Jun tried calling her cell, but he heard it ringing upstairs. Wherever she was she hadn't bothered to take her cell with her. Her coat and boots were gone, but he couldn't find her night gown which meant that she was outside somewhere half naked. Jun groaned in frustration as he grabbed his car keys. Didn't she realize that it was crazy to go out in this weather?

How many times did he have to worry himself to death while he was driving around in an attempt to find her? He could barely see with the snow falling, but he couldn't bother driving too slow for fear that she might freeze to death out there.

Anna felt like she spent days out in the snow on her knees. By the time she was down praying her lips were blue and she was covered in snow. She looked like she was a statue. Anna looked at the incense. It had been burned out long ago. She moved her hands over the site again to brush the snow off it once more before standing. Hugging herself, she started back down trying hard to find each step that was covered in snow. It all looked the same level.

Jun pulled up the cemetery. Some of his incense had been missing. It had taken him a while to figure out why it could be missing. He didn't know what she was trying to prove by coming out here in the middle of this weather, but she was being foolish and reckless. Climbing out of his car, he tried to see if he could see her through the snow, but it was starting to pick up. "Anna!" he yelled, hoping his voice wouldn't be drowned out by the rising wind.

Anna stopped moving. She looked around. The wind stung her throat but at the moment, she was terrified. The dead were speaking her name! She turned around looking for a ghost or a vengeful spirits but she saw nothing. Biting her lip and trying hard, she started down the steps again. She couldn't see them at all so she had to rely on her boots to guild her. She fell...a lot...but with so much snow, it softened her fall and she was able to stand only freezing more and soaked from head to toe.

"Anna!" Jun called again. Cursing, he turned off his car and started running through the snow. It was already up to calves, if it kept up this way it would soon be impossible to find her. He jumped through the snow, biting pain the numbness which was growing on his body as he wasted to succumb to the cold. There was no way that Anna could still be okay in this. "Anna!"

He reached his parent's graves. The snow had recently been knocked off and he could see freshly burned incense. He looked around and tried to follow a possible path.

Anna looked around. Where...was she? Which way did she come from to get to where she was? Nothing looked the same when it was covered in snow. Anna sneezed then began coughing while looking around. She was so busy trying to figure out which way to go and coughing that she lost her footing yet again in the snow. Anna screamed. This time when she hit the ground, she slid down extra steps and smashed her head into one of the stones. Anna moaned in pain. She fought against herself to keep her eyes open.

Jun's head popped up when he heard her scream. He quickly ran in the direction of the scream, hoping that the wind was just playing games with his mind. He slipped numerous times, but he always managed to catch himself. Finally he came to the spot where he saw her laying on the ground. His eyes widened as he felt his heart stop. He quickly knelt by her body. "Anna! Are you okay? Can you move?" She had a nasty bruise on her head. He hoped that she didn't have a concussion.

Anna looked at Jun. "What...are you doing here?" she asked. Though she was more than happy to see him. She reached up and grabbed his shirt. Pulling it, she used it to help her sit up. The world started spinning and she grabbed her head. "Ouch..."

"Come on, let's get you home," he told her. Sliding his hands beneath her body, he lifted her into his arms. While he began to carry her, the storm seemed to get worse. He looked around everywhere, trying to reorient himself so that he could find his car. "Hold on," he whispered. Propping her against him, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his keys.

He knew he'd be yelled at if anyone realized what he was about to do; but the dead could understand that he meant them no disrespect. He didn't feel like joining them now. He pressed the alarm button on his car. Suddenly he could hear his car's alarm going off in the distance. Wrapping his arms back around Anna he carried her toward the noise. Once they got to his car he moved her into the passenger seat and turned the heat on full blast as he climbed in the driver seat and turned off the alarm.

Anna started coughing again. She sneezed a few times then moved her hand back to her head. "What were you doing out there?" she asked him.

"I was looking for you," he told her. He rubbed his hands to try to get some feeling in them before looking over at her. "That bump looks bad. How are you feeling? Dizzy? Disoriented?"

Anna looked at him. "All of the above...but I'll be fine. Don't tell my parents..."

"You should get that looked at," he told her. "You could have a concussion, or there could be internal bleeding...."

Anna closed her eyes. "Blah blah...don't tell my parents and don't take me to the hospital," she said. She was so tired now. She didn't feel very well. "I think I was out there a little too long..."

Jun bit his lip. "Fine. We'll go home." He turned all the heaters to her and was soon heading back to Anna's house. Once there, he still didn't let her walk. He carried her inside and upstairs to her bed where he quickly proceeded to take off her extra clothes and bury her under blankets. "I'm going to go make you some hot tea."

"Jun," Anna said grabbing his shirt. "Stay with me."

Jun looked back at her. Moving some hair from her forehead he kissed her. "I'm just going to make you some tea. I'll be right back," he promised her.

"Stay...I won't drink it anyways," she said. "Just until I fall asleep..."

He couldn't refuse her. He'd already come to that conclusion long ago. Going over to the other side of her bed, he kicked of his shoes and crawled beneath the covers. Propping himself up against her headrest, he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her to him so that she could sleep on his chest.

"I went to the graves, Jun. I asked for forgiveness," she mumbled as sleep moved over her. "Everything will be ok now...if you want to marry..." She didn't get a chance to finish. Sleep blanketed her form and in the matter of seconds, the world was gone.

Jun looked down at her small body. She was tired and delirious from the snow. That was all it was. Even as she fell to sleep, he hugged her. "Such a silly girl," he whispered as he tried to get comfortable for the night.

Anna woke in the morning with a fever. She was sweating and coughing madly. She tried getting out of bed and ready for school, but exhaustion settled in and she collapsed on the floor while reaching for her phone. She wanted her mother and father to come home but she couldn't be selfish.

Jun was trying to tie his tie when he heard something fall in Anna's room. He hurried in there only to see that Anna had fallen. "No way you're going to school today," he told her as he helped her back to bed. He felt her forehead. "You've got a fever. Undoubtedly you're sick from being out last night.'

Anna moaned. She rolled over in the bed. Her body ached and her head was killing her. She looked at Jun. He was dressed so nicely. Right...he was going to his father's office...his office. "When will you be home?"

"All day," he told her. Already he was calling his father's associate. "I'm not leaving you when you're sick."

Anna tugged on his shirt. She sat up slowly and started tying his tie. "No, you must go. You have responsibilities. I've been sick before and took care of myself." She smiled at him the sneeze and laid back again. "Will you call Rei and tell her I won't be bringing the pizza today?"

"Yes, just as soon as I-" He stopped as his boss's associate picked up the phone. "Yes. Mr. Musashi. No, I'm afraid something has come up. Yes, I understand the importance of this." He sighed. "Send me the stuff to look over and I'll do what I can."

Anna would have taken the phone from him if she had the strength to sit up and do so but even moving her head to the side to look at him was proving to take up too much energy. Where was her mother's herbal tea? And her father's homemade beef stew? She missed those things when she was sick, but they were not here. They were off working. Anna reached her hand out and clung to Jun as if he too was going to leave her, but she needed him there. She needed him badly.

Jun closed his phone and sighed. "Okay," he told her as he sat down on her bed. "You'll have me all to yourself today. What can I do for you first? You want something to eat?"

"I went to your father, Jun. I asked for his forgiveness." She needed to tell him. It was important yet she was losing her trail of thought. "Yes...food sounds nice...wait...I went to see your father, Jun. And I prayed."

"You prayed? For what?" He knew that she wasn't well. Her eyes kept fluttering and she seemed disoriented as if it was hard to keep her train of thought.

"For forgiveness and understanding..." she whispered. "For his blessing..."

"His blessing?" He couldn't see his father blessing anyone or anything.

"...to marry you," she said in a deep breath. "May I have something to eat now?"

Jun froze. He smiled at her and nodded. "Okay, I'll go fix you something." He kissed her cheek and then headed downstairs to cook her something. He figured that some American food might be helpful. Pulling out her mother's cookbook he leafed through, trying to find something that might be soothing. There was an ear marked page on something called beef stew. There was something written on it, but he couldn't tell what it was. He looked at the ingredients. He could make that.

Anna reached for her phone. Reisha would be in school, but she would reply to her text: Reisha...I'm sick...I have a fever I believe...and I think I just purposed to Jun.

Reisha checked her phone. Her eyes widening as she read the text. Wait...what? By proposed...you mean...like marriage propose?

Anna looked at her phone: Yes...I think...I don't know...my head feels weird...

Reisha frowned. Call me when you're feeling better. I have to hear about this.

Jun fixed her the meal and put it into a bowl. He then proceeded to make her the herbal tea with the directions her mother had left him. Grabbing her some medicine, he put it on her tray beside her tea. Once all that was done he took her food up to her room. "Hey, I hope you're hungry," he said.

Anna put her phone down. With a groan, she forced herself to sit up and rest her back on the headboard. As he set the tray down in her lap her eyes grew wide.

"Are my parents here?"

"No...." He felt her forehead again making sure that she wasn't feeling any hotter. "How are you feeling?" Why was she asking if her parents were here?

Anna turned her head to the side. "Are you sure? This is my mother's tea and my father's beef stew. They always make it for me when I'm sick..." She looked at Jun after coughing a few times. "Could you tell them I don't need them here that they could go back to work?"

"I'm sure they're not here," he told her. He was starting to get worried about her. "Here, take some medicine. It might make you feel better."

Anna shook her head. "My mother doesn't believe in modern medicine," she said with a light laugh. "And if she knew I took that with her herbal tea she would be really mad. The only time I use medicine is when I'm in the hospital."

"Well, you might need to go to the hospital if you get worse." If she wouldn't take her medicine, then he'd just have to watch over to make sure that she was okay. He sat on the edge of her bed, careful not to jostle her tray.

Anna picked at her food, but ate while she picked. Occasionally she would moved her hand to her head, feeling the knot and bruise. She looked at her wrist and smiled. "People are going to start thinking you beat me, Jun." She pushed at her tray. "Jun...I think I proposed to you..."

Jun looked at her. She still wasn't feeling well, so he wasn't certain if she meant anything that she said. "Yeah...I guess you did," he said with a soft laugh. "But...did you...I mean did you mean it?"

Anna picked her tray up and put it on the ground. She played with the blankets. "I...went out yesterday because I wanted to be forgiven for you..." Her head was throbbing and she felt so foggy. She had to fight it. "I wanted to be forgiven so I could marry you..." Why did she sound so funny to herself? "I mean...I want...I think...because..." She groaned. "Yes."

Jun reached to her and cupped her face in his hand. "You look tired. Do you want me to let you sleep?" She still seemed off. Though he desperately wanted to believe her words, he remembered the way she acted when he'd mentioned that yesterday. Besides, he was more worried about her physical well being then whether or not.... Well, okay marriage and her well being were about even as far as he was concerned.

Anna placed her hands over his on her face. "I want to elope. Do they have that here in Japan?"

Jun stopped. "Are you sure? I'm pretty sure that your parents wouldn't approve."

Anna shrugged. "They are never here! They wouldn't even notice!"

Jun smiled. Leaning forward he kissed her. "I'd love to," he whispered. Before she could get too excited, however, he placed a finger on her lips. "If you still want to after you get better, then we'll look into eloping."

Anna reached out and hugged him closely. "I'm going to be the best wife ever, Jun," she promised. Having his body pressed to hers was soothing. He was so warm and even though she was burning up, she didn't want to let go. He was still in his suit so she tried not to sneeze, instead, she fell asleep within the few seconds of the embrace.

"Sure you will," he whispered after she fell asleep. He held for a few moments longer before laying her back down and kissing her forehead. He took the tray of food and placed it downstairs. He then began to undress so he could get more comfortable while she slept. Slipping into a pair of sweat pants, he printed out the new files that he was suppose to read. After which he laid down beside her on her bed, gently stroking her as he read.
