HERE IT IS>>>THE NEXT CHAPTER!!!
Truth
Kagome gaped at the open door. It was Naraku! How he survived was a mystery to the now seething Miko. "Naraku! You dare to live?" Sakata raised an elegant eyebrow, "I believe you have me confused for someone else. But I do have business with you, Miss Higurashi." Battousai's employer slinked forward, moving as graceful as a snake. Sakata stood in front of Kagome and grabbed her chin, "Mr. Himura here has been tracking you for some time now. You see, I have a taste for young girls like yourself." Kagome shuddered internally and hissed viciously at Sakata, "You won't get past my chin." Sakata clicked his fingers and one of his thugs fisted the young Miko in the back of the knees. Sakata hissed back, "You will learn to respect me, bitch!"
Sakata moved to hit Kagome across the face, but the edge of a sword at his neck stopped him. "I do your dirty work. But I will not see innocent blood shed." Sakata pulled back and sneered, "I don't need my minions telling me what to do." Amber eyes glinting dangerously, Battousai came up behind Kagome and sheathed his sword. "You will not harm her. As of now, she is no longer your concern. If I see your filth within fifty feet of the girl, you will see your own heart stop." Sakata snarled, "Consider your contract null and void. You will no longer receive money from me."
With that last statement, Sakata strode out, visibly shaken. The door slammed and Kagome slid to the ground. Battousai looked down at his `guest' and wondered internally what to do with her. No way could he just let her go…she knew too much. And she could not stay here… Kagome looked up at her captor and asked, in barely a whisper, "What now, Himura-san?" Kenshin's eyes widened a fraction at the title of respect. "I take you home." Kagome breathed a sigh of relief. "Back to Tokyo." Kagome rose up too quickly and she met Kenshin's sword at her nosetip. "I will be going with you." Kagome trembled in fear but soon anger replaced fear and she began berating Kenshin. "I left Tokyo…LEFT Tokyo to get away from…" Kagome stopped there, taking a breath and peering at Kenshin to see what he would do to her. Kenshin stood there, eyes unfocused and then all of a sudden, he snapped out of it and glared at Kagome. "Learn your place, Miss Higurashi." Kagome shuddered and nodded obediently. "Get your things. We leave now."
Back in Tokyo…
Inuyasha paced back and forth in the Higurashi living room. Mrs. Higurashi had not heard from Kagome in the past twenty-four hours. That meant that she was in trouble. Inuyasha could not stand it any longer… "Which way is Kyoto?" Kagome's mother sighed and pointed in the general direction of Kyoto. Inuyasha raced out the door and was gone. `That boy…he will bring Kagome back safe…I just worry for him.'
Train bound for Tokyo…
Kagome looked out the window at the scenery as it rushed by. She had gotten away to avoid trouble and was now bringing it back triple-fold. `This time…you don't have Inuyasha to save you…' The Miko harrumphed angrily and disturbed a snoozing Himura. Kagome smiled nervously and tried to remain calm under the threatening glance of her captor. "When will we reach Tokyo, Himura-san?" Kagome asked, feeling a bit put off by Battousai's unresponsive behavior. "Five minutes." Kagome slumped down into the bench. Immense defeat filled the girl's aura.
Suddenly, the train lurched to a stop, sending the passengers to the floor. Kagome shook her head a couple of minutes later and found herself half straddling her captor's waist. Himura looked up at Kagome through half-lidded eyes. "Off, Miss Higurashi." Kagome scrambled up, blushing beet red. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a glimpse of red material race by the window. "Inuyasha? No…" Himura continued to watch his charge through veiled eyes. The red blur had turned around and was headed to where the train had stopped. Kagome guessed that Inuyasha was the cause of the forced stop. Kagome backed up ever so slowly and was grabbed by Kenshin. "Who is he?" Kagome swallowed, "He…he's an old acquaintance."
Himura frowned and lifted his charge over his shoulders and exited the train. Kenshin came to a halt as the red blur stopped in front of him. Himura raised an eyebrow…a demon…how interesting.
Inuyasha let out a deep growl, "Let her go, you bastard." Kagome sighed and waited. Battousai subconsciously reached for his sword and Inuyasha did the same…but Tetsusaiga wouldn't transform… "Damn sword! Let Kagome go!" Battousai threw Kagome against the train, knocking her out. Inuyasha saw red and pounced. "Iron Reaver!" Inuyasha's attack fell on empty air. "Where are you, you scrawny human!" Battousai leapt down and cried out, "Do Ryu Sen!!" Inuyasha's ears fell back as Battousai's sword hit the ground. The earth started to lift up and fling itself at Inuyasha. Bits of rock and broken glass slashed throught the hanyou's skin. Inuyasha grunted as blood began to trickle down his body. The hanyou drew in a breath and stuck his claws into an open wound. "Claws of Blood!"
The attack flew at Kenshin at an alarming rate. But if it was one thing that Inuyasha sucked at, it was aiming. The powerful attack headed towards Kagome's prone body. Kenshin reacted in a split second and, with his God speed, scooped up the girl's body and covered her body with his own. Inuyasha blinked in horror and could only mutter, "Shit." Kenshin took the attack full force. The dust cleared and to Inuyasha's amazement, Kenshin lifted himself up, very slowly, and then picked Kagome up bridal style. Battousai walked slowly away from the battlescene, staggering only slightly. Inuyasha howled in agony, "KAGOME!"
Underneath a train tressel…two miles from where the train stopped…
Kagome groaned and sat up ever so slowly. `Where am I? Where's Inuyasha?' Looking around her, Kagome tried to find the hanyou. But she saw only a sleeping Kenshin propped up by a concrete wall. Kagome crawled over to her sleeping captor and immeaditely noticed the pool of blood beneath the fallen man. "Oh…" Kagome ripped off Kenshin's shirt and tried to stem the flow of blood. Kenshin grunted and awoke, eyes clouded and unseeing, "Tomoe…you came back…(In my little world, Kenshin remained Battousai even after Tomoe's tragic death…)." Kagome wondered who Tomoe was but was caught off-guard when the semi-conscious man grabbed her and locked lips. Kagome tried to ignore the searing heat of Kenshin's lips and…hands… `Kami…' Kagome tried to pull away but Kenshin would not allow it. Deepening the forced kiss, Kenshin darted his tongue over Kagome's bottom lip, making the girl open her mouth. Kagome let out a moan. Then, Kenshin's mind defogged and he shoved Kagome off of him. Battousai turned enraged amber eyes to Kagome's crumpled form, "What were you doing?". Kagome shakenly met her captor's seering gaze and tried to explain, "I woke up and found you bleeding…I took your shirt and tried to stop the bleeding." Kenshin's wounds decided it was time to kick up the pain a notch. Kenshin collasped back against the wall. Kagome rushed over and started to tend his wounds. Kenshin watched the girl treat his wounds with an expert hand. Kagome asked, "Who is Tomoe?" Kenshin looked at the girl and hissed, "Where did you here that name?" Kagome sighed, "You said her name when you were half-conscious." Kenshin remained silent the rest of the time and let Kagome do what was needed.
Done…with that chapter…
