“Well don't just stand there Genji enter,” his voice cut through the dark silence of the castle. Cold passive eyes watched as the man known as Genji removed his large brimmed hat in the presence of his lord. “Well what of the battle,” He inquired. Genji sunk low to the floor before answering clothes making a wet slopping sound against the dark dingy tiles on the frozen floor. “My master the rouge weres were stronger than we had intended and both sides were defeated. . . .”
“Expect you Genji,” the shadowed man finished. Genji took a calming breath listening to it echo on the walls. He could smell his own fear, “Yes, Sssir.” The shadowed man crossed the floor to Genji in a few steps.
Suddenly struggling against a hand Genji was hefted off his knees, feet dangling inches from the floor. He gasped for air in order to survive the death grip that had been incased around his neck. “Genji I hate failure and you want to know what I hate more than that? Incompetent fools who can't even complete a simple a mission,” the shadowed man said surprisingly calm and punctuating each of his words by tightening his grip.
“Sssir please . . . . I hhhave important. . . . imformation,”Genji managed to barely gasp out. Cold dead eyes bore into his weighing his options: kill Genji or listen to the information he had. After a tense pause the shadow man released his grip. He watched Genji crumple to the floor like a rag, walking back to his seat he sat down and watched Genji regain his bearings. “My master there was a were there was not one of the rouges . . . . Battousai.” Genji curled into a tighter ball from his position expecting for his master to finish him off. “Ahhhh, I see He's back,' the shadow figure contemplated in silence before resuming the conversation once more, “Genji get up I have another mission for you.” Madness laced his voice, only the strong survive.

Golden eyes watched as rain pelted the glass plane, the only thing protecting him from the cruel storm raging outside. He barely flinched when he felt breath brush against the shell of his ear. “Hmmm, Sano do you feel it?” the feminine voice beside him asked. Megumi. “Yes, if you mean the feeling of his awakening,”Sano replied eyes shifting to watch the reflection of his soon to be mate is she kept tempting him like she did. “When do you think we should try to look for him?” Megumi pressed when Sano did not elaborate on the subject further. It was a second before Sano answered, “I think he will find will us then he will search for her.” Completing his final sentence Sano removed himself from his position in front of the window. “Come on I think we should tell Aoshi and Misao to prepare a room well be expecting visitors,” Sano coaxed to Megumi who immediately followed. Who stopped to look at the window before following Sanouske, Kaoru when will you come back to us? was the thought that remained in her head

A dull sunlight streamed through the half open blinds and immediately roused the only occupant in the house. Kaoru rolled over and her eyes snapped open. Gently lifting herself up Kaoru began to make her way to the bathroom just down the hall. Pushing open the door she stopped in front of the mirror when she noticed the slight puffiness and redness of her eyes. Was I crying last night? Slipping out of her clothes she turned on the water and stepped into the shower allowing the warm water to loosen the knots in her back. After about thirty minutes she stepped out of the shower and pulled on the pair of sweat pants and t-shirt she brought into the bathroom. Getting dressed she opened the door and watched to steam unfurl like a lazy tiger. Seating her self on the cloth couch placed directly in the center of the floor. She ignored the pain of hunger gnawing at her stomach. Looking around for something to do her eyes immediately locked with the sketch book she had dumped in the far corner of the room. In a few seconds she had picked up the sketch book and proceeded outside into the remnants of the burned forest. Black scorch marks covered the few remaining trees the fire had not consumed. Ashes dusted around her face causing her to break into a spasm of coughs. Kaoru continued onward listening to the eerie silence that seemed to surround her. Her fingers brushed across the lines through the bark on the tree. I tune entered her head and she comforted herself by humming it to herself underneath her breath. She stopped and the tune died on her tongue.

She rushed down the hill hair flaring out behind her heart racing not just from the short run. Skidding to a halt she stopped in front of a furry body. Leaning down she gave a sharp tug and the body rolled over a gruesome sight met her eyes. Blood was matted into its fur and a cross shaped scar stood prominent against the blood red of its fur. Looking down her eyes immediately snapped back up at least I know it's a boy now. Shaking her head Kaoru scowled at herself to focus. Placing a hand on the bleeding wound she looked around to see if anyone was miraculously in the forest. “Is anyone here?' the reply she got was the sound of her own voice coming back to her, mockingly. Rocking back and forth on her heels she felt her hand slip from the wound and she repressed a shudder when she felt the slickness of the blood slip between her fingers. Blood soaked through her clothes, fire consumed her. A scream filled up in her throat and she forced it back. Trembling she remerged from the dream like state she had slipped in. She had focus on the task at hand .At a lost Kaoru leaned further down and hefted the furry body over her shoulder staggering to her feet. She tripped and took a couple of uneasy steps forward. Huffing she started her descent forward.

Genji watched as the trees blurred past him. Air whipped past his cheeks and stung at his eyes, tongue lolled out he could taste the power in the air Battousai the man that was the cause of all his problems. Paws raced across the ground covering miles in a few seconds. Coming to a sudden halt he looked below at the small town in which there was a dull aura was coming from. Hmmm so Battousai as been by here. Chest heaving he lavished in the feel of the burn he got in his throat and the hair raising power he felt off in the distance. Stepping back into the shadows he continued about his way. The number one were rule never let the humans see you and live. Grunting he push onward into the musty old forest of Transylvania. Creatures scattered at the sight of the humungous wolves making their way through the forest. He remembered back to what his master had said:
“Genji you have been so loyal to me I am going to assign you a new mission,” he paused before continuing “Find this were who you think is the Battousai and watch him. But do nothing for if he is the Battousai you will certainly be killed. Do not fail me” Then his master turned his back to him and faced the window, a sure sign that he was dismissed.
He growled a low growl beckoning his pack forward. Battousai I'm coming for you.

Sweat trickled down the side of her face and down her neck as her numb legs pumped hefting her and the large wolf up the hill. Geez he sure is heavy. She complained in her head but Kaoru's spirit lifted when she saw the sight of the her house looming in the distance ,filled with new energy she hastily clamored up her porch and kicked open her door. Walking swiftly to the couch she tenderly lay the bleeding canine down. Now free of her burden she rushed to the medical kit she knew the owners kept underneath the sink. Pulling out the bucket she impatiently waited for the bucket to fill with water. Back in the living room in a flash she began to treat his wounds.

Flashes of silver chortled through his eyes. A fire, blood curdling screams pierced through the night air. People scattered like mice afraid of being caught by the household cat. Smoke assaulted his nose causing his eyes to burn. His arm felt heavier than usual; looking down at the burden in his hand he saw a silver blade that reflected the leaping flames. He felt blood on every pore of his skin. Pain erupted through his heart like a caged bird. What would she think of him now? His head turned upward to greet the first drop of rain. Hot tears welled up in his eyes. No one saw them for they only thought it was rain. Only she could see when he was hurt. She was most definitely weeping for him.
Only for him. A sob was drowned in the rain. Kenshin recognized he was dreaming but it felt so real, the pain in his chest the wet trails of tears that started from his eyes and ran down his face. He had woken in up in a foreign place with a darkness surrounding him to tired to do anything he relaxed back and fell back into sleep

Kaoru turned over and immediately snapped awake. Getting up from her position on the floor she looked around a little dazed. Wait when had she fallen asleep? Stretching her lithe body she winced when she felt her shirt scratch her back, taking of her bloody shirt she tossed it into the trash on the way to the shower. Blood was just to hard to get out.
She breathed a sigh of relief when she finally had put on clean clothes and taken a shower. She walked back into the living room carefully balancing a bucket of water. Placing the bucket in front of the unnaturally still wolf she leaned over and checked the pulse only to immediately jerk back when molten gold eyes regarded her. In a few seconds she was pinned down underneath the massive body of the wolf she had recently rescued. A drawn back muzzle just inches from her face. Kenshin's mind was in a haze but he could clearly smell the fear rolling of in waves from the body. Pressing his nose to the intruders neck with the full intention of snapping the intruders neck in half he was a taken a back by the fresh smell of jasmine. Shaking his head he was snapped out the hellish nightmare he was having. Jasmine, inhaling another deep breath he savored the way it rushed into his mouth and left a burn on his tongue. For a few more seconds Kenshin kept the figure pinned underneath his body. Familiarity hit him in waves.
Taking a step back He found himself looking directly into crystal blue eyes swirling with fear. A female? He watched as she jerked up right and raced down the hall, door slamming in her wake. Kenshin was left in the position he tangled himself out of with the human female. Jumping back onto the couch he laid back down. He grinned he would wait for her, he always did and would. Kaoru.

“So do you think Genji will complete his mission correctly?” the white haired man asked pushing up his black glasses. Dead eyes focused on him before speaking, “I have no doubt that the fool will completely fail the mission if it really is the Battousai.”
The second man who spoke before only smirked, “Shishio you really have no confidence in your people do?”
“Of course I don't the only person I trust is myself.”
Only the strong survive.
Oh my gosh what's this Shishio is working with who? Oh no sorry about the cliffy it's just so fun Thanks and don't forget to review. Love you all. As you can tell I love rain. LOL
