Hey guys I had this idea for a story and I didn't want to lose the plot so enjoy.

Prologue

It happened over tree thousand years ago. The day we were trapped by the woman with green hair. I think her name was Pluto but I'm not sure. I'm not sure of many things now. One thing I won't forget is why we were sent to a pocket dimension. The woman said we were a danger to something called Crystal Tokyo. It's completely dark unless you count the mirror placed in here for us to watch this so-called queen rule over everything. She has taken away mankind's free will. We will do all that we can to stop this from happening. However, I'm getting too far ahead of myself. I'll explain why we were trapped here in the first place but you may wonder who we are. We are the Legacy Duelists. Why are we called that? It is simple really since each of us has made his own legacy through the card game Duel Monsters. In fact we had so much skill people thought we drew energy from the cards themselves. People thought it was funny to joke like that. There's only one problem we truly drew power from the cards themselves that might be why we were sent here. Now our story begins I hope your ready for the ride.

Legacy Duelists: The Beginning of Legends: Prologue

It was an average day for everyone in Tokyo. People were enjoying themselves, kids were getting out of school, and everyone was basically enjoying the day. However, one girl was not having a good day as with every other day she was picked on and shunned by her peers. She had just agreed to a game of duel monsters to try and shut the bullies' mouths. Unfortunately for her she was just a beginner. This girl was one Hotaru Tomoe and she was about to be part of something very special. Now everything was in place and the duel had just started.

"I summon a monster in defense mode and lay two cards face down," said Hotaru.

"Fine you freak I'll summon the Dark Elf in attack mode and give up 1000lps so that she can attack." the bully stated.

"I activate the trap card Magic Cylinders so you take another 2000 points of damage," Hotaru commented.

"Fine I now play Graceful Charity and draw three cards," the bully replied, "Then I'll discard Magician of Faith and Sangan to the grave. Next I will remove them from the game to summon Black Luster Soldier- Envoy of the Beginning. Now I'll use his special ability to remove your monster from the game."

"My turn so I'll play Pot of Greed," Hotaru replied, "First I'll lay one card down and summon Sprit Reaper in defense mode. Then I'll play Swords of Revealing Light and the Dark Door."

"I'll draw one card and sacrifice my Dark Elf for Jinzo," the bully stated, "Now I use Snatch Steal which will destroy your monster."

Unknown to the two Duelists two people wearing cloaks were walking by and decided to stop and watch the duel.

"I'll draw and play a monster in face down defense mode," Hotaru remarked.

"I'll draw and play Heavy Storm," the bully sneered.

"In response I play Scapegoat," Hotaru declared

"Next I'll play Fissure and Premature Burial to destroy your monster and bring back my Dark Elf from the grave," the bully remarked, "Then I'll switch all three creatures to defense mode and play Curse of Fiend putting all the monsters in attack position. Now I'll attack with my soldier and destroy a scapegoat plus his ability allows him to attack again. Now I'll end this duel with Jinzo."

The combined attack took away all of Hotaru's lps meaning she had lost the duel but the bully and his friends weren't done yet.

"Now take her deck and violate her as you see fit," the bully commented.

The robed figures had seen enough and decided to step in.

"You will do no such thing to the girl," stated the first figure," If you wish to do anything then you must first defeat me in a duel and I assure you that won't happen. Maximus go check on the girl and keep her safe."

"Right take care of this punk Steven," Maximus replied.

"Tell me what your name is boy," Steven demanded.

"My name is Greg and you won't beat me," Greg stated.

Both duelists shuffled their decks and began to duel.

"I think I'll start things off," Steven replied, "I'll play Graceful Charity and discard two Blue Eyes White Dragons. Now I'll use Premature to bring back one of my dragons and The Shallow Grave to bring back the other one face down. Book of Taiyou will put my second dragon in attack mode and finally I'll end my turn by using Polymerization to fuse Lord of D and Divine Dragon Ragnarok to form King Dragun."

"I'll play two cards face down and a monster in defense mode," Greg stuttered.

"I'll draw one card and use my King Dragun's ability to special summon one dragon from my hand," Steven remarked, "Now behold the power of my teacher's favorite card. Show yourself Horus the Black Flame Dragon lv6. Now Horus attack Greg's monster with Crimson Dust."

The dragon rose up and began to beat his large wings repeatedly until what appeared to be a cyclone made of dust was swirling around Greg's creature. Once the storm was large enough the dragon released a stream of fire upon it, lighting the dust on fire and reducing the monster trapped within the inferno to ashes.

"That isn't the best part for now I'll end my turn allowing Horus lv6 to become Horus lv8," Steven commented, "Now look into the face of your demise."

"I'll draw and play Pot of Greed," Greg said.

"I activate the special ability of Horus lv8 which is I can say no to every magic card you try to play," Steven smirked, "I won't allow you to use Pot of Greed."

"Fine I'll play one monster face down and another card face down," Greg stated.

"I'll draw and play Pot of Greed," said Steven, "I pity you little boy I thought you would be more of a challenge then this. Now I'll special summon another Blue Eyes White Dragon."

"I flip Acid Trap Hole which removes your dragon from play," Greg sneered.

"King Dragun has the ability to protect all dragons from magic, trap, and monster effects," Steven replied, "Looks like my dragon will stay but this duel is over now. I play Delta Attacker, which allow three monsters with the same name but have no special abilities to attack you directly. Go my dragons attack him and end this duel. White Lightning Attack!"

The three dragons attacked directly taking Greg's LPs down to minus 1000. The duel ended and Steven walked over to where Maximus and Hotaru were sitting.

"Nice one Steven you put him in his place," Maximus stated, "Poor fool is in shock."

"That was the point my friend," Steven replied.

Just then both Steven and Maximus turned to Hotaru while think about what they just felt.

"You feel that potential and its all coming from her," Maximus stated.

"I know its shocking that someone who just started playing this game have such hidden talent," Steven commented, "I think Spade and Vlad will want to see this for themselves. Young one would you like to come with us? We wish to see you become a great duelist and a friend of ours can set you on a path of greatness. We will not decide anything for you even if you come with us you shall still have a choice in the matter."

"I would like to go with you if it would mean having some friends," Hotaru replied.

"Of course you'll end up with friends," Maximus remarked, "Everyone that has excepted our offer has become friends with each other. In fact with your potential you will most likely become a student of one of us instead of a disciple."

"Then I will come with the two of you," Hotaru commented.

"I'm happy with the decision you made," said Maximus, "My Daniel Maximus master of the Mystic Swordsman and my friend is Steven Kamiya master of the Blue Eyes White Dragon as you saw in that duel that just ended."

"Its nice to meet both you and Mr. Kamiya," said Hotaru.

"Great potential and respectful as well Spade is going to have fun with this one," Steven remarked.

Steven, Maximus, and Hotaru started to walk towards the place that Spade and Vlad were waiting at. After about half an hour of walking they came to a three-story house that could be mistaken for a small mansion. (Hey we're talking Japanese standard wise here.) They went inside the house and headed for the living room where two men in cloaks similar to Steven and Maximus were waiting. The two men pulled down the hoods of their cloaks to reveal Spade and Vlad. Steven gulped then walked up to Spade and handed him three of the cards that had been in his deck.

"You took my Horus cards without asking me," Spade demanded, "Discipline!"

Spade smacked Steven upside the head.

"Now why are you late and who is the girl," Vlad inquired.

Maximus explained what happened and after he was done Spade was giving Hotaru a look that made the girl uncomfortable while Vlad just sighed at Spade's actions.

"Well since you know who Maximus and Steven are you might as well know who we are," Vlad stated, "The guy eyeing you like a piece of meat is Matt "The Spade" Hall master of Horus the Black Flame Dragon. My name is Chris "Vlad" Tirpak master of Vampire Lord. I think we should figure out which duel monster is going to be your guardian. The only cards you can't pick are those that already guard a disciple. Close your eyes and let the chosen monster come to you."

Hotaru looked at a table that had a lot of creatures from Duel Monsters on it. Hotaru closed her eyes as instructed and reached her hand out. She started to search for a card that was willing to guide and protect her. She didn't find any card like that until after a few minutes when she put her hand down on whatever card it was the strange energy was coming from. When Hotaru looked down she saw the Dark Magician Girl.

I'm going to end it here. The Legacy Duelists have been introduced and Hotaru has become a follower of their ways. Find out what will happen to Hotaru and her new guardian the Dark Magician Girl in the next chapter so until then read and leave nice reviews.
