Ronin Warriors Fan Fiction ❯ Bound ❯ Chapter 4 ( Chapter 4 )
Notes: Bold is telepathic speech italics are thoughts
& nbsp; Anubis sighed as he left the great hall, the other warlords trailing after him. Talpa hadn't been overly pleased with there progress. Or lack there of. They hadn't brought back any useful information from the mortal realms as had been the aim of their going there in the first place. One scrawny human hostage, however close to the ronin brats it might be, was in inconsequential.
&nb sp; The good news was that since Talpa had no plans for the boy, they could do as the like with him. The thought went a long way toward's lifting the man's spirits.
; He entered his room and looked around for their fair captive. He wasn't on the bed, or any other furniture in the room. Aubis stepped inside and looked on the other side of the bed and behind the table. He was starting to get frustrated when he heard a noise above him. His head tipped back to look at the naked beams overhead. There. Something on that beam definitely moved.
& nbsp; Anubis willed himself up onto the beam above it and looked down. Sure enough, the boy was curled up on the hard wood, fast asleep. Anubis crept with arms reach of the boy and studied him. He looked younger, more relaxed in deep sleep. One hand was curled in a fist next to his head. He still looked beautiful, but in a sleepy child kind of way. Anubis had the sudden urge to pick him up and cuddle with him.
&nb sp; Yuli's nose twitched, as if scenting the air even in sleep. Slowly, much more slowly than when he had woken before, Yuli's eyes slid open and he looked somewhat blearily at the man in front of him. His eyes were a unfocused and he made no sign of distress or even recognition. Anubis shook his head slightly and picked him up.
&nbs p; He jumped down from the ceiling with a soft whoomp on to the floor and deposited the child onto the bed. Yuli curled up around one of the pillows and was instantly asleep again. Anubis left to discuss their next move with the others, satisfied for the time being that their prisoner wasn't going anywhere.
!@#$#@!
&nbs p; Yuli woke up on a soft bed and couldn't for the life of him figure out how he'd gotten back down there. He'd been perched up in the rafters to keep a weather eye out for the warlords return and had fallen asleep. He looked up wondering for a moment if he'd fallen off the rafter back onto the bed. Well, it wouldn't do to have the warlords come back in and find him there on the bed, of all places. He climbed off the bed.
&nb sp; The warlords walked in, probably to do naughty things to the stud muffin still in there, when they stopped dead in there tracks.
The boy was climbing the wall. The smooth, plastered, impossible for human hands to scale wall. And he was just climbing right up it like a fly.
&nb sp; Yuli's head whipped around in shock and gasped when the men walked in. The warlords were treated to the sight of pointed ears and teeth before the youth scurried as fast as he could up the wall into the rafters.
They saw.They saw.They saw.They saw.They saw.They saw.Oh fuck.They saw.They saw.They saw.
; He reached the first beam only to be smacked back down by Cale perching on top of it. He landed on his feet on the floor only to be slammed by a hand on his throat into the wall and held there. Yuli squirmed and gasped for breath for a few seconds 'til the hand loosened enough for him to draw air into his starved lungs.
& nbsp; They were all clustered around him now staring at him. Sehkmet's hand darted forward and caught Yuli's wrist to drag it forward for close inspection. Or rather for close inspection of his short, slightly curved claws. Yuli tugged on his arm and hissed angrily, baring elongated canines. That just earned him a slap.
&n bsp; "What are you?"
&n bsp; It wasn't as disgusted or outraged as Yuli might have expected from his previous encounters of this sort. It was direct and no-nonsense. Anubis could have been asking him if he was a baseball or sumo fan.
&nb sp; "I don't know."
& nbsp; Anubis glared at the boy who just shrugged and glared. Anubis wasn't having any of that. It was time to get serious.
; Yuli started when Anubis ripped the pants off his body in one vicious tug and pushed his hand between the flailing legs. Searching. Yuli's eye became the size of plates and he cried out when one sub-armored finger started to push at his entrance. He struck out with the claws on his hands and feet, only to feel them grabbed and held by the other warlords. He bucked and trembled and tried to push the awful men off him.
&nb sp; Anubis pushed the finger in up to the first knuckle and heard his captive sob.
&nb sp; "I'll ask you again-"
"I DON'T KNOW!!!!!!" the voice shook with sobs, "I've just always been like this."
& nbsp; "Like what?" Yuli looked confused. "What changes? what can you do?" He pushed the finger in a little farther up the tight passage.
; "I change." Yuli wiggled his clawed fingers. "Sometimes I sort of shrink and start thinking more like a cat than a person. I can't really control it. And I always know when people are lying."
"And that's it?" Yuli shrugged and Anubis curled the finger. "It k..keeps changing as I g..get older. I swear I d..don't know." Yuli was crying in earnest now, shaking with soft sobs while tears streamed down his beautiful face.
&n bsp; Anubis and released his neck and the others released his as well. Yuli slid bonelessly to the floor, his arms wrapped around himself, his claws digging bloody furrows into his arms.
&n bsp; Well, know what the hell do we do with him?
&nb sp; We could still fuck him.
&nb sp; Look at him, he's already broken. By a finger?
No, this happened long before we got to him.
&nb sp; Dais knelt down next to the boy and reached a hand to brush the hair out of his face. Yuli jerked back with a cry and tried to get away from the man. Dais grabbed onto his let and dragged him back toward him. Yuli whimpered and tried to push the man away as he picked him up and started to carry him away. He was too terrified of them all by now to think of striking out.
&nb sp; Where the fuck are you taking him?
&nb sp; I'm going to try to calm him down. There's nothing to be done with him like this.
&n bsp; Dais walked them down the hall into his own quarters and deposited the boy on the bed. Yuli tried to dart off again, but Dais held him down with a hand in the small of his back. He willed the sub-armor away and stood there in a light blue yukata. He sat down on the edge of the bed and rubbed the crying child's back, murmuring soothingly until his sobs quieted and then stopped altogether. Yuli peaked over at the other man, who smiled not unkindly at him.
&nb sp; "Drink this." Dais handed the boy a cup, which Yuli sniffed at. "It's only water." Yuli took a sip.
&nb sp; "You trust very easily." Yuli raised an eyebrow at him and Dais thought about what the boy had said a few moments ago and looked thoughtful. "But maybe you would have known if I was lying to you." Yuli just looked at him inscrutably. Dais tipped his head in thought, looking at the now human again hands.
& nbsp; "That's how you keep getting out of locked cells and manacles, isn't it? I bet those claws are handy little lock picks." The boy frowned, well, really more of a pout. "Handy little trait in a creature." Yuli looked a little taken aback at that.
&n bsp; "You really don't know what you are, do you?" Yuli shook his head and put the cup on the table next to the bed. "That must have been so awful. Seeing others so secure in their humanity while you struggled with the unknown everyday." He reached out a pale hand to brush the lingering tears off the flushed cheeks. "I don't suppose you ever found any reference to nekojin in any history of the mortal realms?" Yuli shook his head, looking a little lost. "There are many dimensions in existence. Hundreds upon thousands. You might have come from a race of one of them."
& nbsp; "Not likely." Yuli spoke up for the first time in a dejected tone. "I was born from a human woman. I have the pictures to prove it. Plus they get your hand and foot prints at birth, and I've checked before to make sure they are mine." He sighed in frustration. "I'm probably just some mutant."
; "Well, we aren't going to find out tonight." Dais lifted the sheets and climbed into bed before pulling them up around himself and the boy. Yuli scooted a little further away and Dais didn't try to pursue him. It would be better for now to let the boy have his space until he felt comfortable around him. And then, maybe.... Dais preferred his partners warm and willing, although in a pinch he would settle for confused or frightened. But fear didn't do anything for this boy. And it seemed like such a waste for such a sweet creature to be afraid of something as wonderful as sex.

Author's note: Nekojin is Catpeople in Japanese. I'm posting this update to say I have not given up on this fic and have no intention of doing so. I'm just going through a difficult time in my life right now and sometimes writing is not always at the top my priority list. Thanks for all the readers who haven't given up on me.
