Chapter 3: Rebirth of the Imperial Dragon!

Ranma watched as his daughter performed her first Musabetsu Kakuto Saotome Ryu kata. It has been seven years, since the day Goku defeated Piccolo Junior. Today Ranma was spending with his daughter. For the past two years, he has been travelling the world over, in search of new styles and techniques to incorporate into his own style.

In his two years travelling, his only company was his father. Bulma had forced him to bring a communications device so he could speak with her daily, which they did; twice in the mornings, once at lunch, and three times across the afternoon. To Ranma's credit, Bulma didn't have to force him too much, as he wanted it already, but wanted to win the argument none the less.

Yesterday he had returned, and decided to the entire day with his pride and joy. However, Ranma hadn't counted on Goku having a reunion at Roshi's island. While his wife had gone, he elected to stay here, where he could spend some quality time with his daughter.

Sakura ran up to her father, after completing her second Kata. Ranma knelt low, and grabbed his little girl in a warm embrace. "Did I do those right, Pops?" Sakura asked, as she leaned backwards, still in his grip.

Ranma looked into his daughter's deep blue eyes and couldn't help but smile. "You were perfect! I couldn't do them any better than you." Ranma praised, as he ruffled her long flowing hair. "It's amazing, you know?" Ranma stated.

Sakura gave a contemplative look his way. "What is, Pops?" she asked.

Ranma couldn't help but grin at his offspring. "One day, Sakura, you'll be better than me." Ranma informed her. Sakura beamed brightly at the thought of being as good as her father in the Arts. Ranma stood and held her hand saying, "Your mom tells me you built your first robot." Seeing the joy in Sakura's enthusiastic nod, Ranma pressed on. "Can you show your Pops how it works?" he questioned.

Ranma wasn't a genius by any stretch of the imagination, but he could tell an ingenius creation when he saw one. And that is exactly what he was looking at. The 'robot' before him, made his father's mechanical body look like junk.

Sakura went to a control console, or so Ranma figured it was a control console (there were a lot of buttons and flashing lights), and pressed a sequence of keys. She looked up from her station and called to her father; "Pops, you might want to be careful, I made it to be a combat android." she informed.

Ranma blinked. For a moment, he thought he heard his daughter say she build a combat android.

The android, decidedly female, had long purple hair, large blue eyes and looked like a real person; especially when it came on and sauntered over to him. For a moment, Ranma was reminded of Shampoo.

"I am Combat Android Number 01, Code Name: Electra." she informed Ranma. Slowly, without the mechanical jerks Ranma was familiar with, she extended a hand to him.

Ranma blinked, before realizing the robot wanted to shake his hand. Slowly, Ranma accepted the hand and shook it. Surprisingly, it had a grip close to Ryoga's strength.

While Ranma was gauging the machine's strength in comparison to Ryoga's, he missed the look of confusion, in the android's eyes. "Hi, Electra, I'm Saotome Ranma." he offered it by way of introduction.

Sakura cleared her throat, gaining the room's undivided attention. "Pops, try not to break my machine, I'm not done fixing her yet." surprise was the only emotion that could explain Ranma's appearance. Sakura began tinkering inside of a giant metal contraption. As she did this, her voice traveled to Ranma's ears. "I want to make her the strongest most powerful android possible. So far, I have designed a ki manipulation drive, an antigravity device, rapid nanobyte repair units and an internal genetic reproduction system." Sakura paused as she figured she lost her father a long time back.

Ranma blinked. "A what?" he ask intelligently.

Sakura sighed, and began again, in everyday terms. "She's able to create Ki, she can fly, her healing is as fast as yours, and she can give birth." As an afterthought, she added, "given a male's seed that is."

Ranma stared at his daughter like she had grown two heads. Sakura didn't seem to notice, as she called her android back to her. "When I finish, Pops, she'll be just like a normal person... Er, like your friends, I mean." she quickly corrected, and began removing several parts on Electra.

For the first time, Ranma realized Electra looked like an Elf, from the manga he used to read. *I suppose she'll fit right in.* Ranma mused, thinking about a new person to train against. Only, there was one problem; "Sakura, you do know that daddy doesn't fight girls, right?" he asked. Despite his length of living here, Ranma has yet to harm a girl.

Sakura looked somewhat taken aback. "But, auntie Chichi is a girl, and she fights." Sakura offered as a protest. Even she realized her father never fought her. "Drat!" she huffed, kicking a stray bolt across her engineering shop.

Ranma big sweat dropped.

A few hours later, Ranma was eating voraciously. Consuming all that was placed in front of him, as his daughter and the many maids were gawking at his appetite. Ranma paid no mind, as this was the first real meal he had since beginning his two year journey. *A man can only cook dino burgers so many times, before he gets tired of them.* Ranma assessed.

Sakura had never seen her father eat before, her mother would feed her first and say, "Me and daddy are grown-ups, and kids shouldn't eat with grown-ups." Now Sakura had an idea why. If all grown-ups ate this way, little kids might accidentally get eaten up.

Ranma wasn't above belching, but decided against it, when he saw Sakura's surprised expression. Giving a sigh of fulfillment, Ranma leaned back in his chair. "Want to see something really cool?" he asked Sakura. Since he happened to have everyone's attention, they all nodded uniformly. Shrugging, Ranma pulled out a golden orb, with seven stars within.

"Oooo... pretty..." the five females cooed.

Ranma shifted uncomfortably. *Way too many bad memories.* Ranma mused, shaking his head sullenly.

Sakura came to her senses quickly, and Ranma handed her her the ball, which she rolled to and fro. The maid, Sakura's closest friends, were watching from over her shoulder, as the stars within didn't move though the ball rolled. "Hmm," she noised, as she studied the ball. "There doesn't appear to be any water within, but the stars don't move." As she said that the maids backed away a distance and, in a flash, Sakura struck a dramatic pose, one foot in her chair, the other on the table, as she held the ball high in the air. "This calls for an 'experiment'!" she declared.

Ranma's eyebrows rose, as he took in the gleam of Sakura's eyes. They were the same he got, when presented with a new (and useful) technique. "Um... Sakura, your pops needs that ball." he informed in a reserved tone.

Sakura deflated and sagged into her chair, a dejected look in her eyes, and her lips in a cute little pout. "But, Pops, I need to know it works." she whined.

Ranma almost folded. Almost. "I need those to make a wish." he informed her. Seeing her inquisitive gaze, he explained about the Eternal Dragon. "I made a wish three years ago, for you and your mom, to have infinite youth." Ranma concluded.

Sakura and the maids stared with wide-eye fascination. In unison, they chorused "That's sooo COOL!" in endearing voices.

Ranma shifted uncomfortably again. *_Way_ too many bad memories.* he assessed.

Thirty minutes later, Ranma was showing some of the techniques and katas he'd learned at Sakura's age.

Ranma was doing his best to ignore the young maids' blushes, giving away their young crushes. "You don't have to get these all in one day, but before you can learn any other techniques, you have to master these forms." Ranma said to the attentive Sakura.

Sakura began the first kata with slow and graceful movements, adjusting from one stance to another.

Ranma's attention was suddenly pulled elsewhere, and he stared into the sky, seeking out the source. He absently felt Sakura tugging at his pant leg, and turned to look at all the young women standing on the lawn, giving him a concerned look. "Everyone go inside! NOW!" he barked, the maids were quick to follow his orders, but Sakura wanted to stay and continued to stand at his side.

"Akana, Kikuko, please take Sakura inside for me." he requested, and two of the four maids came and dragged Sakura in.

No sooner had they gone inside, as a giant of a man, landed before Ranma.

Ranma had to crane his neck just to see the man's head. A smirk found its place on his face. "I see. You're looking for a fight, aren't you?" Ranma challenged in a calm voice. His blood began to rush with excitement, as he felt the energy of the man before him. Dropping into a defensive crouch, he taunted, "I hope you're as good at fighting as looking smug. Otherwise, I'm going to wipe the floor with you."

Raditz smirked, checking his scouter revealed the man before him had a power level of 778. "You're not Kakarott, but it should be more fun fighting you, than it was that Namek." he quipped.

Like the shot of a gun to a footrace, the sound of the door closing started their battle. Raditz charged forth, not using his full strength but still a high amount. With speed being Ranma's forte, he nimbly dodged all the strikes coming from Raditz as he danced backwards, springing off the balls of his feet.

Raditz was quite impressed. "I am really gonna enjoy this fight." he stated. Increasing to his full speed and strength, Raditz landed a glancing blow across Ranma's shoulder, forcing him to adjust his defensive movements.

Like a hurricane, Raditz unloaded thousands of punches, at near Ranma's Amaguriken speed. Seeing as he still held the advantage in the speed department, Ranma slipped through a series of gaps in Raditz punches. With a short leap, and a cry of "KACHU TENSHIN AMAGURIKEN" Ranma found himself pounding away Raditz's armor. Not stopping there, Ranma used his Amaguriken kicks to Raditz's chest.

The Saiyajin felt as though a bomb had gone off in his chest. The individual strikes weren't too painful, but the sheer number of times Ranma had hit him was wearing him down quickly. Deciding his raw power and hardened defense was the only way to beat his foe he focused his energy into boosting his body's defense.

Ranma watched as Raditz shrugged off the Amagurikens he had just landed. Realizing this was a replay, of the time Ryoga learned the Baksai Tenketsu, Ranma smirked. "I can keep up this fight for days. How `bout you?" Ranma taunted, hoping his jibe wasn't in his opponent's favor.

Raditz was hoping Ranma to be bluffing. Even though he was capable of taking over planets, Raditz had never needed to remain at full strength the entire time. Deciding his opponent had to be bluffing, Raditz charged headlong, throwing blows so powerful, the air cried in pain.

Ranma knew he could go for at least three days all out, as he had been training to do so, but he didn't want to unless he absolutely needed. A thought occurred to him, and he began focusing for the attack.

Raditz's headset screeched at him, and he looked to see what the urgency was. Raditz nearly lost his focus, as he gawked at the read out. His opponent's energy level had just reversed. Before, it was 778, now the scouter was reading -778, an impossible number. "Stupid scouter, must be broken." he mumbled under his breath as he continued his assault. It was when he realized his opponent had run out of space to back away that he saw Ranma smirk.

Ranma smirked, thinking *Baka* sourly, as he threw an uppercut. "HIRYUU SHOTEN HA!!" Ranma cried and from the clear blue sky, a whirlwind formed, engulfing the Saiya-jin warrior.

The whirlwind grew to nearly a mile in diameter at its base, and became a dark black color, pulling in loose rubble and finely secured items alike. From the center of the Cyclone, Ranma noted this was even larger than the one he used against Prince Kirin of The Seven Lucky Gods School.

From within the tornado, Raditz was struggling with everything he could, to stop this attack. Everytime time he moved something heavy would slam against him. When he tried to fly, the tunnel would increase its speed so greatly, he felt as though it would rip his limbs off. Raditz began charging his energy, in an attempt at blowing away the wind tunnel. As soon as he released his aura in an outward burst, the speeds picked up so greatly, he no longer had the strength to inhale.

Ranma smirked as he watched his opponent knocking himself unconscious. *That's another one I owe you, Cologne.* he noted mentally.

After an hour, the tunnel finally died, and Raditz fell limply against the soft earth. Ranma trotted over to his fallen foe, and smirked at his downed form.

Raditz attempted to muster the strength to raise a hand and grasp Ranma's legging just before he past out. It was about that time that Goku and Piccolo landed and Raditz lost consciousness. Both hurried to Ranma's side.

"Yo," Ranma greeted.

Piccolo was left gaping, as he looked at the man who earlier easily defeated him. "H... how?" he asked shakily.

Ranma shrugged, "Just got lucky, I guess." he offered by way of explanation.

Both turned to regard Ranma, neither sensed any higher energy levels than before, but yet Ranma had beaten an invincible foe.

Ranma scratched the base of his pigtail and grinned sheepishly. Forcing himself from his stupor, Ranma remembered his foe would only be unconscious for a short time. Using the Ultimate Moxibustion technique, Ranma lifted Raditz over his shoulder and carried him inside, with Piccolo and Goku trailing behind him.

Ranma was awakened by a very excited Sakura. In her hands was the scouter he had earlier used to converse with Raditz's leader, Prince Vegeta. Rather than immediately ask what she was doing with it, he glanced outside, and noted the stars still out.

Taking a deep breath, Ranma pushed himself up, and carried Sakura out the room with him. He didn't stop, until he reached her laboratory. "What's up, Kiddo?" he asked around a yawn.

Sakura gave her father a glare, and Ranma quickly covered his mouth. Sakura then relented her chastening. "After careful deliberation, I have assessed the potentials of this device. It's a gauging mechanism, used for Ki potential displays, and rapid interstellar communications. I shut off the uplink and used a feeder to watch the other Saiya-jins sleep for awhile." she drew to a sudden halt, realizing her father staring wide-eyed at her. "It's able to read ki levels, and displays them in readable numbers. It can also be used like a walkie-talkie." she corrected herself, missing her conversations with her mother.

Ranma was once again reminded of how smart his little girl was. *Man, I shoulda paid attention back in school,* Ranma pondered. Taking a deep breath, Ranma knelt down to his daughter's height and ruffled her hair. "I'm glad there's at least one Saotome with brains." he praised her.

Sakura blushed slightly, and remembered something else she was doing as a research project. Running to her 'toy-box', as her father named and inscribed it, she pulled out the armor Raditz had been wearing earlier. "I studied this material, and came up with some bracers, slippers, pants, and shirts of your favorite design, based on the fabrics. From what I can tell so far, there's nothing on Earth that can damage it." she praised, as a gleam of admiration could be seen in her eyes. A thoughtful look entered her eyes, and she acquiesced, "...Well, except you and your friends, that is."

Ranma rubbed the base of his pigtail, and chuckled lightly. "When will they be ready?" he hated asking her like that. It was obvious she hadn't slept since she'd gotten her hands on that Saiya-jin attire, but really wanted to start using fabrics that don't rip up when he fights.

Sakura gave a Saotome smirk, and walked back to her toy-box. "I finished them right before waking you. I knew you would want to wear them." Sakura informed him, as she dug out five black pants, ten bracers and ten slippers. "I sued several different color shirts, but they should still fit loosely." she stated, as she retrieved ten shirts, five sleeveless, five long-sleeved.

As Ranma held up the pants, he noted an elastic-like waistband, and grimaced. Elastic always shredded when he got to really moving.

Sakura giggled, from her perch at Ranma's side. "That's not elastic, Pops." she told him.

Ranma looked up, and stretched the pants out, noticing they kept on stretching rather than stopping. Ranma blinked in confusion. "The material used in the armor and under attire stretches to fit anything and anyone." Sakura told him, in his confusion.

Ranma gave a smirk and scooped up Sakura in a spinning hug. "Thanks, Sak-chan!" he enthused and kissed her forehead. "But, we'd better be going to bed." he stated, as he set her down.

It was the following day that Raditz finally found himself awake. He stretched groggily, and noted he felt like he was hit by a Gregurian Borelax.

He held his head and cast his gaze about. "Where... am I?" he asked no one in particular. Memories of his loss, made him wonder how he was still alive. Deciding not to push his luck, he stood from the bed he was sitting in. It was as he stood, he realized his armor was gone, replaced by a pair of blue and white striped boxer-shorts. Raditz fingered the flimsy material and exited the room.

For the first time in Raditz life, he felt lost. It was mostly caused by the lack of his scouter, but being at the mercy of a much weaker foe, made up the rest. The scent of hot food made its way to his nose, guiding him to the dining room. As he entered, he could spot his kid brother on sight. "Kakarott!" he exclaimed. Raditz noted his brother's mirth as he conversed with the Namek and the man that beat him.

Whatever it was that defeated him, hadn't killed him, but he was severely weakened. Deciding to show the Earther why the Saiya-jins were the best of the best, attempted to channel his energy into a blast. "GAH!" he cried in pain, as a searing heat made itself known in his back.

Ranma smirked, as he looked at the cowed Saiya-jin. "I know how much that hurts. I once had that move done to me. It makes you as weak as a baby." Ranma taunted. Seeing the look of disdain in Raditz eyes, Ranma pulled out a chair. "Sit. Eat. I know you need to; you haven't eaten since you got here."

With cruel intentions in mind, Raditz seated himself to Ranma's left. "After I eat your food, I am going to exterminate all the life on this planet." Raditz threatened, a smug look on his visage.

Ranma matched Raditz's smug glare with a confident smirk. "No you won't." Ranma informed.

Raditz, still believing he had the upper hand, dug into his food as savagely as a wild beast. While chewing on a pork chop, meat and bone alike, Raditz spoke to Ranma. "There's nothing you can do to stop me," he said confidently.

Ranma sniggered, and dug into his food with the speed of a starving man. After disgusting Raditz from his own plate of food, Ranma paused long enough to speak. "If shu mfeen thoshe uffers," he said around his food, earning a glare from Bulma. Giving a defeated sigh, Ranma chewed and started anew. "Sorry, hun. As I was saying. If you mean those other Saiya-jins, as they called themselves, they said they didn't want a failure like you, when I spoke to 'em through your scouter." Ranma informed smugly.

Raditz was aghast. Slamming his fist against the table, and wincing as the impact sent him into a world of hurt, while barely nudging the table, Raditz rose from his seat. "You lie!" he declared. There was no way Vegeta would just let him rot on a planet like this.

Ranma smirked. "Well, I see you're not as stupid as the tall bald one, with Prince Vegeta." Ranma praised, earning a derisive snort from Raditz. "Anyway, Vegeta _said_ he wasn't interested in retrieving you, and the amount disdain in his voice almost made me believe him. That is until Nappa said, (In an overly done muscle man voice) 'But, you just said we were headed for Earth'. Once I heard that, I asked Prince Veggie how long before he arrived on Earth, and he decided to tell me. According to him, it will be two years, but I have a feeling that he was doubling the time, to catch us off guard. Either way, you have the option of fighting with us and beating them, or fighting on their side and being (in a mock-Vegeta voice) 'executed for his incompetence', as Prince Veggie puts it." Ranma offered.

Raditz swallowed at the growing lump in his throat. There was no doubt Prince Vegeta would make good on executing him, but he couldn't hope to fight against someone as powerful as Vegeta. With no choices, not involving him getting killed, Raditz slumped his shoulders in self-disgust.

Ranma grin broadly and slapped Raditz on the back. "Welcome to the team, Raditz!" Ranma and Goku cheered in unison. As if nothing had happened, Ranma and Goku tore into the food set before them.

Bulma and Chi Chi turned to regard each other. "Its like they're actually brothers." Bulma noted. Chi Chi sighed in defeat, and nodded her agreement. "At least, the kids aren't watching this display." Chi Chi added. Bulma nodded, barely snatching her plate before Ranma stole her food as well.

The following day, Goku went with Kami to the other world, to train under King Kai, and Ranma collected the last of the dragonballs, to make his wish.

The sky was covered in absolute black. Raditz quivered in place as he regarded the giant monsterious dragon before them. For some reason, he had a bad sense of forboding. "Wh... What, are you?" he choked out, as the dragon lowered closer to the gathered people before them.

The dragon seemed to ignore Raditz's question, and turned to Ranma. "SPEAK YOUR WISH, SO THAT I MAY RETURN TO MY SLUMBER." it boomed across the sky.

Ranma smirked as he felt the amount of power in the dragon. Mentally, he wondered if the dragon would be willing to fight. Aloud, he was forced to make his wish. "I need to have a gateway, between this world and the one I left, but I want it to open from Kami's Look-out to the Jusenkyo guide's house." Ranma watched as the Dragon's eyes glowed a brilliant yellow. "Before you finish, I need it to open on the day I left, can you do that?" Ranma added as an afterthought. *It would suck to get there, and have everyone thinking I'm dead or something.* he assessed mentally.

The dragon's eyes glowed for a few moments, before it spoke again. "YOUR WISH… HAS BEEN GRANTED!!!" it thundered, the beasts voice ringing about through the air. As the dragon disappeared, in a bright yellow glow, the seven balls lifted into the air, and shot across the planet. As the glowing, golden orbs rocketed away, the sky returned to its normal blue shade.

Ranma quickly came back to reality, and got Raditz attention. "You're going to stay here, and help Bulma with anything she needs, me and my daughter are going to train on my world." he informed his, somewhat, lackey.

Raditz saw no problem with staying alive, so he quickly agreed. *Fool! You can't possibly become strong enough to beat Prince Vegeta or Nappa.* he mentally swore.

And so it was Ranma, taking his daughter Sakura, that left for Kami's lookout. Piccolo left with Gohan, as the scouter revealed the boy's energy levels, and Goku began his journey down Snakeway.

The end of Chapter 3

Let it be known, I don't know for certain if Ranma's power-level were go into the negative, but according to what Cologne taught him, his aura becomes reversed when he uses the Soul of Ice.

Raditz under the effect of the Moxibustion technique? From what I saw, Ranma received the scroll that says how to reverse it, but since having the shiatsu point applied to him, he knows where to apply it. If you wonder why he never used it in the anime< your best bet is to ask Rumiko Takahashi.

While Prince Vegeta is indifferent to the lives of his remaining Saiya-jins, he still has his pride, which won't allow one to remain alive after the death or loss of one of his followers. That's the best explanation you'll be getting from me, at the moment, as to why Vegeta came to Earth.

The gateway is a door, just like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. In fact, this door sits right down the hall from it. the other end opens up within the Jusenkyo guide's home.

Piccolo took Gohan, because Gohan has an unheard of power-level.
