“There you are,” Cassandra said as she looked at her fiance sitting on the grassy hill overlooking the valley. It had been another two weeks since the whole blackstone fiasco. Rapunzel was nearly fully healed, but it was still gonna take at least another week before they could get back on the road. Rapunzel knew she was pretty much fully healed, enough where they could start traveling now, but Cassandra, being the overprotective fiance she was, pretty much ordered that they were gonna stay another week just to be safe. “I was looking for you.”

“Sorry,” Rapunzel responded but it didn’t sound like her usual cheery tone. It was barely above a whisper. It sounded quiet, sorrow-filled and maybe even a bit lost.

Cassandra immediately knew something was wrong. Her worry doubled due to the fact that when she sat down next to her, Rapunzel just continued staring out at the open field and hugged her knees tighter. She didn’t even look at her. “Hey, what’s the matter?” Cassandra asked, her voice tinting with worry.

Rapunzel nearly said ‘It’s nothing’ and ‘I’m fine’ which was her usual response to stuff like this, but she knew Cassandra would see right through her lie anyway so she went with the truth. “I just... I can’t believe Gothel is alive. All this time... she’s been alive.” Rapunzel turned to look at Cassandra finally. “I know she isn’t my real mother, but she was all I knew for most of my life. She was the only person I had for a very, very long time.” Rapunzel looked away again. “I know that she’s not my true mother and she’s a horrible person but...” Rapunzel trailed off.

“Hey,” Cassandra said as she placed herself in front of Rapunzel so that she would look at her. She rested her hands on her knees lovingly. “It’s okay to have those feelings. You’re right, she was the only ‘mother’ figure you had for most of your life. The only actual person you knew for a long time. And you have a huge heart, so I know that child part of you missed her and is conflicted right now. Even if her love was false and she made you live a lie, she was still your mother and all you knew for a huge portion of your life.”

Rapunzel was surprised, but she didn’t show it. When did Cassandra become better at feelings than her? When did she become good at talking about mushy-feeling related stuff? But despite her confliction, she was seriously touched. “What about you?”

“What about me?” Cassandra asked in confusion.

“She’s your biological mother, how are you feeling about all of this?”

Cassandra shrugged. “I don’t feel anything towards her, Raps. Maybe I did when I first found out, but not anymore. I’m over it. I don’t know her, I never knew her, and I don’t want to know her. You, on the other hand, do. You wanna know what seriously pisses me off, though?” Rapunzel tilted her head slightly. “The fact that she didn’t even care. She didn’t care about your life, nor mine, and sent me after you. She practically raised you - what kind of person does that? I know that she wasn’t the greatest mother figure to you.. But that has to hurt a lot, Raps. Are you sure you’re okay?”

Rapunzel chuckled sadly. “I practically raised myself.”

“You didn’t answer the question.” Dammit.

Rapunzel shrugged and sighed. “I guess. I shouldn’t have expected any less though.”

“You’re still avoiding the question.” Mother fuc-

“Okay, yes, fine, it hurts a lot, okay? Happy?” Realizing that she just snapped at her fiance who was only trying to help, she quickly looked down. “Sorry.”

“Don’t be,” Cassandra responded, replacing herself back to Rapunzel’s side. “I already knew the answer anyway. You know, for someone who wears her heart on her sleeve, you’re worse with talking about your feelings than me.” Cassandra gave her a lopsided grin, hoping to at least get a smile out of her.

It worked better than she expected. Rapunzel let out a small laugh and Cassandra couldn’t help but smile at the sound of it. “Yeah, I guess I am. But at least I didn’t take over an entire kingdom.” Rapunzel gave her a small, teasing smile.

Cassandra laughed. “You have a point.” Rapunzel let out another giggle but then she went silent. Cassandra’s heart ached at the sight of her sorrow-filled expression. Sighing, Cassandra moved behind her and lifted her up, earning herself a cute surprised squeak, then placed Rapunzel between her legs. She wrapped her arms around her stomach and pulled her back into her chest then rested her head on top of Rapunzel’s. Rapunzel was tense for only a split second before she relaxed and cuddled into her embrace. “It’s okay to be hurt, Rapunzel. If my father ended up dying and popped up years later just to try and hurt me, I would be really hurt too.”

“Your father would never do that, Cass. He loves you a lot.”

Cassandra smiled and kissed the top of her head. “I know. But I was making a point.”

“Wait, hold on. Does your father know that you are...?”

“We’re getting off topic here. This is supposed to be about-”

“Just answer the question, Cass.”

Cassandra sighed, knowing that Rapunzel was trying to get off topic on purpose. Just like she asked Rapunzel to do for her years ago, she was going to wait until Rapunzel was ready to talk about it. “I tried to tell him but he’s uh - He’s all about protocol so I thought better of it.”

Rapunzel turned around in her arms so that she was facing her and gave her a sympathetic expression. “So not only did you have to hide from your own dad, but your friends and other people too?”

Cassandra shrugged. “Yeah,”

“Cass, I... I wish you would’ve told me sooner so you wouldn’t have had to carry that all on your own. You know I would have never judged you.”

“I wanted to. But with you being the princess and...“Cassandra trailed off.

“You didn’t trust me, is what you’re saying.” Rapunzel looked down.

“No, of course I did! I just...”

Rapunzel looked back up and gave her a small smile before reaching up and gently placing her hand on Cass’s cheek. “It’s okay, Cass. I get it. You were hurt by people you thought were your friends, I would be a little on the cautious side too.”

“Raps, it’s not that I didn’t trust you. I mean, at first, I was a little... hesitant but I wanted to tell you once our friendship started to flourish. But I couldn’t. If I ever got exposed and they found out you knew... You would have been punished the same way they would have done to me. And you know what that punishment would have been, right?”

Rapunzel slowly nodded. “Unfortunately, yes.” Rapunzel looked back up to meet her eyes. “So you stayed hidden and pretended to be something you weren’t... to protect me?”

“Of course, I’d never put you in harm's way if I could help it.”

Rapunzel shook her head. “I want to be mad, but I can’t now that you said that.”

Cassandra grinned. “So all I have to do to get you from being mad at me is say something sweet? Noted.”

“Watch it.” Rapunzel gave her a tired, fake reprimanding glare. “It’s not gonna work every time.”

“Mm, I beg to differ. It’s worked so far. It’s worked on more than one occasion over the years.” Cassandra snickered.

Rapunzel gasped and her eyes widened. “You did know what you were doing!”

Cassandra snickered a second time. “Oh, totally.”

“You..!” Rapunzel huffed and gently swatted her shoulder, making another laugh arise from Cassandra. Rapunzel huffed again and crossed her arms, looking away.

“Oh, come on Raps, you know you love me.” Cassandra grinned. Rapunzel only made a stubborn kiddish huffing sound and continued to look away. “Come on, Rapunzel~” Cassandra tried again, pulling her closer. When Rapunzel still stubbornly looked away, Cassandra smirked. “Alright, you asked for it. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Cassandra let go of her and moved away, crouching like a cat ready to pounce.

Rapunzel quickly snapped her eyes back to her. “Cassandra, don’t you dare-!” But it was already too late. Cassandra tackled her to the floor and pinned her down then started tickling her. Rapunzel burst out into laughter. When air became a necessity, Rapunzel relented. “Alright, alright, you win!” Cass immediately stopped as Rapunzel tried to catch her breath. Cassandra didn’t move from her position above her. Once she caught her breath, Rapunzel looked up at her with a glare that betrayed her because she couldn’t stop a smile from forming. “That was playing dirty.”

“What can I say? I’m a dirty person.” Cassandra said with a suggestive wink and a smirk.

This time, Rapunzel couldn’t hold back a laugh. “When did you get such a dirty mouth?”

“Oh, I’ve always had it. I just tended to keep my comments to myself because you were too innocent to understand anyway.”

“I would’ve understood!”

“Uhuh, but I would’ve been receiving reprimanding glares all day.” Rapunzel opened her mouth to argue then closed it, knowing she was right. “That’s what I thought.” Cassandra said with a smirk. “Besides, there was no point in using it anyway. God knows I would never make such a comment in front of Eugene. It’s more fun this way - because I can act on my comments. My thoughts and comments might be dirty, but there are other things about me that are... even dirtier.” Cassandra smirked as she sneaked her hand up Rapunzel’s dress and slowly trailed her hand up her thigh. Rapunzel’s breath hitched and Cassandra’s smirk widened.

“Cass, we’re in public.” Rapunzel whispered.

“So?”

"So, we should do this somewhere a little more private.”

“I have the perfect place.” Cassandra smirked and before Rapunzel could respond, she was picked up bridal style and suddenly she was flying through the air.

Rapunzel let out a small, surprised screech and held tighter onto Cassandra’s neck as she soared through the air. Cassandra sprouted black rocks from the earth and jumped to each one. Before Rapunzel knew it, although it felt like ages, it was over. As she still held tightly onto Cassandra’s neck, her hair was all disheveled and her expression was one of shock, surprise and even a little bit of fear. She heard Cassandra trying to stifle laughter and she looked up at her with a glare as Cassandra put her back on her feet.

“Not funny!”

Cassandra wasn’t able to hold it back anymore as she burst into laughter. “You should have seen your face!”

“Yeah, you’re laughing now.” Rapunzel mumbled under her breath. Rapunzel wanted to stay mad or say something snarky, but the place Cassandra brought her too stopped her in her tracks. “Woah.” The place was gorgeous. It was a secluded area, not found very easily, but it was absolutely breathtaking. There was a pool of water, a small lake, and the moon shone down on it, making the water glow. The entire place seemed to be sparkling. It reminded Rapunzel a lot of the Lost Lagoon.

“I found this place a while back,” Cassandra commented next to her with a small thoughtful smile as she looked at the beautiful scenery.

“You’ve been here before?” Rapunzel asked, still in disbelief and awe.

“Mhm, I have. It’s why I knew where to take you when I had to find a place quickly.”

“It’s gorgeous, Cass. It reminds me of..”

“The Lost Lagoon, I know. That’s what I thought of too when I found it.” Cassandra looked down and gave her a sweet smile. “It made me miss you.”

Rapunzel’s eyes immediately softened before she whispered: “That’s not fair. You’re doing that thing again.”

“Haha, maybe.” Cassandra chuckled. “But I’m being serious too. I marked it on the map, hoping I could bring you here one day. We have a lot of good memories in Corona, as well as a lot of bad, but I wanted to make new memories with you outside of Corona one day. Now, I get to.”

Rapunzel couldn’t help but place a small kiss on Cassandra’s lips. “You’re becoming too sweet for your own good.” She whispered with a smile.

“Hm, would you prefer if I used sarcasm?”

Rapunzel laughed. “No, no. Don’t ruin the moment.” Cassandra chuckled before grabbing Rapunzel’s hand and started leading her towards the water. Cassandra, who was wearing normal clothing instead of her moonstone armor, started to undress. “Cass,” Rapunzel giggled, a small blush covering her cheeks. “What are you doing?”

“Going for a swim,” She responded with a handsome smile. “Care to join me?”

“Always,” Rapunzel responded with no hesitation. Once both women were undressed, they walked into the surprisingly slightly warm water. Rapunzel swam to the middle of it and Cass followed. Rapunzel looked up at her fiance as she wrapped her arms around her neck and rested her head on her chest under her chin. Cassandra placed her hands on her waist.

Minutes passed before either said anything. “Do you remember when you taught me how to swim?” Cassandra asked thoughtfully.

Rapunzel pulled back but didn’t remove her arms from Cass’s neck. Cassandra also still kept her hands on her waist. Smiling, Rapunzel responded. “Of course I do. It was the first time you showed me any trust.”

“That was the first nice thing anyone had ever done for me in my life.” Cassandra responded with a sweet smile. “It was really an eye opener for me. Well, at least, the beginning of one. It was the first time I actually felt like someone cared about me.”

Rapunzel smiled back and reached up to wipe her wet bangs out of her face. “I was so proud of you,”

Cassandra chuckled. “You barely knew me.”

“You don’t have to know someone to be proud. That was the day I realized... that you were my hero.”

Cassandra blushed deeply and looked away. That compliment got to her more than she’d like to admit; but in a good way. “‘Hero’ is stretching it a bit, Raps.”

“No, I’m serious. And you’re still my hero; the person I look up too, for guidance and advice, and so much more. You are my inspiration that gets me ready for the day, especially when I had all those annoying princess duties, and you’re the reason why I’ve been able to be so brave over the years. All these years, most of the things I’ve been able to face and do, was because of you. You’re amazing, Cassandra.”

Cassandra was at a loss for words. Although Rapunzel had given her many, many compliments over the years that had her heart soaring, this one seriously got to her. It was such a small thing compared to a lot of other things Rapunzel had said to her. She had no idea why this one got to her this much, but she had never felt such a strong feeling before. All these years, Rapunzel was able to be.. Rapunzel because of her? It was hard to wrap her head around it. Rapunzel was the bravest, kindest, most amazing person she knew and she was all that - because of her.

Swallowing back tears, Cassandra spoke finally. “Wow, Raps, that’s... wow.”

Rapunzel, knowing Cassandra too well, smiled sweetly and pushed herself up so that she could place a loving kiss on Cassandra’s lips. Cassandra hesitated for a second, only because she was still in absolute awe, but once she regained herself, she pulled Rapunzel closer by her hips and kissed her back just as lovingly. Rapunzel smiled into the kiss and pushed herself closer.

When both finally parted, Rapunzel placed a loving hand on Cassandra’s cheek. “I love you, my moon.”

“I love you too, my sun.” Cassandra responded with a sweet smile.

Rapunzel’s face suddenly lit up. “Oh! That can be our couple nicknames for each other!”

Cassandra chuckled at her enthusiasm. “I thought we already had nicknames for each other.”

“No, that’s just short versions of our names. Sun and moon can be our special nicknames for each other!”

Unable to resist Rapunzel’s adorable enthusiasm, Cassandra rolled her eyes with a smile and relented. “Alright, alright. But what about Moon? Wouldn’t it be confusing?”

“Has Moon come back?” Rapunzel asked with concern.

“No, but if she ever does..”

“Then we make sure she doesn’t by using the nicknames!”

“I don’t think that-”

“Pleeeasseeee Cass,” Rapunzel gave her the puppy eyes and even threw in a puppy-like whimper.

Cassandra, once more, couldn’t resist as she let out a small laugh. “Alright, alright!”

“Yay!” Rapunzel threw herself at Cass and hugged her tighter. Cassandra rolled her eyes with a smile but otherwise hugged her back.

“Well, sun, where to next?”

“I don’t know, moon, what do you have in mind?”

“Oh, I can think of a couple things.” Cassandra grinned and started leaning closer.

“Hm, do share.” Rapunzel responded in a whisper.

“How about I just show you?” Cassandra whispered as they both slowly leaned in closer.

“That works too.” With that, their lips met into a kiss that made both of their worlds explode with color. Cassandra couldn’t help but smile happily into the kiss as she brought Rapunzel more firmly against her. Rapunzel surprised the hell out of her though when she grinded against her, making Cassandra pull away and let out a low moan.

“Feisty, are we?”

“It’s been too long.”

“It’s only been like three days since we last-”

“You know what I mean!” Rapunzel’s voice lowered a couple octaves when she spoke her next sentence. “I’m tired of being soft and gentle.”

“Good,” Cassandra responded, her voice also low and hot. “I am too.” With that, she resumed kissing her; passionately and hotly. Rapunzel moaned into the kiss before she started trailing her hands all over Cassandra’s body. When Cassandra tried to do the same, Rapunzel stopped her.

When Cass gave her a confused look, she said: “I wanna be the one to bring you pleasure this time.”

“Raps, you don’t have too-” Her sentence was cut short when Rapunzel walked a path up her body sexily with her fingers before the hand gently traced over her collarbone then her jaw. Each touch left Cassandra’s skin feeling like it was being zapped with bolts of pleasure.

“Do you want me to stop?” Rapunzel asked, her voice low and the hottest Cassandra had ever heard from her.

“God no.” Cassandra responded, groaning as Rapunzel gently started pushing her back towards dry land. Once they reached dry land and Cassandra was laying on her back (when the hell did she get here?) Rapunzel climbed on top of her and attacked her mouth with deep kisses that made Cassandra’s head spin. Usually, she wouldn’t enjoy being the one on bottom due to her dominating nature, but she was curious to see where this was going. She couldn’t move even if she wanted to anyway. Rapunzel’s touches were driving her crazy and were sending her to pleasure heaven. She wasn’t used to Rapunzel taking control, but she had to admit, she liked it. To an extent. Meaning that this was never happening again but while it was, she was going to savor it.

Lost in her dazed thoughts, Cassandra didn’t feel Rapunzel’s hand trailing down her body. So when it reached its destination and Rapunzel filled her with her fingers, it surprised Cass and she arched her back with a surprised moan.

“F-Fuck,” Cassandra stuttered breathlessly.

“I’ll let you get away with that just this once.”

“Mmm... says the one who cussd freely a couple of weeks ago.”

“I’m still mad at you for ‘dying’.”

Cassandra gave her a lopsided grin. “You should know by now that I’m hard to get rid of.”

Rapunzel shook her head. “If you die on me again, I will bring you back just to kill you myself.” Cassandra had to look away from her promising glare.

“Noted.”

Rapunzel shook her head then leaned down to kiss her fiance. Removing her fingers, she used both of her hands to cup Cassandra’s cheeks. Cassandra raised her hand and dug it into Rapunzel’s hair, pulling her closer. Removing her hand from her cheeks, Rapunzel trailed her hands up and down Cassandra’s body, making the older woman shiver from the warmth of Rapunzel’s hands that touched her cool skin. Rapunzel ran her hand over her abdomen, realizing that her abs were way more toned than she remembered, she pulled back. “What did you do the two weeks you disappeared? Use trees as weights?”

“Training when I could to prepare for a battle. But I think the rest of it is because of the moonstone.”

“I’m really starting to like the moonstone.”

Cassandra laughed. “It does have its advantages. For example, I don’t need to eat or sleep.”

“But I’m going to make you anyway. The last time you had the moonstone, you lost a bunch of weight, and you were incredibly pale. If I wasn’t fighting to get you back, I would’ve been seriously mad about the fact that you weren’t taking care of yourself.” Rapunzel gave her a reprimanding glare.

“I pretty much lived in the forest for months on end, it’s not like I could’ve gone to the market and bought food.”

“You forget who you’re talking to. I know you’re smarter than that. I have literally watched you hunt down animals. So try another excuse.”

“I don’t think I could’ve eaten even if I had the chance. I was too focused on... other things.”

“Wouldn’t be the first time. You used to do that a lot whenever you trained non-stop, day and night, to prepare yourself for the guard.”

Cassandra’s eyes widened slightly. “How do you know about that?”

Rapunzel giggled. “I know everything about you. Who do you think left the baskets of food in your room? If you weren’t going to take care of yourself, I was going to do it for you whether you liked it or not.”

“I always thought it was the maids or something.”

“Nope, all me. I was always watching out for you even when you didn’t want me too. Just like you always watched out for me but in different ways.”

Cassandra smiled up at her before she pulled Rapunzel down and kissed her deeply. Rapunzel smiled into the kiss and ran her hand through Cassandra’s teal hair. The passion was relit rather quickly as their soft, loving kisses turned into desperate, passion-filled kisses. Rapunzel continued her torture of running her hands sensually up and down her body; now and then even lightly scraping her nails. She ran her hand all the way down her body before she once more entered her swiftly. Cassandra let out a moan into her mouth that only urged Rapunzel on more. She slowly started pumping her hand and as the passion grew, so did her speed.

Cassandra had to pull away to throw her head back and let out a low moan; her eyes half-open. Rapunzel kissed a wet trail up Cassandra’s neck, gently sucking on her pulse, before she once more captured her lips. Cassandra, whose hands were shaking, dug her hand into Rapunzel’s short brunette hair. The more Rapunzel’s speed increased, the closer Cassandra came to a release. It suddenly snuck up on her as she pulled away from Rapunzel’s lips, threw her hand back, and let out a loud groan, her body shaking.

It took her a minute or two to catch her breath as she came back down from her high. She heard Rapunzel giggle then place a gentle kiss on her lips. Once Cass came fully back to herself, she realized Rapunzel was still above her and it was time to regain control. As quick as lightning, she flipped them around, leaving Rapunzel breathless and surprised.

“I’m still not used to that.” Rapunzel grinned up at her.

“Well, get used to it. ’Cause I’m not going anywhere anytime soon.” Rapunzel realized the statement for what it was: a promise. She smiled up at Cassandra who returned it whole-heartedly before she pushed herself up slightly, wrapped her arms around Cassandra’s neck, and pressed her lips lovingly to her fiance’s. Cassandra returned it with a smile as she tilted Rapunzel’s head back slightly so she could better kiss her.

Rapunzel let out a small moan as Cassandra’s tongue invaded her mouth. Cassandra pulled back after a while, both women panting softly. Cassandra stared down at Rapunzel with desire-filled eyes; her teal eyes seemed to be boring into her soul, making her look almost inhumane, distinct and dangerous. But in a good way. Rapunzel had never been more turned on in her entire life. It was hot, sexy and it was doing things to her.

“If you keep looking at me like that, we’re never leaving this place. Ever.”

Cassandra grinned. “Good.” She nuzzled her face into Rapunzel’s neck, making her giggle.

“Cass, we still have to find the sunstone before Gothel does.” Rapunzel chuckled.

“Man,” Cassandra groaned. “Why is it always us that have to save the world?”

“Guess we’re just good at it.” Rapunzel grinned, making Cassandra laugh.

“Or whatever gods there are like to mess with us.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised.”

“Neither would I. What do you think would’ve happened if I never snuck you out that night?”

“I would’ve gone crazy, that’s what would’ve happened.”

“Raps, you know what I mean.”

Rapunzel shrugged. “The sunstone magic would have probably found me one way or another.”

“Probably,” Cass agreed. “Guess we’ll never know.”

“What do you think would’ve happened if you didn’t take the moonstone?”

“Uh,” Cassandra hesitated, generally thinking about it. “Probably not something good. Like Adira said - I still hate her by the way - there was a high chance you weren’t gonna make it out. That’s actually one of the reasons I took the moonstone in the first place. Among other reasons...”

“Why do you still hate Adira, Cass? I know you don’t trust her, but it’s been years...”

“Because she’s the reason that our friendship got destroyed.” Rapunzel gave her a surprised look. “If she never came around, we wouldn’t have turned against each other. Or, at least, I... wouldn’t have turned against you.”

“I thought that was Zhan Tiri’s doing?”

“Partially, yes. But it was because of Adira that our friendship was so fragile in the first place.”

“You really don’t like her, huh?”

“That’s an understatement. I can’t stand her.”

Rapunzel reached up and cupped Cass’s cheek. “I hope you know that I still trusted you during those times. I know it seemed like I ignored your warnings and stopped trusting your judgment but.. I heard and took every warning to heart. But I didn’t know what else to do. We needed her to give us information and help us get to the Dark Kingdom. I didn’t trust her either.” Rapunzel looked down in guilt.

Cassandra lowered herself and placed a gentle kiss to her lips. “It’s okay Raps, it was a delicate situation. You had a lot on your shoulders. I was just too… hurt to see that at the time.”

Rapunzel shrugged. “I guess. But I still beat myself up about the way I treated you then. It shouldn’t have been a surprise when you grabbed the moonstone before I could.” Rapunzel looked away from her eye contact in immense guilt.

“Hey,” Cassandra muttered before gently directing her eyes back to hers. “We’ve both done things we regret, hun. But it’s in the past, none of it matters now.” Rapunzel was staring up at her with a surprised expression, but it was also soft and loving. “W-Why are you looking at me like that?” Cassandra asked with a blush.

“You called me ‘hun’.”

“Yeah, so?”

“I didn’t know you were one for pet names.”

“Now you know. But if you don’t-”

“No,” Rapunzel stopped her with a sweet smile, already knowing what she was gonna say. “I think it’s incredibly sweet and adorable.”

Cassandra blushed deeply and tried to hide her face in Rapunzel’s hair. “Don’t you dare tell anyone.”

“What? That you have a sweet, soft side?”

“Yes.”

“What are you gonna do if I do?” Rapunzel challenged.

“Unthinkable things.”

“Like what?”

“I don’t think you wanna find out.”

“I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t.”

“Fine,” Cassandra muttered. “Let’s just say I would rent a hotel room and you will not see the light for days because you won’t be able to walk. For days.”

Rapunzel’s eyes widened. “Aw, now I have to tell someone!”

“Raaapss..” Cassandra groaned.

Rapunzel laughed. “I’m just messing with you, Cass. I’m not gonna tell anyone. Your secrets are safe with me. Besides, I wouldn’t want anyone else to know anyway because it’s something only I should know about. But you should use them more often.” Cassandra continued hiding her face in Rapunzel’s neck. “Aw, is my big tough warrior embarrassed?” Rapunzel teased, using a babyish voice. Cassandra groaned. Rapunzel giggled and pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "I love you, Cass." Rapunzel said sweetly. "Seriously, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me. Even before we got together, when we were just friends. You're amazing, you know that?"

Cassandra always got flustered at compliments like this and this time was no exception. But although Rapunzel felt Cassandra press herself closer into her neck, she could feel the happy smile that was spreading across her fiance's face. "The feelings are mutual, Raps." Cassandra said after a couple minutes, after she got her bearings and was sure she wasn't about to start crying (because she was totally going too a couple minutes prior), and placed a small kiss under her chin.

Rapunzel smiled and wrapped her arms around the warrior and pulled her closer. The moon shone down on them and Rapunzel could swear that Cassandra was literally glowing under the moonlight. After a couple more minutes, a swift breeze came through and Rapunzel shivered.

Cassandra pulled away and looked at her in concern. "Are you cold?"

Rapunzel gave her a sweet smile and shivered again. "A bit. But I'll be okay."

Cassandra shook her head before reaching over and grabbing her cape. "Here,"

"Cass, really, I'm-"

"Shush you. I don't want you to catch another cold." With that, she draped the cape over the princess despite what she said. Rapunzel smiled, knowing that she wouldn't win (besides, the cape was incredibly warm), and pulled it more around her. Cassandra moved to lay next to her and Rapunzel immediately cuddled into her side.

"We really need to start heading back," Cassandra said but she didn't make any effort in moving.

"Mmm," Rapunzel hummed and cuddled closer, letting out a small yawn. "We're camping tonight."

"Camping?" Cassandra chuckled. "We're butt naked in the middle of the forest."

"Wouldn't be the first time." Rapunzel teased, earning a gentle laugh from Cass. "Besides, it's secluded. It's safe. And I'm not moving."

"Alright, alright." Cassandra relented then wrapped an arm around the princess, pulling her closer. "We'll stay. But only for a little bit." Rapunzel made a humming sound as she drifted off to sleep, cuddling into Cassandra's warmth. She nuzzled her face into her neck, making the warrior pull her even closer, and gently inhaled. She smiled softly with her eyes closed at Cassandra's natural scent that she loved so much. She vaguely felt Cass press a kiss to her head but she was already halfway to dreamland to be able to respond to it. Cassandra rested her head on top of Rapunzel's and as the soft sounds of Rapunzel's slowed breathing filled the forest, Cassandra slowly drifted off to sleep herself.

This took forever to write but I'm not disappointed. Hope you enjoyed! I smiled like an idiot while writing this.
