Chapter 4: Honeymoon Surprise

Kenshin and Kaoru's reception was at the dojo. It was a starry, cloudless night.
Kenshin, Kaoru, and the rest of the wedding party were sitting at a table eating, talking, and laughing.
Then Sano stood up and tapped his sake glass with a spoon.

"Everyone we have an announcement."

Kenshin and Kaoru looked at each other. What was he talking about?

"Kenshin, Kaoru we have a surprise for you." Said Sano

Yahiko, Megumi, Misao, Hiko, and Aoshi all got up and presented Kaenshin and Kaoru with two train tickets and
hotel reservations for two weeks in Yokohama. Kenshin and Kaoru were shocked, but happy.

"We thank you very much that we do." Said Kenshin

"Oh my gosh you guys, thank you so much!!! We weren't expecting this."

"We think you guys deserve to be alone for a couple of weeks before you had to come back
and deal with all of us morons." Said Sano.

"Sanosuke, where did you get the money for this?" Asked Kaoru with suspicion.

"You don't need to worry about that Jou-chan, but I'll tell you anyway. We all chipped in. Ya even me ." he said at the look on Kaoru's face.

"I even chipped in a little Battousai, so I wouldn't have to look at your ugly face for two weeks." Said Saitoh with a smirk.

Kenshin's eyes turned slightly amber.

"Well I don't have to see your ugly face for two weeks either , so I thank you." Said Kenshin

Then his eyes went back to a normal color and he smiled again.

"Thank you so much everyone. Kaoru and I will enjoy these very much that we will."

He leans over and kisses Kaoru. Everyone cheers and claps. When everyone sits back down, Sano once again taps his sake glass with his spoon.

"I'd like to start off the toasts. So first I'd like to toast to the bride and groom.
First I'd like to day that Kenshin Himura is the best friend I could ever have. He helped me to stop being Zanza, the fighter for higher, he's always been there
to stop me from doing stupid stuff, and always there for a laugh and a drink of sake. I'd also like to say that if it weren't for Jou-chan, I'd never eat and that means alot to me. She is also a great friend to me.
I practically live at her house, and she dosen't say anything about it. Jou-chan you're like a sister to me. I wish the two of you the happiest of marriages. To my best friends, the bride and groom."

"To the bride and groom." Everyone chanted.

"I'd like to toast to my baka deshi, who has grown up so much, and also to how gorgeous I look in this outfit." Hiko said as he winked at Kenshin.

Kenshin just laughed. Shishou always thought he looked good in everything.

"I'd like to toast to Kaoru, my best friend in the whole world, and to Himura, my good friend for bringing back Aoshi to me." Said Misao smiling.

And so the reception went on, everyone danced and laughed happily at the thought of Kenshin and Kaoru finally being together. Kenshin and Kaoru were dancing to a slow dance when Kaoru said:

"Oh Kenshin I can't wait to go to Yokohama. I haven't been alone with you in such a long time. "

She leaned against him and ran her fingers throuhg his fiery red hair.

"I can't wait either. Can you believe it my Kaoru? We're finally together."

He kisses her gently.

"I love you Kenshin."

"And I love you my beautiful Kaoru."
