A Fighter's Love
Sanosuke sighed as he continued to wander the streets near Karou's dojo. He was bored and had decided to slip out for a little. He turned the corner and saw a group of men trapping a young girl against a wall.
"L-Leave me alone!!" She yelled, trying to act tough. She straightened and assumed a defensive stance. Sanosuke could see she had a few cuts and scrapes also that her kimono was ripped. She didn't look older than 18.
"Aw, c'mon sugar, let us see more of what's under that kimono." One of the thugs shouted, advancing on her. Sanosuke could easily tell he was drunk by the way his speech slurred.
" Hey! Buddy!!" Sanosuke called. "Leave the girl alone! She's obviously not interested in your ugly mug."
"Hey! Who the hell do you think you are?!"
"I'm the guy who's gonna kick your ass!" Sanosuke said stepping towards them. As the men and Sanosuke tussled, the girl quietly slipped away.

"WHERE WERE YOU SANOSUKE?!" Karou yelled as she was putting away the small first aid kit. She scowled waiting impatiently for the former fighter-for-hire's answer.
"A little rumble. When I was walking this group of drunken thugs were harassing this pretty girl. I kicked the shit outta them but when I finished the girl had vanished."
"I see. Just don't get hurt so badly next time. Remember to meet at noon at The Akebeko tomorrow." Karou said leaving. Sanosuke yawned and lay back on his futon. HE thought about the girl. She was beautiful. The fearful look in her eyes made him want to know more about her. Why were they attacking her...and just who was she anyway? Somewhere, lost in thought, Sanosuke fell asleep.
Sano woke the next morning and was bathed and dressed just after Kenshin. He found the former hitokiri starting the laundry. "Your up early Sano, that you are." Kenshin said smiling.
"I guess." Sano said shrugging his shoulders. "I'm still thinking about that girl."
"I think Sano has a crush, that he does." Kenshin said watching his friend blush softly.
"I do not." SAno said acting like a four year old and turned his head away.
"What ever you say Sano." Kenshin said getting up. "I should go wake Miss Karou, that I should."
"You have fun with that." Sano said. "I'm gonna take a walk. Tell the missy I'll meet you at the Akebeko." Sano said waving. He quickly walked the same route he had the previous night. Silently he prayed he would see that girl again. As he was walking he felt someone bump into him. He turned around and, low and behold, there was the girl. "It’s you! You're the girl from last night."
"Sumimasen, gomen nasai. I didn't watch where I was going." She said bowing. "I'm Mina Ukuzoma. Thank you for saving me last night." She said bowing again.
"I'm Sanosuke Sagara. And you’re welcome." Sano said blushing almost noticeably.
"You're very strong. I don't think I would have been able to fend them off myself. Thank you again for saving me." Mina said bowing deeply.
"I'm not that good." Sano said blushing again. "Why don't you come with me? I'm going to meet my friends at the Akebeko."
"Oh! I can't." Mina said bushing. "I'm the new waitress.."
"Oh. Well, uh, I had a few things to ask you so do you mind walking with me?"
"Of course not Sanosuke."
"Well, for starters, why were those men attacking you?"
"Well, I guess it's because I look like a foreigner. I'm from Kyoto, born and raised. My father is from America and my mother Kyoto."
"Ah-ha. When did you get here?"
"Late yesterday morning. I got my job and went looking for a place to stay."
"You have no where to go?"
"Nope." Mina sighed.
"Come stay with me!" Sanosuke suddenly shouted. After the words left his mouth he blushed. "I have a small row house near my friend KArou's dojo. Sometimes I stay there and sometimes in my house, but you can always stick with me." Sanosuke said, as he casually stepped closer to Mina. He watched a cute blush spread across her cheeks.
"That sounds nice, Sanosuke. Are you sure your friend Karou wont mind?" Mina said scooting closer to Sanosuke. She found him to be extremely attractive and incredibly nice.
"I'll bring it up at lunch." Sanosuke said. His eyes discreetly scanned her body. She had beautiful, fair skin and strawberry blonde hair. (More strawberry than blonde) She had light purple eyes and she was remarkably thin. She had a full chest (a/n what a guy...) and she was nearly as tall as he was. Her eyes told him she was enjoying his body visually too.
"Um, are we interrupting?" Karou asked softly. She was walking with Kenshin. YAhiko was already at work.
Sanosuke blushed lightly and cleared throat. "Kenshin, Karou, this is Mina Ukuzoma. She's the girl I was telling you about last night."
"Sano has a good eye, that he does." Kenshin said. "I'm Kenshin Himura, Mina-dono."
"I'm Karou Kamiya." Karou said hugging her.
Mina froze for a second before awkwardly hugging her back. "I wish I could be hugging her like that." Sanosuke thought.
Mina bowed as Karou released her. "It's very nice to meet you. If you will please excuse me I need to go in. I work here." Mina said ducking into The Akebeko.
"YOu do have a good eye Sano." Karou said smiling. "She seems very nice."
"Which brings us to the next topic of discussion.." Sano said as the walked in.
"Uh-oh...what...?"
"She has no where to stay... I invited her to stay with me where ever I end up staying at night."
"Ok.."
"SO is that cool, missy?" Sanosuke asked meekly.
"Yeah that's fine. I'm sure she's a hard worker." Karou said.
"Thank you Karou." Sanosuke said as Tae seated them. He soon caught sight of Mina and his eyes were intent on watching her. Watching her bustle around made her seem like an angel in his eyes.
"Earth to SAno!" Yahiko called waiting for his order.
"Huh? Oh the usual brat." Sano said causally, as if nothing had happened.
"Don't call me a brat!" Yahiko said storming off with their orders. Kenshin simply smiled at Sanosuke and continued his conversation with Karou. When Sanosuke lost sight of Mina his eyes wandered around the restaurant.

Yahiko came with their food and quickly passed it out to them, he was being called by another guest. SAno noticed there was a note discreetly hidden under his bowl.
After the meal Sanosuke wandered around the streets trying to amuse himself till 5 when Mina got off. Which was easier said than done. When finally the time came to pick Mina up, Sanosuke found her outside talking to Tae. Tae saw him and he put a finger to his lips signaling to be quiet. Sanosuke snuck up behind Mina and slid his arms around her. "Hey there pretty lady.." He whispered softly in her ear. As he hugged her he felt her body stiffen but once she realized who it was her body relaxed.
"Hi Sanosuke." Mina said softly as her eyes closed, she was clearly enjoying Sanosuke's embrace.
"You two look so cute like that." Tae said smiling as Mina blushed.
"Let's go find the brat and we can go eat dinner at the dojo." Sano said. Mina nodded and bade goodbye to Tae.
"I think Yahiko is around back Sanosuke." Mina said as they started walking. They walked around the back of the restaurant and were greeted with the sight of YAhiko and little Tsubame making out. Sano heard a soft 'oh my..' come from Mina's mouth. They quickly turned tail and headed for the dojo.
"SO this is... Karou's dojo right?" Mina asked as they neared the dojo entrance.
"Correct. Her father created the Kamiya Kasshin style of swordsmanship." Sano said.
"And Kenshin...he has the cross scar in this cheek, right?" Mina said looking at SAno.
"Yes." Sanosuke said as Mina nodded. He casually slid his arms around Mina shoulders and she blushed. "You, Mina, are too cute."
"Thank you Sanosuke." Mina said blushing more.
"SANOSUKE!" They heard Karou yell.
"Uh-oh, the missy's calling me. I must have done somethin wrong." Sanosuke said grinning sheepishly.
"Sanosuke Sagara, tomorrow you, and only you, are cleaning this dojo." Karou said as they reached the door.
"But what the hell did I do!?!"
"There are fish bones everywhere. Oh! Hi Mina, how are you?"
"I'm fine, thank you." Mina said bowing. She turned to Sanosuke. "Fish..bones?" she asked very confused.
"Yeah," Karou said giggling, "when he finishes a piece of fish he sucks on the bones. You can usually find him with a bony tail hanging out of his mouth." The girls giggled and Sanosuke blushed a pinkish red.
"Ah, Sano, Mina, your back. Dinner is almost done, that it is." Kenshin said opening the door.
Mina bowed. "Hello Kenshin." He quietly smiled and led them inside the dojo. As they walked inside Sanosuke slid his arm around Mina's waist and her hip bumped gently against his. Mina blushed lightly as he led them to their room.
"We'll be sleeping in the same room?" Mina asked, a very small note of concern lacing her voice.
"Yes, unless you're uncomfortable with that. I could bunk with the brat." Sanosuke said.
"Oh, no! It's not that. I have a few brothers in Kyoto so I'm used to being around guys." Mina said still sounding a little uneasy.
"Ok. Don’t worry Mina." Sanosuke said He gently wrapped his arms around her from behind. "I wont try anything, I promise." Sanosuke said very softly in her ear. Mina nodded and blushed at the feelings Sanosuke was sending through her body by a mere touch. Sano gently turned her around and held her close.
"Sanosuke..." Mina mumbled very softly. Said male gently tilted her head up.
"May I?" He asked softly as his callused thumb lightly traced her lower lip. A warm blush coated her cheeks and he eyes looked up at him. She nodded a little. Sano gently captured Mina's lips. A very soft, small squeak of pleasure escaped as Sano's large warm hand rubbed her back gently.
"Mmmn... Sanosuke.." Mina moaned softly. She thoroughly enjoyed the warm hand on her lower back.
"I'm sorry.." Sanosuke said starting to retract his hand.
"No! That was wonderful." Mina said blushing. Very quietly Mina's stomach rumbled.
"How about we go check on dinner, huh?" Sanosuke said softly. He kissed her lips gently again and led her out of the guest room.

'Sano
If it's not too much trouble could you please pick me up when I get off? Miss Tae said I could leave around 5 o'clock.
Arigatou Gozaimasu,

Sanosuke smiled. He could almost see Mina bowing as he read the note. HE smiled gently and continued his lunch. If it's not too much trouble could you please pick me up when I get off? Miss Tae said I could leave around 5 o'clock.
