[8:23AM, approximately]

Completely unaware of its contents, Fated One Date Seiji glanced down blankly at the paper in his hands, already wondering what in the hell to do with it. The Watcher assigned to him smiled grimly as the Fated One set his teeth, an almost imperceptible movement of anger as he read the strange text. . The Watcher shivered as its target looked directly at it- and the shiver was not only because of the predatory gaze, but also because of the understanding, the look of seeing.

The target turned and called the name of his female, and then called some more- but the rest was in some human tongue of which the Watcher had no knowledge. Then suddenly the target turned to the thing, and the Watcher felt its first and last strong emotion: pure, mind-numbing terror. The target frowned and aimed something invisible at the Watcher-it knew only because it could feel the jagged bolt of invisible electricity streak through the air.

[8:27AM, approximately]

Seiji frowned rather thoughtfully at the decaying cadaver in Nasuti's hedge, for it was a Watcher, and that was an evil omen. He could not help but wonder who had sent the thing for to Construct a Watcher was no mean feat-indeed, only one with tremendous power and knowledge could create such terrible creatures. It was a good thing that Nasuti had remained inside, for Watchers were inherently dangerous and extremely volatile.

Seiji wrestled down the urge to destroy the entire shrub, scorch the leaves off every tree in sight, and turn the house inside out looking for another damned Watcher. It would attract too much attention and attention was not something that he needed-no, he needed food, and quickly, though he did not think he'd be able to get it.

Nasuti had been released from the Hospital three days prior, with both Seirene and baby intact, and Seiji was extremely relived. Ryoko was glad to see that Rya was fine, and that Lloyd had treated her well. Rya was merely glad to be back. Lloyd seemed friendly enough, except that he was frequently looking for Rya. The only thing that really seemed to bother Seiji about the ordeal was the Darkness' laughter and Lloyd's blackout. Lloyd claimed that he couldn't remember anything from a few months before Rya's kidnapping.

Yeah, I know, short chapter. But still! I mean, I couldn't go on. And I'm thinking of making IDN a "first book" of sorts. Afterwards, there's gonna be one called Dark Night's Wind, and afterwards, The Shattering Glass.
