Down The Well Again

~NO POV~

She didn't know why, but something was nagging her. It filled her with a sense of impending doom, a doom that was quickly approaching. It was the doom that she felt each time Naraku was around; however that wasn't the case since Naraku had been killed a few days earlier and the whole Shikon Jewel laid on her neck. She thought about hiding, but she didn't know what that would accomplish. She decided to stand up to this feeling that was blurring her vision, and making her feel as if she was going to faint. She rose from her sleeping bag and took her weapons with her, including her pack. She walked straight into the Inuyasha's forest with out a moment's hesitation. She had grown much stronger than she once was. Instead of using her brain, she let her feet guide her to her destination. When she became within a mere feet from the location cold sweat was forming from her brow. Her heart started beating painfully inside of her chest. For a moment she felt as if she was going to faint. She bravely subsided her fear and glanced into the clearing. What she saw made her beating heart stop straight in its tracks.

"Oh My God", she muttered on under her breath. In the clearing she could see two figures entangled in each other's arms. The female had long black hair that was spread along the ground. The male had silvery-white hair. She felt her eyes water up. The figures that she once saw so clearly were now a blur. She took a step back and her foot hit a twig. She glanced up at the two lovers hoping that they hadn't noticed her. They were too busy to even sense her presence. Suddenly she couldn't take this pain anymore and she ran with all of her strength. She didn't know where she would end up she just ran as if her life depended on it.

~SAN POV~

I watched as Kagome got out of her sleeping bag. I was going to ask her what she was doing until I saw her eyes. Her eyes held no emotion, not even a flicker of tiredness. I remained motionless as I saw her grab her weapons and pack. She didn't even glance down at the Kitsune as she walked into the forest. I decided against arousing the others and followed her as she walked as if in a trance. I saw her walk to a small clearing, and mutter something beneath her breath. She just stood there for a few seconds with her eyes wide. She then took of into the forest. I wanted to follow her, but I was curious to see what a scared her so. I glanced into the clearing and my breath caught in my throat. I quickly ran after the emotionally distressed mike, hoping that she didn't do anything rash. By the time I caught up with her she had collapsed by the Bone Eater's Well. She sat there weeping. I did the only thing I could do, I tried to comfort her.

~NO POV~

Kagome's head flew up as she saw some one approach her. She saw it was Sango and she felt momentarily comforted. `I wonder what she is doing here' Kagome pondered. The older girl's eyes were filled with sympathy. She then shocked the miko by doing something she didn't expect. Sango sat down beside Kagome and embraced her gently.

"I'm so sorry Kagome." Sango crooned. "I can't tell you how bad I feel. I want you to smile and forget about that baka."

Kagome smiled weakly. She knew just as well as Sango that it would be nearly impossible for her to forget Inuyasha. She sobbed, "What's wrong with me Sango? Did I do something wrong?"

"No Kagome, it's not your fault. It is that baka's fault. You shouldn't cry for him. He is nothing but a jerk and no matter what you think you are very beautiful, there is nothing wrong with you"

"I may be pretty, but not a pretty as Kikyo. I will never be as pretty as her." Kagome stuttered through sobs.

Sango stared at the young miko who she treated like her sister. It had been three years since she first came to the feudal era. She was once a gorgeous fifteen years old who had a child like innocence. Her form had gone from mildly formed to very nicely formed. Her hair that had once gone mid-back now reached to her waist. Her skin glowed in the moonlight making her almost appear as if she was some sort of angel that had chosen to descend from the heavens. The only thing that hadn't changed was her blue-green eyes. Even now that she was eighteen, her eyes still had the same kindness and warm glow to them.

"You baka," Sango laughed. "Are you really gonna let one man ruin your life. You are extremely beautiful, whether you believe it or not. No matter what you say you will always be more beautiful that Kikyo. It is true that Kikyo has the physical appearance; however, she will never make others around her feel comforted by her very presence. Inuyasha is an undeserving baka that made a stupid decision. You shouldn't feel terrible about this, he should. So please stop crying and forget about him."

"Sango? Will you come with me to my time?"

"Of course."

Kagome sat there a few more minutes while Sango held her and calmed her down. The young miko was no longer crying, but smiling as she looked up at Sango. "Thanks Sango. Let's go know." Sango nodded her head in agreement. They both stood up. "Oh my gosh," Kagome exclaimed, "I have to go say goodbye to everyone." Sango merely followed the girl as she headed towards the village.

There was rush of wind, and evil presence lingering in the air around them. She then sensed it. "Watch out Kagome!" Sango yelled as a youkai bursted through the trees. Kagome immediately fell to the ground as the youkai passed over head. She scrambled to her feet and ran to Sango. She was still felt to weak to fight, even with her weapons and pack. When she reached Sango the tail of the youkai hit both of them and they fell into the well. As Kagome fell she saw the youkai above the well hissing at them. `Please' kagome begged `please, take us out of this place and make it so that Inuyasha can't reach us.' She smiled as the familiar blue light surrounded the both of them and they were sent out of this world.
