Chapter 3 Heart beat
Kaoru placed her trembling hand over her wild beating heart. She took deep breath afraid if she didn't her heart would burst out her chest, and leave her to die on the floor. Just actually what had happened out there? She felt a shock wave send jolts up and down her body when his wet nose touched her skin. At first she thought he trying to taste and see if she would actually make a good meal. It was probably the smell of your skin that sent him away. You still smell like blood. A voice hissed in the back of her head Kaoru snorted to herself. She smelled like jasmine.

Why that ungrateful wolf she probably would make a good meal. What the hell why would I want him to eat me? She shook her head if she keep this up definitely would go to a mental ward. Blue eyes gazed downward lost in the world of her thoughts. She definitely would not stay cooped up in her room. She was a Kamiya and Kamiyas feared nothing. Although she would rather not admit it there was just something about this creature that fascinated to her to no end like she knew him but that was ridiculous she was certain she had never meet a giant wolf before. Slowly gathering her wits about her she forced herself to take a calming breath or she would hyperventilate. Turning the knob hesitantly she cracked the door open just slightly, just enough so she could see out the sliver of the crack. Judging it was clear. She pushing her foot in between the crack Kaoru gave a slight kick and the door instantly sprang to life. Taking another deep breath she walked into the hall.
There was no turning back.

Kenshin felt her presence before he saw her.Kaoru. He didn't quite know fully who the female was but it was slowing coming back to him, in bits and pieces. But what he did know was that this was the female he was unconsciously looking for… the reason he couldn't settle down with any packs. She stepped around the corner and Kenshin could see the rigidness in her posture. He grinned Kaoru hadn't changed on bit. She turned and her eyes locked with his unusual goldish amber ones. The world seemed to hold its breath.

The wolf that was seated on her couch was probably one of the beautiful animals she had ever laid eyes on. Red flames of hair cascaded onto her couch, and twin golden suns stared back at her. But what unnerved her the most was not the fact that he reach about 1 foot past the top of her waist (and she was five three)or the fact his huge paws that signified that he was yet done growing, but it was the beyond human intelligence that shined in his eyes and also that it seemed that he knew her. He stepped off the couch slowly, eyes never breaking the hold they had on each other. He walked toward her and she forced herself to relax remembering the documentation about the fact that animals could smell fear and attack because of that. Kaoru almost jumped a foot and a half in the air when his nose touched her hand in a gesture of friendliness. Kenshin watched as goose bumps rush up her arm. At the touch her mind turned hazy as though so one had flicked a light switch off:
They had left her alone again. Gone off to same but separate paths but she had been told to stay. They gave excuses causing her to think she would not she then again. She missed them dearly but his leave had been the worst. Causing her time and time again to question why she stayed alive? Everyone she cared for had left. Why did she live only for a simple promise? She the mournful woman had been used as bait but this time he was not there to save her. She had died in her flames of despair.

Kenshin watched as salty tears rolled down her cheeks and pain flashed through her eyes. Actually what did his little what did he use to call her- koi remember?
Kaoru, gone into the world of pain was immediately snapped to reality when a wet nose pressed to her hand once again. Looking down she gave a smile that did not reach her eyes “I except your apology,” she told him while absentmindedly giving a little pet to his head. Walking past him she slipped on her shoes and twisted her knob but stopped mid motion to turn back and give the wolf a glance she need air and space to collect her thoughts. “Well I'm going out you can follow me or go back into the forest.” He gave her a penetrating gaze that immediately turned her a tantalizing pink.

Kaoru shook her head great now she was talking to animals. Yup insane asylum here I come .Kaoru walked outside and Kenshin followed behind, He was never going to leave her again.

8 shadowed figures sat around a burning fire, gold eyes shining brighter than any light could mimic. A warm comfortable silence incased the room as each person waited for the other to speak Even the little chipper were Misao was silent for the time being. “I sense his power is growing stronger. Not only through my sense but a numerous amount of bodies have been found . . . blood drained of their bodies. The humans are growing suspicious. We have to do something before they find out,” a light browned hair boy spoke. His brilliant blue eyes flashed gold and illuminated his handsome but inhumanly pale face; his usual smile was not in place when he spoke.
“For once I'm going to have to agree with Soujiro on this one. We can't keep cleaning up after them it's like reinforcing their behavior,” Misao immediately piped in happy to be able to talk. A low grumble came from her mate next to her who was irritated that she had slipped out of his arms.
“I was talking to one of my vampire friends and she said even the vampire community is growing a little antsy,” Megumi voiced. Once again everyone was wrapped in their own thoughts.
“I say we have Misao and Aoshi go out and gather a little information,” a gruff voice voiced. Eyes turned in the direction. A handsome but pale man had spoken. He looked like he couldn't be over 30. Brown eyes regarded everyone and daring anyone to subject to his thoughts. Hiko was by far one if the oldest vampire anyone in the room had ever met. Black hair shimmered against the orange hue of the flames. Many heads nodded in agreement.
“It seems my baka denshi is back,” he said what was on everyone's minds but was nervous about speaking of. Many eyes flashed gold at the sound of his name, anticipation filled most of them. “Misao and Aoshi would leave in the morning,” he once again spoke rising from his chair next to the leaping fire. They would need all their strength tomorrow, for it would be the start of another revolution.

Kenshin watched the way her hair swished down her back, accenting the way her hips moved. He smirked and figured she either had no idea where she was going or she was trying to get rid of him. He crossed out the last idea when he saw her look back and flush a red that sent blood rushing up her neck. He looked away only to see they had passed that tree an hour ago. She suddenly stopped and sat down on an ash covered tree stump. “Hmmm I might as well tell you. I have no idea where I'm going,” Kaoru said while Kenshin settled down next to her. Close enough so he could feel the heat radiating of her. A wind tugged at their hair sending it dancing with the leaves the wind had also picked up. Once again kaoru spoke, “I really have no idea why I'm talking to a dog.” She looked over only to meet his eyes again only to see this time they were smiling at her. “Well since you look smart why don't' you lead us home,” Kaoru said into the palm of her hand that was covering her flushed face. She had no idea what was wrong with her. Kenshin got to his feet and walked forward. Looking back he saw she was following. Weaving through the trees where the fire had not touched with its destructive path. He came to a halt, a hair raising feeling made his hackles stand up on end. They were being watched.

Genji watched as the Battousai turned his head towards his direction. Jerking back quickly he hid behind the tree he was currently perched on. A few minutes passed and Genji cautiously vaulted down to the stable forest floor. Now he was sure it was Battousai never had he felt such fear when their eyes locked for a second. He had only felt that much fear when he saw anger in his master eyes. Swiftly pulling out a small cell phone from his pocket he speed dialed his master's number. “Sir we have found him.”
“Yes sir... Right leave no survivors.”
