AN: I’m repeating what I said in the Prologue: If anyone can relate to the topic in this chapter…no matter by how much; I’m so sorry about bringing up…any painful memories.

Note: “*…*” means Animarium or Hunter language and *…* means talking mentally.

“That was an amazing party,” Ebony said as Alyssa stopped in front of Ebony’s house, “I still can’t believe that Tia is my mom now.”

“I know,” Alyssa replied, “but she’s so caring and understanding with you. Plus, you’ve been though a lot in life and earned this.”

“At least Frank is out of the picture,” Ebony said as she open the car door, “Anyway, call me when you want me to stay over.”

“Sure,” Alyssa replied as Ebony got out of the car.

Once Alyssa drove away, Ebony headed for the house and notice that the lights were off. She found it strange since Tia always put on the light when sunset starts. She got a bad feeling as she entered the house.

Once inside, she saw that the hallway looked as if someone trashed it.

A sound of someone in pain led her to the living room…and to an injured Tia. “Tia!” Ebony said as she ran to her side. From the limited light, Ebony saw that Tia was knocked out with a cut on the side of her head.

Ebony was so worried that she didn’t hear anything…until she felt the knife blade at her neck.

“Hello Ebony,” Frank said in her ear, “guess who’s back?”

He grabbed her arm and dragged her to her feet, saying “I’ve waited six years to get you in my hands. Now…I’m going to finish teaching you a lesson.”

She started to shake with fear as he led her out of the room, the knife still at her neck. ‘Oh god, please send some help,’ she thought, ‘someone…please help me!’

Danny was walking down the street on patrol when he felt everything he needed to know…about his Lifemate being in danger…as he Magically turned into mist. *Celestra, get in touch with Alyssa now,* Danny said Mentally to Celine, *Ebony is in danger and I need you two to get to her house ASAP. I’m on my way there.*

He cut the Link before getting an answer as he went even faster to get to Ebony…before something happens to her.

“Why are you doing this?” Ebony said as Frank tied her wrist to the bedposts, “You lost your parental right when you tried to attack me in the courtroom.”

“I don’t care!” he said as he tightened the rope, causing her pain. He lead her to a spare guestroom to use the rope he stole to tie her in the bed. “You took everything from me,” he said as he held the knife to her neck, “My things, my life and my chance at your money Now I’m going to make sure to take the one thing you treasure the most!”

It only took her a second…to know his true intention. “No!” she yelled as he used the knife to rip her shirt open.

After tossing the knife away; he covered her mouth as he got on top of her saying, “Now…I’m going to finish what I started.”

Ebony was crying as he started touching and biting her. She cried even harder as he moved lower along her body.

AN: I hate going into the mind of, and do mind my language at this time, a F***ing nutcase like Frank, so I’ll make this short and to the point…I hope.

The sound of fear in Ebony’s cries was just what he wanted as he felt her body shaking. In the years he was in prison, he pictured all the ways he was going to get even with his step-daughter.

Now that he has her in his hands, he’ll make sure to ruin Ebony for life…and enjoy himself at the same time.

As he reached to undo her jeans, he thought ‘Now…to enjoy what I’ve been waiting for.’

*Grabbed a pillow and screamed into it, cursing in English and Spanish* …ok, that’s over. *Toss the now wet pillow away* Now…to the good part.

There are times when a person had enough of the trouble in life. That moment came for Ebony…as she just had it with Frank. At that second, Ebony snapped out of her fear…and bitted down on his hand hard.

He yelled as he uncovered her mouth…and hit her hard in the face. The force was strong enough to knock her out.

He smiled at that…before he was hit by a force that tossed him off the bed…and hit the wall in the hallway. As he fell to the floor, all he could see was a pair of blood-red eyes…before he was wrapped in darkness.

After Frank passed out, Danny closed his eyes and trying to calm down his anger…and the darkness in his Soul. Once he felt Ebony pass out, he quickly turn back into flesh…before going through the window and hitting Frank. Nothing matter at that second, not even the pain from the cuts on his face, but to get Frank away from Ebony.

In all of his long life as a Hunter, he never lost his control on his anger…until now.

A gentle touch on his shoulder…and a Power Healing his cuts made him look up at Celine.

She saw the fight he was having in himself…and the cause as she said, “I’ll take care of things from here. Just go get Ebony out of here…and take her to the house.”

At hearing the name of his Lifemate, the last of his anger disappeared from his warm dark brown eyes. “But…what about Tia?” he asked as he stood up.

“She’ll be fine,” she replied, “She’ll have a headache in the morning, but I’ve called her doctor to come check on her. I’ll set things up so Ebony’s present isn’t found when the police come.”

He didn’t hear half of what Celine said as he went to the bed and untied Ebony’s wrists, seeing them red and swollen. Making his long cape appear, he wrapped her in it before he picked her up into his arms and held her as gently as he was able. ‘My Love,’ he thought, ‘I’ll make sure that this never happens to you again.’

He walked out of the room and, with one last look and Frank, headed downstairs.

As he neared the front door, he saw Alyssa with Tia in the living room waiting for the police. He and Tia exchange a look of understanding as she said, “Make sure Ebony’s ok…and that Frank can’t find her.”

Danny nodded his head in agreement before leaving the house…with the one person who can save his Soul.

A pair of dark eyes open, sensing what had…almost happened. ‘So…one of the Hunters is losing his control over the darkness,’ it thought, ‘Well, we’ll see if I can’t change it for the worst.’

With that in mind; Master Org, leader of the orgs, said aloud “Toxica, come.”

Within seconds, a woman with long black hair and dressed in black appeared in front of him. “How may I serve you?” she asked as she bowed to him.

“I sense a Hunter on the edge,” he said, “Something must have happen to cause this. I want you to find out what that is…and see if we can use it against them.”

“As you wish,” she replied, “If I find an org, can I use it in your plan?”

“Yes,” he said, “The Hunters were lucky destroying that org, but make sure that its strong enough to destroy them!”

“I will master,” she replied before she disappeared from his sight.

It was midnight as a man appeared near the shore of Turtle Cove lake.

His long blond-white hair was blowing in the light breeze, away from his beige skinned face and dark eyes. Dressed in black, Jindrax almost blended in the night as he walked along the lake shore.

Without warning, Toxica appeared near him. “Hey,” he said in surprised, “Why did you go scare a guy like that. You almost gave me a heart attack.”

She rolled her eyes as she saw him acting like he was having a heart attack. After so many centuries, he always find ways to make her smile.

“Just listen,” she said, “Master Org senses a Hunter losing the battle against the darkness. We have to find out who that is…and ensure that he loses it.”

“I just love hearing that,” he replied, “So…how do we do that?”

“In time,” she replied as they started walking together, “First we have to find an org…which will take some time. If we find out about that Hunter while doing that, even better. Remember; the more powers we give away…will make Master Org weaker…until we’re done with him.”

“Now, that’s a plan I like,” he said with and evil look in his eyes.

She return the look as she added, “As long as he doesn’t find out, we’ll have the power soon. For now, let’s enjoy our walk.”

“I won’t say no to that,” he replied as they were walking, planning what to do in the days to come.

The sun was rising as Danny stirred in his sleep before opening his eyes. It took him a few seconds before realizing that he wasn’t in his bed…but on a small sofa in Ebony’s room. He fell asleep on the sofa that was across from Ebony’s bed while waiting for her to awaken.

He sat up as he though about last night…

Once he got to the house, Taylor was there to change Ebony’s clothes into a violet nightshirt and matching Capri pants…as Danny waited out side of the bedroom.

During this Cole Evens return from patrol and Danny told him briefly what happened. He was just finishing when Taylor opened the door to let Danny in. Danny went to Ebony’s bedside as Cole and Taylor followed.

“Danny, I can Heal her…” Cole started to say as he got close to the bed.

A growl from Danny stopped Cole cold.

Taylor backed Cole towards the door before saying, “We’ll wait outside for you.”

She closed the door once they were in the hallway before she looked at Cole. “I never saw Danny like that,” she said, “Is he…?”

“No…he isn’t,” Cole replied, realizing what Danny’s action meant, “Ebony is his Lifemate…and he didn’t want me near her, fearing I would harm her.” Cole’s dark brown eyes were Mysterious as his medium beige skin and his dark brown hair which ended near his shoulders.

“You weren’t like that with Alyssa,” Taylor replied as Merrick Balitou joined them.

“Danny is more sensitive to other’s feelings,” he said as his black hair was framing his beige skinned face and his dark eyes, which was almost glowing. “This is harder on him that it was on Cole,” he added, “More so since…she was harmed.”

“That’s why Max, Merrick and me have to keep our distance,” Cole added, “until they complete a Bond.”

“Beside, Danny is a great Healer and will take care of her,” Merrick said, “Come on Taylor, we better get going on patrol. Cole and Celine will be on hand if Danny needs anything.”

Taylor and Merrick left as Cole headed for his bedroom.

Meanwhile, Danny was using his Healing Powers to Heal Ebony’s burses…as he saw her memories of the last hour. ‘That monster,’ he thought as he looked at Ebony, ‘I swear he will not get another chance.’

After settling the blanket around Ebony, he went to the sofa and sat down to watch over her.

A soft sound cause him to let the memory go as he looked towards the bed. Ebony was stirring in her sleep as she was having a nightmare.

Before he knew it, he was at her bedside saying, “Mi Ámor, wake up and come to me.”

Hearing a calm voice was enough to pull her from her nightmare to the waking world.

She opened her eyes…to see Danny in front of her. The look she saw in his eyes proved that the nightmare of Frank…was real.

From one second to another, she was crying her heart out.

“It’s ok,” he said softly as she was crying, “He’s in jail and you’re safe here.”

“Why…” she said in between sobs, “Why is he doing this to me?”

He couldn’t give an answer to her question, but he could support her until this is over. “I wish I knew,” he said, “but I’ll make sure he’ll never get near you again.”

Hearing the calm in his voice made Ebony stop crying as she looked at him. She notice that he seem more warm towards her and something else…she couldn’t read.

Then she notice that she was in her room at Celine’s house and wearing new pj’s.

Seeing the question in her eyes, he said, “Taylor changed your clothes after I brought you here…since Frank doesn’t know about this house and its well guarded in case he does.” He slowly got to his feet as he added, “All of us here will Protect you from him. I’ll be close by if you need anything.”

“Ok,” she said as she hugged her pillow.

After he left the room, she sat up in the bed and thought about last night as she hugged herself. ‘I can’t believe he found me,’ she thought, ‘Frank found me and hurt Tia. He went as far as…’

She stopped before the memory came to mind.

She wonder if Frank will stop coming after her…and destroy the life she has now…and the future she could only dream about.
