Jun looked between the two of them. Obviously something had happened, but he knew that look on Anna's face. Now wasn't the time to ask about it. Kissing her cheek, he held up his tie so that she could fix it for him. "Is...everything okay?" Of course it wasn't, but he had to ask anyways.

This time, Anna didn't fake a smile. She couldn't. Her hands went up to Jun's tie and started tying it. "When today is over, everything will be," she said as she finished tying.

Jun looked down at her. Pressing his lips to her's, he pulled back but left his hand on her face. "I hope so," he whispered. Taking her hand, they exited together. He tried his best not to listen to the reporters, yet as they walked to his car, he couldn't help but overhearing a few of them. Rather than yelling at them or accusing them, the reporters started on a somber tone, talking about the now orphaned son of Mr. Higarashi and his girlfriend.

In death, his father had gotten his way. The reporters were no longer tarnishing his name. No one liked to speak ill of a dead man.

Anna stood next to Jun just like he wanted during the funeral. More than one time, her legs got weak and she would hold Jun's arm as if the world was slipping away. She shook the faintness off, however her mother kept pointing out to her father than he needed to be ready if Anna started to head for the ground.

The funeral ended, and from there Jun had to deliver the body to be cremated. After which, he had an hour before he had to return to collect the ashes. Standing with the Greens, he looked at Mr. Green. His hands fidgeted slightly before he finally worked up the courage to ask him. "May...I ask a favor of you?"

"You can ask us anything, Jun," Anna's dad said.

"In Japan, it is customary for me and my family to go in and place the ashes in an urn." Looking down at his broken arm he shrugged. "I can't...exactly do that my by myself." Turning to Anna, he gave her a small smile. "And I'd rather not have to put Anna through that. So...would you mind...I mean, just being there and holding the urn for me?"

Anna's dad smiled. He placed a hand on Jun's shoulder. "I would be honored."

Anna's mom smiled. "I'm going to take Anna out for some fresh air." Anna kissed Jun on the cheek and leaned against her mother as they walked outside. "You did very well today."

"I don't want to talk about it."

Jun watched as the two of them walked away, leaving Jun and her father there by themselves. He didn't really know what to say now or what he should do. So far the past two days had been dictated to him due to customs and laws. Now he had an hour in which he could do anything, and yet he couldn't think of one thing to do. Leaning against the wall of the cremating building he closed his eyes and sighed. He'd be glad when he could get a good night's sleep.

Anna let the wind hit her face while her mother stood next to her. Anna had to tell her twice not to speak because she already knew what she was going to say. It was going to be about those pictures in the boxes in her room.

"I'm going to go ahead and tell you the reporters took a picture of me and Jun kissing," Anna said after complete silence for nearly an hour.

"That's to be expected. You and Jun are an item now," he mother said sweetly.

"I was in Jun's lap and we were in his car," Anna added.

"What!?!"

Jun checked his watch. Time wasn't passing by quickly enough. "I'm going to go get something to drink." Jun waved to Anna's father before heading down the street to the small restaurant. His phone was buzzing, so he quickly checked to see the text from Reisha. She was making sure that he was still doing well; and to let him know that his family had made food for him and the Green's. She told him that they'd drop it off later when they got home.

He smiled and closed the phone. He didn't know what he'd do without Rei some times. Rei...and now Anna were irreplaceable in his life.

Anna's mother was dragging Anna back to her father. "She was in Jun's lap in his car making out!" she screamed. It was in Russian. Her mother didn't want anyone to understand them.

"Anna," her dad said firmly.

"It's not what it sounds like. We were just kissing," Anna said back. Her Russian was a little scratchy and she always felt like she was made when she spoke it.

"We know you and Jun are old enough to have sex but you should have enough decency to not do it in public," her mother said harshly.

Anna stomped her foot. "I am not that kind of girl!" She crossed her arms on her chest. "And I don't feel comfortable talking about this in public with my parents speaking Russian!"

"Too bad!" her mother yelled.

"Helena," her dad said and patted her hand, "We agreed we wouldn't be like our parents. We agreed that as long as she was smart about it, we wouldn't judge."

"She was in his car! In a place where dead people are!"

Anna wanted to scream.

Jun had his soda in hand when he walked down the street to where the Green's were. They were speaking a language he couldn't understand, but he was a great judge of facial expressions. What he saw wasn't exactly pleasant. More importantly it was something that he was certain he didn't want to get pulled into. Looking down at them, he slowly tried to work his way down an alley which would loop around to the back entrance of the crematory

"I'm ignoring you now," Anna said with a light laugh.

"This is not funny!" her mom yelled. She turned to her husband. "Tell her this is not funny, Mike!"

By this time, he was laughing too. "Helena, she's a young woman. She's smart and she knows that the things she does has consequences. We have to let her make her own mistakes. Now I'm going in there to help Jun. When I come out, no one better be dead out here," he said.

Anna's mom groaned. They watched as her father walked away.

Jun was just coming in the side entrance when Anna's father was coming in the front one. They met in the middle, and Jun gave him a nervous smile. He wasn't nervous about whatever their argument had been about. He was nervous about what he was going to have to do. Taking a deep breath, they walked into the crematorium. There was an ornate urn which his father was to be placed into. The ashes of which, he had to collect with the metal chopsticks. While Anna's father held the urn, Jun tried his best to pick up the pieces of his father. It was harder then he thought it was going to be both physically and mentally.

It was hard due to the fact that he had to use his off hand. It was even harder, because as he did this, he was forced to think of his father every second it took. Though Anna's father offered to help, Jun refused. This was his duty as his father's son. When he finally finished, nearly forty minutes later, all that was left to do was to take his father to the family burial grounds.

Anna hesitated before walking up to Jun. In his hands were his father's remains. Even as ashes, Anna felt faint knowing that it was once a body. Anna's parents said they would meet them at home and Anna got in Jun's car. She drove this time so Jun could hold the ashes. She stopped the car at the burial site. Jun would have to walk through the other sites to get to his family.

"Jun...I can't go with you," Anna said as her body began to shake. "I don't do so well...with this kind of stuff. I'll just wait in the car."

Jun nodded. Sliding out of the car, he carried his father's remains to their family site. Already a hole was dug so that he could place his father beside his mother. After burying his father's ashes, he knelt down and lit the incense beside the graves and offered up a prayer. "Mom. Dad. I hope that you are together now. I hope...that I will be able to bring honor to our family." He was crying now. "I'm so sorry! I'm sorry that I messed up. I'm sorry that I wasn't a better son. Please...forgive me."

Once he was through, he stood and wiped his tears. He stayed there a little while longer just to make certain that he could compose himself before walking back to the car.

Anna said nothing as he got in the car. His eyes lashes were wet. Finally he had cried. She drove them back to Anna's house and got out. She walked upstairs to her room and moved some of the boxes aside. Picking up one of them, she took it down stairs to her parents. On the box it said "Adam's things." Her parents looked at her.

"Put it...in storage," Anna said. "With his other things."

"Anna," her mom started.

"Just do it, ok?" Anna said. "I'm going to take a shower."

Before her parent could object Anna ran upstairs. Her mother’s hands ran over the box and her dad ran his hand on her back.

Jun took his time getting inside. Honestly he wanted to be alone, but he didn't feel like going to his house either. As soon as he walked in, he noticed that Anna's mom was holding a box. He looked at them curiously, wondering why they looked so sad. Glancing at the name of the box, he frowned. Adam?

Anna's dad looked at Jun then at Anna's mom. She shook her head. "Anna doesn't want him knowing," she said.

"Why?" her dad asked.

"She thinks he has enough on his mind," she said. She looked at Jun. "If you need anything, Jun, please let us know." She put the box down on the floor and walked upstairs with her husband. They had to get a hold of the lawyer to sign the papers on Jun.

As Anna's parents walked off, Jun looked at the box they had left lying there. He knew it wouldn't be wise to invade their privacy, especially not after all they had done, but he was curious. Who was Adam? Looking down at the box, he ran his finger along its edges. It looked old, as if it hadn't been unpacked in a long time.

Anna took a quick shower then put on her pajamas. It wasn't dark yet, but she wasn't going anywhere. She could hear her parents talking to someone in there room. Most likely the lawyer on the phone. She went down stairs and as she hit the bottom step she nearly lost it.

"Don't!" Anna screamed. She rushed over to Jun and pushed him from the box. "Don't..." she said again in a whisper.

Jun fell against the counter, hissing as his back slammed into it. She'd caught him off guard, so he didn't have time to actually steady himself. Looking at her and then to the box, he asked the question which he knew needed to be asked. "Who's Adam?"

Anna got to her knees as she ran her hand over the box. "Don't worry about it. It's not important," she said as she tried to make the old tap stick to the box more so it would close better.

Jun looked down at her. It was important to her, which meant that it was important to him. "If you don't want to tell me, that's okay. Just know that I'm here if you do." He didn't try to help her. She seemed determined to do this on her own.

Anna nodded. She picked up the box again and moved it to the closet in the living room. Her parents would take it to storage tomorrow. At least she hoped they would. She turned to him. "Sorry...I pushed you. I didn't mean to be so rough."

Jun smiled. "It's no big. It didn't hurt. I was just surprised." He ran a hand through his hair as he looked at her. She didn't feel like talking, he could relate.

Anna felt uncomfortable now. "You should go change. I know that suit can't be too comfortable."

He shrugged. "I'll have to get use to it. I own the majority stock in my father's company," he told her. "That means that unless I want one of his partners to have them...I'll have to sit in on some of the meetings." He sighed. Even in death his father was controlling him. Pulling at his tie, he started for the stairs so that he could take a shower and get into his night clothes.

Anna watched Jun walk up the stairs. She turned back to the closet where Adam's box laid. Her hand reached for the knob, but she pulled back. Opening that box would make her cry and tears weren't something she wanted to deal with. She went upstairs just as her parents were coming out of their room.

"We are going to meet the lawyer and get the papers signed so Jun won't have to go into the system," her mother said. "He ended up going out of town after the funeral so we are meeting him there."

"Can't it wait til morning?" Anna asked.

"Not if we want the papers filed tonight. The faster the better," she said and kissed Anna's cheek. "We won't be back until morning."

Anna nodded and her father kissed her then they left. Anna walked to her room and sat on her air bed.

As Jun crawled out of the shower. He dried himself off and put on his boxers and night pants. His cast itched, but there was nothing he could do about that. Realizing he'd forgotten his shirt, he stepped out of the bathroom only to see Anna. "Oh...sorry," he said quickly. Apologizing for not being fully dressed. The house was quiet. "Did your parents leave?"

Anna's eyes danced over Jun's chest. She had to look away to answer his question. "Yeah, the won't be back until tomorrow. They wanted to get the paper work on you done as soon as they could."

"Oh...okay." Reaching into the closet he pulled out his night shirt. Turning back to Anna he found himself pausing, as if he was fighting to find the right words to say. "Hopefully everything will soon end...." Sitting down on his bed, he leaned up and stared at the ceiling.

"Yeah," Anna said. She stood and walked over and sat next to him. She looked down at him. "How are you, Jun?" She wondered if anyone had bothered to ask him that these past few days.

Jun chuckled as if that was the most ridiculous thing he had heard in quite some time. Staring up at her, he realized that she was being serious. With a small sigh, he just shrugged. "I don't honestly know. Everything just feels numb. Everything.... It's like it's a dream. One that I hope to wake up from but know that I never will. I guess in that sense it's more like a nightmare."

Anna laid down next to him and stared at the ceiling. "It will pass with time. You'll change and eventually things will go back into routine again."

Jun rolled over on his side so that he could look at her. "I hope so," he whispered.

Anna turned her head to him. "Don't worry. It will happen," she said.

He nodded, and soon he found his lips pressed against hers. The warmth of her body, the touch of her flesh. Just like before he felt jolts course through his body. Pulling back, he moved the hair out of her face. "I...you mean the world to me," he told her.

Anna's breath was caught in her throat. Her heart suddenly felt like it was going to explod and her skin felt hot. "Are you saying what I think you are saying, Jun?" she finally asked.

Jun bit his lip. Did he mean it? Did he mean what she wanted it to mean? Could he promise himself that he felt that? That he would always feel that. Taking a deep breath, he nodded. "Yes, I am."

"Jun..." she whispered. She was in shock. They had only been together for almost three weeks, but then again, they had been through so much together. It didn't matter how long they had been together or how short. She knew she was falling in love with him, but she wasn't sure if she really did love him yet.

Leaning over, she met his lips and moved her hand to his bare chest.
