A new day had arrived and Serena sat at her kitchen table, drumming her fingers along the table top surface. She and Trunks had another fight again, after her friends left to a hotel. They argued about her whereabouts and the unreturned phone calls. Trunks kept spilling out accusations like a gush of hot water drowning her from the inside out.

The result of the argument had Trunks fuming his way out of the apartment raging in fury, as Serena was left behind crying tears of frustration. She was left alone bubbling with anger. She sat at the kitchen table the whole night, not getting a wink of sleep.

She sat in the dark contemplating, contemplating over her relationship with Trunks. She loved Trunks with all her heart, but when the thought of Amara came to mind, the love crumbles to pieces…blowing away into the wind. This confused her greatly.

Why does Amara make her feel like this? She thought about the blonde headed vampire. The dark mysterious green eyes, the cool look she held upon her face, the soft pink kissable lips…

Serena shook her head, this couldn't be happening. Could it possible…that she was falling for a woman; a vampire? She berated herself for such thoughts. It wasn't possible. She couldn't have feelings for a woman because she loves men! As a matter of fact, she was engaged to one right now.

She let out a frustrated sob, placing her head down on her folded arms miserably. Trunks crossed her mind once again. She was seeing a side of him she had never seen before; jealousy and anger. She didn't like seeing him like this, it scared her.

She tilted her head to the side, cheek resting on her arms. She had a perplexed look on her face. She thought about her argument with Trunks once more. Trunks had mentioned Diamond. That was the second time he had done that. What did Diamond have to do with all of this? Did Trunks know something she wasn't seeing?

Her questions weren't answered and only lingered about her silent lonely apartment. All of these unanswered questions were suffocating her, she needed answers and she needed them now! Her eyes drifted shut, she was so very tired. Before she knew it, she fell into a deep sleep.

***********

The sun was rising over the horizon, the sky a pinkish-red. Amara walked through the city, head lowered slightly. She wore loose dark blue jeans, a tight red t-shirt that showed of her rather good sized breasts and lean abs. She had on a black leather jacket and black sneakers.

Her mind circled around Serena. A small smile formed on her face, making her features lighter and more feminine. She was head over heels in love with the young blonde beauty and wanted her badly. She wanted to hold her, to kiss her…and so much more. Feelings she hadn't felt since she had been with Sara. She shook her head, not wanting to bring up bad memories. She was in need of Serena, just being in the girls presence would make her shine with happiness.

She was heading towards Serena's apartment. She couldn't sleep that night, the presence of the werewolves clouded her mind as well. She hadn't seen them yet, though she knew they were near. She was still puzzled as to why the werewolves would be in her territory. All she knew was that they better not start any trouble, because she was sure as hell ready to mount werewolf heads on her mantel.

She grinned at the thought as she came up to Serena's apartment. She had a personal reason why she hated the werewolves and that hate will remain till the day she died. Amara stood in front of the apartment building, contemplating whether or not she should climb the fire escape or actually use Serena's front door for once. She smirked, eyes darkening, going to the fire escape. Old habits never seemed to die.

She climbed up it till she was in front of Serena's bedroom window. Opening it up, she climbed inside. She was surprised that she didn't see the young blonde lying in her bed asleep. She arched an eyebrow, wondering if she was even there. She decided that she would have a look around before she would leave and go back to her underground layer.

Exiting the bedroom, she immediately spotted the young vampire at the kitchen table. She smiled, slowly walking up behind her. She placed her hands on Serena's shoulders, hovering over her to see her face. She snickered when she saw a trickle of drool run from her mouth, then frowned when she saw the drying tears on her face.

She ran a cold hand down along the pale wet cheek, wiping away the warm tears. She put the hand back on the shoulder and she began to slowly massage them. She heard Serena moan and smiled with satisfaction. She pressed down harder, leaning forward a bit, seeing a small smile spread across her face.

Serena wearily opened her bloodshot red eyes. She felt someone massaging her shoulders and moaned slightly in pleasure. She turned her head expecting to see Trunks, but was surprised to see Amara standing behind her. Amara didn't stop the relaxing massage and Serena didn't want her too. The young vampire placed her head back down on her folded arms. “When did you get here?”

Amara was relieved when Serena didn't try to push her away. “A few minutes ago.”

“Oh.” she mumbled, with a long sigh.

Amara stopped massaging her shoulders and wrapped her arms a long the shoulders, bending down and kissing her on the cheek. Serena smiled, she was feeling something she had never felt with Trunks; complete. “How come you were crying? An angel like you shouldn't cry,”

“I'm no angel,” whispered Serena, standing to her feet. She blushed deeply, wiping the drool from the side of her face. She stretched slightly, stifling a yawn. She looked at Amara tiredly, bags beneath her droopy eyes.

Amara eyed her. “You look tired…you need rest.”

Serena shook her head and swayed a little. “I'm fine,”

Amara narrowed her eyes, taking a hold of Serena's hand and pulled her towards the bedroom, much to the disapproval of the young vampire. She climbed into the bed and pulled Serena along with her. Amara kicked off her shoes, lying down and pulled Serena on top of her. She sniffed the air and frowned. She could smell the smell of sex emitting from the room and knew that it was Serena's and Trunks`s scent. Though the intercourse had happened a few nights ago, the scent was still strong, especially to that of a vampire. `That will have to go.” she grinned. “My scent will fill this room soon…”

Serena nestled her head in the crook of Amara's neck, as Amara snapped out of her thoughts, wrapping her arms tightly around the young blonde. “Now tell me, why you were crying?” she asked.

Serena was quiet for a few minutes, then finally said. “I had an argument with my fiancé.”

She felt an inhuman growl rumbled within Amara's chest. The room was filled with an uncomfortable silence. Serena was building up the courage to ask a question she wasn't sure she should ask. Finally putting forth all the courage she had left, she asked with a trembling voice… “Amara, who is Sara?”

Amara's entire body stiffened at the mention of the name. Serena felt it and suddenly felt bad for asking such a personal question. Though, she was surprised when she spoke. “She was my lover…”

Serena felt her eyes water, feeling the pain that dripped solemnly from Amara's lips. “Was?” she asked, fearing the answer.

Amara sighed, not really wanting to talk about this, but she knew that Serena had the right to know, she deserved to know. “She died a year ago…” She paused, the memories coming back, the memories that haunted her sleep, made her cry from dusk till dawn. “She was attacked by werewolves…she got bit.”
She sighed a bit, trying to make her voice stop cracking from the build up of unshed tears.

“Werewolf venom is deadly to vampires…as vampire venom is deadly to werewolves. The poison slowly kills you, clogging up your blood, making the blood unable to reach your brain. We do have antidotes for it…though for Sara, it was too late. The medicine wouldn't have worked; the venom had worked through most of her body.”

“I'm so sorry,” whispered Serena.

Amara nodded, unable to speak anymore. She placed her cheek on Serena's chilled forehead. One solitary tear rolled down her pale cheek; her pain, struggle, and suffering released within it. She was freed from the bondages of hurt and encased in the loving arms of peace. Oh how good it felt.

Trunks stood in his apartment, raging in pure anger. He had furniture knocked over and broken. He took a very expensive vase and threw it against the wall, it shattering into millions of pieces, broken crystal like shards still sparkling with beauty, making Trunks all the more angrier.

He growled, eyes flashing green, hair raising and turning blonde momentarily. He sat down heavily on the couch in the living room, breathing heavily. He leaned back against the cool leather sofa, hands gripping his blue jeans tightly.

He had to calm down; he knew that his friends and father would probably feel his energy and would come over and see if he was being attacked. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back. He calmed his breathing down to a steady pace. He sighed deeply, running his fingers through his now purple locks.

He turned his head to the left, peering out of the window. The sun was rising quickly. He too, like Serena, had not gotten any sleep. He let out a long tired sigh, sleepy tears forming. He slouched lowly in his seat, propping his feet on the wooden table in front for him. He was wearing a white wife beater, and pair of blue jeans, and white socks.

He put his hands behind his head, giving off a yawn. He thought about his fiancé, his first lover…and the only. He was so angry with her it hurt. How could she do this to him? She was cheating on him, though he hadn't proved it, he knew it. She had to be. The suspicions were clouding his mind.

He kicked the table over, a loud clatter ringing out. He lay across the couch, head resting against the leather coated arm of it. He turned to his side, crossing his arms over his chest. He thought about how he would torture the “guy” that was messing with his girl in a very bloody way, in great detail. He fell asleep with a wicked smile on his face.

**********

Amara, as well as Serena had fallen asleep. Amara had Serena pressed tightly against her, with her arms wrapped around her protectively. Serena opened her eyes and turned her head slightly, looking up into Amara's sleeping face. The vampire was in a deep sleep and Serena sighed, looking at the clock she had set up while her friends were over. It was going on 2pm. Serena tried to slip from Amara's arms, but the vampire had a tight hold on her.

She growled lowly in frustration, getting comfortable. She mine as well, she wasn't moving anytime soon. So, she did something she had been doing a lot lately; think. She thought about Sara. “So that was her lover…and Amara chose me to take her place.” She whispered. “But, why?”

She looked up at Amara's face, examining it closely. Her face softened. `Could I really be falling for here?' she thought, then smiled. `She is attractive…”

She then looked down at her engagement ring. “I'm so confused.” She sighed heavily. “Why did this have to happen to me?”

Yet again, her answers were left unanswered. Her thoughts then turned to the girl…the little vampire. “Hotaru…” she whispered. “I wonder if Amara knows her.”

She looked back up at the woman. She shook her awake, even though she really didn't want to disturb her. But, she couldn't leave any more unanswered questions lingering about…it would just drive her to the brink of insanity.

Amara gave a whining groan, opening her eyes slightly. “What?” glaring a bit.

Serena swallowed hard, gathering up the little courage she had left. “Um…do you know Hotaru?”

Her face softened. “Yea, actually I do,”
