Romance Fan Fiction ❯ Enemy of the Stars (A Stars Above Sequel) ❯ Chapter 3: Night-Out ( Chapter 3 )
Rapunzel stood in an open space cloaked in shadows. “Hello?” She asked but no one responded. She tried to take a step forward but realized she couldn’t move. “Wha-”
“Rapunzel!” She heard a shout.
“Cass?” The young woman looked around but she couldn’t see her. Not until the room around her started to change. One moment she was surrounded by darkness, the next she was in some field. But she still couldn’t move. She was about to call out again when Cassandra, who was bleeding profusely, appeared only a couple of feet in front of her. “Cassandra?” She asked, immediate worry taking over her. “W-What.. What happened??”
Cassandra’s face morphed into what she could only describe as betrayal. “What happened?” She repeated, her voice dripping with poison. “You happened!”
“W-What? Cass, what’s going on?”
Cassandra’s expression turned into a poisonous grimace that made Rapunzel wince. “You…” The young warrior started, her voice full of such anger and resentment that it made Rapunzel want to shrink. If she could, she would have. “...you killed everyone.” Cassandra seethed.
“W-What? Cassandra, I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
“I trusted you!” The words echoed throughout her mind as the scene before her turned to red. For a minute, all she could see was red then the scene around her once more became clear. This time, Cassandra wasn’t there. Rapunzel gasped in horror at seeing the hundreds of dead bodies covering the ground, the grass covered in so much blood you could barely tell the greenness it once held. Her eyes were wide in terror at realizing that the bodies before her were her friends and the people of Corona.
“You…” She heard a weak voice. She turned her attention to the sound of the voice and she let out a horrified gasp due to Cassandra, who was standing directly in front of her, bloodied from head-to-toe.
“C-Cass?”
“You…” The warrior repeated as she took a step forward only to fall to one knee, her voice weak and breathless and her body shaking in pain. “...H-How could you?”
“W-What are you-” Rapunzel’s eyes widened upon seeing the withered arm Cassandra held close to her chest. Not the one that was injured before but the other one. But that wasn’t possible… That’s when she felt it. Well, more so saw it. Her hair was flowing all around her in its 70 feet form. But it wasn’t blonde. It was black. All of a sudden, visions started playing before her. Her friends, the people, falling victim to her wrath. Her body moved without her consent as she watched very graphically how she brutally murdered everyone close to her. And then some.
“No!” She thought, not able to speak anymore. “No, stop! I don’t want to see anymore!” She squeezed her eyes shut.
But then it got to Cassandra. Cassandra was sitting on her knees before her, her arm withered and her body covered in blood. She was wrapped in her hair. The young warrior looked up at her with the most pained, horrific, betrayal-filled expression she had ever seen. Rapunzel knew that the expression was gonna be painted into her mind for a long time. But then her body started moving without her consent again. She raised her arm to the warrior and she could feel the power surging through her. “Wither and decay,” Rapunzel heard herself say, her voice cold and emotionless. Her eyes widened. Cassandra only watched in silence, knowing there was nothing she could do. But she never closed her eyes. She held Rapunzel’s eye contact, her eyes screaming ‘why? Why are you doing this?’ as Rapunzel opened up her palm and pointed it directly at Cassandra. “...End this destiny..” She spoke, her voice level as Rapunzel’s hair glowed. It glowed a greenish color until it started to slowly trail to Cassandra. “No..” Rapunzel thought to herself. “...Break these earthly chains.” She watched in horror as the hair wrapped around Cassandra started to glow brightly. Cassandra groaned as the power of the decay incantation slowly started to kill her. “N-No, no, stop, please..” But her body didn’t listen to her. “...And set the spirit free.” At the very last moment, Cassandra squeezed her eyes shut as tears escaped from her eyes and streamed down her face. Rapunzel raised her palm as the feeling of the decay incantation flowed through her body, she summoned up the power, pointed it at Cassandra, and…
“...Set the spirit free…”
“NO!”
She woke up with a start, shooting up as she breathed roughly. The motion woke up Cassandra and she immediately sprung up. “Woah! Raps, come on, breathe.” The warrior instructed while rubbing the distressed girls back. Eventually, Rapunzel was able to catch her breath but she was still visibly shaken up, her form slightly trembling. “What was that all about? Another nightmare?” Rapunzel could only nod. “...Do you want to talk about it?”
Cassandra’s bloodied form and betray-filled face filled her mind and she shook her head. “N-No,” She stuttered. She took another deep breath and tried again. “N-No, I’m fine, it’s fine…”
Cassandra wasn’t buying it. “Are you sure? You don’t look fine.”
“I’m fine, Cass.” Rapunzel winced at the quick hurt that passed over her lover's face. She didn’t mean to snap at her… Groaning, she ran her hands down her face and through her hair then fell back onto the pillow. “...Sorry…”
Cassandra forced a smile and laid back as well so she could lay next to her. “Don’t worry about it,” She tried to give her a small smile to cheer her up but it didn’t do no good. Rapunzel returned the brief smile in appreciation before it dropped and she looked away. Cassandra’s fell almost immediately after. “That bad, huh?”
Rapunzel nodded. “It was… horrible.”
“So I’m guessing you aren’t gonna fall back asleep anytime soon, are you?”
For the second time, dream Cassandra’s features appeared in her mind. She winced which didn’t go unnoticed by Cassandra. “I don’t think I could even if I wanted to…”
“Then I’ll stay up with you.”
Rapunzel couldn’t help but smile at her wife’s dedication. “That’s sweet, Cass, but you don’t have to do that.”
“Too bad.” The warrior stated. “I’ve already made up my mind.” Cassandra then grinned playfully and gently elbowed her in the side. “Unless you’re trying to get rid of me.”
Cassandra’s grin widened when Rapunzel let out a small laugh. “Never. But don’t come crying to me when you’re tired tomorrow.”
“Good thing we’re not doing anything tomorrow then.” Rapunzel gave her a confused look.
Cassandra fixed her with a reprimanding glare. “You need proper rest for once, whether it be awake or not, so we’re staying here.”
“What? But I have-”
“Don’t care.”
“Cass-”
“Nope.”
“Cassandra…!”
“Don’t you ‘Cassandra’ me.” She responded and glared. “You know we’re gonna need to leave within the next couple of days and you need to be properly rested. You know how dangerous it is out there, especially when you’re not on full alert.”
“That gives me even more reason to not stay in this room! There’s still so much I need to get done and take care of before we leave!”
“You’re already cleared for the next couple of days. And I already talked to your parents and they agree.”
Rapunzel glared at her. “You went behind my back again? What else are you doing behind my back?” Her voice was dripping with bitterness.
“Come on Raps, don’t be like that,” Cassandra said sincerely. Rapunzel only looked away. “If I have to go behind your back to make sure you’re healthy and safe, then so be it. Besides, it wasn’t like you were contentious for me to talk to you anyway..”
“You know how I feel about that Cass. How can I trust you if you keep going behind my back and lying to me?
“And you know that I wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t for an important cause. If you’re too stubborn and careless to watch out for your own health, then I’m gonna do it for you. It’s my job as your lover and best friend to watch out for you when you forget or refuse to do it yourself.”
“I can take care of myself, Cass.” Rapunzel resorted.
“Usually,” Cassandra agreed. “But with everything that I learned this week and the fact that you haven’t been taken care of yourself, I don’t trust you right now.”
“I don’t need you to take care of me.”
Cassandra held her ground. She wasn’t giving this one up. “As of right now, you do. So I’m gonna make sure you’re safe and healthy and I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure it stays that way whether you like it or not.” How can someone be so damn aggravating but so damn sweet at the same time? Rapunzel couldn’t even argue back with that last statement because it was so damn sweet.
And Cassandra knew this. She worded it that way for a reason. “You’re making it really hard to be mad at you.”
“That’s kinda the point.”
“I hate you.”
Cassandra snorted. “The hell you do. That’s a lie and you know it.”
“Hm, do I know that?” She replied sarcastically.
Cassandra chuckled. Two can play at that game. She placed her hand on Rapunzel’s thigh and slowly started to trail it up. She tensed. “I don’t know Rapunzel, do you know that?”
Rapunzel huffed and pushed her hand away. “I’m still mad at you.”
“I thought you said you weren’t?”
“I’ve changed my mind.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yep.”
“Well, since you’re mad, I guess that means I have to do…” A slow smirk spread across her face. Rapunzel knew what she was planning and tried to get away but it was already too late. “...this!” Cassandra grabbed her, pulled her into her body and started to nuzzle and kiss her, tickling her in the process as she nuzzled her face into her neck.
Eventually, Rapunzel couldn’t help but giggle as she tried to push her wife away. “Cass, stop it!”
“Not until you admit that you love me!” When Rapunzel stubbornly refused, Cassandra pressed a bunch of kisses to the side of her neck and the side of her face, once more tickling her.
Rapunzel eventually couldn’t hold in her giggles anymore. “Okay, okay, fine! I love you. Jeez, you happy now?”
Cassandra stopped almost immediately but she didn’t let go of her as she gave her a content smile. “Yep.”
Rapunzel rolled her eyes but the smile on her face hadn’t disappeared. “...Weirdo.”
“Oh, you’re calling me weird? I wasn’t the one born with magical powers nor did I grow 70 feet of magical hair.”
Rapunzel shrugged. “Touche.” Her brain didn’t allow her to stay happy though as Cassandra’s bloodied, hurt form filled her mind once more. Her smile dropped and she looked away.
Cassandra noticed the change immediately as her heart broke at the pained look on her lover's face. Trying to think of anything to cheer her up, an idea suddenly popped into her head. “Hey, how about we get out? Just you and me. Like old times.”
Rapunzel turned and gave her a confused look. “It’s like high hours in the morning.”
“And? We can go to the Lost Lagoon. It’s been ages since we have last been there.”
“I don’t know, Cass..”
“Come on Raps, a little fresh air might make you feel better. You’ve been cooped up in here for days.”
“What about Nova? We can’t just leave her here.”
“Nova is with her ‘Uncle Eugene’.” Cassandra responded with a roll of her eyes. “He’s been taken care of her for the time being so I could focus on you.” Rapunzel still looked unsure. “Come on Raps, please? It’s been such a long time since we’ve had time just for ourselves.”
Rapunzel made the mistake of meeting her pleading eyes. She eventually sighed and nodded. “Fine,”
“So, yes?”
Rapunzel couldn’t help but smile at the unmaskable excitement in her voice. “Yes.”
Cassandra immediately sprang up, again making the princess giggle as Rapunzel propped herself on her elbows. “Alright then! Then it’s settled.”
Looking her up and down, Rapunzel smiled. “As much as I would love to keep staring at your body all night and day, I think you should probably put on some clothes.”
Cassandra looked back at her and smirked. “Where’s the fun in that?”
Rapunzel rolled her eyes and threw some of her clothes at her face, making the warrior laugh. “Just put on the clothes you weirdo.” As Cassandra quickly put on her clothes, Rapunzel stood up and did the same. Cassandra couldn’t help but grin when she had to catch Rapunzel from falling back on the bed. Rapunzel glared and elbowed her, again making the warrior laugh.
“Hey, I tried to tell you. You dug your own grave.”
“...This sucks.”
“That’s not what you said a couple of hours ago.” Cassandra couldn’t help but snicker as a blush covered the princess’s face.
Rapunzel rolled her eyes, a deep blush still covering her face. “L-let's just go.”
Cassandra chuckled. “Right.”
---------------------------------------------------------------
As Cassandra and Rapunzel, hand-in-hand, walked the familiar path to their favorite place, Rapunzel leaned against the warrior, her head leaning on her shoulder. Cassandra smiled. “So, I assume you’re not mad at me anymore?”
“Oh, I’m still mad at you.” Rapunzel stated simply. “Again, you went behind my back. Twice. And who knows how many other times.”
“Just the two times…”
“And that makes it better?”
“Look, Raps, I’m sorry, I really am. But you’ve been worrying everyone, especially me. I’m scared you’re gonna end up seriously harming your health.”
Rapunzel sighed. “I get that, I do. And I’m sorry I’ve been worrying you. But next time, please talk to me. I don’t want to start second-guessing my trust in you.”
“Only if you promise you’ll actually listen. You know I would never go behind your back unless I really, really needed to. And at that point, it was necessary. You have a tendency to not listen. Especially to me.”
“Fine,” Rapunzel responded. “I promise.”
“Good. Then I promise I won’t go behind your back again. But you really need to rest and stop working. Lack of sleep also affects mental health and the brain, so,”
Rapunzel tilted her head and gave her a teasing smile. “What? Are you my therapist now?”
“If you need me to be one, then so be it.”
Rapunzel shook her head with a smile. “How do you even know that?”
Cassandra shrugged. “I read some books when I was bored.”
“When?”
“Uh… a couple of days ago?”
“‘Bored’ my ass,” Rapunzel teased, surprising Cassandra with her language. “You read them because you suck at emotions and you’re the more logical type so you need to read about it to understand them better.”
“Alas,” Cassandra teased back. “You know me too well.”
“Of course, I d- Woah.” Rapunzel stopped in her tracks, her mouth falling open in amazed bewilderment. Cassandra followed her gaze and her eyes widened. The Lost Lagoon was more beautiful than ever. The moon shun off the water and lit up the whole area but what stopped them in their tracks was the many blue and gold flowers covering the area. It was breathtaking. Both women walked forward, eyes widened in disbelief. “How…”
“I guess the lagoon is more connected to us than we thought,” Cassandra responded.
“It’s… beautiful. I didn’t think it was possible to get any more breathtaking than it already was…”
Cassandra couldn’t help but smile at her amazed expression. She stopped and moved in front of her and with a gentleman-like smile, she held out her hand. “Care to join me in the water, m’lady?”
Rapunzel giggled and took her hand. “Always.”
----------------------------------------------------------
20 minutes later, both women stood in the water, just basking under the moonlight. Rapunzel had her arms around the warrior’s neck and Cassandra had her hands placed on her hips. The moon shung on both of their bodies, making their pale skin and mix colored eyes glow. As the water rocked them back and forth, Rapunzel laid her head against Cassandra’s chest and let out a content sigh. Cassandra smiled and pulled her closer. The silence filled the air as Cassandra hummed Rapunzel’s favorite melody and rocked them back and forth. Rapunzel had her eyes closed as she just basked in the moment. Finally, after nearly 15 minutes of comfortable silence, Rapunzel finally pulled back, smiled, and placed her hand on Cass’s cheek.
“Thanks for convincing me to come out here, Cass, really, it means a lot.”
Cassandra smiled down at her. “I told you that it would help.”
“Yeah,” Rapunzel nodded. “It really did.” She paused. “Actually… thank you for everything you’ve been doing for me these last couple of weeks. I know I haven’t been… the nicest to you lately but you’ve been nothing but a sweetheart. I mean it, it means the world to me. Even if I don’t say it often, or if I fight you on it, I appreciate everything you do for me.”
A deep blush covered Cassandra’s face. Rapunzel had to hold back a giggle. The warrior still got flustered over heavy emotions. Y-You don’t need to thank me, Raps.”
Rapunzel smiled and rubbed her cheek with her thumb. “I think it’s long overdue.”
“Y-You’d do the same for me… You have done the same for me. And I hate to see you in so much pain. If I can relieve some of that pain, even if it’s only slightly, I’ll do anything.”
Rapunzel could only smile. “I’m so lucky to have you.” Rapunzel then giggled. “I’m glad you didn’t kill me all those years ago.”
“Yeah…” Cassandra agreed, not even disagreeing with the fact that she wanted to… hurt her then. “...me too.”
Rapunzel smiled, pushed herself up, and caught Cassandra’s lips in a soft kiss. Cassandra quickly melted into the kiss as she pulled the princess more firmly against her body and kissed her back. Rapunzel eventually pulled away and once more laid her head against her chest and closed her eyes with a sigh. They fell back into another comfortable silence, just enjoying each other’s company.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Nearly two hours later, Rapunzel and Cassandra lay side-by-side staring up at the stars. Cassandra had one arm wrapped around Rapunzel while the other was placed behind her head. Rapunzel cuddled into her side as they watched the beautiful night sky. “Hey, Cass?”
“Yeah, Raps?”
“...Do we really have to leave?”
Cassandra sighed. “You know better than I do that we have to.”
“Where are we gonna even go…? And with Nova…”
“I know,’ Cassandra nodded. “It’s gonna be rough. But we don’t have a choice. As for where we are gonna go… Ingvar.”
“What?” Rapunzel looked up at her in confusion. “Why Ingvar?”
“Because we’ll be safe there. It’s not only heavily guarded but on sacred grounds as well which means Azriel can’t step anywhere near there.”
“But they don’t let strangers in.”
“...I have some friends there.”
Rapunzel had to prop herself up on that one as her eyes widened. “You have friends in Ingvar? How come I don’t know about this?”
“It’s a long story and I promise I’ll tell you later. But you’ll be safe there, which is what's most important.”
“But it’s so far away… and isn’t the journey to Ingvarr like really, really dangerous? It’s all foreign over there.”
“It’s very dangerous. But it’s a good thing I know the area.”
“Okay, you really need to tell me that story.”
“I will,” Cassandra nodded. “But.. that’s what I wanted to talk with you about. As you said, it’s insanely dangerous; both the journey there and especially once we get closer to Ingvar. So I need you to listen to everything I say. No arguments, no nothing. No matter what the circumstance is. If I tell you to run and get out of there, you run, even if it means leaving me behind.”
“What? Cass, I can’t promise something like that!”
“Rapunzel,” Cassandra said seriously as she let go of her and grasped her hand before remeeting her eyes. “You need to trust that I know what I’m doing and even if it doesn’t seem like it, everything will be fine. Okay?” Rapunzel hesitated, so Cassandra added: “You trust me, right?”
Rapunzel nodded without hesitation. “Of course I do.”
Cassandra smiled and rubbed her thumb over her knuckles. “Then you need to trust that I really do know what I’m doing. So… do you promise?”
Rapunzel sighed and nodded. “I promise. But you need to promise me that you’ll be careful and if it’s more than you can handle, you won’t take it all on yourself and ask for help. I can fight too, you know, I’m not some ‘weak damsel in distress.”
“I know. But if you really want me to promise that, you need to promise that you’ll be on full alert. That means sleeping properly, eating properly, and not having your mind clouded. You need to be on full alert. And you need to let me teach you how to fight with a sword.”
“What? Why?” Rapunzel asked, tilting her head cutely.
“Because you can’t use a frying pan forever.”
“Why not? It’s always been effective.”
Cassandra fixed her with a reprimanding glare. “As I said, I won’t promise you anything unless you promise me that you can do all that.”
Rapunzel groaned. “Fine.”
“Say it. Say ‘I promise’ so I know that you mean it.”
“Fine,” Rapunzel huffed. Damn her for knowing her so damn well. “I promise.”
The glare left Cassandra’s face as she smiled. “Good. Then I promise too.”
“Can I still have the frying pan, though? It’s like my signature thing.”
Cassandra raised an eyebrow with an amused smile. “Your signature thing?”
Rapunzel nodded. “Yep. Your signature thing is a sword and fighting, my signature thing is hitting people with heavy skillet frying pans.”
Cassandra laughed, making Rapunzel smile. “Sure, you can still have a frying pan. I guess two weapons are better than one anyway.”
Rapunzel smiled but then it fell as she sighed in exasperation. “What’s with everyone wanting to kill me? Do I have a big ‘kill me, I’m available’ sign on my back or something?”
Cassandra could tell that she was joking by the way that one lip curled up in a half-smile so she let out a laugh. “Tell me about it. I swear you have some kind of radar that makes all the danger follow us.”
Rapunzel giggled but then it fell and she looked away. “I just wish I didn’t constantly put everyone in danger.”
Cassandra directed her eyes back towards her and smiled. “It’s not your fault. You’re just too pure for this world and that scares people. You’re the sunshine in a cruel, dark, cold world and unfortunately, others want to destroy any sunshine there is because they’re jealous and it intimidates them.”
Rapunzel looked up at Cass in surprise and adoration. She was not expecting a response like that. “...Thanks Cass.. that means a lot.” Cassandra only looked down at her and smiled. The same smile that Rapunzel loved so dearly. Then Rapunzel let out a teasing, mischievous smile. “You’ve gotten way too sweet over the years.” She teased. “Sure you’re not going soft on me?”
Cassandra only gave her a desire-filled smile, her eyes boring into her soul. “Do you really want to find out?” Rapunzel blushed deeply at the hidden message. Cassandra continued though, already thoroughly enjoying making the princess flustered. “I mean, that’s not what you said a couple of hours ago. But I don’t have a problem showing you just how ‘soft’ I really am.” Cassandra slowly trailed her hand up her thigh. Rapunzel tensed as her hand slowly trailed its way up. It stopped once it got to her inner thigh and at this point, Rapunzel was already slightly panting. Cassandra leaned over and whispered in her ear: “Would you like that, Ra-pun-zel?”
Rapunzel shivered at the way her warm breath blew into her ear. But something changed in Rapunzel then. She didn’t know if it was because of all the emotional stuff that’s happened the last couple of days, the stress, the fact that she still held so much anger in her heart, or the worry for the future, but something switched in her and for once in their relationship, Rapunzel took the first intuitive. She grabbed Cassandra by the shoulders and pulled her in for a deep, mind-shattering kiss. The sudden boldness and aggressiveness Rapunzel used surprised the hell out of Cassandra so when Rapunzel pulled away and stared deep into her eyes, confusion must’ve been present on her face.
“What? It’s been a long couple of days, I need to get aggravation out somehow without killing anyone.”
Once she got over her surprise, Cassandra chuckled and leaned closer so that their lips were barely an inch apart. “Fine with me.” She whispered. With that, Cassandra crashed her lips to Rapunzel’s. Rapunzel greedily flourished in the kiss before shoving her tongue into Cassandra’s mouth. Cassandra groaned and raised her hand, placing it on her cheek to better reach her.
Rapunzel pressed herself more firmly against the warrior before raising her leg and placing it over Cassandra’s hip. Cassandra pulled back, panting slightly. “You weren’t kidding.”
“Just shut up and fuck me, Cassandra.”
This whole new attitude surprised the hell out of Cassandra but if she was being honest, it was turning her on like never before. “Oh, I’ll fuck you alright,” Cassandra responded. “You’re lucky I thought ahead and brought our little magic worker.”
“Hurry it up then,” Rapunzel responded, leaning closer so that she could press a ghost of a kiss on Cassandra’s lips. Cassandra pressed forward and caught her lips into another dominant, harsh kiss before she grabbed Rapunzel’s leg with one hand and pulled it more over her hip then she thrusted into her, making Rapunzel throw her head back and moan. Cassandra took the opportunity to attack her neck. Kissing, licking, nipping; she did it all. Rapunzel eventually pulled her back to face level and grabbed her face to kiss her once more. Cassandra groaned when Rapunzel’s tongue reentered her mouth and battled with her own. Cassandra, as always, won.
Rapunzel pulled herself as close to the warrior as she could physically get and basically ravished her mouth all the while running her warm hands all over Cassandra’s body. Rapunzel rocked herself against the warrior, the slight friction bringing pleasure to both of them. It got to the point where Cassandra couldn’t help but moan into her mouth. Something she didn’t usually do. The warrior was pretty good at keeping her moans to herself. Rapunzel had only ever heard her actually moan like twice.
Eventually, the two women ended up in an upright position, with Rapunzel straddling Cassandra’s lap and Cassandra kissing the hell out of her. Cassandra had her hands on her hips and both women were doing a slight rocking motion, the friction causing both of them to moan. With her hands on her shoulders, Rapunzel pulled away and stared deeply into Cassandra’s eyes, both panting softly; the desire-filled, wild look in Rapunzel’s eyes foreign to Cassandra. Rapunzel placed her forehead against the warrior’s and rocked against her, making her moan. “I love you,” Rapunzel said breathlessly.
Cassandra smiled and placed a quick kiss on her lips. “I love you too.” Talking went out the window directly after that as Rapunzel recaught her lips. As the passion regrew, Cassandra ended up pushing Rapunzel back onto her back and retook her position above her. It didn’t take long for Cass to get their ‘little magic worker’ set up and she didn’t waste a single second as she thrusted in Rapunzel with ease. Cassandra silenced her moan by recatching her lips into a mind-shattering kiss as she started to thrust in and out of her. As Cassandra’s thrusts became harder and faster, Rapunzel was no longer able to keep contact with her lips as she threw her head back and moaned. Cassandra took the chance to attack her neck and run her hands all over her body.
Despite her body not wanting to move, Rapunzel placed her arms around her neck then pulled herself up and recaught Cassandra’s lips. Cassandra continued to pump in and out of her as she tried to keep up with Rapunzel’s wet, hot kisses that sent her head spinning. For once, she felt like she was gonna have a release, first, at any moment but she could hold out. She wanted to bring Rapunzel over the edge first. Letting go of her lips, Cassandra started to thrust in and out of her at a rapid pace. Rapunzel’s moans grew by the second; it got to the point where she could barely move and all she could do was moan. Cassandra, still rapidly pumping in and out of her, pinned her arms above her head and kissed her fiercely and roughly, tongue and all.
At this point, all thoughts and control over her body went out the window as Rapunzel only could hold on to the ride. She realized quite quickly that a release was creeping up on her. “Mmm, Cass, I..mmm..” Cassandra couldn’t help but smirk at the way she couldn’t even form a coherent sentence.
“Come for me my love, come for me.” And boy, did she. Rapunzel’s mouth went slack, her body tensed and she had to squeeze her eyes shut. Cassandra wasn’t far behind because as soon as Rapunzel let go, Cassandra let go. Thrusting in and out of her two more times, she buried herself to the hilt and groaned as a wave of pleasure washed over her. When she could at least somewhat move, she pulled out of her, took the thing off, and fell right beside her, still breathing roughly. “...Wow,” Cassandra said after a couple of minutes.
Cassandra heard a weak, breathless giggle. “That’s usually my line.”
Cassandra turned to her and grinned. “You need to get like that more often.”
Cass couldn’t help but grin even wider when Rapunzel laughed. “Alright, horndog.”
Cassandra snorted. “Look who’s talking. You took the first intuitive this time.”
“It’s your fault. You were the one that started messing with my thoughts.”
“I said literally a sentence and then you were all over me.”
Rapunzel tilted her head towards her and gave her a mischievous smile. “What can I say? You’re too hot to resist.”
Cassandra shook her head with a smile. “I don’t know where this feistiness came from, but I like it.”
Rapunzel rolled her eyes. “Of course you do.” Cassandra smiled as she grabbed the princess and pulled her into her body then she dug her face into her neck in a silly, playful manner, tickling her in the process. Rapunzel giggled as she tried to playfully shove her away but Cass’s grip was strong; securely wrapped around her stomach as she nuzzled her. This time, Rapunzel laughed. “Cass, stop it!” Cassandra nuzzled her one more time before she placed a small kiss on her chin. “You’re such a dork.” Rapunzel giggled a second time.
“Hey, someone has to keep a positive attitude.” She grinned. She desperately hoped that her dark humor wasn’t too much and hoped that it didn’t end up upsetting Rapunzel. But, to her relief, Rapunzel laughed.
“Alright, Ms. Cynical.”
“That’s ‘Mrs.’, thank you very much.” Rapunzel rolled her eyes with a smile. But then a cold breeze passed over her and she shivered. Cassandra immediately went into her concerned and protective mode. “Are you cold?”
Rapunzel smiled at her to reassure her. “I’m fine, Cass.” But then her body betrayed her by shivering again. Cassandra shook her head before she leaned over to the side, grabbed her cape, and draped it over the princess. “Cass, I’m-”
“Shush you,” Cassandra responded, pulling the still slightly shivering princess (even with the cape) into her arms. “The last time that you said that you got sick and we had to spend a couple of days in a hospital.”
Rapunzel couldn’t help but grin at the memory. “Oh, I remember that. It wasn’t all bad~.” She basically purred. “I mean, we used our time there…” She gave Cass a suggestive grin. “...wisely.”
Cassandra was surprised, although she really shouldn’t be, by Rapunzel’s clear dirty joke before she shook her head. “Once upon a time ago, you were innocent.”
“I blame you,” Rapunzel teased. “After our first night sleeping together, well..” She paused. “...let’s just say that I decided I was never going back to living without it.”
Cassandra laughed, making Rapunzel grin. “And you call me a horndog.”
“Well, you are the one that took my virginity.”
That caught Cassandra’s attention quite quickly. “Wait, I was your first?”
Rapunzel tilted her head in confusion. “Well, yeah. I thought you knew that?”
Cass shook her head. “I always thought that you and Eugene…”
“He wanted to wait until we were married. Besides, it wasn’t like sex was really on my mind before then. I still had weird teenage hormones and I honestly didn’t learn about it until after I left the tower.”
“Gothel never gave you, you know, ‘the talk’?”
Rapunzel shook her head. “Nope. She wanted to keep me innocent so when teenage hormones started to kick in, I wouldn’t want to leave in search of someone.”
Cassandra tilted her cutely with a small grin. “So, who told you?”
“I heard some people talking about it around the castle and I was curious. Besides that, I had just turned 18 and I was in a newfound relationship so those darn hormones started to kick in and I didn’t know how to deal with it. I ended up asking my mom and she had to explain it to me.” Then Rapunzel gave her a sly grin. “Honestly, I considered asking you.”
“Me?”
“Yep. Actually, you were the person that came to mind to ask considering you were the one teaching me everything else anyway. You were my best friend and that’s what best friends do - answer embarrassing questions.”
Cassandra shook her head with a smile. “You barely knew me at that point, Raps.”
“And? You know I’ve never been one to run with logic. My heart basically attached myself to you when I first saw you in the field when you tried to take my head off.” She giggled.
“I swear, that was not on purpose. It’s not everyday that you see some random girl in a tree watching you.” Rapunzel laughed. “So, why didn't you ask me?”
“I figured you probably wouldn’t have been comfortable with it so I thought better of it.”
Cassandra really thought about it then she nodded. “Alright, that checks out.”
“It would have been a really awkward conversation. You probably would’ve tried to run away.”
Cassandra chuckled. “Honestly, I probably would have.” Rapunzel laughed. She then smiled, gently grasped the warrior’s cheeks, and leaned forward to press a soft, loving kiss to her lips. It only lasted for a couple of seconds but to Cassandra, it lasted an eternity. When Rapunzel finally pulled away, Cass’s eyes slowly fluttered open. “What was that for?” She whispered, staring into Rapunzel’s golden-green eyes.
Rapunzel smiled and pressed another soft kiss to her lips, this time much quicker. “No reason. I just love you a lot.”
Cassandra smiled sweetly then placed her thumb under her chin and pulled her closer until their lips came together again. Rapunzel tilted her head and smiled into the kiss, placing her hand on the back of her neck. Unlike before - these kisses were sweet, soft and full of love. They both eventually pulled apart and stared into each other’s eyes. “I love you too, Raps.”
Rapunzel smiled and nuzzled her before she wrapped her arms around the warrior’s torso and dug her face under her chin. Cassandra smiled and wrapped her arms around her, pressing a small kiss to the top of her head before resting her head on top of hers. The two lay in silence for a bit until Cassandra was sure that Rapunzel fell asleep. To test her theory, she tried to gently move her and when she only groaned and pressed herself closer, Cassandra chuckled and nuzzled her. She was just glad that Rapunzel was finally asleep and getting some rest. Gently removing one of her arms from around her, Cassandra grabbed her clothes, and with one arm (cause the other was occupied holding Rapunzel) she got dressed. She grabbed the princess’s clothes but she knew that there was no point in dressing her.
Cassandra’s eyes softened as she saw the peaceful look on her wife’s face. Gently brushing her hair out of her face, she rubbed her thumb across her cheek. Rapunzel smiled and cuddled into it. Cassandra smiled but then it dropped as she rubbed her thumb across her cheek again, sighing. In all honesty, Cassandra wasn’t okay herself. She was having a hard time keeping it together. Seeing her lover go through this… seeing her in such pain.. was slowly killing her bit by bit. Rapunzel just wasn’t… Rapunzel and it was tearing her apart. From the little bit of information she had, she knew that the princess was confused about her place in the world. She knew the feeling. Rapunzel helped her find who she was and who she wanted to be - she pushed her to find her destiny, her purpose. But now - Rapunzel was the one who needed to find who she was and find out what her destiny was.
Cassandra thought that Rapunzel already knew who she was and what her destiny was but apparently, she didn’t. Cassandra wanted to ease her pain so bad, to help her, but this was something she needed to figure out on her own. Of course, Cassandra would be there with her every step of the way but she couldn’t do it for her as much as she wished she could. She just wished that the princess didn’t have to be in so much pain trying to get there. But Cassandra understood - she knew what it was like; being lost and not knowing if she would ever find who she is. Feeling so alone even though she was surrounded by people who loved her. Being confused and angry at the fact that she couldn’t figure it out; not even knowing what is wrong in the first place. Being frustrated and scared that she would never figure it out. Cassandra knew it all, she knew it well. It was one of the worst feelings in the world.
Think about it - you think you know who you are your whole life then all of a sudden, things change and you have these newfound feelings that terrify the shit out of you. Going from being someone to no one in a matter of seconds. At least, in your own mind. It took Cassandra a long, long time to figure out who she was, or rather, who she was meant to be, who she wanted to be. Cassandra desperately hoped that it doesn’t take Rapunzel how long it took her because she doesn’t know how much more she could take. She has never seen Rapunzel this way - and she could quite literally feel the amount of pain she was in. Ever since Cassandra and Rapunzel had been connected together by the stones, they could sometimes feel each other's emotions. Or at least, she could feel Rapunzel’s. Rapunzel was in denial and pain and Cassandra figured that that denial and pain were blocking out her potential powers. They were connected as one but since the princess felt so alone, it was as if she erased Cassandra from her mind and heart. It was as if she forgot that she wasn’t alone. Which, in reality, she did.
That’s how Cassandra knew that Rapunzel wasn’t okay despite her constant reminders that she was. She could feel it. And that is what’s also breaking her. She could feel how much pain she was in, deep down in her heart and there was nothing she could do about it. She had been trying to ease some of that pain lately and it worked, for a short time, then Rapunzel goes back to her ‘I hate myself and I’m angry at myself and everyone around me’ attitude. She knew the princess doesn’t mean to snap at her, considering she was the one that she took all her anger out on, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt.
But what didn’t add up is that there’s still something Rapunzel isn’t telling her. Something that Cassandra couldn’t figure out no matter how hard she looked. It was as if the princess completely blocked out whatever that is out - like it didn't exist. Sounds like something Rapunzel would do. And considering the young woman was having an essential crisis, whatever else that was bothering her, was bringing her down even further. Cass wished that Rapunzel would just talk to her so Cass knew how to help her but the princess refused to do so. Rapunzel promised she would eventually tell her when she was ready and Cassandra promised she would be patient. But that doesn’t mean she was still not unpatient. Seeing her in such pain destroys Cassandra and she felt so helpless. She wanted to take all her pain away and take it on as her own but she knew she couldn’t. She couldn’t fight this battle for her.
Watching the princess had been a constant workout lately. She was scared that the princess was a danger to herself and that she would eventually do something stupid. So whether Rapunzel liked it or not, Cass kept an eye on her, even when she thought that she was alone. Her trainees and Eugene (who was, unfortunately, her boss) understood and excused her from work already. Eugene actually suggested it. He was worried about her too - they all were. Rapunzel didn’t know that she was being secretly watched and although she said she didn’t do anything else behind her back, that was a huge lie. She absolutely hates lying to Rapunzel - she hates lying to anyone - being a liar just wasn’t who she was. She hated being lied to, especially after the whole Zhan Tiri fiasco, so she never lied unless it was absolutely necessary, when she didn’t have a choice. If betraying Rapunzel’s trust meant that she could keep her safe and unharmed, Cassandra would do it any day.
Cassandra bent down and gently picked up the sleeping princess in her arms. Rapunzel cuddled against her and laid her head against her chest. Smiling sadly, Cassandra wrapped her cape around her and then pressed a small kiss to her forehead. “It’ll all be okay, Rapunzel,” Cassandra whispered. “I’ll make sure of it.” With that, she made her way home, the sleeping princess comfortably laying in her embrace.
