The Ocean-Liner is nearing the end of its journey. It has traveled for days since leaving the dock in Kanto. Many people are aboard, some are tourists, some are pokemon trainers, and others are people returning home from travels. One such person is Karather'yn Daygo (Kara for short). Since starting her pokemon journey at the unusual age of eight, this sixteen-year-old girl has been away from Hoenn for two years, spending three years in both Johto and Kanto.

She sighs in delight, *Another beautiful day. I can't believe I've been pokemon training for eight years already!* Now, with the wind blowing through her auburn hair and tugging at her clothes, Kara peers across the sea, her sapphire eyes trying to make out the shore on the landmass that was getting bigger by the minute. “2 hours `till we dock at Lapatios Town.” Kara smiles when she hears this announcement. *Almost there. Soon I'll be back home! I suppose I should see my folks, even though they disapprove of me. Well, now that I'm eighteen I'll hopefully be able to face them. I just hope they don't do something as cowardly as using my brother, Michael, as a way to make me feel guilty enough to stay with them.*

Suddenly the loudspeaker interrupted her thoughts again. “ Attention passengers, we have now arrived at Lapitios Town.” She shrugs, “This is it then.” Hefting her backpack, Kara steps out onto the dock. The first thing she notices that there are a lot of people in red and black uniforms. *Team Magma? What are they doing here? What could cause them to take over such a small town like this one?* Kara tries to act as if nothing was wrong as she walks through the streets in the direction of her house. As she gets closer to your destination the houses get bigger, and more expensive. Kara also notices that there are more and more Team Magma members. *NO! They couldn't be…! Why in the world would they be guarding my house?* She quickens her pace, fearing the worst.

Suddenly a voice calls out to her from an alley “Hey! You shouldn't be in this area.” Kara looks and see a tall, skinny woman peering out at her. “Miss Lender?” She questions, recognizing her neighbor. “What are you doing there? Where are my parents? What happened?” Miss Lender motioned Kara to join her in the alley. “You're Jordan's child, aren't you? Of course you are, who else could you be?” she looks up at her, “Sorry, for a moment I couldn't believe that you really were here. Oh yes, you wanted to know what happened?” Seeing her nod, she continues. “Well your father made an important discovery. He found a Groudon fossil. To Team Magma, this could probably present numerous opportunities. Last I heard, your parents were being held prisoner in their own house until they hand over the fossil.”

Kara immediately think of her younger brother. “Miss Lender? Do you think its possible for me to sneak past the guards? My little brother, Michael, shouldn't have to suffer. I want to see if I can rescue him.”

Miss Lender smiles and nods, “Follow me.” She turns and starts down the alleyway. After leading Kara down many streets, back roads and more alleys, she pauses and turns to her. “Stay here. I'm going to be gone for a few minutes to make sure the coast is clear.” Kara nods and hides behind a tree. “I'll be right here.”

Kara watches as Miss. Lender walks down the road and turns a corner. She waits for what seems like hours trying not to jump at each sound. Finally, Miss Lender reappears, and sneaks over to her position. “Coast clear.” Kara sighs in relief and steps out from her hiding place. “The way is tricky,” Miss. Lender says “ But we can get there.” Kara only nods and wait for her to lead the way. After following her for a few more minutes Kara begins to get nervous. “Miss Lender,” She whispers, “I think there is someone following us.” Miss. Lender nods, “Better hurry up then.”

They both start to run through the streets only to suddenly stop in dismay when they reach a dead end. Someone laughs behind them and Kara turns to see two Team Magma Members blocking the way out. “Thanks for bringing her here, Bannai. Now her father will have to give us that fossil.” One of them says *Bannai? Who is he? The only one here with me is Miss Lender. Right?* She looks at Miss Lender in confusion. Miss. Lender only smirks, “Looks like I fooled you with that disguise. Now you belong to Team Magma!” so saying, she throws off the outfit to reveal a purple haired made with an odd green design under one eye and an orange stripe in his hair.

Kara looks frantically for a way out, but before she could do anything, one of the Magma Grunts had fired a Capture Ring at her. Smirking, Bannai strode over to Kara and looked her over, grasping her chin and forcing her to look at him. He grins, “Glare at me all you want. You are not getting away.” One of the grunts grabs Kara by the back of her shirt and pushed Kara forward forcing her to walk.
