The couple walked in a comfortable silence, as they each watched the sky.

“It is a beautiful night, isn't Kenshin?”

“That it is, but I wonder how Sano id fairing back at the house, with the enraged doctor, and the sick kid. It must be a comical site.” He replied humorously.

“Yeah,” Kaoru giggled, obviously imagining the scene as well.

They made there way to the market; most of the small stalls and stands already closed. They approached the bedding one, just in time before closing, “What can I do for you today?” The old woman at the stand said in a rehearsed voice.

“Just a pair of regular sized sheets, please.” Kaoru responded in a sugary voice.

”Ay, a pair of sheets.” The old woman echoed. She ran into the back of the stand, and pulled out a bundle that looked as if it had been squashed down, almost paper-thin.

“Thank you, how much would that be?” Kenshin said, trying to assist Kaoru in the purchase.

“That is the last one, and we get new ones tomorrow, go ahead and keep that one, on the house.”

“We graciously accept your offer, if there is anything we can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask us.” Kaoru replies in a secretary-like voice.

“Have a nice night, young ones.” The woman said, relieved the finally be able to close down the shop for the night.

Kenshin started to walk back, Kaoru trailing at his heels, when he suddenly stopped, causing Kaoru to bump into his back.

“What?!” Kaoru yelled, clearly annoyed with his actions.

“Did that old woman have a sword on her kimono?”

“I don't think so, why?”

“Okay, just checking.”

“What ever”

They walked at each other's side now, Kaoru being careful of not bumping into anything or more specifically, anyone. The dojo was in sight now.

A large rock flew by Kenshin's head; he ducked in the nick of time.

“ORO?!”

A gruff voice responded, “I have found you, Battousai.”
