Ice blue eyes
Chapter1: The beginning of it all
Misao rushed out of the restuarant, leaving yet another blind date behind. Hating the fact that she was stuck with another loser. She pushed her way through the crowded streets in Tokyo. Knocking down a few people in her path, but bothering to stop and help them back up. She just wanted the day to end. Wondering why she could never find the right guy to be with. And of course her friends didn't help, they were the ones setting her up on the dates she didn't want.
" Oh are you going to get it when I find you Kaoru! I swear I'm going to-" She started to choke midair when she suddenly people started looking at here strangely.
'Oh shit, I'm still out on the street.' She thought as she walked faster past, only to have to stop again at the street sign. Waiting with everyone else to cross, she sighed. She had to vent here anger on someone or something. But for now she wanted nothing else but to get back to her apartment. And to strangle her roommate for suggesting that guy. As the light changed Misao ran as fast as she could through the crowds, easily dodging people. It took all but 15 minutes to reach her apartment complex. Misao punched the button for her floor in the elevator, not even bothering to look at the old woman who was staring at her. Then as the elevator door opened on her floor, she rushed out with her braid trailing behind her. The old woman just stared and pressed another button.
" That's Misao for you. Such as crazy young woman." She muttered to herself as the doors closed.
Misao huffed at the door, pulling out her key. Swearing revenge for herself on her roommate. She decided rather to sneak attack her, then slamming the door open to let her presence be known giving her roommate a chance to run. Misao slinked along the wall peeking around the corner. Seeing that the TV was one, but then she saw both her roommate and her roommate's boyfriend. Of course she'd didn't really enjoy watching the two during there make-out session. But if Kaoru had actually set her up with a good guy then she wouldn't be here. Misao started to sneak over closer until her hand accidentally knocked over the vase of roses by the doorway.
'Dammit!' She attempted to catch it before it hit the ground. But it was to late. She stood there like a kid who was caught with its hand stuck in the cookie jar.
' So much for my sneak attack, geez I'm so stupid. How could I forget it was there!' She fumed to herself in the dark hallway. Cursing Himura for buying Kaoru the roses.
" Who's there!" She heard Kaoru's voice call from the living room, probably preparing to charge at her any minute. But Kenshin had already flipped on the switch to light up the apartment.
" Who do you think Kaoru! Honestly!" Misao stomped into sight.
" I looks like Misao-dono is back early from her date, that is does." She watched Kenshin exclaim, but before Kaoru could say anything. A shoe collided with her boyfriend's head.
"Oro?" She smirked as he fell back down on the couch without another word, clutching the bump on his head.
"Hey! Why did you do that Misao! All he said was-" Kaoru was cut short by the look on her friend's face. Then she glanced at the clock.
"I figured you wouldn't be home for hours." Then she pulled Kenshin closer to her, wrapping him in a comfortable embrace.
"Why do you think I'd be home early if it went well! Huh? Do you honestly think I'd be standing here right now interupting your make-out session with Himura?." She kept the menacing look in her eye. Kaoru knew she'd have to pay once Kenshin left. But blushed that she saw them.
" Please don't be mad at Kaoru-dono, I was the one that suggested the guy." Kenshin finally recovered and sighed. He'd take the blow this time. It wasn't his fault Kaoru picked wrong guys for Misao, but he'd try and take the blame off of her.
Kaoru looked over to her boyfriend, looking puzzled until she caught his look. The you-owe-me-one look. Then she laughed nervously before looking back at Misao.
"I don't believe it. Himura's never suggested a guy to me or you." Misao crossed her arms over her chest. Trying to tell if it was true.
"Yeah, Kenshin suggested him. Plus he seemd like such a nice guy." Kaoru had her eyes closed and tried to give her friend a cheerful smile.
" You actually took Himura's word! Geez! It's worse then I thought. I mean look at his bum of a best friend, I can just imagine the guy I'd be on a date with if the rooster suggested someone." Misao walked off into the kitchen, setting on the tea kettle.
' Must have green tea...' She thought was she stood there waiting for it to boil, realizing it was stupid to wait.
'It never seems to boil fast enough if you stand and wait.' Misao chanted to herself as she went back into the living room. To see Kaoru brushing Kenshin's bangs out of his eyes, humming slightly. Just barely to were she could pick it up. She wished she had someone like Kaoru, but she'd just have to wait. She was tired of searching for the right guy, then Kaoru noticed she was back.
"So your not mad anymore Misao?" Kaoru asked softly, still messing with Kenshin's hair.
"No. Not really, but that won't stop me from getting even."Misao smirked as she sat on the arm of the couch.
"Just don't be to harsh on him." Kaoru would have to make it up to him sometime. Then Kenshin got up and stretched, trying to ignore the remark his girlfriend just made.
"Well I better get back to my apartment. Or Sano will eat all my food." Kenshin smiled as she pulled Kaoru to her feet.
"Megumi kicked him out again? What did he do this time?."Misao decided to laugh at the rooster's misfortune.'Probably serves him right.'
" He lost a bit gambling again, including the engagement ring he was going to give her." Kenshin started to walk to the door, with Kaoru's arm entwined with his.
" Oh, well good-night Himura. I'm sure you'd like to give Kaoru her good night kiss." Misao got up, she wasn't feeling to energetic anymore.
"Good night Misao-dono. I'm sorry your date didn't go we-"
" Forget Himura. I don't want to remember." She walked back into the kitchen once she heard the kettle.
She had finished making her cup of tea, once Kaoru made her way back into the kitchen. Seeing that Kaoru was still blushing she decided to tease.
"Wow, that must have been some kiss." She stated as she took a sip of her tea. Smirking more when she saw her friend get a brighter blush on her face.
A few moments passed over the two in silence, before Kaoru spoke up again.
"I don't know why I love that man sometimes..." She sighed contently as she leaned onto the wall.
"I don't know why either. He looks a woman." Misao said it just to peeve her friend off. And it naturally worked.
"Misao!" Kaoru tried to smack her but Misao jumped out of the way. Snickering to herself as she walked away with her tea to her room.
'Now without a guy in my life. I can focus on my job and other things I may enjoy.'
But little did she know that right guy or the guy of her dreams would make way into her life. Not a day or week later, but let's say three months later.

Misao sat at a small table in her favorite coffe shop, typing away on her computer. Trying to finish a web design for work, cursing herself for finishing it at the last minute. She glanced at the clock on the wall across from her, realizing she had about 20 minutes to get to work.
She had gotten so use to working at home, that working in the office was hell for her. And hating her boss didn't help either. She closed her laptop and placed it in its case. Then she ventured to the exit, only to see it crowded with people. She tapped her foot impatiently when they weren't moving, only to hear the owner of the shop call out.
"If your not in here for coffee or to buy something! Then get out, your blocking the way of my customers!"
Misao smirked when they all made there way into the rain. 'Just perfect.' She thought to herself sarcasticly.
She pushed her way past people walking slowly through the rain. Normally she loved to walk in the rain, but at the current time she was trying to meet a deadline. Plus not having a rain coat or an umbrella is always fun too. By the time she had reached the building she was completely drenched. She stalked all the way inside, pissed that she had forgotten it was going to rain.
Misao slide her card key through to get to her station. Then she rode the employee's elevator up six floors, looking at her watch to see she'd was almost late. And if she was late she'd have one of those bosses who'd never let it go. She got out and sighed that she had made it, collapsing in her seat in her little cubicle. Shivering slightly that the air-conditioning was on.
"Oh great! You made it on time Misao-chan!" She didn't bother to look up from her company computer, already knowing who it was.
"Hey Kamatari, Can I talk to you in a minute?. I need to finish this before my meeting with Saitou." Misao was started transfering it over from her computer to send to her boss' computer.
"Sure thing hun. Just come over to my cubicle when you can." She glanced as her friend walked off until he was out of her line of sight.
Misao sat there when she finished, still wet from the rain. She pulled out a roll of papertowels from underneath her desk. Drying off her arms and face. She just wanted to sleep in this morning, it was just one of those days. Then she saw her supervisior walking over to her to remind her about the meeting.
"Another fun-filled day at Miburo Corp." She got up with an extra disk in case Saitou made the excuse he didn't get her work. Then made her way into the so-called wolf's office.

She would commute with the rest of the workers to the exit. Misao was surprised that her boss liked the work considering she had to rush it. But she wasn't going to argue, he never did praise someone's work but she could tell when he liked it. Kamatari had left work early after lunch, not bothering to tell her why.
'Damn him, and he promised me some food. I guess I'll have to make it, since Kaoru's cooking sucks.' Right on cue her stomach growled as if to warn her. Misao boarded a close by commuter train, knowing that it would stop pretty close to her apartment complex. She looked out the window, looking down at the city she was so use to. It seemed darker out because of the rain, so the city was already starting to light up.
Misao crossed her arms over herself as if to keep some warmth. Just when she was starting to dry off she had to head back out in the rain. The train had made it with only a few delays on account of the rain. Misao got out with yet another crowd out onto the street. Stopping at the same busy intersection where she had been three months before. But the people around her didn't look to carefree today, just wet and annoyed. She didn't bother looking at whether the light told them they could walk. She had started feeling alittle light-head, she crossed not paying attention to the people calling her back. Misao finally snapped out of her stupor was she heard the screeching of tires on the wet asphalt. She looked straight ahead like a deer caught in headlights. Hypnotized by the car lights flying towards her.
'Oh shit!' Her mind screamed but her feet didn't want to move. She closed her eyes as if she wasn't imagining it. Expecting the impact but it never came. She felt to numb, but she decided to open her eyes. Only to have her green eyes meet with ice blue. She realized that she was on the ground on the other side of the sidewalk.
'Did you save me?' She thought as she layed there, only to here clapping from the forming crowd. Her savior kneeling over her. His ice blue eyes never leaving the green.
Aothor's notes: Well I'll leave it there. And if anyone likes it I'll continue. Oh and if you like it please review, I'd like the feedback. Then I know whether you people want me to keep going.
