Author's note: Okay…Kaoru finally figured out that she is worth protecting. She understood that Kenshin really stayed there for her purposes, this includes her laundry, cooking, the whole nine yards. Well, Kenshin is still the battousai and wants Kaoru physically. I made him the jealous-possessive type of guy cause I think that's sexy. Feeling wanted, belonging to someone, never leaving the site of a possessive lover, doesn't that send chills down one's spine? That type of adrenalin is a necessary…hehehe! Anyways…see what happens when Kaoru thinks the previous night was just a flaw and that Kenshin was acting out of proportion. The dream isn't over, yet who the hell said it was a dream? Visions. Take that word into consideration, ayte!

Chapter 3

Visions

Waking to the beautiful song of a mocking bird, Kenshin opened his weary eyes and scoped the area. A delicate ray of sunlight passed through the window and emitted a small amount of golden color into the room. Everything was left in its place, the futon, the door half open, and Kenshin. He looked around for any evidence of Kaoru's return after their little rendezvous. Nothing was present. He reached for his sword and gripped the sheath with stress. Next time…I'm going to devour you, Kaoru.

Kenshin got up on his feet and exited the desolate room. His violet eyes were now a deep amber color. He walked stealthily through the dojo halls with his sandals barely leaving a trace of sound occurring by his daunt footsteps. When he reached the kitchen Sano caught a glimpse of Kenshin from the corner of his eye.

"Kenshin. There ya are! Where have you been all night? The little missy seemed to be disturbed yesterday."

Kenshin didn't respond. He unknowingly scowled at Sanosuke's remark and walked toward the door. "At least answer Kenshin." Sano blurted out awaiting some sort of reply. With his head bowed just a bit toward the ground, Kenshin faced Sano with red-flaming bangs clinging over his eyes. He took two steps forward to Sano and stood in silence. Sano squinted his brow in confusion. "What's the matter? The little miss got your tongue?" He laughed.

"As a matter of fact, she could have gotten more than that. Where is my Kaoru?" Kenshin heaved with a low growl.

"Your Kaoru? Since when did she become yours to own. She's not some toy. What's gotten in to you. You're not yourself today."

Kenshin met Sano's dark brown eyes with a cold stare. Sano backed up a few feet, placing one step behind the other, until his back was against the wall. Kenshin's eyes narrowed. He gripped the hilt of his reverse-blade sword and stalked the terrified man.

"Who are you to say what's mine and what's not? Have you no fear for your life? I have no interest in the likes of you. However, if you ever come across my woman and dare to touch her, or even look at her, your blood shall be mine to spill." Kenshin let the words trail out of his lips as a command rather than a threat.

The once wandering swordsman, now the battousai, turned his back on Sano once more and headed out of the kitchen. Sano dropped to the floor appalled at what just happened between him and the hitokiri part of Kenshin. Damn, I've seen him as the battousai when he fought for his life. But now? He's the battousai once again? What the hell happened to him? What about the little miss, she can't bare to look at Kenshin as a manslayer. Those eyes, she probably seen them last night. Maybe that's the reason for her tears.

Kenshin stepped out onto the porch to watch a young spiky-haired boy practicing with a traditional Japanese wooden sword; a bokken. Facing a tree that held a board of wood that acted as the opponent, Yahiko stammered over the grass and attacked. He panted heavily and continued his fighting stance. Kenshin watched on and smirked. His attention was caught when the little boy shrieked out for his teacher's name. "Hey Kaoru, I'm finished for the day. I'm headed off to the Akabeko to help Tsubame!"

"Okay Yahiko. By the way, can you pick up some food when you get home. I need some tofu. Be home by dinner time. Kenshin's going to cook a good feast for us all." The young raven-haired girl replied with enthusiasm. She watched Yahiko leave through the dojo gates and smiled walking back to the porch.

When she turned the corner, Kaoru froze in silence. Kenshin stood on the porch eying her with lust. He gripped the sheath of his sword and walked toward her. She panicked and began to back away slowly. Kenshin commanded her body to not take another step further with a death stare. She stopped. "Kaoru." Kenshin commanded. He didn't say my name with formalities.

"Kenshin, what happened to you? Your eyes…they're amber. And what do you want from me?"

"I want what you want."

"What do you mean `what I want?'"

"Kaoru, don't ever walk out on me like that again. Do you hear me? Your mine and what I do to you is between us. No one can stop that." He scoffed undressing his sword from its wooden clothing. Kaoru focused on the sword. She watched it's movements as Kenshin raised it toward her kimono, never taking his eyes off of her.

"What are you doing Kenshin?"

The metallic blade touched the sheer skin of Kaoru's neck as goose bumps overcrowded her. Kenshin gently flipped the blade and feathered it around her lapel. He walked up to her closer than ever, merely inches away from the trembling body. He allowed his eyes to trail down from her face to her body, where he gazed at Kaoru hungrily. Kaoru fell to the floor, terrified. Kenshin brought his sword to the ribbon that harnessed her kimono, and with its blade, sliced it open. "Kenshin… please. Don't." She protested in a small whimper.

"Don't what Kaoru? Don't… stop?" He asked desirably.

"Sir Ken, where are you?" A shrilled voice came out of nowhere. Megumi had just finished tending to her patients and decided to come to the Kamiya Dojo, in search of Kenshin. "Oh my…" the fox yelled. "What's going on here Kenshin? You and that raccoon girl are finally hitting it off I see. She's just a little child, go to a real women." Megumi remarked with jealousy.

Kenshin ignored the arrogant lady and decided to let Kaoru be. There was too much occurring at one time for him to carry out his desires. He picked up Kaoru and walked her back to the dojo. Megumi began to chase after the two and then Sano stopped her dead in her tracks. Kenshin slammed the door behind him and headed for the hall. He walked into Kaoru's room and placed her on her bed.

"Go to sleep." He commanded huskily.

"But why?"

"There's no need to ask. That was an order. You were crying too much to let such nonsense pass you by. If you decide not to sleep Kaoru, I'll make you."

"I don't understand. What happened to you?"

Kenshin eyed her to stop questioning him. He clenched his teeth together and cursed himself for not carrying out his intentions. Damn you girl, how much longer do I have to wait. Kenshin peered over his shoulder for one last glimpse at Kaoru. He sighed then walked out of her door.

* * *

The beating of Kaoru's heart throbbed rapidly after hours and hours of sleep. A small drop of sweat trickled down her cheek like a snake, finally resting on the shape of her collar bone. She rolled on her side and screamed. Kenshin, who was at the time leaning against the wall with sword at hand, jumped up and placed his ear against the wall. Nothing. He sat back down and slowly drifted off to sleep with one last thought in his mind, Kaoru, stop wasting my time.

Kaoru began to dream.

The sky turned gray in less then an hour. What seemed to be a hot day was now transformed into a day of rain and cold weather. The sand on the dirt road trickled into clumps of mud as water droplets made contact on the earth's surface. The trees in the forest began to wave against the wind in one of nature's dances. The wind howled through the country calling forth the lightning and thunder storms. In the dense woodlands, a sword spilled the blood of another. The red liquid trailed down the sakabatou. The man hiding behind the shadows looked up to the gray sky with amber eyes. His attention was caught with the frantic search of a voice. Footsteps died closer toward his direction as a young girl hesitated before him.

"Kenshin, I found you. Are you okay? I didn't see you at all today and I got worried. I need you at the dojo."

"I'm not going back. I have not the reason to anyways. You wouldn't understand Kaoru, it's just that I went back on my word." He sighed.

"What…" Kaoru asked quizzically. "There's no way you killed someone Kenshin. I know you better than that. You wouldn't turn back to the battousai again. You have no reason for spilling the blood of others. You just couldn't have. And I need you here at the dojo…"

"Stop making things more complicated then they already are. Don't be so fucking stupid. Kaoru, if you think I didn't kill anyone, you are mistaken." He grumbled in a heavy voice.

Kaoru shook her head in disbelief.

"What's the matter Kaoru," Kenshin spoke in a threatening manner. "You suddenly don't believe me. Have you forgotten that you belong to me and you still question my authority. We're going home now."

"But the rain is getting heavier. We might as well stay sheltered under some tree or cavern."

Kaoru's little challenge bolted a deep rage within himself and Kenshin headed to Kaoru. He gave her a cold look to intimidate her. She merely looked into his eyes. They were telling her to never question his supremacy and to follow what he says. He picked up Kaoru and forced his way with her in his arms back home.

Kenshin closed the dojo gates behind him and entered their house. He still held Kaoru in his arms as she tried to free herself. Kenshin gritted his teeth and held on tighter. Kaoru grimaced at him with a sour look on her face. She lifted up her hand to smack Kenshin, and with his god-like speed he dodged it. He grabbed her free hand and held it gently yet firm. He stared at her as she scowled at him. He took her hand and brushed his dry lips on the back of her palm. Suddenly Kaoru stopped with her struggling. She looked at him with puzzling eyes. Kenshin looked back at her. His face leaned into hers. With lips merely an inch away, he pressed his onto hers, slowly. Kaoru responded to his actions and only made Kenshin feel the need to release his emotions. He thrushed his tongue between her lips and began to search for hers. Kaoru made an attempt to pull back but Kenshin dropped her and wrapped his arms around her possessively. He forced her near his body, feeling his palms hover around both side of her hips. With lips intertwined, Kenshin finally let up after several minutes.

"Kaoru, you're going to stay with me tonight. Escape will be futile. Today you become a part of me, as I to you."

With those last words said in her dreams, Kaoru woke up sweating. It felt more real than a dream would have ever. She turned on her side and tried to calm her self. After a few minutes, she drifted back to sleep.

Author's note: Damn that Kenshin, talk about violent passion. It was just a dream. Wait up though, VISIONS is the title of the story. Time to think twice about the title and Kaoru's situation. That dream wasn't really a dream was it? Psychic powers is it? Is it a warning of what Kenshin is going to do? Or is it her conscience trying to depict what she really wants from Kenshin? Ahhh… I can't tell your asses at this point. I'm going to keep writing and you got to keep reading!
