I don't own anything…

This is going to be a Rurouni Kenshin/Inuyasha crossover in a sort of A/u…hopefully I will get it right!

Prologue…

The God-tree, Sengoku Jidai…

"In..u.. Yasha!" A strangled sob was heard and the birds scattered. He lied to her! He said he loved her. Kagome watched the happy Kikyo and Inuyasha laugh and giggle and plan their new life together. ~Flashback~ Earlier that day, Inuyasha had finally defeated Naraku in a battle that had raged all through the previous night. After the fight, Inuyasha had pulled Kagome aside and had professed his love for her. Overjoyed, Kagome pressed the Shikon No Tama into Inuyasha's hands, trusting him to make the right decision. Two moments later, the jewel cracked and dissipated…Inuyasha's wish had been pure-hearted! Expecting to find a very human Inuyasha, Kagome gasped when she saw the form of her incarnate floating above the earth. Kagome looked at Inuyasha in shock. Just what had he wished for? Kikyo landed softly on the ground and then got up and started stretching her limbs. "Inuyasha?" Kagome inquired of the still-demonic boy, "What have you done?" Inuyasha smirked, "I wished Kikyo an immortal's soul." ~End flashback~ He had lied to her! Kagome's heart wrenched in twain and she ran towards the well.

Three days later, at the Higurashi shrine…

"Are you sure about this, Kagome?" Mrs. Higurashi asked. Kagome nodded, her face an emotionless mask. Kagome was going to live with her Great-Aunt Madoka in Kyoto. Kagome's mother sighed, "Running away won't solve anything." The young Higurashi froze mid-pack, "You wouldn't understand. That bastard took away my happiness. I want as far away from here as possible." The elder woman only nodded. With everything packed, Kagome hugged her mom and patted Sota on the head. Heading for the hired taxi, Kagome stopped to look back just one more time. The shrine, it seemed, was doing its best to make her regret her decision to leave. The sun shined brightly against the red roof. The cherry blossoms were swirling everywhere, casting ethereal warmth about the place. Kagome straightened her shoulders and threw her luggage into the back of the taxi. Kagome sat down and slammed the door shut. And she was off…Far away, in another time, a certain hanyou wondered if he had made the right choice…

A secluded park in Kyoto…

A lone figure made his way along the deserted paths of the park. Dressed all in black, the figure cut a sharp picture. But as the figure came into the sunlight, two things could be noticed. One was the flaming red hair that was strewn about messily and two, was the cross-shaped scar that adorned the man's right cheek. A wanderer perhaps? No…this man was native to Kyoto…perhaps in its seedy Underground…the loner rounded a corner and disappeared…

There it is…hope you like it…
