"Cruel Intentions (Part 1)"
"Hotaru!" Her father, Souichi Tomoe was calling from the kitchen downstairs.
"Coming Dad!" Hotaru called back. She slammed the book shut and took the book with her. She hurriedly closed the door behind her and ran down the stairs. She paused for a second and sniffed the aroma in the air. Her father was making pancakes in the kitchen. It smelled like blueberry.
"Good morning daddy," She greeted him warmly. She leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"How's my birthday girl?" Souichi asked, "Shouldn't I be kissing you instead?" He lightly teased her. He handed her a fork and plate filled with two pancakes.
"Just dandy," She sighed, taking the fork and plate with her. She took out the syrup from the kitchen cabinet. She walked towards the dining table and pulled out a chair. She sat down and ate her breakfast. Her father sat next to her.
"You don't sound very happy? It's your birthday." Souichi remarked.
"Dad, do you miss Mom?" She asked of a sudden.
"Of course, I do sweetie. She's always been a part of me." Souichi said. "Why do you ask?" He asked her curiously.
"I was just thinking about her, that's all." She said. "I missed having a mother around. Don't feel lonely Daddy?"
"Why do I need to feel sad when I have you with me?!" Souichi said kindly.
"That's nice, Daddy." She said. "But you still haven't answered my question. Do you feel sad at all?"
"It's not because I feel lonely. I just haven't found the right person to commit myself too. " He explained.
"You mean a person like Mom huh?" She said sympathetically.
"Yes…" He paused, stroking her head. "Come on," He quickly changed the subject. "You don't want to keep your friends waiting…"
"Okay," She said. She continued eating.

"B-O-R-I-N-G!!" Aphrodite complained, shuffling through the items at her altar. There were flowers, jewelry, fresh fruits, fishes and clothes given by her loyal followers as an offering to the Goddess of Love. She made a comical face.
"I HATE fish! Don't these mortals get it through their thick skulls?!? Get with the program here!" She exclaimed. She was annoyed and threw the fish over her shoulder.
"Now, This IS phenomenal." She nodded approvingly. She held a diamond in the sunlight, admiring its radiant beauty.
A ragged woman came inside the temple and gazed at the golden statue of Aphrodite. "Bitch!" She snarled. "You make me sick!" She spit out in disgust.
A gasp came out from Aphrodite. "You're in for a windfall!" She said sarcastically.
Before the woman could leave, Aphrodite appeared in a puff of pink smoke. "Hey! What gives you the right to trash someone else's place? This is sacred temple!" She said arrogantly. Her hands placed on her hips.
"And what gives you the RIGHT to tamper someone else's life?!?" The woman countered.
"Whoa!! Where did that came from?" Aphrodite wondered. "What on earth are you talking about?" She asked tiredly.
"This is what I'm talking about!?!" The woman opened her shawl and showed her rounded belly.
Aphrodite cocked an eyebrow at her. "Honey, you can't expect me to take blame for that. You should have been more responsible…" She said righteously.
"I'm not a slut like you… I led a good life…You came and destroyed everything!!" The woman said emotionally. Tears came down on her face.
"I'm not in a mood for this…" Aphrodite muttered. "Count your blessing sweetings. You can kiss your so-called life goodbye!" She warned. "Don't you ever show up your face here again!" She whistled. Two-muscled men came out and dragged the hysterical woman away from the temple. "You witch!!" The woman cursed.
The men brought her to the front entrance and pushed her outside. The doors closed behind her. The woman pounded her fists on the doorway. She sank down to the ground and cried miserably.
"Don't cry," A voice whispered in her ear. The woman looked up and saw Discord stroking her head.
"Who…Who are you?" She asked.
"I'm a friend. I can be your friend." Discord answered, giving her a mysterious smile.
