Hn. *picks at tired teeth* Sometimes I hate myself. I cannot believe my work ethic. I'm barely healthy enough to go to school and here I am at 12:00 PM rewriting…and singing "I'm a Pepper! You're a Pepper! Be a Doctor Pepper too!"
…. Don't ask. Anyway, instead of using my numbers system, I'm going to use words.
And finally: I dedicate this insane chapter to the drink Dr. Pepper (owned by whoever owns it). I am nearly a zombie and Dr. P has kept that from happening. I also dedicate this to Denise Paolucci. She is amazing when you want to write weird-semismut.
Holy hell in a hand basket! This litter mother-heifer is friggin' SHORT!

Overture
Her jaw dropped. "WHAT!"
Seiji ran a hand through his hair. He could feel the sweat begin to bead at the tip of his hairline and the back of his head. Whenever he was around her, his feelings went crazy and nothing made sense. But that was okay because he didn't want his feelings to make sense. He watched Nasuti as she put her jaw back into its proper spot.
Painfully aware of the lack of privacy, Seiji repeated his statement. "You're with child. My child."
He nearly swore when she gave him the brightest smile that he'd ever seen. She seemed so happy. She wouldn't be nearly so happy for very long. But if her Siren blood could sustain her, she might survive the pregnancy. He carefully noted the 'might' in his mind and realized just how worried he was.
"I'll be fine, silly! Don't worry, members of my family are very hard to kill," Nasuti said brightly.
Holy hell in a hand basket! Was I that obvious? He thought. Instead, he replied dryly, "I noticed."
She smiled. The smile was gone in a matter of seconds, after she had collapsed to her knees. Seiji wobbled to his own knees.
I can't see straight, he realized with horror. He never noticed the way she smiled…
i. Falling into Hell
Her eyes glowed in the moonlight that highlighted her features. Her very blood seemed to sing. She licked her lips hungrily, waiting for him to wake. She bent over his face to watch his eyes open. They fluttered open, just barely glimpsing her before closing again. He groaned, making her shiver with delight. His first words were a question. She waved it away. Answers weren't important. His next words were an insult. She discounted that, too. Insults were hardly worth her time, she decided as she pushed him onto his back, a cat playing with its prey. Though this consumption would be far more pleasant for all parties involved than a cat's eating of a mouse. She could tell from the look in his eyes that his need coursed within his veins. She would wait for another minute. The Daemon's chi was not yet ripe. She lazily traced the veins in his neck. He rewarded her with a gasp and a moan. She covered his lips with her own. He pulled her close to him, sliding his hands down her back. He had forgotten that she was a Lorelei, a creature almost as rare and powerful as he was. She stretched herself against him, murmured spells in the Blood Tongue. He forgot himself almost instantly. His hands ripped at her clothing, his lips singed her flesh, he parted her legs roughly. She complied. He was making a fool of himself like this, but he would feed her well. She would not hunger this month.
