Caught in the Act
This one-shot has not been beta'd. I wish I had a beta… *smiles and sheepishly rubs back of head*
Summary: Newlyweds are hard-pressed to keep their hands off each other… poor Yahiko wanders upon a life-impressing scene one night. This one-shot is loosely based on the manga, in other words, I do not recognize the Samurai X: Reflection (aka Seisohen) movie. Also, I refuse to recognize Kenshin cutting his hair. Battousai will not emerge in this story, although that side of Kenshin's personality is mentioned in passing… This short story takes place two weeks after Kenshin's and Kaoru's marriage, the night of their return from their honeymoon.
Note: The Japanese language is highly flexible and very beautiful. Although I do love mixing Japanese with English to try to keep the story true, I believe there is a limit which can severely decrease a story's enjoyment factor. I felt it necessary to keep Kenshin's “de gozaru” Kenjougo (polite) language. This story does contain MANY Japanese phrases. I've included a glossary at the end for reference. I apologize to those whom may not enjoy this story due to the intricate language mix.
Disclaimer: I do not own, nor claim to own, any part of Watsuki Nobuhiro-dono's creations.

The chirping cicadas accompanied Yahiko's exhausted yawn as he awoke unexpectedly from his deep slumber. He sat up, an instant headache greeting his quick movement.
“What the hell? Why did I drink so much sake yet again? Damn that “Welcome Back” party. Although it was hilarious to watch Kenshin pass out after chugging down two jugs of sake. He was totally toasted!” An evil snicker escaped Yahiko as he mumbled to himself. He slowly stretched and decided to get a cup of water before going back to sleep. As Yahiko approached the kitchen, he slowed, seeing soft, lantern candlelight emanating from within spilling out into the hallway.
<< Robbers? >> he thought, before his hearing registered strained moans drifting from his intended destination.
<< Kaoru! Is she in trouble again?! >> Yahiko edged up and peeked inside, completely taken aback at what he saw… << Kenshin?! What the hell?!!! >>
Kenshin had Kaoru pinned against the side-wall's counter, the full moonlight washing across his back from the slatted windows. Softly emitted, high-pitched whimpers escaped Kaoru's lips. Kenshin harshly marked her upper body with his lips and teeth, waves of his loose, red hair hiding his mouth against her skin. Although they were both still wearing their yukatas, both yukatas were off their arms and bunched around their waists, rendering them skin-to-skin.
Yahiko blushed to see below their yukata belts; both yukatas were open against each other with Kenshin between Kaoru's legs. His blush deepened as apparently the lovers were far too captivated with each other to notice anything else, including his presence. Yahiko could only gape as he watched Kenshin's hand run up Kaoru's side to her breast, molding it roughly in his palm, as he switched to suckling along the same side of her neck.
Yahiko panicked as Kenshin paused a moment, his hands stilling, before he returned to his ministrations. Kenshin maneuvered Kaoru up onto the short counter, her yukata opening to reveal her legs wrapping around his waist in the moonlight. Unable to look away, Yahiko stared entranced as Kenshin suddenly impaled his hip up into Kaoru's, causing her to yelp lustily. Puzzled, he tried to figure out what Kenshin had done to make Kaoru cry out like that, but Kenshin's yukata conveniently hid their intimate secrets. Astonished shock overtook Yahiko as Kenshin started to viciously pound his hip repeatedly into Kaoru's, brutally jolting her body up and down. Yahiko was mesmerized as her breasts bounced savagely, her fingernails leaving long welts across Kenshin's back and shoulders. She gasped trying to bring air into her starved lungs, unable to keep up with Kenshin's ferocious thrusts. Anger instantly engulfed Yahiko at this incomparable betrayal. His protective instinct kicked in and he stepped forward to stop Kenshin from further hurting Kaoru.
Without warning, Yahiko was incapacitated as a set of brightly small, piercing amethyst knives overwhelmed him from beneath the ever-flowing red darkness. Kenshin hypnotized Yahiko in place with his terrifying gaze as he continued to ravage Kaoru. Yahiko struggled to draw breath back into his lungs, fighting against Kenshin's powerful blast of warning kenki. For a tense moment, they stared each other down. Yahiko's demeanor changed as he decisively prepared to take on Kenshin in an obviously hopeless battle. Kenshin narrowed his eyes and became motionless, making Yahiko hesitate. Kenshin blinked surrendering their mental war and nuzzled his face into Kaoru's neck. Yahiko froze flabbergasted as Kenshin remained that way, breathing hard against her for an endless minute before she whimpered, almost sobbing.
“Kenshin, don't stop, please, I need you,” she whispered pleadingly. Yahiko silently gasped. Kenshin hugged Kaoru tightly to himself. He looked back up to Yahiko; his eyes softened back their normally large, dark violet hue. Kenshin held Yahiko's gaze as he lovingly kissed his way down to Kaoru's shoulder. Yahiko swallowed as he took a step back from that penetrating stare.
“Kenshin…” Tears cascaded softly down Kaoru's cheeks, in pain not from what Kenshin was doing, but in pain because he had stopped. It was clear to Yahiko now; whatever was Kenshin's highly unusual display of violence, Kaoru had been a willing participant. Yahiko breathed deeply and nodded to Kenshin, stepping down from his silent challenge.
“Kaoru…” Kenshin whispered huskily, his eyes returning to refuge under his bangs. He pulled back his hip, and slammed forcefully into Kaoru. His movements quickly resumed their intensity, Kaoru's cries slowly growing louder and higher. She soon bucked her hip back into Kenshin's as he turned to ravish her mouth, his hands possessively claiming her exposed skin.
Unexpectedly, Kaoru leaned back on her hands on the counter, her long, raven hair pooling around her hands, giving Kenshin a beautiful profile of her ecstasy. He leaned down and harshly bit a nipple, then kissed and suckled the pain away. Kaoru collapsed until her shoulders had crashed onto the counter, arching her back. Kenshin grabbed her wrists in his left hand and pulled them under her, holding them tightly to the small of her back, arching her further. He bruisingly crushed her hip with his right hand. Kenshin leaned over her imposingly, suddenly releasing his kenki in a violent wave over Kaoru. Too far away for him to kiss her silent, she screamed his name as her body convulsed from her spectacular orgasm, promptly passing out cold. Kenshin trembled visibly as he continued his assault, abruptly stilling when he roared Kaoru's name in his own phenomenal release. Yahiko, and all the loose items in the kitchen caught in the whirlwind, were buffeted when Kenshin's uncontrolled kenki exploded, resulting in a terrific clattering mess. Kenshin collapsed on top of Kaoru, gasping as if he'd just been in a harsh battle. When Kenshin didn't move, Yahiko stepped closer. He realized Kenshin had also lost consciousness, his lungs still begging desperately for air. Reason finally overriding stupor, Yahiko came back to his senses and hastily retreated to his room, sleep evading him for the rest of the night…

“I'm off to give lessons! Yahiko, make sure the bath is ready when I get back, ok?” Kaoru yelled out as she made her way to the front gate. Yahiko, sitting on the porch deep in thought, didn't notice the incoming bokken until it collided with is head…
“What the hell was that for, busu?!!!” he angrily retaliated.
“Who the hell are you calling busu, Yahiko-chan?!!!” she retorted.
“Don't call me -chan, busu!!!” Yahiko bellowed.
“Maa maa, you'll be late for giving your lessons, Kaoru-dono,” Kenshin interrupted their argument, doggedly dragging himself out of the house with a load of laundry. Kenshin yawned unintentionally and Kaoru covered his mouth with her hand for him as his own were full.
“Arigatou, Kaoru-dono,” he smiled, and then yawned again. Kaoru giggled and attached herself to one of Kenshin's arms, much to his exhausted chagrin.
“Kenshin, why don't you forget the laundry for today and go back to bed? I knooooow you're wiped out from yesterday's… events,” she winked at him suggestively. Yahiko snickered at poor Kenshin's dilemma.
“Kaoru-dono, please let go of me, de gozaru,” Kenshin blushed to his roots as he uselessly chastised her. He was abnormally too slow to escape as she threw her arms around his shoulders and kissed him.
“Kenshin, you're too cute when you blush!” She tweaked his nose, teasing him mercilessly.
“MAA Kaaaoooru…!” Kenshin stuttered bashfully. Kaoru rushed away ignoring Kenshin's complaint. Yahiko guffawed mercilessly.
“That's the only way for you to catch Kenshin, busu, when he's suffering a wicked hangover and can barely move, muah ha ha ha haaaaa!” Kenshin laughed with Yahiko until he observed the volcano that was his sweet wife about to erupt.
“Kaoru-dono, the lessons...” he meekly reminded her. He sweat-dropped as the fire changed to his direction, exhaling and dropping his head in relief as it quickly redirected back to Yahiko.
“Yahiko, your chores had BETTER be done before I return!” Kaoru huffed at Yahiko on her way out of the gate, getting in the last word to both men. Yahiko snarled where he sat. Kenshin yawned tiredly, shaking his head at the normal commotion. Yahiko looked up at his hero; Kenshin drowsily headed to the washtub.
Yahiko wondered what he should do. He knew Kenshin and Kaoru were deeply in love with each other. The ex-hitokiri's risked his life to save hers on countless occasions; he would never do anything to hurt her. He studied Kenshin sorting the laundry, deciding to avoid the matter altogether and prepare the bath for Kaoru.
“Yahiko,” Kenshin called out just as Yahiko passed him. Yahiko turned around, surprised to see Kenshin's hands were still dry… Kenshin had pretended to start scrubbing the laundry.
“Kenshin?” Yahiko questioned uneasily. Kenshin smiled knowing Yahiko had noticed his deception.
“Your perception has become quite keen over this past year, hasn't it, Yahiko?” Kenshin smiled as he stood up.
“Can't help it after hanging around with troublemakers like you and Sanosuke for so long,” Yahiko joked cautiously. Kenshin sighed heavily at Yahiko's unusual wariness, unconsciously yawning again.
“Kaoru-dono won't be back until dinner today, de gozaru. Let's have a cup of tea together, de gozaru,” Kenshin said as he turned toward the house, giving Yahiko no room for debate. Kenshin remained quiet as he brewed tea for them, setting a cup in front of Yahiko and sat comfortably across from him. Yahiko watched as Kenshin closed his eyes and sipped the tea pensively. He couldn't figure out how to reconcile the typically kind and docile Kenshin sitting in front of him, with the ruthless Kenshin he'd witnessed the night before. Kenshin yawned obliviously, deceptively unaware of his surroundings though Yahiko knew better. He opened one eye to Yahiko.
“Aren't you going to have any, Yahiko?” Kenshin asked softly. Yahiko jumped, grabbed the teacup, and forgot to blow on it before drinking…
“Itai!” Kenshin chuckled as Yahiko nursed his burnt tongue.
“Mou, Kenshin, it's not funny!” Yahiko pouted.
“Sou ka, de gozaru?” Kenshin laughed. Yahiko took a deep breath, unable to keep from smiling at Kenshin's usual comical antics. He blew on his tea before sipping it this time. They remained quiet, slowly savoring the tea, enjoying the day's serenity. However, Yahiko began to slowly grow nervous as the silence continued.
“Ano… Kenshin?” Yahiko furiously blushed when Kenshin looked seriously at him.
“Yahiko, this is a strange role for me as well, de gozaru… However, it would seem that I am the one most appropriate to talk with you about sex.” Yahiko's blush increased significantly. Kenshin observed his reactions carefully. “However, I am not sure how to proceed, so I believe it's best if you ask me questions, de gozaru.” Yahiko tried to contain his embarrassment of the situation and look seriously at Kenshin.
“Last night, you were… vicious…” Yahiko swallowed and tried to start again, “Kaoru wasn't… hurt… was she?” Yahiko asked tentatively.
“Hurt, no… but definitely sore… I know I wasn't exactly gentle last night. I doubt she'll leave me in such an aroused state again without finishing what she starts, de gozaru...” Kenshin smirked at Yahiko's stunned expression, “then again considering how much she enjoyed herself last night, I wouldn't be surprised at a repeat performance, de gozaru.” Kenshin chuckled reflecting on the previous night's exertions.
“You mean, Kaoru started all that?”
“Hai. Kaoru took advantage of my drunken slumber, de gozaru. By the time I woke up, I was hopelessly aroused. After that, she decided she was thirsty and left for a cup of water. I pursued her to the kitchen, intending to deal… punishment... for daring to leave me in such a state, de gozaru,” Kenshin calmly sipped more tea, his eyes closed serenely.
“Punishment?!” Yahiko exclaimed.
“Hai, de gozaru. You witnessed it personally, remember?” Kenshin opened one eye and smirked at Yahiko. Yahiko paled at the memory. Permanently blushing, he sipped his tea, trying to think of what to say next.
“Kenshin, are you angry with me?” Yahiko asked glumly.
“Considering your sexual innocence, it's not surprising that you thought I was attacking Kaoru, de gozaru,” Kenshin answered seriously, then continued smiling.
“I think it was honorable of you to challenge me last night, especially aware you were facing a losing battle, de gozaru,” Kenshin's smile faded, “Also, I was not completely in control of myself since I was still very drunk, so I had the frightening chance of accidentally hurting you, had you charged forward as you were about to do,” Kenshin reflectively indulged more tea.
“Kenshin… I've never seen you so… violent… outside of battle… almost like you'd released the Battousai… but on Kaoru…” Yahiko stammered.
“Maa maa, I can't keep Battousai locked up forever; that's unhealthy, de gozaru. I'm happy I finally found a positive release for my dark side, de gozaru,” Kenshin beamed happily at Yahiko's blanched expression.
“So then, you were Battousai last night?”
“No, never again will Battousai completely surface… but it was pleasantly close enough, de gozaru!” Kenshin chirped cheerily, drinking more tea.
“Pleasantly?! Kenshin, you just put Battousai and pleasantly in the same sentence! Have you gone mad since you married that busu?!” Yahiko squawked. Kenshin's eyes narrowed angrily. Yahiko sweat-dropped and gulped down his mistaken choice of words.
“Uhhh, hehe, I meant to say Kaoru, not busu, hehe, what was I thinking, hehe hehe?” Yahiko lowered his eyes when Kenshin grimaced at him for a moment, before another yawn took over. Kenshin closed his eyes and shook his head.
“Nervousness tends to make one's throat dry, Yahiko. Try drinking more tea, de gozaru.” Yahiko snapped up to face Kenshin's customary kind smile. Yahiko stared down at his own tea, unable to control his blush.
“Because you… used???... Battousai… is that why didn't you stop?” Yahiko whispered. Kenshin took a deep breath, as Yahiko worriedly waited.
“That was not mostly Battousai you witnessed last night… that… passion… was all me,” Kenshin blushed madly, “and I didn't stop for a few reasons …” Kenshin began slowly.
“One, Kaoru would've killed you if she knew you'd seen her unclothed AND during an intimate session, de gozaru,” Kenshin said. Yahiko guffawed.
“Who the hell wants to see busu naked anyway?” Kenshin leered and cocked an eyebrow up in amusement; Yahiko's laughter increasing as he stared at exactly whom indeed. Kenshin snickered at their little joke.
“Guilty as charged, de gozaru. Next question, Yahiko, how would YOU have reacted had we stopped right then and there, de gozaru?” Yahiko sipped some tea as he carefully considered what his reaction might have been.
“Embarrassed… Ashamed… mostly ashamed, because I couldn't pull myself away from watching once I realized you weren't hurting her. It was like there was an internal battle within me… my head kept telling me to leave, but my body wouldn't move.”
“Those are mature feelings, de gozaru,” Kenshin replied, closing his eyes in thought. Yahiko sighed in relief.
“My ultimate reason for not stopping was due to my own weak internal battle, de gozaru. My head told me to stop, however my body disagreed and easily vanquished all thoughts of stopping, de gozaru.” Yahiko gaped at Kenshin, as the other took another taste of tea, before opening his eyes and winking at Yahiko.
“Ke-Kenshin… YOU?... couldn't stop your body? But you have perfect control!” Yahiko sputtered unbelievingly. Kenshin laughed.
“More accurately, I couldn't control my desire, especially since you caught us so near to our completion,” Kenshin amended sheepishly. “I wonder if you'll be able to lose that blush, Yahiko. It seems permanent, de gozaru,” Kenshin joked. Blushing profusely, Yahiko quickly found his tea extremely interesting.
“Kenshin no baka,” Yahiko gave a friendly growl, and gulped down the rest of his tea. Kenshin chuckled bemusedly and finished his own tea. They put down their cups and faced each other. Yahiko took another deep breath.
“Kenshin, how did you know?... I mean, how did you learn... for… sex, that is… what to do?” Kenshin's smile faded away.
“With Tomoe,” Kenshin answered gently. Yahiko heard the infinite sadness in Kenshin's answer and tried to stop where the conversation was heading...
“Kenshin…”
“Daijoubu, de gozaru. Being together like that with Tomoe, were some of our happiest moments, albeit the few happy moments we had the chance to share,” Kenshin took a few deep breaths, centering himself.
“Kenshin…” Yahiko hurt seeing Kenshin's pained thoughts.
“Yahiko, I have only ever been with two women in my life… Tomoe and Kaoru...” Kenshin smiled at his next thought out loud, “Tomoe and I were both innocent our first time together, de gozaru.”
“I doubt you had time to think of anything else, outside of your assassination assignments?” Yahiko uttered aloud, lost in his own thoughts.
“That's true… from training with my master, straight to the war front; there was no time for me to think of anything save improving my skills to ensure the Ishin Shishi's victory, de gozaru. Tomoe is the one whom rescued me from the madness of being a hitokiri; she taught me the true reason I should be fighting, de gozaru.”
“To give everyone the ability for seeking their own happiness, without being hindered by rank or class,” Yahiko said.
“More than that, to protect everyone's happiness… Without knowing it, I had stolen Tomoe's happiness when I assassinated her fiancee, Kiyosato Akira. The night before I kill… that final night with Tomoe… I made an oath to her which I continue to uphold. I will protect the happiness she once lost, de gozaru,” Kenshin sighed deeply. Yahiko poured more tea for them both.
“But Kenshin, how could you protect Kiyosato-san if you had already killed him?” Yahiko asked.
“No, that's too literal, Yahiko. She was happy before his death and I believe that, deep in my heart, her happiness reawakened with me, de gozaru. I have to believe that, otherwise her death makes no sense... besides that, she smiled for me before we rescued Kaoru from Enishi,” Kenshin exhaled, his eyes blearily staring at the wall, “Gomen, Yahiko, I'm rambling, de gozaru.” Yahiko smiled.
“It seems I'm still too young to understand most of what you try to teach me…” Yahiko contemplated. Kenshin beamed at Yahiko's maturity.
“Arigatou, Kenshin,” Yahiko said. Kenshin's eyes widened in surprise.
“Oro?”
“I'm honored that you think of me as one of your closest friends. It makes me happy to know you feel comfortable confiding in me as an adult, an equal, even though I'm still just a kid.” Kenshin smiled.
“Kenshin, I wanna grow up to be just like you!” Yahiko declared enthusiastically. Kenshin immediately frowned.
“Yahiko, I'm a very poor role-model...”
“I don't care that you were the Hitokiri Battousai! To me, you are Himura Kenshin, the man who selflessly sacrifices himself time and again to save countless lives, including mine. Anyone would be crazy to NOT idolize you!” Yahiko expressed emphatically. Kenshin blushed, then sighed resigned, which led to another irregular yawn.
“Yareyare, it would seem I'm unable to sway your heart, de gozaru,” Kenshin smiled warm-heartedly. They stayed quiet for a while as they continued to sip tea.
“But Kenshin, how did you and Tomoe know what to do?” Yahiko asked thoughtfully.
“We didn't… trial-and-error was our teacher,” Kenshin looked thoughtfully at Yahiko.
“I know that one day, things will become more serious between Tsubame-dono and yourself, de gozaru…” Kenshin continued as Yahiko's blush re-blossomed, “so I want you to know you can ask me anything… to protect her happiness.” Yahiko studied his tea thoughtfully.
“At first, I thought Kaoru was in pain… but then, I noticed she was really enjoying herself… and you were as well… how do you know, how to give pleasure… without causing pain? I mean, women only want kindness, right?” Yahiko questioned slowly. Kenshin chuckled.
“So they claim, but it's partially not true. You follow your heart; it tells you what to do, as long as you listen, de gozaru,” Kenshin answered quietly.
“Follow my heart?” Yahiko whispered to himself.
“Yahiko.” Yahiko looked up to see Kenshin suddenly serious.
“There is only one request I have of you, de gozaru. Wait four more years until you're 15 before proposing to Tsubame-dono, ok?” Kenshin requested seriously. Yahiko sat up stiffly with shock, then grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head.
“Kenshin no baka, you're sounding like a father,” he answered cheekily. Kenshin chuckled and finished his tea. He placed their teacups and plates on the serving tray, swaying slightly as he stood up, and started toward the kitchen. Yahiko watched him concerned.
“Kenshin.” Kenshin stopped and turned around.
“Mou, Kenshin, when did you last sleep?” Yahiko questioned.
“Oro? Hmmm, I took a quick nap the day before yesterday…” Kenshin said thoughtfully.
“On top of that, you downed two jugs of sake, and you didn't get any sleep at all last night, did you?! You look pathetic right now. Nevermind, I'll do the laundry for you. You should get some sleep.” Yahiko got up and smoothed down his hakama.
“Yahiko…?” Kenshin sputtered surprised.
“Kenshin no baka! How do you expect to keep up with Kaoru if you get no rest at all?! It's not like you're facing off against some badass guy again! Che, you're making me tired just looking at you yawn like that… baka! Go to bed!” Yahiko scolded Kenshin.
“Oro?!” Kenshin blinked owlishly. Yahiko shoved Kenshin into the hallway.
“But Yahiko, I thought I was supposed to be the father-figure here, de gozaru?” Kenshin joked sheepishly. Yahiko huffed and turned around to head back outside, not seeing Kenshin's smile at him. Yahiko stopped on his way and ran back to the hallway.
“Hey Kenshin!”
“Hmm?” Kenshin turned around.
“Does this mean you two will continue messing around in the kitchen?” Yahiko teased. Kenshin blushed rosily before a mischievous twinkle appeared in his eyes.
“You never know…” he replied wistfully and entered the kitchen. Yahiko grinned towards where his idol had disappeared.
“Hmmm, you never know…” Yahiko repeated to himself amused. Yahiko walked to the outside sliding door and stepped out into the welcoming the sunlight.
