“Hey, Shin?” Lee asked, “Can I use your phone for a sex, I mean, sec?” Shin nodded. Lee sighed heavily yet quietly as he reached for the phone and dialed his house number.

“Hey, mom… I'm at a friend's house… Wait, mom, the bus broke down here, so I'll have to stay with him for the night… No, it's okay, mom. Really… I'll be fine, trust me. His parents are really nice; they know me… I promise… Yeah. I'll see you tomorrow afternoon, okay?… Bye, mom.”

“Did you have to LIE?” Shin asked. Lee stared sternly at Shin. “What did you want me to say? `Hey, mom, I'm on a date at some boy's house that'll probably take all night,' or something?”

Shin blushed. “Oh, yeah. Oops… But who said it'd take all night?”

Lee blushed even worse than Shin. “Unless…” Shin added, “…you WANT to stay all ni—“ Shin stopped himself from going any further, but it was too late; he and Lee were already blushing even harder than they were from embarrassment. Lee sat back down and started biting the cracked skin from his bottom lip. “Ow!” Lee peeled the skin a little too far and he started to bleed. “Fuck!” he cursed under his breath. Shin looked over at Lee. “You okay?” he asked it concern. Lee turned to him and Shin saw the blood. “Oh. Hang on, okay?” he prescribed, “I'll go get some tissues and antibiotic. Just hang on.” Shin hastily jetted into the bathroom.

He's so caring… Lee thought, trying to hide a smile so the blood on his lip wouldn't run, I'm so happy I at least have him as a friend, but…

“Here, Lee!” Shin called from the bathroom, “Let me get the blood.” He hurried back and dropped to his knees in front of his friend, not realizing how close his chest was to Lee's crotch. “Here,” he said softly, bringing goosebumps the Lee's arms and sides. Shin gently dabbed the tissue over the blood, then spread the antibiotic on the bottom lip, where it was bleeding. “There,” he sighed with his sexy-fied undertone, “You okay?” Lee smiled at Shin and nodded. Shin twisted the cap back onto the ointment and beamed back an irresistibly cute smile that almost made Lee shoot. The Plant Knight placed the tube on the counter and returned to the couch. “You want me to kiss it and make it better?” he asked. Lee stared at him in shock. “Oh, sorry,” Shin apologized, “I forgot…”

I wish he WOULD kiss my lips… Lee thought. Feeling too embarrassed to say anything else, Shin dragged his backpack over and unzipped it, extracting a heavy textbook for his algebra homework As he flipped to the page of the assignment, he took out a piece of loose-leaf paper and his pencil to start the first problem. After less than a minute of feeling curious (to a broader sense of the word), Lee glanced over at Shin's homework.

“Hold on,” he said. Shin immediately dropped his pencil and left his hands hovering over the paper where he had the first problem already finished. “Shin, you're doing that all wrong,” the Cosmos Knight bluntly informed. “Really?” Shin asked, “I thought so. Can you show me how it goes?” Lee shrugged his shoulders and said, “Sure.” Shin set the book on the table in front of the couch and knelt down on the floor; Lee did the same.

“Okay,” Lee explained, “The problem is 4X+3=5X-9. You have to solve for X so that both sides of the equation are equal to each other. Think of a scale when you do this problem; both sides have to be even or else the problem will go all wrong. First, you have to move either the +3 or the -9 to the opposite side, which is not exactly making the equation unbalanced. Let's just use the +3. The opposite of +3 is -3, so 3-3=0. That cancels itself out. Now, you subtract 3 from the -9 in the 5X-9 part. Two negative numbers increase only the number, but not the negative. 9+3=12, so -9-3=-12. Now, the equation is 4X=5X-12. Next, you have to balance it so that the 5X is on the other side of the equation. That means you have to subtract 5X from both sides; 5X-5X=0 and 4X-5X=-X. Now, you got -X=-12. But you're not looking for -X; you want just X. So, all you do is hack away the negative signs from both sides. And now, you got the answer, X=12. Any questions?”

Shin shook his head. “No,” he said, emphasizing his answer. Lee raised an eyebrow at the Plant Knight. “You're a REALLY good teacher,” Shin complimented, “You made total sense and it was easy for me to understand the steps with the scale analogy.” Shin's satisfaction brought a smile to Lee's face. After talking for that long, though, Lee popped his soda can open and took a sip of Sprite Remix. “I'm glad you understand,” he responded to Shin's comfort. Shin popped open his soda after completely forgetting about it. When he finished drinking some of the soda, he turned back to Lee and excitedly asked, “Can I do one to see if I got it?” Lee smiled even wider and happily replied, “Sure.”
