Chap. summary: Kaoru think about Kenshin and in just a friend way.
Kaoru stared at Kenshin from across the table, he caught her eye and smiled, she smiled back. He was nice to her now and she was glad. At first she didn't want to be friends with him, he was so cold and almost never smiled. She had almost given up on her atempt to befriend him when they got new assigned seats and she was next to him but, she just couldn't let him go. He was so amusing and she almost knew the coldness was a barrier and he really was nice on the inside. She now knew her ultimate goal was to melt his heart, she blushed at the thought. She knew that he only thought of her as a friend but, a girl could dream. Maybe he did...who knows what was going on in his head but, she wished he at least thought of her as a friend. She was drawn to him and she knew it but, she just put it aside and went with the flow. She stared across at him. His gaze toward the teacher but, somehow she knew he was texting under the table. She smiled and wondered who he was texting and wondered if he had her number if he would text her instead.
Misao turned toward Kaoru and smiled she was gazing at Kenshin...again. Maybe, she thought Kaoru had a crush on him and with that htought she elbowed Kaoru. Kaoru looked away from Kenshin and at Misao. ''Yes.'' Kaoru whispered toward her friend. She saw Misao scribble on a piece of notebook paper and passed it to her. Kaoru read it. Hey Kaoru, (she read) I've been wondering latelly on who you liked...you know as more then a friend, because a double date with me and Aoshi would be a blast. Kaoru sighed and then wrote back, Sorry Misao I don't like anyone and never have so far. Misao took back the note and looked dissapointed but, then quicklly scribbled, Oh okay. Kaoru read it and sighed, she wasn't lying to Misao, she didn't like Kenshin or rather didn't know how she felt toward him. She looked at Kenshin again besides she thought, He doesn't like me anyways.
Kaoru sighed it was time for the class to read outloud in parts, she hated doing this. She partlly listened to her teacher going through the parts when Kenshin nudged her with his elbow and she looked up.'' Hey Kaoru.'' He said. '' You could totally pull off that girl.'' As he pointed to the character description. Kaoru quicklly read it and looked up confused. He smiled and replied. '' Cause your the tough strong type.'' Kaoru blushed and playfully smacked him across the arm. '' Your, for sure strong.'' He laughed as he rubbed his now injured arm, and she couldn't help but, laugh along. She looked down at the character description again and sighed. The character Kenshin had chosen, was the girl he had told Kaoru to be's boyfriend. She couldn't help but, think about that.
When class was over, Kaoru smoothly walked over to Kenshin and playfully said. '' Aren't you going to miss me in your next class.'' He looked at her and smiled.'' Of coarse but, luckilly i'll be saved for I have you in my class after that.'' She smiled and waved as she walked to her class without him, his words playing over again in her head in till the class she had ended.
When she heard the bell ring signaling the end of class she almost ran out but, coolily kept her calm and started to walk toward math but, stoped dead in her tracks when she saw Kenshin, She was about to wave but, she quicklly stoped when she saw a girl run up and hug him, he protested a little but, not enough to make Kaoru happy. The girl turned around and Koaru reconized her as Tomoe. Everyone knew Tomoe, she was also in the same math class as Kaoru and Kenshin, and there she was hugging Kenshin like she owned him and talking and laughing with him like they had known each ither forever. Kaoru stood there shocked maybe they had known each other since forever, but, the way Kenshin looked at her sent shivers down Kaoru's spine...He looked at Tomoe like he cared.
