Romance Fan Fiction / Other Fan Fiction ❯ Stars Above - A Cassunzel Fanfic ❯ Chapter 22: Familiar Faces ( Chapter 22 )
“Will you stop complaining already?” Rapunzel said with an annoyed tone. “You’re acting like a child.”
“I can’t help it! I’ve been stuck in this damn bed for two weeks! I’m starting to feel lethargic!”
Rapunzel rolled her eyes. “Oh, stop being such a big baby. You only have two more weeks to go.”
Cassandra groaned and fell back on the bed. “My wound is fully healed, I can move perfectly fine on my own and I feel fine!”
Rapunzel rubbed at her temples in exasperation. Turns out, Cassandra was a terrible patient. She was driving Rapunzel up the wall. It was like dealing with a fussy child. “I’ve told you a thousand times already, Cass, your body needs time to recover the blood it’s lost or you can risk hurting yourself even more. Then you’ll be stuck in this bed even longer. So stop complaining and suck it up because you’re not leaving this bed until the doctor gives you clearance.” Rapunzel gave her a ‘don’t argue with me or you’ll be sorry’ type of glare. “Understood?”
Cassandra crossed her arms and pouted, leaning against the headboard of the bed. “Fine.” Then she snapped her eyes back towards Rapunzel. “But what if-”
“Cass!”
“Alright, alright. Jeez..”
“If this is what it’s like having children, we are never having kids.”
Cassandra shrugged. “I’m not really the motherly type anyway.”
“Oh please, you’d be a great mom.” Rapunzel gave her a smile and laid her elbows on her bed then rested her head in her hands.
“In case you haven’t noticed, I’m not really a softy-touchy feely type.”
Rapunzel shook her head with a smile. “You don’t need to be. That’s my job. You’d teach them how to be strong and fight.”
Cassandra blushed deeply and looked away. “W-Well, if it does happen, it’s not gonna for a long time.” Rapunzel rolled her eyes at Cassandra’s quick change of subject. Damn girl can still never take a compliment without getting all flustered. It didn’t matter to Rapunzel though, she was adorable when she was flustered.
It was then that the two of them heard commotion coming from outside. They shared a worried glance but before Rapunzel could get up and investigate, the door swung open and Rick came barreling inside before slamming it shut.
“Looks like you’re being released early, Cassandra.” He said quickly.
Cass’s earlier complaints were gone as she and Rapunzel shared a worried glance. “Why? What’s wrong?” Rapunzel asked.
“Corona’s here.”
Both women’s eyes widened as Cass shot up to a sitting position and Rapunzel shot to her feet. “What?!” They said in unison.
“What do you mean Corona’s here??” Cassandra asked.
“The Coronan guard. They’ve come to take Rapunzel home.”
“How did they find us?” Rapunzel whispered to Cassandra.
“I don’t know, but I’m not waiting to find out. We need to leave. Now.” Cassandra got to her feet but she must’ve gotten up too fast because suddenly she felt very light-headed and dizzy and would have fallen back if Rapunzel hadn’t caught her.
“You’re not ready to travel yet!” Rapunzel exclaimed in a worry-filled manner.
Cassandra held onto Rapunzel’s arms for support as Rapunzel kept her upright. “We don’t really have a choice, Raps.” Rapunzel wanted to protest, but then realized she couldn’t because Cass was right.
“Here,” Rick suddenly said, handing Rapunzel a good-sized bag. “It’s filled with food, some clothes and other much-needed supplies. It should last you a couple of months. It also carries some of the strongest medication I can find to help Cassandra recover much faster. Just don’t take it all at once or it can be detrimental. And make sure she doesn’t overwork herself. Rest is a necessity.”
Rapunzel stared at the bag in awe before looking back up at Rick. “T-This is too kind.. thank you.”
Rick smiled and nodded then he pulled some kind of lever that opened a small path. “Take this path, it’ll lead you into the forest. They won’t be able to find you. Follow the river if you get lost.”
Cassandra had an arm around Rapunzel’s shoulders to make sure she wouldn’t fall as they walked into the small path and Rapunzel nodded before turning and giving Rick one of her best smiles. “Thank you for everything you’ve done for us. When I can, I’ll send you p-”
Rick held up a hand to stop her. “No need. It was my pleasure. Now go,” Rick smiled. “And be safe girls.” Cassandra gave a nod of thanks and Rapunzel gave him another appreciative smile before they turned and took off as the door closed behind them.
Once Cassandra and Rapunzel reached the outside world, they were both panting. Cassandra leaned against a tree and let out a tired breath. Immediately, Rapunzel went up to her and started searching her up and down for any kind of injury. “Are you okay, Cass? How are you feeling?”
Cassandra chuckled and directed Rapunzel’s eyes back to hers. “I’m fine, Raps.” Rapunzel gave her a suspicious look so Cass added: “Just a little dizzy but most of it has passed anyway.”
Rapunzel seemed to take that as an answer as she slowly nodded before she said seriously, “Tell me if anything changes. Okay?”
Cassandra shook her head with a smile. “Okay.” Rapunzel gave her one of her sweeter smiles and brushed Cass’s hair from her eyes.
“Is that what you girls call an ‘escape’? I’m disappointed, I thought I taught you better than that.” Both women spun around as Cass instinctively placed a protective arm in front of Rapunzel. But who they saw they were most certainly not expecting.
Eugene was leaning against a tree, his arms crossed, with a smirk on his face. Rapunzel’s face broke out into a huge smile. “Eugene?!” She rushed forward and tackled him into a bear hug. Eugene laughed and wrapped his arms around the princess as Cassandra just stayed back in slight awe and surprise. Rapunzel pulled back and stepped back a little, smiling.“What are you doing here?!”
“Well, a certain princess just suddenly disappeared and it’s sorta a big deal sooo...” Eugene teased, making Rapunzel giggle. With the way he was teasing about it, Rapunzel knew that he wasn’t there to bring her back. Eugene peered around Rapunzel to look at the awkwardly standing Cass. He looked her up and down before meeting her eyes, his eyes full of amusement. “Nice to see you again, ice-queen. I like the new look. Very striking and mysterious.”
Cassandra rolled her eyes but couldn’t help but let out a small grin as she made her way to stand by Rapunzel’s side. “Haha, very funny.” Cassandra suddenly smirked and placed her hands on her hips. “Can’t say the same about you, though. Is that gray hairs I see?”
Eugene playfully rolled his eyes. “Looks like ice-queen hasn’t changed much.”
“Never gonna.”
Rapunzel shook her head with a smile as a wave of nostalgia hit her. “So, the kingdoms really freaking out about me being gone, huh?”
Eugene groaned. “You have no idea. Your father is driving everyone crazy.”
“I’m not surprised,” Rapunzel replied sarcastically. “Sounds like him.”
“Yeah, but I’m not really thrilled with being wanted for kidnapping and treason though.” Cassandra tuned in, a tint of annoyance to her voice.
Eugene actually turned to her and gave her a sympathetic look. It surprised her. “I hope you know, it’s just the king who sees it that way. The rest of us know better. But he refuses to listen to reason. I think he blames himself, but is in denial about it so he’s putting the blame on someone else cause it’s easier.”
“See? I told you!” Rapunzel elbowed her in the side causing Cass to give her a half-attempted, fake glare. But they both could see the relief in her eyes.
It was then that Eugene noticed something shining in the sunlight. They were whispering words to each other at the moment, but he could clearly see the rings that were on each of their fingers. Eugene’s face suddenly turned into a mischievous, teasing grin; but there was happiness for his best friends in there too. “Oh, I see,” Eugene said, making the both of them turn their attention back to them.
“See what?” Rapunzel asked in confusion.
“That you two finally hit it off!” Eugene grinned. Both Rapunzel and Cassandra blushed deeply. “It’s about damn time, too.” Eugene turned to Cassandra with a mischievous smile. “After you left, she never shut up about you. And after we broke up - phew - you were literally in every single conversation.”
Rapunzel blushed deeply. “Shush, Eugene!”
“Is that right?” Cassandra asked, giving Rapunzel a smirk with one eyebrow raised.
“Oh yes,” Eugene responded, ignoring Rapunzel’s flustered glare. “Like all the time. I would sit in her room for hours as she raved on and on about you. ‘Cass this’, ‘Cass that’. It was constant. And then there were the personal conversations about-”
“Alright, nope, that’s enough!” Rapunzel interrupted, placing her hand over Eugene’s mouth. Her face was as red as a tomato. “He’s joking,” Rapunzel said before she suddenly gave Eugene a death glare that told him to ‘shut the hell up before I break all your limbs and throw you in a ditch then leave you there to die’ and said much harsher: “He’s joking.”
Eugene moved from out of her grasp before winking at Cass and whispering behind his hand: “I’m not joking.”
“Eugene!” Rapunzel exclaimed as she shoved him, her face red, making the older man laugh.
“Pfft, I believe it. Kinda curious about what those personal conversations were about though.” Cassandra responded as she wrapped one arm around Rapunzel’s shoulders, pulled her into her, then gave the younger girl a knowing smirk. Rapunzel looked away and hid her face.
Eugene was about to respond with some snarky remark when they heard shouting not too far off. The embarrassment from earlier was gone for the time being as a worried, panicked expression filled both of their faces. Eugene turned his head back towards them. “Don’t worry, I’ll lead them off your trail.” He winked. “You two should go.”
Cassandra gave him a nod before she stopped and gave him a serious look. “I don’t have very much time to explain but.. Gothel’s alive.” Eugene gave her a startled expression. “And she has a magical item called the blackstone. It’s purely evil and dangerous. Like seriously dangerous. It’s more powerful than the moonstone and sunstone combined. Raps and I are trying to find a way to retrieve the sunstone and hopefully put an end to whatever she’s planning. But... stay on guard.”
“I swear, you two are evil sorcerer magic magnets.” Eugene shook his head with an amused smile. “I’ll keep an eye out. Thanks for the heads up.” Eugene then suddenly pulled them both into a hug. Cassandra was tense and slightly uncomfortable but Rapunzel relaxed into it. Cassandra was able to relax into it after a couple seconds as she leaned into the older man. “Be safe you two and don’t do anything stupid.”
Rapunzel pulled and smiled. “We will. And we won’t.” She paused. “...hopefully.” She smiled back at him. “Thanks Eugene.”
Eugene nodded with a smile. “Come and visit sometime. You know, when all this passes.”
“We will.” Cassandra responded, surprising both Rapunzel and Eugene. The shouting was getting nearer. Cassandra gave him a nod as Rapunzel smiled and they both took off again. Eugene watched them go with a thoughtful smile before turning to his men who just arrived.
“Captain!” One of the guards said. “We found a hidden passage, they must have-”
Eugene shook his head. “They’re not here. It was just a hatchet so the nurses could get through for herbs. That man lied to us. It’s time to head home.”
“But sir-”
“Now!” Eugene gave him a glare that said ‘don’t argue with me and do as I say or you’ll be sorry’.
The guard tensed and bowed. “Yes sir.” With that, they turned back towards the direction they came.
Again, Rapunzel and Cassandra were left breathless and panting. It was near dark and they had probably half-ran a good mile or two so they were safe from the guards. Besides, Rapunzel wouldn’t let them travel any farther anyway because she had suddenly decided that Cass had worked herself too much. After they made a fire, Rapunzel had asked Cass nearly a hundred worried questions.
Cassandra groaned as she leaned more against a tree. “Rapunzel, I told you, I’m fine.”
“Are you sure? Because-”
Cassandra gave her an annoyed glare. Rapunzel sighed in defeat and plopped down next to her with a pout. Cassandra, although still annoyed but appreciative for her wifes worry for her, rolled her eyes and pulled the princess into her lap then wrapped her arms around her stomach, pulling her back against her. Rapunzel cuddled into her warmth as they watched the fire crackle.
It wasn’t long before Rapunzel realized Cassandra’s hands were venturing lower. Rapunzel stopped her route by bringing her hands back up to her stomach and locking them in place. “Cass, you need to rest. You’ve already overworked yourself enough.”
Cassandra groaned. “Come on, Raps! It’s been almost three weeks since the last time we did anything! I’m gonna go insane if we don’t do anything soon!”
“You’re still healing, Cass. You weren’t even supposed to be released yet.”
“Come on, Raps,” Cassandra’s voice lowered as she escaped Rapunzel’s strong grip and continued venturing lower. Cassandra placed a loving kiss on her shoulder before whispering hotly in her ear. “I know you want me as much as I want you.”
Rapunzel groaned, leaning her head back, her resolve already starting to break. “It’s not a matter if I want you or not, Cass, because I always want you but-” She was cut off due to the fact Cassandra’s hand disappeared under her dress. Rapunzel tensed.
“I feel fine, Raps. Please? I promise I’ll stop if I start feeling otherwise.” Cassandra rubbed.
Rapunzel groaned. “T-That’s not fair, Cass. You’re messing with my thoughts.”
“That’s kinda the point.” Cassandra rubbed harder, making Rapunzel let out a small moan. Cassandra kissed the side of her face then whispered in her ear: “Come on Raps, you know you want too. I’ll make it worth your while~”
Any resolve she had left broke as she let out an annoyed huff then turned around in her wifes lap. She then sat on her knees as she placed her hands on Cassandra’s shoulders. “Fine. But if you feel sick, or dizzy, or anything, you tell me. And we stop. Deal?”
Cassandra chuckled. “Deal.” Talking went out the window as she crashed her lips to Rapunzel’s, moaning slightly at finally feeling Rapunzel’s lips on hers after two weeks. Rapunzel wrapped her arms around Cassandra’s neck and pressed herself closer. Cassandra groaned when Rapunzel deepened the kiss as she placed her hands firmly on her hips then flipped them so that Rapunzel was laying on her back and Cassandra was above her, kissing her like her life depended on it.
Rapunzel pulled back, breathless and panting as she looked up at her with a grin. “Miss me much?”
Cassandra groaned. “You have no idea. Being bedridden sucks.”
Rapunzel giggled. “Then stop getting hurt.”
“Oh yes, like I do it on purpose.” Cassandra rolled her eyes sarcastically, making Rapunzel let out another giggle.
“I don’t know, Cass, I think you’re starting to like the attention.” Rapunzel teased, poking Cass in the stomach.
“Oh yes, because it’s a fetish I have.” Cassandra responded sarcastically again then chuckled. “You give me enough attention either way. You’re always all over me. Not that I’m complaining.”
Rapunzel crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow before looking her up and down. “Who’s all over who now? Miss ’I’m so impatient and refuse to wait even if I’m still supposed to be healing after nearly dying’.”
“That’s gonna be a long name to put down on papers.” Cassandra grinned. Rapunzel rolled her eyes at her joke. “Oh, by the way, remember when I said I won’t be bedridden forever and you said you had a month to prepare?” Cassandra smirked then thrusted against her, making Rapunzel let out a surprised moan. “Hope you prepared.”
Rapunzel gave her a half-attempted glare, her eyes half closed, or rather, half open, in desire. “Don’t overwork yourself.”
“Oh, baby, I’m good to go. I spent two weeks in bed, I have all the energy and stamina in the world.”
“Still, be careful.”
“Yeah, not happening, ‘careful’ is already out the window.” Rapunzel tried to protest but Cassandra thrusted into her again, smirking at the way she threw her head back and let out a low moan. “By the way, what were those conversations Eugene was talking about, hm?” Cassandra’s smirk widened at the way Rapunzel’s face exploded into color.
“T-They were nothing,” Rapunzel stuttered. “....just… conversations. That’s all. Yep. That’s it.”
“Uh-huh. Then why are you all red? And stuttering? And rambling?”
Instead of stuttering more, Rapunzel fought back as her eyes darkened. “What can I say? Your blazing hot body gets me all hot. I’m staring up at a goddess, afterall.” Rapunzel ran her hands down Cass’s body slowly and sensually to prove her point. She couldn’t help but let out a triumphant smirk as Cassandra’s face turned beet red. Cass wasn’t expecting her to flirt back. She was so surprised that it caught her off guard. Rapunzel usually never flirted back and Cass always had the upper hand; making Rapunzel be the one that turned into a spluttering, flustered mess. Apparently, that wasn’t the case this time.
Cassandra cleared her throat. “I see that you’ve been upping your game, huh?” Cassandra’s smirk then returned full-force as she leaned forward to whisper into her ear. “That only means I’m gonna hit back even harder Ra-pun-zel.” Rapunzel couldn’t stop the involuntary shiver that ran up her spine at the way Cassandra said her name.
“I love it when you do that.” Rapunzel resorted back.
Cassandra pulled back, a forever smirk on her face. “I know, that’s why I do it.” Cassandra slowly drifted her hand up Rapunzel’s leg then rested it between her legs. She was more than soaked. She took notice of the way Rapunzel’s breath caught as Cassandra leaned forward, her lips barely an inch away from Rapunzel’s as she whispered: “Guess I’m not the only one who missed this, hm? Don’t think I didn’t notice the longing looks and secret touching when you thought I was asleep.”
Rapunzel blushed deeply at being caught. “Okay, maybe I missed this a little.”
“A little?” Cassandra raised an eyebrow as she rubbed her hand against her, making Rapunzel moan. “I think it was more than a ‘little’.”
“Okay, maybe a lot.” Rapunzel admitted, her eyes half-open.
Cassandra smirked. “Thought so, Miss. ‘innocent’.”
“That still stays between us.”
“If you get flustered the way you do whenever I ask you about your little ‘conversations’, I’m pretty sure Eugene is aware of your lack of innocence.”
A dark blush filled Rapunzel’s cheeks. “C-Cass!”
Cassandra snickered. “Have a lot of fantasies, hm?”
“N-No!”
Cassandra grinned. “I know I do,” Cassandra spread Rapunzel’s legs and positioned herself between them as she leaned forward, her lips brushing against Rapunzel’s as she whispered: “...Years and years of them.”
“Yeah?”
“Mhm~. When I was your lady-in-waiting, it took everything I had not to let my hands wander when I used to help you get into those damn tight dresses.”
“I wouldn’t have been disappointed if you did.”
Cassandra rolled her eyes. “Oh please, I’d end up having to give you a sex-ed lesson.”
Rapunzel grinned. “In what way?”
Cassandra stared at her for a second, blinking in surprise at her incredibly dirty joke before she groaned and shook her head. “Dear god, I’ve tainted you.”
Rapunzel laughed before her eyes darkened and her voice dropped an octave as she ran her hands greedily over Cassandra’s muscular arms. “Who said I wasn’t always like this?”
Cassandra let out an involuntary shiver. “You were a saint, Raps.”
“Maybe that’s what I wanted you to believe.”
Cassandra shook her head with a smile. “Yeah, no, I tested that theory years ago to see if you were as innocent as you seemed.”
Rapunzel gave her a confused, startled expression. “When??”
“The fact that you don’t remember proves my point.”
“When was this??”
Cassandra chuckled. “Do you remember that one week where I was more touchy-feely than normal? And I kept making not-so-subtle comments and looks?”
Rapunzel seemed to go deep in thought for a second before realization crossed her eyes and they widened with a deep blush. “No way!”
“Yep,” Cassandra grinned. “You had no idea. You were clueless.”
“How did I not see it? It was so obvious!”
“Exactly. Innocent as a saint.”
“Wait a second,” Rapunzel looked up and fixed Cassandra with an accusatory, slightly heated, look. “That wasn’t the first time, either, was it?”
Rapunzel’s theory was proven when Cassandra looked away with a dark blush. “Uh,” She responded. “No? That was the.. uh.. only time. Yeah, the only time.”
“Liar,” Rapunzel responded. “I remember them all now.” Her eyes softened. “You really did show me that you had deeper feelings for me... more than once over the years. It was so obvious and yet, I didn’t see it. Was I seriously the only one who didn’t?”
Cassandra chuckled. “Yeah, yeah you were. Even Fitzherbet saw it.”
“I really was naive and oblivious.”
“Well, I was crude and uncivil, so,”
“Was?” Rapunzel teased with a grin. Cassandra huffed and poked her in the side, making Rapunzel laugh. “I’m kidding. You’ve gotten better.” She gave her a mischievous grin. “...at being presumptuous.”
“You little-!” Cassandra huffed again then poked her in the side again, tickling her on purpose, making Rapunzel laugh.
Rapunzel then smiled sweetly and raised her hand to place it on Cass’s cheek. “I’m kidding. You were never either - I always thought you were incredibly sweet and considerate.”
Cassandra blushed. “Yeah, to you.”
“Exactly! Anyone who got your ‘uncivil’ side probably deserved it.”
“So, you’re saying Eugene deserved it?” Cassandra raised an eyebrow.
Rapunzel grinned. “Probably. He was annoying a lot of the time.”
“So you admit it!”
“I admit to nothing.”
Cassandra rolled her eyes. She then leaned down and nuzzled her then placed a sweet, chaste kiss on her lips before saying genuinely: “I love you.”
Rapunzel gave her a sweet smile and nuzzled her nose with her own. “I love you too.”
Cassandra suddenly took a shaky breath. “I just can’t believe we.. are married now. It’s just... I never thought that I would..” Cass looked away with a pained expression.
Rapunzel eyes softened as she grasped both of her cheeks and directed her attention back to her. She leaned forward and gave her a loving kiss then pulled back, but only slightly, their lips still barely an inch apart. “Don’t focus on the past, my moon, it’s in the past for a reason. What matters is what’s happening right now. And right now, we are going to have a good time, if you know what I mean,” She winked. “Then we are going to cuddle and go to sleep.”
Cassandra chuckled but she couldn’t help but let out a genuine smile as she placed a lasting kiss on the princess’s forehead. “I don’t know what I did to deserve you in my life, but I’m pretty damn lucky.”
Rapunzel giggled and nuzzled her. “I’m the lucky one.”
“I beg to differ.”
Rapunzel rolled her eyes. “We can either fight a battle neither of us will back down from or we can have some pretty awesome sex. Your choice.”
Cassandra laughed. “Alright, alright.” With that, she pulled Rapunzel into her for a deep, passionate kiss. Rapunzel tilted her head slightly and groaned as Cassandra pushed her tongue into her mouth. Rapunzel did the same as their tongues battled for dominance. Cassandra won, of course. As the passion started to rapidly grow once more, Cass pulled Rapunzel’s dress over her head. Their kisses became quick, harsh and sexy as Rapunzel desperately tried to pull Cass’s clothes off. Cassandra helped her and soon, the both of them were left in nothing but their bras and underwear. Or rather, for Cass, her bra, underwear, and the moonstone.
Cassandra greedily ran her hands up and down Rapunzel’s body and Rapunzel did the same. She tried to go into other places, but Cass stopped her and pinned her hands above her head. “Nu-huh. You’ve been teasing me for like two weeks. And don’t say you weren’t, because I know for a fact you were doing it on purpose because you knew I couldn’t do anything to you.” Rapunzel blushed and looked away at being caught. Cassandra smirked. “That’s what I thought. Now,” Cassandra leaned forward, blew in her ear softly, then spoke: “I can finally do something. I have two weeks of pent up desire and now I’m gonna do to you what I’ve been wanting to do for way too long.” Rapunzel shivered as Cass traced her ear with her tongue.
“Then do it already.” Rapunzel whispered. Cassandra smirked and grabbed their little magic worker out of her bag. She had it hooked it up in a matter of seconds then entered Rapunzel with a quick, fast thrust. Taken off guard because she did it so damn fast that Rapunzel wasn’t even able to register it, Rapunzel’s eyes widened and she threw her head back with a moan. “A-Ah!” Cassandra started slowly snapping her hips forward then back out again as Rapunzel’s moans grew.
“C-Cass-” She stuttered as Cass’s thrusts became harder and faster.
“Yeah, that’s it. That’s my girl. Say my name.” Rapunzel let out another deep moan as Cass hit in all the right places.
“C-Cas- I-I’m..- mmm.. I-...”
Cassandra groaned. “Me too, Raps.” After not being touched for a couple weeks, both were sensitive so it caused them a fast, but still ever so amazing, release for a couple more thrusts and both women fell into sweet, sweet euphoria. After a minute or two of them trying to catch their breaths, Cassandra pulled out, making both groan at the loss of contact, then took off the toy and flopped next to Rapunzel, still panting softly.
After Rapunzel was able to regain some sense of where she was, she turned on her side to face Cassandra. Smiling, she wiped her wet bangs from out of her face then placed her hand on her cheek, rubbing lovingly. “I love you, Cassandra.”
Cassandra smiled back at her and leaned into her touch. “I love you too, Rapunzel.” Rapunzel smiled and cuddled into her wife, placing a small kiss under her chin as she nuzzled herself in the crook of her neck. Cassandra wrapped her arms around her and pulled her closer, placing a loving kiss on the top of her head. The rhythm of Cassandra’s heartbeat and her warmth put Rapunzel into a peaceful slumber. Cass smiled lovingly and nuzzled herself closer and with a final kiss to her head, she fell soundly asleep with the princess in her arms.
