Chapter 1
Nostrils flared as he faced the wind and picked up a scent of a deer to the North of him. The sound of snapping twigs became the war drum to fuel the excitement and bloodlust that coursed through his veins at the thought of a hunt. Racing forward Kenshin's feet pounded on the ground and the prey barely had a chance to flinch before it was taken down, pain searing through its neck. Kenshin watched in satisfaction as eyes rolled to the back of its head and eventually its chest stopped stirring. Leaning down he grasped the deer's neck in between his strong bloody jaws. Blowing air through his nose he thought about the fact that he had moved a long ways away from the packs home and now he would be obligated to carry the fresh meat back, shrugging as best as a wolf could he started back.

The jeep bounced along treacherously on the steep road that currently was running through the beautiful terrain of Transylvania. The silence was intense as 10 pairs of eyes flickered a golden color in the inky darkness then changed back to the original base color. Finally having enough of the quiet a man pulled out a long white cigarette and popped it into his mouth and lit it before giving it a long puff all the while staring at the brim of the immense hat that man in the far corner of the jeep was wearing. “Hey,” he called out towards the hatter, and watched drunkenly as the anomaly didn't as much twitch in response. “Hey! I'm talking to you asshole with the hat,” he said again, voice rising with every word, “What you think your so great that you can't even answer me?”
The eyes widened on each person as suddenly the man that was talking was thrown over the side of the jeep most certainly falling to his death into the jagged cliff below. No flash, No blur could have been seen. But each person knew who had done it. The sky rumbled as though frightened of what hell had spawned. Drops of rain fell and a sense of foreboding washed over the bodies in the jeep. The sky wept tears of sadness for what destiny had set in motion.

Warm water seeped through the flame red top coat of the lone wolf walking through the undergrowth. Kenshin lay down in the wet mud of the outskirts of the packs den. Pairs of eyes turned in his direction. It didn't matter it had that way ever since he showed up dragging his bruised and beat up body from the forest, very unusual wounds inflicted from what he didn't know. Actually he didn't remember anything before that day all he could remember was his name and how to hunt and a few other things but occasionally things came back to him. The sky rumbled again and wind howled through the trees whispering secrets to him maybe even a name. It was warning a . . . . . destiny. He mumbled under his breath as he was lulled to sleep by the gentle trickle of the rain. He dreamt:

He was looking through someone else's eyes. A hazy human woman stood in before him something furry sifting in her arms. A fuzzy head popped up from the crock of her arm. She squealed and her mouthed moved but no sounds came out. Then she cuddled it to her chest and he felt extreme jealously towards the dog. Why couldn't he be held like that? She said something else and her face colored prettily. He could feel his inner beast purr in satisfaction, this woman . . . . . . This woman was. . . .

Suddenly he was snapped out his dream and the word died on his tongue. Battousaui's eyes turned to the sky that was overcast but had stopped raining. His thoughts wondered back to his dream he never had liked dogs. They showed the weaker part of the wolf and were tamed to easily. Suddenly his mouth went dry as his nose stung from the exhaust from a . . . . “Car” his mind supplied and the roar of an engine assaulted his ears. Almost on queue the truck, no two, came bursting into the clearing of the wolf's den. Kenshin heard the numerous growls of angry wolves. In two of his heartbeats there was an ear shattering sound and a handful of wolves fell to the ground dead. The remaining wolves rushed forward and a few fell dead and one human fell down twitching. A full out war broke out and blood was splattered everywhere and all Kenshin could do was stand there rooted in his spot confusion capturing his mind and holding him there. Then the scent of the blood hit him hard, caught him and kept hold. The blood coaxed a primal urge of blood lust from him.
Kenshin with his head tossed back and he bayed a feral howl urging the wolves forward and more to come fight. Wolves everywhere came running from the forest in order to obey his command. Kenshin felt his hair rise and hackles stand up his whole body seemed to be lighter and bigger, more blood thirsty. Charging forward he took down the first human in his path, warm blood gushing into his mouth fueling the desire to kill more. .Just how many men were there Kenshin thought watching about 20 non humans slaughter the wolves. Moving on he darted forward to avoid the machine gun they were now shooting at him and brought down the operator. Blood dribbled down his muzzle as he paused to examine the strange human that was taking down wolves with their nails no claws he corrected himself. Their smell was different and they weren't as weak as the other humans he sensed. Suddenly the supposed human stopped and watched in pure satisfaction as the latest wolf he had killed and slid off his nails. Turning around he locked gazes with Kenshin and disappeared only to reappear beside Kenshin. He barely dogged it as the non- human took a swipe at him leaving a long gash running from the bottom of the cheek to the top. Once again the bastard non- human disappeared and gave another gash to the left flank of his side, only to disappear again and appear but this time
Kenshin was ready for it and leapt up and caught the non-human on the neck. Kenshin turned his head up from his latest kill to scan the remaining wolves and humans. While his back was turned he did not see the nails getting ready to be plunged into his chest. His head snapped back just in time to see the black furry body thrust in between the claws and him. The wolf slumped down dead and took the advantage of the man being distracted and Kenshin jumped up and snapped his powerful jaws around the man's slender neck. Kenshin watched as the man twitched and his eyes closed, dead. To distracted he did not see a non human (he decided to call them that) light something and set it upon the numerous piles of bodies. Suddenly a fire danced around his body in a taunting fashion. Their trying to burn to the bodies and the live ones his mind registered.

Silver flashed and he rotated his head to see a non-human walking through orange hues of the now raging fire, a sword in its left hand. With a roar of mad rage the thing charged toward him giving Kenshin another scar over top the one on his cheek at his pitiful attempt to dodge it. The non- human turned around and began an onslaught of attacks causing Kenshin to back up with every step the non-human took in order for him to avoid getting his head looped off. He felt heat prickle at the tip of his tail and hind legs. He was shut in in a ring of fire, one more step back and he'd be burned beyond repair

The non-human swung downward and in a desperate attempt to save his life Kenshin caught the blade between his jaws. The metallic tang of blood filled into his mouth and made him lightheaded as the blade was dug into gums and jaws. He couldn't die now he had to find her. . . . barring down harder he growled in satisfaction as the blade suddenly shattered into pieces. The startled non- human fell down, a look of pure horror glued to its face. Kenshin lifted his head and gave a dry bay to see if any other wolves had survived. No answer. Staggering a bit he broke into a run and leapt through the flames onto the other side. His feet gave out from underneath him and he collapsed. Panting heavily he struggled to his feet; the massive blood loss was getting to his head. He saw spots dance before his eyes as legs carried him to an unknown destination. No longer able to support himself he collapsed a second time this time drifting into a world of dreamless sleep.

Archive 2- Kaoru

Kaoru gave Kinsuki the finger for the second time today the bastard was a fucking pervert kept coming on to her. She stormed away from Kinsuki and thrust open the door to outside so she could take a breather and wouldn't knock the shit of the pervert. Her foot steps slowed as she looked up towards the overcast, and gave a shiver sending goose bumps rippling over her skin.
She had only met Kinsuki at the art store here and thought he was cute and agreed to go on a date with him so she wouldn't have to pay for the paintbrushes she was thinking about buying. Kinsuki ruined the date by grabbing her butt. Looking down she realized she had walked to her car by accident, Yeah right accident my ass. Getting in the car she saw Kinsuki run down the steps of the restaurant, starting up the car she sped past him and flipped him off again. Kaoru's melodic laughter echoed through the car but it immediately died when she rounded the corner near the house, she was renting for the summer, it was black lighted with a beautiful orange red hue of flames.

Heart racing she frantically jumped out of car and raced towards the growing horde of people who stood at the edge of the forest now set upon fire, watching the mad rush of firemen trying to put out the flame. A deep thunder rumbled in the near distance and fat drops of rain fell from the dark clouds immediately dosing the rest of the flames. Many heads turned up wards to greet the falling water but Kaoru's eyes stayed glued to the once burning forest heart beating fast at the experience she just had.
She did not notice the rain until it began to soak her clothes; slowly the crowd began to diminish at the prospect of no more excitement going on. After a few minutes Kaoru was the only one left standing until a fireman started to usher her inside.

Guiding the shocked woman to her house he gave her a goodnight and sauntered to his fire truck. Numbly Kaoru unlocked the door and stepped inside and slipped off her shoes. Walking forward she moved to her room and fell into her bed face forward. Rolling over she stared into the white plastered ceiling. Expelling a breath she listened to bounce across the room and she finally greeted the thoughts that had been rolling around in her mind. Why had the fire affected her so much? It was like something was clawing at her heart begging her to remember something, anything. Rolling to her side she closed her now heavy eyelids and sleep claimed her unaware of the tears rolling down her cheeks. Anything.

Leaning underneath the canopy of the trees Genji was grateful for the large brimmed hat he was currently wearing. Pulling out the cigarette he had swiped early front the jackass who dare challenge him he lit it up and took a drag but immediately spit it out when he tasted the sharp spiciness of the alcohol the fool had consumed. Looking around he watched ashes of dead bodies being pushed around by the strong wind. They had lost the battle but its not like he had bothered to help. It had been a useless battle between a few weres who lost their memories of ever being human and took a permanent wolf form. But there had been a were here he had not expected. Battousai, the word burned his tongue just as the flames had burned the bodies. Getting up from his leaning position he walked into rain he would want to know about this. Oh yes he would.
