Last time on Princess Cynthia and Prince Kouga:
Before they could react, though, an arrow sailed through the air and landed into the tree, inches away from Mars. Neither didn’t have to take a second guess to know who it was. The purifying arrow was proof enough.
Inuyasha turned to the undead miko’s stoic, cold form and whispered her name in shock,” Kikyo.” Standing before them, was the former living miko, holding her bow and glaring at her reincarnation.
“What have you done to my soul,” Kikyo’s cold voice demanded, making Sailor Mars buckle in fear.
This time on Princess Cynthia and Prince Kouga:
Chapter 16
Kagome’s Explanation and Kikyo’s Soul
“Kikyo?” Sailor Mars asked in shock. “What are you talking about?”
“Do not take me for a fool, Kagome,” the undead miko spat. “Something has happened, perhaps something that has to do with your appearance.” Her cold brown eyes glowed with anger. “Whatever the matter, my soul has become corrupted.”
Sailor Mars’ eyes narrowed back in return out of anger. She boldly yelled,“ For your information, it is no longer your soul. It’s mine!”
“Kikyo, why are you here?” Inuyasha demanded, deciding to jump into the conversation.
Kikyo let out a bitter laugh at Mars‘ retort. “I wish to know what has happened. If you’re supposedly my reincarnation, then why is the energy coming from you, not of a human?” She continued, still directing her statements towards Mars.
“Perhaps it’s because I’m not human in this form,” Mars explained in irritation.
“How can this be?” Kikyo questioned.
“In this form, I’m known as Sailor Mars. I’m also, no longer your reincarnation. I’m the reincarnation of the Princess of Mars,” the Senshi of Fire explained as a light smirk showed up on her face.
“What?” came Kikyo’s surprised gasp.
“Kagome-chan, Inuyasha, Ami-chan needs those herbs--” Sango began as she stepped out of the hut. She got cut off as she saw the shocking sight in front of her. Sailor Mars and Inuyasha, cornered by Kikyo! “Kikyo!” The taijiya exclaimed. “Sailor Mars, Inuyasha, what’s going on here?” She demanded.
“I wish I knew,” Inuyasha mumbled, still glaring at his past lover. He then directed his next question to Kikyo. “How did you know that something was different about Kagome?”
“We share souls, Inuyasha. Or did you forget that little fact?” came Kikyo’s cold response.
“Kikyo, I didn’t forget. So did it have some weird affect on you to make you know?” Inuyasha continued.
“I guess you could say that. At the instant you must have ‘transformed,’ something was pulling at my particular soul. I instantly felt pure power surge through me, though I knew they were not miko powers. Now I know why,” Kikyo explained, once again glancing at Mars. Inuyasha and the senshi nodded in understanding. “I also came to find out where a strong pure energy is coming from,” she continued, breaking them out of their calm.
A nervous bead of sweat went down Inuyasha’s face. “What the hell do you mean?!” he demanded.
“I think you know what I’m talking about. It is coming from inside that hut, though I know it isn’t the power of the Shikon Jewel.”
“Yea, what of it?” Inuyasha asked.
“Are you trying to defend Kagome, Inuyasha?” Kikyo demanded, narrowing her eyes at him. The hanyou’s eyes widened and he became speechless.
“I demand to know what it is,” came Kikyo’s command.
“It’s the Silver Crystal. If you want it, you’ll have to go through the wimpy wolf and Sailor Moon to get it. Not me,” Inuyasha explained.
“So the one with the powerful soul is this Sailor Moon? I can sense her great purity,” Kikyo murmured more to herself. “I wish to speak to her then.”
“Sorry to say Miko, but Sailor Moon is not able to speak to anyone at the moment,” came a male voice. Everyone turned to see Kouga standing in the doorway of the hut. He let a small smirk adorn his face. “So, you must be that undead miko I’ve been hearing so much about.”
Kikyo glared at Kouga. “You possess two shards in your legs. So, are you the wolf demon that protects this ‘Silver Crystal’?” she demanded.
“Yea, what of it?” he inquired.
“You are a fool!” she spat. “Don’t you know with that full crystal, you could purify Naraku?! It’s powerful enough and not in shards as the current Shikon Jewel is!”
The wolf jumped back from the miko in surprise of her angry outburst. Inuyasha mentally winced at the miko’s tone of voice. She was mad and things did not end well when she was.
“Wait. You mean that the crystal could be used to kill Naraku now?” Kouga then demanded, getting wind of her statement.
“Of course. How did you not know something of which you protect? How foolish,” she scoffed, making Kouga narrow his eyes.
“Foolish?! Who are you to talk?!” Kouga asked irate.
“Keh! Shut the hell up, wolf! It’s not your business to get into,” Inuyasha stated over the two, trying to stop a fight from happening. Sailor Mars’ eyes shot open at what he said. What did he mean by that?
“What’s going on out here?” came Miroku’s voice. He was now outside, behind Kouga. “I came out here to say that Sailor Moon was awake.”
“Really?” Kouga asked oblivious to the others around him. He ran inside the hut again. Makoto and Ami was smiling at their revived friend.
******Cynthia’s POV******
I really need to stop getting knocked out. I woke up to see Mako-chan and Ami-chan staring down at me in relief. I looked down to my body and found that I was changed into a yukata. I was back in my human form.
“Cynthia-chan, you’re finally awake! We were so worried!” Makoto exclaimed.
I smiled meekly. “I know, I’m sorry. What’s did I miss?”
Kouga pushed through the group and got to me. “Cynthia, are you alright?”
“K…kouga…” I gasped, blushing when he took me into his embrace. Perhaps I should faint more often…
“You scared me. Dammit! If Kagura comes around again, I swear I’ll kill her!” Kouga declared.
“Kouga, I’m sorry I worried you like that…” I sighed, hanging my head.
“I’m sorry to interrupt, but it seems that a Lady Kikyo is outside, asking for you,” Luna said over us. My eyes instantly widened.
“K…kikyo?!” I exclaimed. I instantly got up, making Kouga fall over in surprise. I looked over at him and mouthed a sorry as I clutched my brooch closer to me and walked towards the door. Kouga followed closely behind me. The rest of the group followed also. What the hell would the walking dead want with me?!
True as Luna said, there stood the undead miko I heard so much about, steadying an arrow towards me. I mentally winced in fear, but tried to keep my calm.
“Kikyo, what the hell are you trying to do?!” Inuyasha demanded in shock. Kouga, behind me, growled out a warning.
“Miko, I suggest you put down your arrow before I kill you,” the wolf growled. His blue eyes flashed red for a few seconds, making even me jump.
Kikyo let out a small laugh. “If you didn’t notice, I’m already dead wolf.” Keeping her bow and arrow targeted on me, the rest of the senshi surrounded me. Then she directed her stare towards me. A cold stare that seemed to search through my soul. I couldn’t shake the chills that ran down my spine. “As for you, senshi, I demand to know what is going on. I want to know more about this crystal.”
I instinctively clutched at my brooch. “What interest do you have in the Silver Crystal?” I demanded after finding my voice.
“Why waste your time gathering the shards when you can send Naraku to Hell with just that?” she continued in fury.
That question stunned everyone in the clearing. There was silence all around. I narrowed my eyes, hating to admit my secret. “I…I’m have not mastered its powers yet,” I sighed.
She lowered her bow and arrow and raised her eyebrow in question. “And you protect something of that power? It seems to me that it‘s already pure. Perhaps your soul is the one that keeps it purified.”
I nodded in understanding. “I guess so. It would make sense. I use it when I transform.”
“Naraku must know of this,” she stated suddenly.
“Sorry to break it to ya, but the bastard already attempted to steal it multiple times,” Kouga stated, crossing his arms.
“So it is?” she mused.
“Look, are you here for the crystal or aren’t you?” my mate demanded suddenly.
“I do not take what isn’t mine. Besides which, being in death, I cannot gain powers or loose them. I am stuck as I am, meaning that the crystal would not help me in anyways needed to defeat Naraku. In other words, the only one who can used the crystal and defeat him, is Sailor Moon.”
My eyes widened. “Y…you’re serious?!”
“You mean there’s no other way?” Inuyasha demanded.
“Inuyasha, you cannot merely use a sword and brute strength. It takes power and cunning to defeat a foe such as Naraku. It’s either that crystal or waiting until the whole Shikon Jewel is back together. Are you willing to wait that long when Naraku‘s death is already within your grasp?” Kikyo asked.
“But we have to stop him from having the whole jewel!” Inuyasha argued.
She held her up hand to silence him. “Inuyasha, I shall handle the matter. After all, I am the original protector of the jewel. I shall leave for now, but know that I’ll be back.” She turned on her heels and walked back into the forest, her soul collectors following behind her. Before her last trace was gone, her voice called out,” Don’t think I’ll let you off so easily, Kagome.”
After she left, all Mars could do, was stare at the path, her mouth gaping. She transformed back into Kagome, still in shock. “What does she want with me?!” was all she shouted.
Inuyasha rushed to Kagome’s aid. “Kagome! Are you ok?” he asked.
“Yea, I think…” she trailed off. “But I worry more about Cynthia-chan,” she said, turning to face me. Everyone followed suit, making me sweat in nervousness.
“I guess I have to find ways to strengthen up then,” I decided, putting a determined expression on.
“But how did she know that you were Sailor Moon? You were in your normal, human form the whole time,” Shippo piped up, out of the hut and on Miroku’s shoulder.
“That’s easy Shippo. She sensed the power of the Silver Crystal coming from me,” I explained.
There was silence among the group for a few seconds until we heard the calls we knew all too well.
“KOUGA!” came the shouts of Ginta and Hakkaku as they ran up to us. No wonder I didn’t see them for some time! They must of gotten lost as they usually did. The wolves followed closely behind, barking.
“Kouga! Finally you stopped!” Ginta exclaimed, all raspy from loss of breath. Both demons were bent over in labored breathing.
“You guys went so fast and we couldn’t catch up!” Hakkuku added.
Kouga rolled his eyes and sighed,” It’s about time you caught up. We were about to leave you behind again.”
“Who’s that?” both asked, pointing towards Ami.
“You two missed quite a lot. That’s our newest member; Sailor Mercury,” I explained.
“Sister Cynthia!” they both exclaimed. The wolves surrounded me and nuzzled my hands in a friendly greeting. I patted their heads, smiling down at them.
“Keh! Will you two shut up!” Inuyasha demanded, irritated. Kagome rolled her eyes.
“Me? Part of the group?!” Ami shouted. We all looked towards the troubled woman, who stood in shock.
“Yep! Since you’re Sailor Mercury, it’s your duty as a Sailor senshi to aid Sailor Moon in the defeat of Naraku,” Luna explained as she jumped into my arms.
“I don’t know…I’d love to, but I don’t do well with new people,” she sighed.
Then, came Miroku’s cue. Shippo jumped onto Kagome’s shoulder. He strolled up to her and grasped her hands into his. “Fear not, maiden. Before joining the group myself, I was a lonely man. I didn’t believe that I would fair well in the company of others. As I came to know these wonderful people, I realized that would’ve missed out on a lot if I didn’t join up with them,” he admitted, his face serious.
Sango gasped in surprise. “Houshi-sama…”
Inuyasha only rolled his eyes. “Yea right. Stupid monk, always finding a way to flirt with other women,” he muttered. Kouga nodded his head in agreement.
“Inuyasha!” Kagome scolded, glaring at the hanyou’s unawareness to Sango and Miroku’s relationship.
“What?” Inuyasha asked, totally clueless. Kagome heaved a sigh.
I turned my glance from the now, irate Sango, to the blushing Ami, her hands still in Miroku’s grasp. “I think I can state this for everyone when I say that we would love your company.”
“Uh, well, when you put it that way…I guess I could join your group. It’s not like I know anyone else around here anyways,” Ami replied sadly.
Miroku gave her an encouraging smile. “Ami-sama, if I may ask: Will you bear my children?”
Everyone in the vicinity gave a heavy sigh as he asked. “Here he goes again,” I groaned.
“Yea, poor Sango-chan,” Kagome nodded, agreeing with me.
Ami was in a deep blush. “Uh…is this a serious question?” she demanded.
“Of course!” Miroku replied nonchalantly.
“HOOUUUSSHIII-SSAAMAA!!!” Sango yelled in a growl, that made every male in the area flinch. Miroku’s eyes widened and he tensed up. His grip on Ami’s hands lifted as Sango’s Hiraikotsu made contact with his head. “You lecherous monk!” she exclaimed, stomping off in obvious anger.
“Um…what was that about?” Ami asked, still in shock and blushing.
Walking up to her, I put my hand on her shoulder. “We’re sorry about that. Miroku’s just a lecherous monk with habits to ask every beautiful woman in the area to bear his child,” I explained. She only gave a nod as her eyes widened.
Makoto went up to us and grinned at Ami. “Welcome to our group Ami-chan!” she said. Then to Kagome, she added,” You may need to talk to Sango-chan. She seems really upset at Miroku.”
“Isn’t she always?” Inuyasha snorted out, eavesdropping on our conversation.
“Inuyasha, sometimes you are so thick-headed,” Kagome sighed, shaking her head. “I told you already: the reason Sango is jealous is because she loves Miroku!”
“What the hell do you mean thick-headed?!” Inuyasha demanded, glaring back at the miko.
“Oi, Inukkoro, I’d have to agree with Kagome there. You’re not exactly the bright one out of the bunch,” Kouga added, deciding to join in.
Inuyasha glared daggers at Kouga. “What was that wolf?!”
“You heard me, or are your ears not cleaned out?” Kouga asked with a smirk.
“That’s it! Prepare to be shred, wimpy wolf!” Inuyasha shouted, charging towards my mate with much force. Laughing, Kouga dodged the assault with ease.
Kagome, looked extremely irked. “Inuyasha, OSUWARI!” Me and Makoto shook our heads at the stupid males.
“Oh Kouga,” I said sweetly. He turned to me nervously. After I got his attention, I fumed,” YOU BAKA! We’re wasting enough time as it is! We don’t need anymore stupid fights between you and Inuyasha!” Kouga flinched, looking scared. I turned away from him, continuing to glare.
I heard Mako-chan whisper to Ami,” You’ll get use to it.”
Kagome walked off to comfort Sango. Miroku woke up from his concussion, idly rubbing the lump that grew on his head.
Inuyasha, now back on his feet, was scowling at Kagome. Without saying another word, he turned and stomped ahead of the group. “Let’s go. We’re wasting time,” he growled out.
“Baka,” Shippo muttered under his breath. Inuyasha was too wrapped in his anger to even pay attention to what the kitsune said about him.
Ami ran into her hut to pack her stuff. Makoto and me helped. After that, we started back onto our journey. The only senshi missing was Venus. I wonder when we’ll meet her?
