Feelings
Underneath the train tressel…
It had been a rough night for the Battousai and his captive. The temperature had fallen to a chilly 48°. Kagome awoke, shivering and chattering, to a roaring fire. Something was cooking on a makeshift spit. Kenshin sat in a meditative position not three feet away from where Kagome lay. The fire reflected Battousai's flame hair, making it seem alive. Kagome spent a few seconds taking in the sight. Kenshin opened one eye and stated dryly, "It is rude to stare at one who has provided food for you."
Kagome flushed red in embarrassment. Then, as a show of apology, Kagome took the meat off the spit and blew on it. Taking a hesitant bite, Kagome then handed the spit to Kenshin. The assasin took a bite and put it back over the fire. After a while, Kagome got up the courage to speak, "Himura-san?" Kenshin gazed at the girl with just a hint of annoyance in his amber gaze. Kagome took this as a sign to continue.
"What do you plan to do with me?" The question caught Kenshin's full attention. 'I haven't thought about that…', Kenshin continued to bore his gaze into Kagome's timid one. Kagome met Kenshin's gaze steady on, used to countless showdowns with an arrogant hanyou. Finally, Kenshin answered, "I will keep you out of Sakata's reach. And I will accompany you back to Tokyo." Kagome sighed and took another bite of meat.

Sakata paced his office, his mind filled with the image of the young Kagome Higurashi, with that stubborn glint in her eyes. The businessman had spent a restless night awake, partially afraid that the Hitokiri would come to follow through on his threat. But Sakata's mind, like his incarnation, was dark and dant and filled with visions of power and malice. Like Naraku, Sakata controlled much of what happened in his world.
Thousands of people lived to serve the richest man in Kyoto. But one man continued to live free under Sakata's rule. One whom could strike fear into even the darkest pit of a soul, such as Sakata. The Hitokiri feared nothing, had nothing by which to hang over him… Sakata's eyes widened as he remembered something about Himura. 'Ah yes…' Sakata thought vicously. The Hitokiri's woman, who the assasin thought he had killed, was still breathing. Tomoe, who Sakata had revived and trained for a purpose such as this. The dark-hearted man started to laugh, low in his throat and then maniacally…Tomoe would be the one to do away with the Hitokiri and the Higurashi woman would be his…
I truly am a twisted individual to do that…lol…
