Chapter3: Together Forever


Kenshin and Sano walked to the front of the church to the altar where Hiko and Aoshi already stood.
All of the guests were seated and the church looked beautiful.

'Well, here goes.' Thought Kenshin.

The music began to play. Yahiko who was the ring bearer, began to walk up the aisle. Then
Ayame and Suzume, the flower girls began to walk up the aisle. They looked so cute in their matching pink dresses.
They threw the petals of sakura trees out of their baskets. The floor became covered in the beautiful flowers .
Then the bridesmaids Megumi, Tae, and Tsubame, began to walk up the aisle in the gorgeous blue kimonos. Then Misao, the maid of honor started to come up
the aisle. Then everyone was at the front. There was a moment of silence, then the "here comes the bride musuc" began to play.
Then Kaoru started to walk up the aisle on the arm of Dr. Gensai. Kenshin Gasped at the sight of her.

'She must be the most beautiful woman in the world. She looks like an angel all dressed in white that she does.'

Kaoru was thinking along the samw lines.

'Kenshin's hair looks like fire against his black clothes. He most be the most handsome man in the world.'

When Kaoru reached the front after Dr. Gensai gave her away, Kenshin took both of her hands in his and they both whispered a quiet "I love you."
They walked hand in hand up to where the priest was standing. The priest began speaking, but neither of them was paying much attention. They were locked in each other's loving gaze.
Then they heard The priest begin to read the special bible verse that they had requested to be read before the I do's.

"Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. It is not rude or boastful.....

While this was being read, Kenshin gently squeezed Kaoru's hands. Kaoru looked at Kenshin with a loving smile. Then the priest said:

"Kenshin Himura do you take this woman Kaoru Kamiya to be your lawfully wedded wife for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

"I do."

Sano handed Kenshin the ring with a wink and a grin. Kenshin slipped the ring onto Kaoru's finger with a whispered "I love you."

The priest continued:

"Kaoru Kamiya, do you take this man Kenshin Himura to be your lawfully wedded husband
for better or worse, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

"I do."

Misao handed Kaoru the ring with a beaming smile. Kaoru slipped it on Kenshin's finger with a whispered "I love you to."

"Then with the power invested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Kenshin and Kaoru looked into each other's eyes and then kissed as if it was the last kiss they would ever share. When they broke apart,
Kenshin's violet eyes sparkled with happiness. Then they turned to walk down the aisle together as husband and wife. The happiness in their faces was so astounding
that several people gasped. Kaoru's face was wreathed in smiles. Everyone in the wedding party turned to smile at one another. Well it had finally happened. The fiery haired ruroni and the raven haired girl swordsman were finally together forever.
The two people who had saved each other from a life of lonliness, and who were slowly putting each other back together.

'Oh wow.' thought Sano and Misao at he same time. 'I can't wait to tell them about the honeymoon surprise we planned for them!!!'
