Gradually being chipped away, the ground shook in rage as the two alter users above fought for their dominance, skills, and over all peace of mind. He had no idea when it had come to this… fighting with his rival just to see him, to feel him. Not that he minded… On the contrary, he loved the invigorating feel of his opponent fighting just for him. It made him feel like the luckiest man alive, even if the feeling was somewhat overshadowed by the wounds of battle. Blood seemed to be everywhere, and with him in his last stage of alter power, he wasn't fairing very well… but then again, neither was Ryuho. It made him smile, just thinking that his very reason for living was in front of him full of passion.

`passion I caused…' His smiled only widened while Ryuho's frown only deepened.

“What are you smiling about, you worthless native piece of garbage.” Cool as
ever, Ryuho scowled at his smirking opponent, praying that something large and blunt could just fall from the sky and crush his rivals empty head in. `It would take care of my problems…'

On the other hand, Kazuma's apparent entertainment at his rival's expense only grew the more flustered he got. `He looks so damn cute all sulky like that.' Kazuma got the sudden urge just to stick out his tongue and be even more contrary, but resisted that urge for something much more pleasing to him.

Lunging at the older alter user, Kazuma initiated the fight once again and the fists flew at amazing speed.

Ryuho's last attack had been a real pain in the ass for Kazuma, leaving him seeing stars and clutching his torn open side for a reprieve from the pain. The edges of his sight where fading rapidly to black and he'd coughed up more blood then he thought he was capable of holding. Ryuho was standing (more like swaying) above his fallen figure doing his own little mental happy dance and smirking.

` I will not lose… I cannot lose, not to him…' Goddamn it was hard, but Kazuma had done it, he'd pulled enough energy for one last attack and had hit Ryuho head on, making him slam painfully into the boulder ten feet away. All he saw was the boulder pulverize and Ryuho fall before all he saw was black.

~~blah blah blah~~

Kazuma awoke to a stinging in his cheek and one very battered, bruised, and pissed of Holy member. Since he had been passed out for god knows how long and his brain was a bit fuzzy, he still hadn't registered the fact the he had said Holy member slapping and slamming the living daylights out of him to get his `worthless, loser ass' up.

“Wake up damn it! I refuse to sit here and play fucking babysitter to you, you worthless sack of shit!” Ryuho shook him even harder than before, preferring the logic that if it didn't work the first twenty times you did it, do it harder until it does. He finally stopped when he heard Kazuma groan and his amber eyes popped open.

“I'm up, you holy bastard…” Despite the growing ringing numbness in his head, he managed to form a coherent sentence… he even managed to throw in an insult, good for him. Now… if only he could move.

Ryuho seemed more or less pleased when the native alter finally stirred after some fifteen minutes of slapping, yelling, and slight trauma to the head and roughly put his hand on Kazuma's head to check him temperature.

“H-How long… have I been out?” Honestly, Ryuho didn't know how long they had both been passed out. He, himself had only woken up a few hours ago to find his native alter ego passed out and drooling on a rock not ten feet away from himself. After finding what bearings he had, he had dragged him into a cave around where their battle had taken place.

“I don't know… I just woke up as well.” Kazuma just `humped' and smirked as he tried to sit up, but failed miserably. The older alter user was looking just as worse for ware as he was. He had several severe gashes on his torso and one nasty looking cut running from his cheek down to his collar bone. Ryuho's wrist didn't look so good either.

As for him, well, considering he couldn't feel most his body and kind of eliminated the option of moving, he didn't know what the hell was wrong with him. Eyeing his rival, who was propped up against the wall of the cave two feet away, he wondered why Ryuho hadn't just left him at the scene of his beating to rot in hell. Continuing on his train of thoughts, he voiced them.

“Why did you bring me here, Ryuho?” Ryuho's mouth opened, then closed, and then repeated the motion. Why had he saved Kazuma? He had no clue why he had dragged Kazuma's worthless ass a mile and a half for help… So what did he do? Word vomit!

“Honor!” With his outburst, the brunette alter user gave him a `Reeeeeaaaaallly?' kind of look while smirking at him once again. “What kind of man leaves a injured man behind, rival or not?” Gloating triumphantly at his impromptu logic, he sneered at Kazuma. Kazuma's look stayed the same.

“You know you just wanted time alone with me, you filthy pervert, you.” Kazuma's smirk widened into a full-blown predatory grin as he sat up and shuffled closer to the aqua haired holy member. Ryuho's eyes, apparently, could not be housed in his skull at that particular moment and he blushed all the way down to the roots of his hair. Chuckling, Kazuma looked up at him with wide eyes as he ran a single digit down Ryuho's chest.

“It's not like I mind Ryu-kun, you look quite sexy in that tattered holy uniform of yours…” Batting his eyelashes, he smiled sickeningly sweet, making Ryuho slightly ill.

“Goddamn it, Kazuma, Get the fuck off me!” Laughing hysterically at Ryuho's embarrassment, he was shoved off of the blushing holy member with a spectacular strength and flew into the adjacent wall. Ah, well, not like it mattered… he couldn't feel his bleeding head anyway. As jokingly as Kazuma had done it, his smile fell though when Ryuho got up and dusted himself off, still scowling.

“W-Where are you going?” Ryuho was startled at the authentic and vulnerable quality in his rival's voice and turned around, hissing at him in anger.

“I have better things to do than look after some half-witted, bumbling idiot.” He turned to leave when he felt a small tug on the back of his uniform and he whirled around, stomping over and sticking his face right into Kazuma's threateningly. Getting ready to rip him a new one, he was blown away at the stripped shining quality of Kazuma's golden orbs. They were ablaze with emotion, making him stop dead in his tracks.

“Please don't go, Ryuho…” There was some raw emotion behind Kazuma's words that made his voice crack with need and pain. He looked so… childish and innocent. Ryuho couldn't stand to look at him. He turned away and flopped back down near Kazuma with a defeated sigh. Kazuma's eyes lit up with happiness as he stared at his rival with unbridled passion. Bringing his hand up, he gently cupped Ryuho's cheek and ran his thumb over his love's lips. Kazuma sighed sadly and dropped his hand, leaving a wide-eyed Ryuho gaping at him.

“Please don't go, Ryuho… I don't know what I do without you…” His love stared at him absolutely confounded by his words and actions. It seemed like what he said next didn't even reach the aqua-haired youth. “You're the only reason I'm alive, ya know? I live to fight you, to see you, to feel your very presence near me and you're always the one to keep me going…” The lost, forlorn look never left his face as he went on, letting his head thump against the wall and letting his eyes close. He knew he shouldn't have even begun to hint his feelings about Ryuho to him, knowing he would never love him back… But it felt as if the weight had been lifted off his shoulders. The searing, crushing pressure was gone and he felt amazingly… free.

“I love you, Ryuho… You are all I need.” Sighing once again, he turned head away from his former rival, trying to avoid the look of hate and disgust he was sure to find there. What he didn't expect was to be hauled off the ground and slammed into the wall like he was. He opened his eyes to find Ryuho's cold, blazing, wine colored gaze pouring into his. The anger in that gaze burned him inside like no fire could, turning to ash his already dead heart. Just as before, he didn't expect Ryuho's fist to collide with his cheek either.

“You native bastard! What the hell where you thinking?! Did you think you could just tell me you loved me, and we would go skipping off into the sunset?! Huh?!” When Kazuma didn't answer, he slammed him into the wall, increasing the already good-size dent. “I have no time for love, especially your's Kazuma. I am a holy member, and I will uphold my duty, no matter what gets in my way.” Ryuho's voice had gotten lower as his anger intensified at the younger alter user. How dare he! How dare Kazuma even try to pull this shit with him. Kazuma was his rival, for fuck's sake. What the hell was wrong with him? With his voice still dangerously low, he got as close to Kazuma's face as he could and whispered, “Next time I see you, I will nor hesitate to kill you, Kazuma.” Releasing Kazuma's collar, he watched as his rival slid down the wall onto his knees, and murmured, “Pathetic,” before he stormed out of the cave, leaving Kazuma to his own devices.

The tears came, whether he wanted them or not, running down his face and burning his skin just like Ryuho's words had.

`Pathetic'

`Your worthless, Your Garbage'

`You stupid native idiot'

Ryuho's words filled his head, repeating like never ending mantra in his head making him curl up into a ball on the dusty floor.

He was consumed.
