Throughout the meal, Mina politely conversed with Kenshin and Karou. Sanosuke added in his two cents when he wasn't stuffing his face with Kenshin's cooking. When dinner was done, the adults sat on the porch watching the stars and talking. Mina and Karou sat very close to their men. Discreetly, Mina yawned. Sanosuke noticed and faked his own yawn.

"I think we should turn in Mina." Sanosuke said, really yawning this time. Inside their room Mina found one of KArou's yukata laid out for her. She changed while Sanosuke talked to Kenshin. She jumped a foot when he walked in the door. "You look amazing." Sanosuke said as his eyes scanned her body and slid off his jacket.

Mina blushed at his words and his eyes scanned his very well sculpted body. "Th-Thank you." She slid into bed next to him and left room between them. She was practically on the floor. "Good night Sanosuke." Mina said curling up.

"Good night Mina." Sanosuke said kissing her forehead. She smiled and scooted a little closer.

~Several weeks later~
(This is after we meet Goro Fujita a.k.a Hajime SAito and he and Sano have their fight and he fights Kenshin. This is the night Kenshin leaves)

"Mina!" Sanosuke called as he ran up to the Akebeko. He waved his good arm at her. "Sorry I'm late. Missy held me back."

"It's ok Sano-Kun." Mina said kissing him gently. She looked sadly at the bandaged wound on his shoulder inflicted by Hajime Saito. She had been scared of losing Sanosuke ever since then. "It's alright my bad boy, let's just head home." Mina said clinging to him. Swiftly he picked her up and she blushed. "You shouldn't be doing this, with your still healing shoulder..."

"I'll be fine, so stop worryin." Sano said as a hand gently gravitated down from her back.

"Sano!" Mina said as she blushed and giggled.

"What?" Sanosuke asked innocently. He kissed her cheek as they rounded the corner to the dojo. He set Mina down as they reached the door. "We're here guys!" They called.

"Uncle Sano! Auntie Mina!" Ayame and Suzume cried running up to the young couple.

"Hi there girls." They said, each picking up one. SAno looked over at Mina and smiled at her fondness of the girls.

"Yay! Now you can come play with us." Ayame said. "Auntie Megumi is cooking and Auntie Karou and YAhiko are still training." She said. Very soon after, Sano and Mina were drug inside to play.

After dinner Sanosuke and Mina headed to their room in the dojo. Mina sat on the floor and Sano pulled her between his legs. "Um, Sano-kun...?" Mina asked tentatively.

"Yes Mina-kun?" Sanosuke said, looking up from kissing her neck.

"Will you...uh...Will you tell me about the Sekihoutai." Mina asked quietly.

The room got silent for a moment before Sano spoke. "There's not much to tell. I looked up to Captain Sagara very much. He was like a father. I trusted him...and I believed in him. The whole Sekihoutai was branded as liars because the Meiji government couldn't keep one of their promises. Captain Sagara was beheaded and we were forced to wear the mark of evil on our backs..." Sanosuke said looking off to the side.

"Oh." Mina said very softly, staring blankly at her lap. She subconsciously drew small circles on the large hands the encircled her waist. Very gently Sanosuke took her hands. He turned her so she was sitting sideways on his lap.

"It's ok you asked Mi-kun." Sanosuke said gently. He brought her hands to his lips and kissed them gently. Mina blushed a pretty pink and leaned her head against her shoulder; a soft expression of pain crossed her features. "What's wrong ai?" Sanosuke asked brushing a stray lock of hair off her face.

"Just a headache Sano-kun." Mina said softly. Gently Sanosuke took his hands and began to massage Mina's temples. She froze for a moment and moaned softly. "Mmmn.. Sanosuke.." She moaned softly.

"Why don't we head to my house?" Sanosuke asked softly.

"Ok SAno-kun.." Mina answered softly. She soon found herself swept up in Sanosuke's arms. She clung to him as he walked out to the porch to tell Karou that they were leaving.

"Oh, ok. I hope you feel better Mina." Karou said. She smiled at Sanosuke, seeing the love for Mina in his eyes.

"I'm sure I just need sleep. IT was busy today so it was probably the noise." Mina said softly.

"Sayonara Sano...Sayonara Mina." Karou said waving. Mina waved back and yawned as they left the dojo.
