Ronin Warriors Fan Fiction ❯ Redemption is not kind ❯ Upon the bridge ( Prologue )
[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
A ghostly form stands on the bridge looking at the body floating in the calm, blood tinged water near forgotten in the ensuing battle. He frowns, the task he set is done. Kayura is freed, now chosen by the staff. With a few small gestures the battered body rises from the water. There is life there, but it is faint and fragile and there is little time. He cradles the near still body in his arms, he feels the water from the stagnant lake weigh down the vermilion hair and the torn and blood stained clothing. Saving this one he cannot do alone, and his own time is near done. The body coughs and a small trickle of blood flows from between pale lips. He knows where he must take this one, and hopes he can find peace there.
“...Rest Shuten...” He whispers, cradling the body closer. “...Your battle is over now.”
With a thought they vanish from the bridge, leaving behind the soft jingle of rings on a monk’s staff.
