Cassandra groaned as the sun hit her in the eyes. She placed an arm over her face and tried to turn the other way to cuddle a warm body but there was nothing. She slowly opened her eyes as she squinted and looked around for her girlfriend. Rapunzel sat not too far away, humming to herself, and the smell of food filled Cassandra’s nostrils.

Realizing she was awake, Rapunzel turned and smiled at her. “Morning Cass!”

“Morning.” Cass mumbled, sitting up and rubbing the rest of the sleep from her eyes. Rapunzel’s eyes drifted downward then she blushed and looked away. Cassandra looked down as well. Realizing she was still very much naked, she quickly brought the blanket up to cover her chest and looked away in embarrassment.

Rapunzel giggled. “Don’t be embarrassed Cass, you’re beautiful.” Cassandra’s blush only deepened as she avoided her eye contact. Shaking her head with a smile, Rapunzel tossed some clothes over to Cass. “Go freshen up, I made breakfast!” Cass only nodded as she dragged her clothes and the blanket with her.

Cassandra splashed some cold water on her face as she took a deep breath. She looked at her reflection in the water. Her hair was a mess, lipstick smudges on her face and she was practically beaming. Not a bad way to wake up. Cass wasn’t complaining. As she washed her face, a familiar voice appeared from behind her.

“You’re getting to comfy, Cassandra.” Moon appeared behind her with a smirk. Cassandra groaned. Moon hadn’t come around since they left Corona and Cass was starting to think that she left all together. Apparently not. “You tainted the princess’s pure heart, good job.” When she is finally starting to be happy, she always appears.

“Shut up.” Cassandra whispered.

“Why? You know it’s true. You know that relationships like yours are hated. Hunted. Chased. Disregarded. Run out of villages.” Moon smirked. “Killed.”

"Shut up!” Cassandra yelled. Moon circled her. Surrounded her. Suffocated her.

“You’re only setting her up for a life of detest and despise. When people start to catch on, you will be run out of villages with torches and pitchforks. They will hunt you. It was spread across the lands and the very loved princess Rapunzel will be hated and be known as a freak. You will never be able to set foot in a village ever again. It’s only a matter of time now.” Cassandra turned and walked back towards their camp, arms encircling herself as she tried to push her away. Moon disappeared but not without a laugh. Because she knew that Cassandra knew she was right.

Once she reached the camp, she sat down on one of the logs, hugging herself tightly and looked deep into the fire. Rapunzel turned to her but her face immediately fell as she quickly moved to sit next to her girlfriend. “Cass? Are you-” She didn’t get to finish.

“Rapunzel, can I ask you a question?” It was said so fast and serious, Rapunzel had to stop. Cassandra rarely ever used her full name unless it was for something serious.

“....Okay.” Rapunzel responded, uncertainly. “What is it?”

Cassandra was silent for a second. Rapunzel knew something was seriously wrong due to the fact Cassandra refused to look at her. “Are you... really sure this is what you want? ...Us?”

“What?” Rapunzel asked in disbelief. “Of course I’m sure! Cass, where is this coming from?”

Cassandra suddenly turned to her, her eyes frantic and scared. “Don’t you see? We aren’t allowed! I’ve seen what happens to people like me, like us, and it isn’t good! If anyone found out, which eventually they will, your- your reputation will be ruined! We will be outlawed and hated and hunted and - and..” Cassandra took a shaky breath. “I don’t want that kind of life for you.” She looked away. What she wasn’t expecting was for Rapunzel to whip her back around and make sure she looked her in her eyes. At the moment, her very anger-filled eyes. Cassandra looked away.

“Cass, look at me.” Rapunzel demanded. Cassandra didn’t. “I said look at me!” She pretty much grabbed both sides of her cheeks and forced her too. Huffing, Rapunzel started talking. “Let me decide that, Cassandra. I'm tired of everyone making decisions for me and trying to run my life." Cassandra opened her mouth to say something but a glare from Rapunzel shut her up real quick. "I’m not stupid, Cass, I know the dangers of being in a relationship that is... not exactly appreciated. But when I tell you that I don’t care, I mean it. They could hate me for all I care. They could detest me. They can run me, us, out of villages. I’m not scared, Cass.” Rapunzel’s eyes softened as she loosened her grip and ran her thumb over Cassandra’s cheek bone. “If I was unsure about all of this, I wouldn’t have done it. But I know that whatever comes our way, we’re gonna be fine. I will live in the middle of the forest away from other people for the rest of my life if it means I could be with you.” She smiled. Cassandra gave her a small, sad smile and leaned into her touch. Rapunzel’s face dropped a second later. “What I don’t understand, Cass, is where this is all coming from. What’s going on, Cassandra? What aren't you telling me?” Cassandra looked away. How did Rapunzel always know?Rapunzel gently grasped Cassandra’s hands in her own. “Hey, talk to me.”

She wanted to tell her. Should she tell her? She deserved to know, didn’t she? After everything that’s happened the last month proved that Rapunzel wasn't disgusted with her or hated her. So, maybe... just maybe.. she would understand. Cassandra was tired of keeping secrets from Rapunzel and she knew Rapunzel was too. If she wanted to be with her, she needed to tell her things that were harming Cassandra. Mentally or physically.

“Ever since...” Cassandra started. She hated talking about feelings. She was never the mushy feely type, she was a warrior. She never knew how to put her feelings into words. But she had to try for Rapunzel. Rapunzel knew this. She stayed silent and waited until she was ready. Cassandra was grateful for that and it made her love her even more. “Ever since... Ever since after the moonstone, after it got destroyed, there’s been this.. voice that follows me around.”

Realization flashed through Rapunzel’s eyes as she grasped the older woman's hands tighter. She could tell how upset it made Cass. She wouldn’t look at her and she looked close to tears. Rapunzel read all about PTSD and other mental illnesses after Cass left. She read every other book in the library and those were the only ones left. If someone is plagued by immense guilt, or they’re incredibly insecure, oftentimes than not, they will have something that follows them around that plays with their feelings and emotions that their own mind created. Usually, they would go away with time depending on the person and how they heal. Rapunzel’s eyes filled with sorrow as she realized that this thing has been following Cass around for 4 years. It explained a lot, if Rapunzel was being honest. “Oh, Cass...”

Cassandra kept avoiding her eye contact and Rapunzel stayed quiet so she could let her lover get out what she’s been fighting, what she’s been keeping in, for years. She knew feeling-related stuff wasn’t easy for Cass, so if Cassandra could get out even a little bit, Rapunzel was happy.

“I suppose she- it -was always there. I just never really listened to it. The voice started becoming louder after...” Cassandra squeezed her right hand. “....after the incident at the Great Tree.” She finished. Rapunzel had to keep her emotions in check. Cass needed her right now. “Before I decided to take the moonstone, it was like.. there were two parts of me. A part of me that wanted to protect you and be with you to the end and the other....” That wanted to kill you and make you suffer. Cassandra thought then shook her head, unable to say it. Rapunzel got what she meant. “I ended up following the second voice. For a while, it was all I knew. All I felt. In the beginning, I never wanted to hurt anyone. But as Zhan Tiri told me lies, as the moonstone clouded my thoughts, she began to.. come out. I followed her because I didn’t know what else to do. I was hurt, angry, upset... the rage never ended. It was exhausting. At one point, I just wanted to give up but she wouldn’t let me. Deep down, I saw the person I was becoming and as time went on, I started to care less and less. I was mad with power. I was hurt. But I was so scared. When Zhan Tiri told me that.. destroying.. you was my destiny, I was terrified. I never wanted to hurt you. I was mad, yeah, but hurting you was the last thing on my mind. But it just.. went in that direction. I locked away anything that resembled who I actually was and focused instead on the rage. After the moonstone left my body, after Zhan Tiri died, after I left, she never left. She followed me around for a while and I learned to ignore her. But after I returned to Corona.. she started coming back. And now, she never leaves. I was so weak back then. I let Zhan Tiri control me, I let her control me, what if I give in again? Sometimes, the things she says.. they still make me angry and upset. She constantly reminds me about... about that journey, the journey where we fell apart. I still get so upset. I still get mad and hurt. ...At you. A-And I... what if I give in? ....What if I hurt you again?” Cassandra finally looked at her. She looked so scared. Rapunzel had never seen Cass look scared. She never showed fear. Ever. No matter what the circumstance was. She once told her that if you show your enemy fear, you already lost. So for Cass to be scared, it was showing how much this was affecting her.

Rapunzel stared at their joined hands to gather her thoughts before she tightened her hold and looked back up at her with a serious expression. “You won’t.”

“But-”

“You won’t, Cass.” Rapunzel had never been more sure about something in her life.

“But how do you know? I-I shouldn’t still be mad o-or feel envious or anything-”

“Cass, it’s okay to feel those emotions. Sometimes, I still get mad at you too about... that time. It’s perfectly okay to feel those things.”

“But I shouldn’t-”

“Do you hate me?”

“What?” Cassandra blinked in disbelief. “No, god no, of course not! Never!”

Rapunzel smiled. “Then there’s your answer. You don’t need to lock away any emotion whatsoever. Even if it’s ill will towards me. You’re allowed to feel those things, don’t limit yourself.”

“But what if I hurt-”

“Do you want to hurt me?”

“No! But-”

“You’re stronger now, Cass. You can beat whatever this voice, this thing, throws at you. We’re stronger. You are an amazing, kind-hearted person. Even back then, I never thought any different of you. You never changed, Cass, you got lost. There’s a difference. A big difference. At the end of the day, you were the same person under all that rage even if you thought otherwise. In the end, you pretty much gave your life for me, for Corona. When it mattered, you made the right choice. As I knew from the very beginning that you would. But if you do get lost again, if you do tap into that rage again, I will fight to get you back just like I did before. I love you and I will never, ever, ever give up on you no matter what happens. But, I know you won’t. I know you’ll never hurt me again. I know you’ll never be.. her.. ever again. Because that’s not who you are. I’ve seen how strong you’ve gotten, how hard you’ve worked, how far you’ve come along. Before, I could barely get a word out of you if it came to feelings. Now, you’re telling me and more and you have no idea how much that means to me. We’ve all changed, we’ve all grown, since then, Cass. It will always shadow us, always shadow you, and this... person.. probably won’t go away for a long time. But I know you’re stronger than her. You’re stubborn, I know you won’t give in so easily without a fight. You are my best friend, my life, my love, my soul and no matter what is thrown our way, we’ll deal with it together. You’re not alone anymore, Cassandra. And you never will be ever again. I will be here until the end. And that’s a promise.” Rapunzel barely had time to prepare as suddenly Cassandra’s lips were pressed up against hers in the most sweetest, loving, affectionate kiss she had ever received to the point where it brought tears to her eyes. She could tell Cassandra was putting all over her emotions into that kiss and it carried. Rapunzel felt it all. Rapunzel poured all of her emotions back. Rapunzel couldn’t stop the tears from spilling over and apparently, neither could Cassandra.

When Cassandra finally parted, she rested her forehead against Rapunzel’s. “I love you.” She whispered.

Rapunzel gave her a sweet smile. “I love you too.” Cassandra smiled back just as sweet. After a couple minutes, Rapunzel giggled and asked: “So what should we call her when she comes back around?”

Cassandra’s eyes widened. “How did you know-”

Rapunzel winked. “I know things.”

Cassandra relaxed and chuckled. “I named her Moon.”

“Moon, huh? Mysterious, I like it.”

Cassandra laughed. “You’re such a dork.”

“But I’m your dork.”

Cassandra wrapped her arm around Rapunzel’s shoulder and pulled her into her. Cassandra nuzzled Rapunzel which made her giggle. “You got that right.”

Rapunzel lay her head on Cassandra’s shoulder. “I love when you’re like this.”

“Like what?” Cass tilted her head.

Rapunzel looked up at her and smiled from her place on Cassandra’s shoulder. “Like this. Affectionate, sweet, playful. I’m just glad you can finally be yourself around me.”

Cassandra smiled affectionately. “You tend to have that effect on people.”

Rapunzel laughed. “I guess. But you took a little longer to.. decode.” She joked and Cassandra laughed.

“Well, like you said, I’m stubborn.”

“But I’m even more stubborn.”

“I doubt that.”

“Fine. We’re equally as stubborn.”

“Well...”

“Cass!” Rapunzel laughed and swatted at her shoulder. Cass gave her a lopsided, goofy smile.

“Seriously, though, you’re amazing. An actual gift from the heavens, too pure for this cruel world.”

Rapunzel blushed deeply. “Well...” Rapunzel smiled. “There’s always light somewhere in the darkness. You just got to find it.”

“I already did. You’re my light.”

“And you’re mine.” Rapunzel responded, leaning against her. Cassandra’s eyes softened as she kissed her forehead.

Rapunzel nuzzled into her before giggling. “And to think, all this started because you got high on drugs.”

Cassandra groaned. “Don’t remind me. That wasn’t exactly how I planned my confession to go.”

“Well, I’m glad you did. Because I didn’t know how much longer I could’ve waited.”

“Would you have waited?”

“For you? Always.” Rapunzel leaned up and placed a gentle kiss on her lips before pulling away. “Now, come on, we have to-” She didn’t get to finish because she was pulled back down into Cassandra’s lap and Cassandra’s lips were on her own. Unlike before, this was a not so innocent kiss as she deepened it and tilted Rapunzel’s head back, making her moan slightly as she sat on Cassandra’s lap, her legs on either side of her. Cassandra could already feel the wetness gathering between the princess’s legs.

Just from one kiss. Cassandra thought with a snicker.

She eventually parted as both women panted, Rapunzel’s mouth was open slightly and her eyes were dazed over with passion. “I guess we can make some time.” She muttered.

Cassandra let out a genuine laugh. It was music to Rapunzel’s ears as she grinned. Cassandra then kissed the tip of her nose, which arose a cute giggle from Rapunzel, as she nuzzled her. Suddenly remembering something, Cassandra gave Rapunzel a smirk. A heated smirk.

“W-What’s that look for?” It caught Rapunzel off guard.

“Who knew the innocent princess of Corona was so dirty.” Rapunzel’s face immediately heated up as she hid her face in Cassandra’s neck from embarrassment.

“Aw, don't be embarrassed.” Cassandra said with a smirk. “I thought it was hot.” Rapunzel groaned and pressed even further into her. She could rarely ever make Rapunzel flustered, because not much made her flustered, so when she had the chance, she took it.

“You better stop now, Cass, or I’ll give you something to be surprised about.” Rapunzel responded, her voice heated.

“Ooooh really? What exactly are you gonna do that’ll surprise me?” Cassandra was intrigued now.

“This.” Rapunzel stated simply and before she could even process what was happening, she was on her back, being pinned down with a very hot-looking Rapunzel above her. She was surprised at her strength and even more so, turned on like no other because of it. Before she could process anything, Rapunzel’s lips were on hers. She then pulled away, inches apart, before whispering hotly, her eyes sparkling: “I can be dominant too, Cass.”

“Oh, really?” Cassandra asked, her eyes dark. “You’re gonna battle for dominance now, hm?”

“Mhm,” Rapunzel grinded against her which made a moan arise from Cassandra. “Whatcha gonna do about it?”

“I’m not sure you want to find out.”

“Uh-huh, because you know I’m gonna win.” Rapunzel knew what she was getting herself into, but she didn’t care at that moment.

“Oh yeah?” Cassandra’s voice was dark and threatening and if Rapunzel didn’t know any better, she would be scared.

“Yeah,” Rapunzel whispered.

“I’m warning you, Rapunzel, you might want to stop while you still can.”

Rapunzel knew that this last part was probably gonna be her death sentence, or at least the death of her dignity, but she went ahead with it anyway: “Make me.”

As soon as the words left her mouth, she couldn’t even process what happened. One minute she was straddling Cassandra, the next she was on the floor with her hands pinned above her head and a pissed-off, well sorta, hot-looking Cassandra that made heat rush to between Rapunzel’s legs. Cassandra had this dangerous look in her eyes, almost wild-like, untamed, and Rapunzel had never been more turned on in her life. “You want dominant?” Cassandra asked, her voice low and dangerous but so, so hot. “I’ll show you dominant.” Cassandra then leaned forward and captured Rapunzel’s lips into a harsh but mind-shattering kiss that made Rapunzel’s whole body blazing hot.

Cassandra only let go when air became a necessity for both of them. She then untied the cloth around her waist then tied it around Rapunzel’s wrists and tied the end of the cloth to a hard branch that hung from the log. Rapunzel was effectively trapped and at Cass’s mercy. But she didn’t care. Cass pulled her shirt over her head, throwing it somewhere, so that all that was left was her pants and her bra. Rapunzel ran her eyes up and down her body and she wasn’t displeased. To the toned abs, to her perky breasts, to her beautiful face: she was a sight to behold.

Rapunzel wanted nothing more to run her hands up and down her toned stomach but she couldn’t as she gently tugged at the bindings. If Cass’s cocky smirk said anything about it, she already knew what Rapunzel wanted. “Cass, please?”

“No,” Cassandra responded. “You dug your grave and now you’re gonna lie in it.” Cassandra leaned forward, her face nearly inches away from Rapunzel’s. “You gotta earn it.”

Rapunzel snickered. “Yes, mistress.” Cassandra only rolled her eyes at the joke before capturing her lips. Cassandra roughly pushed her tongue into her mouth as Rapunzel let out a moan. Cassandra’s rough treatment made Rapunzel even hotter. Her, nor Cassandra, ever expected Rapunzel to be the rough sub type. Sure, Cassandra knew Rapunzel liked it rough, as she has said, but she never expected her to like the rough treatment, the punishments or the snarky remarks. And most especially, the very, very dirty talk. But hey, Cass wasn’t complaining. She was falling apart in her arms and she was quite enjoying herself. Cassandra herself has always been the dominant type when it came to stuff in bed. Well, she’s dominant with everything in her life but she’s always been the demanding ‘do as I say or I’ll punish you’ type of gal. She never got to explore that side of her and she never thought she would have. Especially when she thought about fantasies that involved Rapunzel, as much as she wanted to think dominant, she always pictured her being gentle and loving with soft caresses and such. Because, on the outside, that was Rapunzel. Well, apparently the princess had some deep dark secrets of her own. But either way, this was a dream come true for Cassandra. Being with Rapunzel was a dream come true by itself. But this was just an added bonus.

Pulling back, Cassandra looked Rapunzel in the eye. “Safe word?”

Rapunzel thought for a second before tilting her head, her hair falling to the side. “Moon.” She smiled a mischievous smile. Cassandra rolled her eyes but otherwise didn’t say anything as she captured Rapunzel’s lips again; immediately switching back into that dominant role. She ran her tongue over Rapunzel’s bottom lip then pushed it into her mouth; earning herself a deep moan. Cassandra ran her hands up and down her body but didn’t quite touch, knowing it would drive Rapunzel insane. And it did. She could feel Rapunzel pressing her legs together under her.

Cassandra pulled back and she smirked. The type of smirk she did when she was about to do something bad. Rapunzel didn’t like that smirk. “I hope you brought other clothes~”

Realizing set in from Cassandra’s words and Rapunzel’s eyes widened. “Wait, Cass-” But it was already too late. The sound of fabric ripping could be heard throughout the forest. Before Rapunzel could say a damn thing about it, Cassandra was attacking her breasts. Rapunzel’s eyes widened as her back arched with a moan.

Rapunzel wanted nothing more than to run her hands through Cassandra’s hair, to touch her, to do anything but she couldn’t and it was equally as frustrating as it was thrilling. Cassandra attacked her breasts, leaving little bite marks, and swirled her tongue around the soft mounds. Rapunzel had never been more turned on in her life. Rapunzel whimpered because she needed more. She was nearly willing to beg. Rapunzel was a lot of things, but she wasn’t a beggar. But Cassandra was driving her crazy and she needed her in other places desperately.

“C-Cass, please,” Rapunzel pleaded.

Cassandra pulled her head back up to meet her eyes, her eyes dark and demanding. “Say my name.”

“C-Cass.”

“No, my full name.”

“C-Cassandra.”

“Louder.”

“C-Cassandra-!” Rapunzel tried to listen, she really did, but Cassandra’s slow hip thrusts made it impossible to focus. She vaguely heard Cassandra demand the phrase again but all she could do was let out a moan as Cassandra thrusted against her.

Cassandra growled, which was quite sexy if Rapunzel had anything to say about it, and shouted. “Louder, Rapunzel!”

“C-Cassandra!” This time, Rapunzel did scream, desperately needing Cassandra to touch her there.

Cassandra gave her a cocky smirk. “Good girl.” She teased before reaching down and finally touching where Rapunzel needed her too. As Cass opened her legs more, she was placed nicely between them, she gave another thrust and this time, it hit Rapunzel in the most sensitive spot as she gasped and arched her back. Cassandra continued to do slow, torturous thrusts as she once more kissed her. Her thrusts eventually became quicker as Rapunzel’s voice grew in volume. It felt so good, but it wasn’t enough.

“Cassandra, please." Rapunzel pleaded, her voice hoarse and barely above a whisper. Cassandra decided to take pity on her as she reached down and with one fluid motion, stuck her fingers deep inside of her.

Rapunzel’s eyes widened and if not for her bindings, she would have shot forward. “Fuck!” She was so worked up that the release she had been needing instantly hit her like a ton of bricks as she arched her back with a gasp.

Breathing heavily, after coming back to herself, she noticed Cassandra looking at her in surprise before a slow smirk made its way to her features as she slowly removed her hand, making Rapunzel groan. “And you yell at me for having a dirty mouth.”

“S-Shut up.” Rapunzel tried to glare only for Cass to give her a specifically hard thrust of her hips that made any remark die on Rapunzel’s tongue as she moaned. Her eyes were half-closed as she rocked against her. Cassandra smirked due to the fact she could make her lover writhe and become jelly beneath her with just a few touches. Deciding that she earned it, she undid her bindings and almost immediately, Rapunzel shot forward and captured Cassandra’s lip with her own, arms around her neck. Cassandra melted into the kiss and kissed her back just as feverishly.

The passion grew as both women kissed like their lives depended on it, tongue and all. Rapunzel eventually removed her arms from around her neck and did what she had been dying to do this whole time: run her hands up and down Cassandra’s body. As her warm hands ran over Cassandra’s warm skin, Cassandra couldn’t help but shiver involuntarily. Rapunzel pushed herself more up until she was in a half-sitting position, Cassandra still positioned over her. Cassandra groaned as Rapunzel kissed the hell out of her. Rapunzel eventually pulled back and smiled sweetly at what she saw.

Cassandra was practically beaming. Her eyes were soft and loving like Rapunzel had never seen before, there was a soft smile on her lips, her body seemed to glow in the sun. She had never seen Cassandra’s guard down like this before and she most certainly had never seen Cass look at anyone like she was looking at her in that moment. Pure, unadulterated love. Pure happiness. The usually stoic warrior, the woman who usually masked her feelings and kept her face hardened and her guard up was looking down at her like she was the most precious thing in the world. The woman who kept herself hidden, locked away, her true self, was showing Rapunzel her true colors right then. The true colors Rapunzel had been trying to get out of her since the first day they met. The true colors she always knew Cassandra had but was never able to completely unlock. Who Cassandra really was under all that anger, pain, coldness, agony and guarded heart. She looked beautiful. Breathtaking.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Cassandra asked with a small chuckle and tilt of her head.

Rapunzel shook her head to knock her out of her thoughts. “Sorry, it’s just... I’ve never seen you look so happy before, so open, so... you. The soft side of you. The side I rarely ever got to see.”

Cassandra’s eyes softened as she smiled at her girlfriend and leaned down. She placed a gentle, loving kiss on Rapunzel’s lips before whispering: ”You make me happy. Ever since you decided to leave Corona with me.. Well.. it’s all been a dream come true. There hasn’t been a single moment where I haven’t enjoyed my time out here with you. All this time.. I’ve been searching for a destiny. My whole life I never understood my purpose in this world. I tried to make a destiny for myself when I already had one right in front of me.”

“....What’s your destiny, Cassandra?” Rapunzel asked in a whisper; already knowing where this was going, but not quite believing that it was happening herself.

Cassandra smiled the sweetest, most purest smile she had ever seen on anyone. "Being with you. Protecting you. Loving you. When I first left Corona, it was because I thought that I needed to find a destiny.. that you weren’t a part of. A destiny I needed to find on my own. But, now, I realize that I don’t want a destiny without you in it. You are my destiny, Rapunzel. My light. My sun. My love. My everything."

Her words were so sweet, so true, it made tears come to Rapunzel’s eyes as she pulled Cassandra down to kiss her then pulled her into her body so that Cassandra was laying on top of her. She dug her face into her neck as the tears came pouring out. “You’re my destiny too, Cass. My light. My moon. My love. My everything.” Rapunzel whispered, repeating what Cassandra had said, while nuzzling into Cassandra’s neck before pulling back and smiling at her, her eyes wet and sweet. Tears coming to her own eyes, Cassandra wrapped her arms around Rapunzel’s torso and buried her face into her neck.

This time, for the first time in a long time, Cassandra freely let her tears fall. “I love you.” She mumbled, her voice cracking.

Rapunzel smiled and wrapped her arms around Cassandra, pulling her in close before running one hand through her hair. “I love you too, Cassandra.”

The two of them lay like that, no other words were needed, as the sun hit their skin and made them both glow. Somewhere in the far distance, you could see the moon making itself known in the bright blue sky.

Right next to the sun.
