you in ten minutes…”
“Sure…”
